  1. I have the same experience as @Boeroer. I use Eder as my main tank in the majority of my runs (built the same way as Boeroer builds him) and he performs quite well that way. I am on potd upscaled etc. Eder is almost always my main tank unless my PC is built to be one. With the setup that Boeroer described he can hold tons of engagements and defensively he is strong enough to take hits. As Boeroer mentioned it can take some levels and gear to get there. Early on before he has good armor or Cadlu Scalth he is a lot less beefy. Of course I typically take a strong main support character in my parties (Xoti or Tekehu if the PC isn't one...sometimes even both of them or one plus Herald Pallegina if I'm in fights that require endurance (some of the tough SSS fights for example). So I do bring along a character to keep Eder healthy and hale. But I imagine that regardless of what most people use as a tank they're typically doing the same as well...on potd at least.

  2. Erm... both at the same time. I use him as main tank swashbuckler with a large shield and lots of engagement items (Hold the Line, Reckless Brigandine, Kapana Taga, Cadhu Scalth), Riposte, Mob Stance and a pet like Abraham for example. It makes him rel. fast when he's engaging a lot of enemies which makes him more reactive while still being able to engage 5 enemies - more is not practical imo. With Persistent Distraction he will passively debuff and afflict those 5 enemies automatically which is nice. With Kapana Taga and his attacks and Ripostes he will debuff enemies' Will for my party. I also pick Adept Evasion - because in combination with the modal of the large shield and the enchantments of Cadhu Scalth you cannot really harm him when you cast friendly-fire spells on him + the enemies he's holding - if those spells target reflex. I also give him an item that makes him immune to push/pull effects (usually the Upright Captain's Belt) because I like to make heavy use of Pull of Eora in the area where he is holding most enemies. He will skill Athletics and Metaphysics bc. of Cadhu Scalth. He will not do great amounts of weapon damage nor will he be the tankiest of tanks - but he's really useful for me that way. He is and was totally fine for lots of my party runs as the only tank. It takes some levels until he can withstand all sorts of enemies alone - but at some point it just works. Maybe because I usually don't use glass cannons so there is always a bit of support at the front line. And lots of debuffs and CC from the second row which of course helps with survivability of the front line. The biggest gripe I have with him is his lowish INT. It's not so bad when taking Tactical Barrage - but I would still like my tank to have more INT. I would also have liked him to be an Unbroken instead of a no-subclass Fighter. But it still works.

  3. I dunno, I kinda prefer necro threads to creating new and short-lived microthreads. It shows that the necromancer bothered to read quite a bit instead of just plopping a lazy question, and reading is good.

  5. First if he likes Swedish food, it is just more evidence that he is unhinged. Now, his views are not his views. As a Fox News employee, he was a mouthpiece for the billionaire class, like the rest of Fox News. The media landscape does not need a made up, astroturfed "side" for things to be balanced. There are not two sides to every issue. Sometimes issues are more complex than that, and the brainless reduction of discussions to stupid talking points helps no one. Fox news is actively and intentionally destroying the social fabric. It is not needed anywhere.

  6. Platform: Xbox Series S (digital). Yes, the console is updated (I keep it on auto-update). Console is bone stock. No mods, etc. Grounded edition: GamePass Grounded version: 1.2.0.4105 (Super Duper update) Game mode: Single Player Problem: Game crashes every hour at auto-save - THE GOOD: I LOVE Grounded! It quickly became my favorite game. I have spent countless hours on it! The game has something for everyone's play style from search-n-destroy to run-and-gun to simple exploration to 'Minecrafting'. Love it! THE BAD: After an hour or so, my game will crash when it auto-saves. It won't crash any other time. For example I can manually save no problem, get into intense graphics, etc.. no lag, no problems. Only after about an hour when it auto-saves and POOF... Grounded shuts down and kicks me to home screen. Also note: I sometime play multiplayer with 2 friends. Usually they host and it has never crashed. I sometimes host and it has NOT crashed. I have not played multiplayer since the Duper update. I also have very fast internet so that's not the issue - or at least not on my end. ??? Before the latest 'Super Duper' update, the game would crash about every 3 hours like clockwork. You could almost set your watch to it. I found it more of an annoyance and sort of a unexpected perk. It more or less reminded me to take a break! But now that it's doing it every hour - I find this extremely annoying. I've resorted to manually saving every chance I get (which is also annoying). Last night I started a log to see exactly when it was crashing and this is what I found when playing for approx. 5 hours. Note that there was NO boss fights or major graphic-intense moments. Basically I was hunting and gathering to prepare for the ORC defense challenge. Crash 1: Played for 1 hour 15 minutes (then crashed) Crash 2: 1 hour 10 minutes Crash 3: 1 hour 21 minutes Crash 4: 1 hour 35 minutes. I am certainly no game developer, but this is more than a simple coincidence don't ya think? My Xbox never crashes with any other game I've played on it. NEVER. Grounded is the only one with this issue. Please let me know if there's a solution that DOESN'T involve deleting and starting over? I have WAY too much time already invested in it. If starting completely over is the only way, then unfortunately I doubt I will be investing any more of my time playing it. Thank you, PS: I did send an email to your tech support but I thought I'd post the issue here as I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem. I have searched the internet for the issue but almost all of the sites I read were PC related and not Xbox.

  9. Don't recall ever saying I'd do that. Isn't really cynicism, seeing the French talk about how a rule run by might helps no one, the US bemoaning a small nation being invaded or whatever Lavrov went on about is clearly BS.

  14. This game is really good, I would like them to make a dlc bringing new content, such as a new scenario, new enemies, new weapons and armor, new buildings, new items and equipment. I imagine a dlc as follows, we are in our standard backyard and when we get close to a wooden fence that borders the backyard, there is a small opening to go to the neighboring backyard, where there would be a completely new map, full of new things etc

  15. Yes, though I played most of the game in co-op (built a magnificent tower solo*). I really liked the climbing mechanic - almost every surface outside dungeons could be climbed freely. Also the exploration and base-building were very nice.

  17. Dev Diary #6: Banished Court: Scions & Monsters harebrained is leaning heavy into h.p. lovecraft territory for their adversaries. edit: complete unrelated, but whenever am thinking o' lovecraft, we cannot help but consider the creepy physical similarity o' zuckerberg and lovecraft. am thinking the doppelgangers is more spooky than the banished court. HA! Good Fun!

  18. fyi, the state efforts to prosecute trump, assuming such efforts by the respective state DAs proceed as anticipated, is not gonna result in trials starting soonish. if ms. willis indicts in july, then a trial is unlikely to happen until late first quarter o' 2024, or even a bit later. the ny thing, if it even goes to trial, will occur late 2023. however, the feds do different than states insofar as speedy trial is concerned. defendants have a right to speedy trial in state court proceedings as well as fed, but is likely trump don't want speedy. am assuming team trump will delay state prosecutions as long as possible and it sure looks as if the state prosecutors dragged their feet before indicting. the feds tend to be meticulous 'bout building their cases, and they rare charge unless they is certain they will win, so if charges are brought against trump by the feds, then am suspecting more than a few people will be surprised by just how quickly a fed trial happens. observation: if the feds get a first crack at trump and succeed in convicting trump for the mar-a-lago documents kerfuffle, then significant pressure on state prosecutors to bring trump to justice is removed. am not reading the minds o' the ny or ga prosecutors, but we cannot help but recognize how much easier the political lives o' willis and bragg become if trump is already convicted by the feds before state criminal trials begin. HA! Good Fun!

  19. Previous DLC was just a month or so ago. Paradox has two different teams working on two different DLCs for Stellaris, apparently. Still can't understand how that's profitable. *Buys all the DLC*

  20. Story is probably too strong a word for M&B, but there is a backstory to the factions. That being said, Bannerlord does have a bit more of a narrative path that you can follow, and it gives you a family at the start. Ballers Gate is now the official name.

  26. Yep I can verify this can easily solo the game, BUT this combo requires community patch for focus generation to work correctly. I'd do a pure forbidden fist, you don't have to cast spells as often, and it doesn't require the community patch (though I'd recommend using it anyway). The main thing to note is with a forbidden fist using the forbidden fist attack causes "forbidden curse" to build up, so you have to have a pretty specific stat spread for you to be able to spam forbidden fist without damaging yourself. The relationship between intelligence (makes the curse longer, but also your buffs), dexterity (how fast you can spam forbidden fist), and resolve (reduces the curse duration) is a little tricky but once you get it right it is very easy. Basically you want 35 resolve or as close to that as you can get. It is actually doable with the right items, boons, and buffs, even without a steadfast inspiration (which soul blade could give you for +5 resolve). Check this thread for specifics and also an alternate multiclass build that would fulfill what you're looking for. Then your intelligence should be no higher than 13, in which case you can dump dexterity to 3. You will still attack once per 2s roughly with monk's swift flurry. Alternatively you can dump intelligence, which allows you to attack a little faster, but your buffs won't last very long. Then again only buffs a SC monk really needs is swift flurry and clarity of agony. Clarity of agony is important for reducing hostile effect duration by 50%. With 35 res, 13 INT, 3 dex, swift flurry, clarity of agony, ring of the solitary wanderer, two-weapon style, dual-wielding, and strand of favor (all available before halfway through the game) the curse lasts about 2s and you can attack every 2s so it is perfectly balanced. If you want to be extra safe dump dex to 3 and leave INT no higher than 10, gives you a little more room regarding getting your resolve to 35. You should note without the community patch forbidden fist does not benefit from dual wielding, so in that case you don't dump dex, the curse will last the same amount of time but with 3 dex you can only attack once per 2.8s or so (with robes or no armor, which you don't need), so you'd want dex a bit higher. You don't need much CON, PER should be high, can have might wherever really, don't need a lot because the FF attack has a +50% damage modifier and you get another +60% or so from transcendent suffering. Then you can make a very simple script to buff yourself with clarity of agony with a cooldown of however long it lasts for your character, cast swift flurry when you don't have the dexterity inspiration, and attack with forbidden fist. Three blocks. If you want another good alternative FF / unbroken, this is made by @Not So Clever Hound

  27. Whenever someone puts forth this argument, especially if it also contains the suggestion that "both sides are probably right in parts, and the truth is somewhere in between", I think of a discussion between a mathematician and someone who approaches numerals from a refreshingly different viewpoint. The first person thinks that 2+2=4, whereas the second thinks that 2+2=22. Thus, we'd be forced to conclude that 2+2=13.

  30. Ah, how the mighty are fallen. A couple of years back they made fun of Rogue One: A Star Wars story for being an absolutely unoriginal vehicle of pandering, and now they're clapping for the Enterprise D throwback in a season that is a partial The Wrath of Khan remake and a nostalgia driven final send-off for the TNG crew with a plot so harebrained and full of contrivances it makes X-Files look well planned by contrast. Did any of you guys clap for the original Star Trek moments the writers came up with*? No? Why not? Oh, there were not any? Oh my... *Edit: That is techincally a lie, but the "original" moments of the season were adapted from the BSG reimagining backstory. The Borg just took over Starfleet instead of shutting down Colonial defenses. Yay. Eh, and that is the explanation that is giving the writers the benefit of the doubt, because otherwise we could say they took that from the exceptional Battleship movie.
