So I decided to take a break from people in general and concentrate on my fork art. And last summer that worked well and I was super productive. Then came the end of August and it rained something fierce and this happened while I was out and about: So now I have a cat demanding at least some attention. But I also discovered that I game less if I am not on a forum posting screenshots. Posting screenshots is often more fun than playing the actual game. And not playing means I can spend more time painting. Naturally, having an old PC that has trouble running the newest games helps. It takes ages for something like Midnight Suns to load up. And with the amount of load screens that game has, half my playtime is doing something else while it loads. Like playing with Kassandra the cat. Or painting. Tuesday I am participating in my first group show. Not thrilled by the venue, but you have to start somewhere.5 points

I like cars. After 112,000 miles, my Mk VI Golf R was starting to add up in upkeep costs, giving me a frowny face. I felt it was time to change, and since I already have a 160K+ mile J150 GX for Japanese-Amerikan practicality, I felt like it was time to get in front of my pending near mid-life crisis and get a USDM J-Vin'd front engine, RWD sports car. Hence, I got a ZN8 GR86. I love it. It has a six-speed manual transmission with a LSD. It's relatively low-powered with a 2.4 liter boxer engine producing 228HP and 184 lb/ft torque. But it is by far the best handling car I've ever driven - especially after some tastefully modest modifications: CSG-Spec Tein FLA coilovers, Cusco braces (strut towers, front and rear side members, steering rack + bushings), Ikeya Formula lower control arms, TRD door stabilizers, Spoon rigid collars, and Essex/AP Racing brakes (last one is, admittedly overkill). I am quite pleased.3 points

The GR86 is one of those very few cars made after 1998 that I wouldn't mind having. It's a shame it's a boxer engine though. I'll stick with my ~450000km Volvo 940 though. I've got my Volvo 240 for some variation2 points

On Saturday I'm taking the whole family on a flight to Atlanta, Georgia. We are celebrating my mom's 70th birthday. My parents and sister have lived in Georgia for about 7 years, but this is my first visit. I'm excited to see the family, but I'm a bit concerned about the flight. My kids have never actually flown, and I haven't flown in about 10 years. Last time I flew I got a terrible sinus headache that lasted for most of the flight. So yeah, I hope my brain doesn't explode and I hope my kids do alright.2 points

No sweat, we are still a thing. Amazingly so actually because I did not want to drag her into my current difficulties. Life is strange and wonderful sometimes. My actual relatives have sent nothing but radio silence and my biggest supporters were strangers just two years ago.2 points

I'm still in love with my hydrogen car, a 2021 Toyota Mirai, a year and a half into owning it. Hydrogen prices have risen, which is an issue, but I'm still using the free fuel card (I think it has another $5k on it.) It drives like a dream. I just hit 30k miles on it and maintenance has been a breeze. I've driven it to Southern California a handful of times with no issues.1 point

I usually hate travel channels but this guy is alright, most interesting is him traveling through ex-Soviet states as a Russian speaking Brit He was actually in a tiny Ukrainian village on the border with Russia days before the invasion, eerie to watch in retrospect1 point

The beauty is that the 3-Run Home Run strategy is still the most viable way to score runs, but you also can't discount stealing second base at a better than 83% clip. Plus the new rules have the added benefit of actually correcting the inherent faulty geometry of the game. Each base now being exactly 90 ft and at 90 degree angles. https://www.mlb.com/news/basepath-measurements-with-new-bigger-bases1 point

It is. Almost on par with deadfire, which, in my opinion is the prettiest crpg1 point

I don't hate any of these rule changes. Which is funny because I did when they were proposed. I was wrong about that!1 point

Looks like several new archetypes and a few spells may be in the pipeline, with a good amount of association with the undead or shadows. Also an "android companion". Let's hope Owlcat's Commander Data isn't as bad as NuTrek's evil Brent Spiner. Looking at the archetypes and I think Shadowcaster and Weretouched will be top-tier, Ghost Rider and Reanimator are wildcards, Tortured Crusader and Tandem Executioner are downgrades. We'll just have to wait and see when/if they are implemented.1 point

am suspecting an impeachment by wi republicans would have a similar impact as did the overturn o' roe. democrats vote less reliable than does republicans, but if they is motivated by anger or fear, they will show up at the polls in their multitudes. an impeachment would make the democrats even more active in the next election. impeachment sure ain't gonna win over the independents who is always pivotal in close elections. at the moment the gop is complete dedicated to the politics o' grievance which am s'posing is meant to keep trump and his base happy. 'course indulging trumpism is a devil's bargain and it may be the bill is already coming due. the gop needs such stoopid as the war on wokeism and qanon nonsense to retain the trump base, but by indulging the base/trump, they galvanize democrats and distance themselves from independents. 'course is equal true democrats typical fail at crafting a message which simultaneous resonates with their voters and appeals to independents. our prediction for wisconsin is we see the equivalent o' a south park slap fight. HA! Good Fun!1 point

Carnage is not supposed to proc on your main target... but sometimes it does. The predictable case is using pushing weapons (Llengrath warding staff). It basically push your target out the position where carnage doesn't work... so it works. For similar reasons, it might proc on moving targets. Not sure what cause the damages to apply in your particular case. Might have something to do with the size. Which would be ok since size prevents the effect from applying to other targets. Anyone with further input on this would be welcome.1 point

Any class using Mechanical Marvel with modal activated and stacked speed/recovery reduction from items can interrupt the gigantic/massive oozes. Any class can also kill the first form using Lover's Embrace and a potion of invisibility. Massive, greater and lesser oozes can be killed/interrupted using scrolls of Tornado. The difficult thing is to deal with the two massive oozes while wearing light armor.1 point
-
It might not be entirely wrong if BPM Scrolls of Tornado provided a viable solution to beat HoW avaiable for all classes. Granted you need to dedicate a fair number of stacks to them, and having scolls of Meteor Shower along might be more efficient to hasten the risky phase, because of its extremely high damages. Also beware that Tornado targets Fortitude (Gigantic Black Ooze has 142+15 Fort in PotD...)1 point

Was thinking "Debtor's Helm" was a mistranslation but now I'm guessing you type Deltro's Cage Helm on a phone? How do you keep up the conduit buff? I've never played a shifter--do the shifter forms last long enough for longer combats? I usually don't like druids' shifting because it seems limited in longer fights.1 point

Rich: "Nothing I'm going to complain about is as bad as the stuff that came before." Indeed, and that is how low we have sunk. Because those middle three episodes were not good, but I guess when swimming in a sea of diarrhea, finding a chunk of firm stool feels like a win.1 point

Conan Exiles - My new base and thralls are coming along well. The sorcerer stuff is exciting. You aren't throwing fireballs or anything crazy like that, but you can do some pretty interesting things with it. It also adds a good deal of lore and story to the game. I'm excited to get the teleporter stuff up and running, so I can start a new base is a better spot. Right now I'm near all the early game stuff, which is good, but I am almost ready to move on.1 point

I was 45 hours into IWD2 and about it go into the Underdark when the game crashed on that loading screen I then spent about 5 hours troubleshooting it by removing mods and reinstalling mods and the game and it just made things worse. None of my save games would load. It was very frustrating and I was about to quit the game but then someone on Codex mentioned that you must loads mods in the same original order because IWD2 is a buggy game. I decided to try one more time to fix the issues and I did the following I uninstalled the game completely from GOG I then deleted any folders or files that were left over that were mostly mod related I reinstalled the game I then used my normal windows download folder to guess which mods I would have installed first And it worked, I could load save games and go into the Underdark1 point

Wow thats sounds very good. Thank you:) Im referring to the Dialog that appears in the conversation window. Mhh but if i get you right, that sounds like a lot of work. Do i have to increase the font of each single Dialog? And where can I find the spots where the changes has to be done?1 point

new lamplighters dev diary. HA! Good Fun! ps fixed... maybe. aside, devs says they ain't doing "camp," so am taking them at their word, but the characters sure sound and look to be humorously exaggerated while leaning heavy on the clichés. is accidental?1 point

Yes, I think the answer is as simple as this. People wanted that Baldur's Gate fix, some people got it what they wanted and moved on, others saw that after all they craved other things and well moved on. Relying on nostalgia as sales pitch only works once...1 point

I compiled such a list of games: Yes, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Nobody said differently. But it's another thing to assume that just because I feel a certain way a lot of people should share that sentiment. Color me interested. How many? In this forum, on Twitter and on Discord I didn't even read once about this problem. There were many complaints, some occured frequently (loading times, performance, main story arc, nerfs etc.) and some very esoteric ("not enough women smiling" wasn't even the weirdest, we had one guy who wanted a refund because there are naked butts in the game...) - but not one complaint about reused parts of the environment. But maybe I just missed other sources where this was discussed. For example I don't use Reddit or RPGCodex... My personal pet peeve with reusing stuff is that the late introduction of FullVO lead to a lot of voice actors getting "reused" for different characters in the game. Although they tried to alter their voices as best as they could I can tell all VAs who are doing multiple parts because I have good ears and excellent voice recognition. When speaking to Udine after talking to Mad Morena I just cringe, but alas... The only VA who fooled me for some time (from PoE until the Engwithan Digsite in Deadfire) was Matthew Mercer who's doing Aloth AND Edér... But since I didn't read about this "problem" anywhere else I just guessed that I'm pretty alone with that. So I didn't assume that reusing voice actors for multiple chars was a huge problem in general and therefore I didn't assume that many players didn't buy Deadfire - or won't buy upcoming games - because several chars were voiced by he same person (and I can hear it and it bugs me a bit). If reusing parts of the environment or portraits is such an offputting thing that transcends specific groups of players there should be plenty of sources for that, shouldn't it? I went through the thread again and so far it was a respectful and rather carefully worded discussion - especially when considering it's an internet forum with anonymous users. It's not aggression if your claims get challenged - it's just objections. The only (passive-)aggressive part so far was that^ - since it suggests that the participants in this discussion started to behave like fanboys without any objectivity or arguments - which was not the case.1 point

There has been no aggression whatsoever in this discussion. Don't be a martyr.1 point

I finally forced myself to beat ME2 and onto ME3. I'll be honest the whole series doesn't really hold up imo. Even 2 which is the best one, I found myself skipping dialog because it seemed unnecessary and tedious. just hold the joystick up to paragon option or down to renegade depending on your playthrough. no point in mixing responses unless you want a bad ending. The combat is the same thing over and over. fight flow of enemies empty room go to next room, empty room go to next room. find thing, move to next location. I really doubt I'll finish 3 this time around.0 points

Translation: Trump absolutely adored autocratic rulers (Kim, Modi, MbS, Putin etc.) and was much easier to get to dance to the Saudi tune. A country which hates the US and support their enemies like AQ materially and financially, even if the money is not in the official books (because having the support of US against Iran is always a nice bonus, especially if the support is free, bar a few scratches behind Trumps ear and a few encouraging words, not followed by action). If the new puppet doesn't want to dance properly, time to put on the spiked gloves and hurt the world economy until a new and more pliable leader is elected, because that's what democracies do, picking the paths of least resistance (no absolutes without exceptions of course).0 points

People get too caught up in balance. Id wager obsidian just wanted freedom in backstab choices and the harder hitting 2 hand wespsons just work better by coincidence. Id also make a hedge wager that obsidion meant for 2 hand weapsons to hit harder on backstabs cause it makes sense. Yea. It makes sense. What advantage does a dagger bring when it comes to damage over a 2 h axe? Daggers are easily concealed thats it. That aside, if you happen to find yourself 2 meters behind your target, you want a free swing with an axe or a dagger- with an arquabus pointed at the back of someones head or a stiletto?0 points
