Ultimately it comes down to meeting your goals. What are your goals? Is it 1440p max settings? Is it 4K max settings with RT? Is it 1080p with medium-ish settings? Then the next question is does your current setup meet those goals? If no, then get the cheapest parts that will meet said goal. There's something to be said for future-proofing, but how far into the future are we talking? Game developers tend to design games with the lowest common denominator in mind, which is the MSony consoles in most cases. We are relatively early in the current console cycle and I have doubts we'll see mid cycle upgraded models like last time around. With that in mind, I don't see games making any giant leap in requirements for at least 4 years, generally speaking. There will, of course, be outliers.2 points

Mine run, yes it's SoF exploit (briliant, no recovery, lash from helm and tenacious are the buffs mostly). But i think SC has potential for clean (no SoF) solo run(not ultimate) with resting, brilliant from wit, going ham on arcana and managing one time buffs for megabosses edit. it's perma invis with SoF too2 points

Hmm… I think, the gif of the bad guy from Far Cry would be fitting for this2 points

Do you think we will get the option to dismantle armor or/and weapons? I know I have a lot of armor and weapons from doing burg.l quests.1 point

And now serious talk about providing modern western MBT is starting. Poland and Finland are considering potentially providing Leo 2s. (assuming Germany agrees) UK has recently stated it could possibly join in as well.1 point

@mjo2138 if I remember correctly I went with orlan for +2PER to see hidden cache with key to trunk with Iridescent Scale (in Dunnage) so I could steal it (was broke) and I wanted Raider background (stealth, mech) so White that Wends (+1PER) was no go1 point

I really enjoyed watching your videos on YT. Thank you for sharing. They really gave me some ideas. Especially the BM/Skaen one. May I ask why you choose Hearth Orlan? Does minor threat work is Vela is in your party at all times? Or did you just want the extra PER? Otherwise, wood elf seems like the other prototypical choice. Thank you! Yes I am going to add BPM in to my game; does it work with Community Patch 'Extra'? Ah ok thank you! Yeah I was thinking it was that , because I saw another video where someone made a 'cheese' character (Camabert Gorgonzola (sp) and he poked Dorudugan once and he died. I like you YT videos as well, esp the SC Assassin ones on YT. Thank you! That is good to know. i never got into SoF exploits, so I will use BPM.1 point

But @Waski was talking about a no-exploit, no-SoF run that would rest a lot and use when needed the Brilliant inspiration from Wit of Death Herald after He Waits in Fire . That, the full BPM complement would make it strictly better I believe.1 point

Except, ahem, BPM nerfs package disables strand of favor exploit But sure if one only uses BPM buffs package, things are by definition better1 point

I think both will affect equally Healing from active, passive and equipped item/pet abilities, except Unbending (see below). +Healing done will also affect healing from scrolls and potions which Might doesn't affect. Neither will affect Unbending (but +Healing received would, and would also apply to the stuff above). Only Might would affect health stolen from e.g. Corrosive Siphon or Draining Missiles because it's not exactly a healing effect (I think). Other damage modifiers e.g. Sworn Enemy would also increase that form of healing, through increased damage.1 point

+3 MIG = +9% healing. That works for the same sources the Physiker's Belt works with (which does +10% healing). On top of that you'd get +9% damage as you said - but even more importantly (imo) you'll also get +6 Fortitude defense. +3 MIG def. better in my book.1 point

So, launch day prices for the RTX 4070 Ti in Central Yurop €-land: 900€ for the cheapest, the same asking price as the RTX 3080, 15 to 20% cheaper than any available 7900 XT and a whole lot cheaper (like 45% cheaper) than any available RTX 3080 Ti and never mind the 3090 Tis, which are still being sold for prices similar to the RTX 4090. RTX 3070 Tis are 750€ right now. It sure is, but it is predicated on the US pricing reality that simply does not exist for us commies, as such I can only watch and be slightly amused by the exasperation. As per curent pricing, given the performance and efficiency of the RTX 4070 Ti, it's currently the best value card on the market. It's ridiculous.1 point

Apparently the last of the founding sisters in 1969, after June (died 2006) and Bonnie (died 2020). Younger sisters Bonnie and June started as a duo, then older sister Anita joined officially becoming The Pointer Sisters. They became a quartet when oldest sister Ruth joined in 1972. In 1977, Bonnie struck out to be a solo act, and June temporarily took a break. June was back when they had their big 80s hits (which is where I was introduced to them). Remaining sister Ruth still tours as the Pointer Sister with one of her daughters, Issa, and one of her granddaughters, Sadako.1 point

@Shai Huludsc bloodmage is easy mode past lv16 just don't dump resolve and start fight by casting coocon on yourself (just sneak close to enemy), paralyzed is shortened by RES, untargetable not (beneficial) so you will have few sec to extend it with WoD. Throw some healing from gloves and you're guccci.1 point

Unclear because I didn't have party members, but I didn't see the chant on Vela, while I did see it listed in my effects, so...my guess is I receive the benefits of the chant but am not saying the chant myself. In this case it gives like +20% crush damage or something (I did check at one point attacking an NPC and looking at the +damage modifiers and IIRC it was 20. ISH) Doesn't look like an aura that does crushing, just passively applies extra damage with crushing weapons and spells like minoletta's minor missiles. Kind of limited but I did it completely by accident, didn't actually use ringleader much. I'm guessing you can steal any chant an enemy is using (of the form does X for Y sec) if you flip them and kill them last, but I haven't really tested it yet. ---EDIT: To be clear I believe you steal the *effect* of the chant not the chant itself. Theoretically we can also steal the effects of certain invocations like "The Bridesman Slew Thirty" for +5 might/con/resolve, but you'd need a chanter to cast it on you, and since solo we can't directly control dominated enemies you just have to luck into their AI doing something beneficial... @Not So Clever HoundThanks, first guy looks pretty beefy. You don't even have Scordeo's procced there do you? Kinda a one-trick pony I'm guessing though? Not that there's anything wrong with that if it's a really good trick. My guy's trick is to explode groups of enemies with soul annihilation. I'm messing around with a pure blood mage at the moment. Been done a lot but I want to see what I can do with major grimoire imprint. Maybe steal Arkemyr's brilliant departure, writs of sorcery, writs of war, etc. Though the character is probably invulnerable already as soon as you find a priest with barring death's door. Might be too boring idk.1 point

Fun times, isn't it. Eggs..no shortages here but they've definitely gone up in price, but so has most everything else grocery store wise past 6-12 months. Feels like what used to be $100-$120 total now ends up around $180-$200. Some annual inflation is one thing but that much in such a short time certainly hits the wallet. Especially since I can no longer subsist on a diet dominated by dried ramen and/or rice or a sack of potatoes/bread/beans as filler with maybe a little cheap protein on the side. On the other hand, 90% less snacking ends up a little cheaper in that way, so maybe it balances out. lol1 point

Very simply put, heavily relying on types of symbolism or themes that do not personally impact me to carry a work is a surefire way to make sure that piece is ineffective for me. So it is no surprise that though I read literally hundreds of classic literature short stories in high school English, I only did not dislike exactly one: short stories, by their very nature, are barebones and incredibly pointed while being seeped in cheap...no, let's say simple yet usually painfully abstract symbolic tricks and shortcuts to quickly convey ideas as a result of the limitations of the medium...and it's at the cost of virtually everything I normally find enjoyable about reading literature. I hate the short story medium, and themes and symbology are never what I wish to approach or analyze a work of fiction with first - only, perhaps, once I already love and can immerse myself with it. With all of that said... The Green Knight (2021). The recent discussion of it reminded me of how I was into Arthurian stuff when I was a kid, which also reminded me that I had intended to see this even though the trailer looked...well, never you mind that. Pretty sick hair, kid - you'd give some anime girls a run for their money. More pertinently... Essel (the prostitute?): I like your head better where it is. Gawain: I gave my word, I made a covenant. Essel: This is how silly men perish. Gawain: Or how brave men become great. Essel: Why greatness? Why is goodness not enough? [no answer, end scene] Thank you for being the voice of reason, Essel. Anyways, I had some mixed feelings about the film overall as I predictably had trouble identifying with Gawain's character and the journey he goes through, but I did at least eventually get a lot closer than say...The Northman where I wanted to behead the main character almost the entire film, and I did think the film ended on a high note. The first third of the film was a bit difficult to get through, but it at least did ultimately serve some purpose in concretely establishing Gawain's measure of character. Hey, at least I'm pretty up front when I just say "I can't watch this simply because I don't like the style/characters/framing" about something, .1 point

But they have very solid offering of Adventure Paths. And yes, you are correct, they are slow, but this might be maybe due to their fear what would happen with OGL. And looks like, they might have been correct, as Hasbro decided to revamp it, due to their opinion that D&D is undermonetized1 point

It's actually super simple. The key is to have max RES and low/dumped INT, and manage your action speed through equipment, modals, abilities etc. so that your FF curse duration is very short and just shorter than your attack cycle time (e.g. 2.8s curse duration vs. 3.0s FF attack cycle time). That way you can never build up the curse (which would be lethal to you eventually) and you can keep spamming FF for unparalleled Healing (curse expires every couple seconds) + single target damage. Just have to watch out for debuffs/negative auras that can screw with your RES and % hostile effect reduction (e.g. auras from Elder Fire Bats can lower your RES by 2 points without save as long as you're in the AoE). I had posted a couple builds using this if you're interested:1 point

Not Intel level confusing at least as their numbering seemed to have literally no bearing on how the chip performs last time I checked. That naming scheme makes general sense with higher being 'better'. Otherwise... yeah, a bit of a mess. How much cache does the 7940 have? Because AMD itself doesn't actually seem to know. It's either 16MB L3 or 24MB total per that link depending on whether you combine L2 and L3 or not or 20 per the slide above. Or 32MB per some media, though that is media rather than AMD of course. The 7030 has 12CU of (presumably) Vega, not 8. Indeed, the 7x30 models have 12, 6 or 4CU listed on the website, none has 8. The Extreme Gaming laptop having a princely 2CU of RDNA2 also looks funny, though I guess they'll be sold with discrete graphics cards rather than relying on the iGPU. I will laugh if someone (probably Acer) tries to sell them for gaming using just the integrated chip.1 point

Finished Vampire Survivors base game. It was more fun early on when it was more of a stat dependent game, later it just got too wacky and gimmicky, and there were clearly better weapons and characters. But it was ok overall.1 point

Very thorough and funny write-up, I say. A compendium of nearly every trick in the Deadfire book, and then some. The scripting part looks super impressive, but my scripting ability stops at automating Forbidden Fist + Whatever. Sweet, sweet build, and congrats again for taking it all the way through The Ultimate!1 point

Can someone explain to me what the blue Sigourney Weaver is doing floating in a tank. I mean, that's Sigourney's Avatar, and she died ? - or joined the neural network in the trees. I can't remember.0 points

I would say the same. Do you like whales and water more than trees and birds? That is the big change. As a parent with kids who don't listen, it was highly entertaining watching Jake Sully try and get his blue kids to listen to him. I'd probably say the character dynamics were better in the sequel.0 points

mmm.. I can't remember that much about the first one. Avatar 2, it's more apparently a children's movie. There are recognizable themes of family and friendships and such that identify it as such. But it's not bad at all for what it is.0 points

Here's the most recent huge leak on the new OGL 1.1 document: https://gizmodo.com/dnd-wizards-of-the-coast-ogl-1-1-open-gaming-license-1849950634 https://knowyourmeme.com/news/dungeons-and-dragons-fans-furious-following-lengthy-leaks-of-ogl-11 It has caused a huge firestorm in gaming and D&D circles. And if you read through this article very carefully you'll see the new OGL is so very nakedly obviously targeting D&D competitors, and especially Paizo/Pathfinder, to try and shut them down. I fear this will end any possible future Pathfinder games, as well as any new content for Solasta.0 points
