Some time back @Elric Galad made the suggestion of a mod to enable a standalone playthorugh of the Seeker Slayer Survivor DLC: I've (sporadically) worked on implementing this concept, and the mod is now at the point where it's a fully playable - big thanks to everyone in the modding subforum thread! I thought to post it here since this new gamemode may be of general interest. Features New Game starts with entering the Temple of Toamowhai, and you'll be blocked from exiting the island. All quests flags will be set appropriately. You'll begin at Lv 16 with 100'000 gold and a Superb copy of every weapon and armor kind. You'll be free to access the inn and hire a full party of adventurers before taking on any challenges (just speak to Humaire once first). Challenges will provide extra gold (50k) and experience. These rewards are repeatable, but your party will reach Lv19 in the later parts of the campaign even if you only do the mandatory challenges. Vendors will sell unique loot and large quantities of all consumables and misc items: Caretta will sell all (non-SSS) Unique Armor and Weapons. Winge will sell all Grimoires, Scrolls, Trinkets and Unique Accessories. (Note that Winge is available after the first challenge.) Neale will sell all Potions, Ingredients and Upgrade materials. Cook Corrin will sell all Drugs and Prepared Meals. (TODO: Pets, Soulbound Armor & Weapons, Bombs & Traps) Artefact-hunting challenges will be unlocked simultaneously with the ones you get from exploring Kazuwari. You can load any preexisting non-S4 playthrough while the mod is enabled, and experience vanilla behavior! (The changes to rewards and vendors only take effect if a specific flag has been set upon character creation.) To start a new non-S4 game, you only have to temporarily disable the mod (and reboot the game). Then reenable it after character creation, or whenever you go back to your S4 playthroughs. Looking for feedback! All feedback is much appreciated, in particular regarding starting gold and rewards which are currently somewhat abitrary If there are any items missing from Vendors that you think should be available (besides the ones listed TODO above), I'd be happy to hear! Feedback on Levels/Experience reward are also welcome, here are some more details on what's currently implemented: Download -> S4 - Standalone Seeker Slayer Survivor.zip Installation Download the .zip file and extract the content to your override folder. .../Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire/PillarsOfEternityII_Data/override Note that if you install and enable the mod while the game is still running, the vanilla intro scene will still be used. In that case, restart the game once and the mod will thereafter property override the intro scene. (Likewise, if you want to uninstall/disable the mod, the game must be relaunched after the mod has been unstalled/disabled for the intro scene to revert.)3 points

Me calculating when Elric will be at his most busiest and releasing the mod at that exact date:3 points

And another example today, why any deal with Russia is just a waste of paper, ink and time. Just a single day after signing the grain export deal, Russia bombed the Odessa grain terminals with Kalibr missiles3 points

Also, I've set the Artefact Challenges to unlock simultaneously with the ones you get from Kazuwari exploration (rather than right after Bloodletting). At first I was afraid it would be hard for the player to distinguish which 3 S/S/S challenges they needed to progress, if they were unlocked together with the artefact challenges all at once... Except apparently the artefact challenges also count towards unlocking the Contest of the S/S/S, so this ended up with much more clarity than I expected. I think I'm going to publish this feature as a separate mod as well. Skipping the whole tedious backtracking artefact hunting would be great for standard playthroughs too.2 points

Regarding Levels/Experience, this is what I've implemented: :: Lv 16 :: Agony of the Elements Trial of the Naga :: Lv 17 :: Memories of a Mad Man Bloodletting :: Lv 18 :: (Exploring Kazuwari) Any 3 S/S/S Challenges :: Lv 19 :: Contest of the S/S/S Battle Royale (In-Between) All challenges will grant 6000 XP and 50k cash to party. Trial of the Naga & Bloodletting will also always grant the xp needed to get to Lv17 & 18 respectively. 3x 6000xp will be enough to get from Lv18 to 19. The player can also repeat any challenges to get to lv20. Sounds good? I'll do another test run and then upload the current version2 points

For a Wizard or Monk multi w/ Barbarian, Druid, or Cipher for Changeling's Mantle, their special summons (Dichotomous Soul and the Phantom summons) do cause another "Pelt of Many Kinds" beast to appear. It seems like resummoning won't change the summon's beast, though. Also, this is probably already well-known, but Helm of the White Void + single-weapon summon of Concelhaut's draining touch + Phantom summon = great accuracy on the phantom's attack. This can be combined with the Changeling's Mantle benefit for potentially even more accuracy. EDIT: Even more reason to consider running a sorceror now... XD2 points

When we make jam, which is pretty much every year simply because we have a lot more fresh fruit and berries than we can eat, we just puree everything, then cook it with only a 1:2 ratio of fruit puree to sugar. The result is a very smooth jam that is easily spread on whatever you want it, with an incredible aroma and taste and a lot less cloying sweetness than the store-bought stuff. I just googled pictures of seedless raspberry jam, and that stuff looks like jelly good. Ugh. No thanks. It also most certainly doesn't get goopy, like, at all. There's just not enough added sugar in it. Well, maybe after a couple of years, but a little stirring will fix that. Needless to say, I also don't want chunks of fruit in my jam. That's just not my, uhm, jam. I know people who like that sort of stuff, but there's no accounting for taste, or something.2 points

Yeah, I thought the show having a strong focus on the characters and them being pretty good together was the key to making the show worth watching for me, particularly as someone who pretty adamantly refused to enjoy any anime show from that time period or beyond. A few more episodes of Yawara: A Fashionable Judo Girl. This show sort of reminds me of my experience in watching the first season of Ranma in a way - it's got stuff that's stupid and which I don't necessarily like but which I'm forgiving/accepting because I do seem to be overall enjoying the show regardless...for the moment. Like Ranma, that could be subject to change at any time, particularly given that this show has 124 episodes. Yawara received a "rival" in the form of another girl who has become dead-set on defeating her, but Yawara seems to be generally unaware of their rivalry and instead tries to treat her nicely and help her out for the most part. There was a televised local judo contest that the rival went to and dominated, and Yawara neither attended nor watched it because she was more concerned with trying to figure out how to cook a specific dish. It's silly, but that's certainly better than doing the opposite and going full "I HAVE TO BECOME STRONG AND DEFEAT HER!" or anything like that. There's also an older (i.e. early 20s) reporter guy that the show has had a focus on since the first episode that's been following around Yawara in an attempt to document her judo skills because of an incident that he was a firsthand witness to where she skilfully incapacitated someone, and...the way his character has been framed so far, you would think that the show was eventually going to try to set them up romantically, but the thought of this annoyed me so much that I looked it up and found out that's not the case - they just eventually become friends. Okay, I can accept that.2 points

Basically that Harvard and Exeter Uni scientists found that 'UBI' does more harm than good to social and economic behaviors, and in the end is making people worse off. And here is the kicker, they were shocked by the results as they all thought prior to experiment on the control group, that it would improve how people act and feel.2 points

That is really great to see it happen, congratulations ! I apologize that I won't be able to play right now. Got the usual IRL Stuff to do, new BPM version I've just started to work on, my first Tyranny run in progress that I've delayed for years... But lacking time was basically the reason why I wished so much for this very mod to exist1 point

Everything sounds great!! If minor adjustments are needed, we could see later. Putting the artifact hunting removal in an additional mod is a good idea, but for clarity, it is good to put it in the SSS standalone mod as well.1 point

I have checked that weapon. And yeah. It's a flail weapon with regular flail attack (no keyword). But every time you score a Graze/Hit/Crit in melee with ParentEquippable source, you launch an AoE attack (5m radius centered at target). That attack has Fire kw.1 point

I have nothing against Pennsylvania, especially the western half of the state, there are some lovely mountains in that region. That said, I have grown fond of the warmer weather of the south and have zero intention to move back north. I'll accept the price of more limited availability of Polish food to never shovel snow again. Anyway, pyzy attempt#2: Boiled & mashed (russet) potatoes: Finely grated raw potatoes with liquid squeezed out, plus egg: Potato flour: Bacon: The finished product: Still not the prettiest pyzy I've ever seen, but much less ugly than last time. More importantly, even more delicious. The next step is pyzy z mięsem (meat filled).1 point

The game is artistically very nice, imo. The environment is very atmospheric/dystopian. ...with occasional almost horror atmosphere. Also, more "zurks", because while they're not cute, I do find them sorta funny. Even moreso when animated and making their weird squeaking noises.1 point

Technically/ultimately, just to survive, probably not. Practically/health-wise, it could shorten lifespans by being more prone to certain conditions/diseases that would weaken us over many years. And I'm sure human tech could create artificial lights that would minimize such. Also, underground cities to avoid a worldwide 120F+ environment doesn't mean we couldn't go "outside" occasionally. Or have "sunrooms" as upper-level parks, for example. You don't need very much sun exposure at all - we're not plants.1 point

My BG1 EE adventures are progressing nicely and the game is great fun and reminds me why D&D party based RPG are overall my favorite type of RPG. I have reached Nashkel and Im still on level 1 which is fine. I have disabled Party AI because that option is for the weak and I want to manage my own battles. I have 6 people in my party that include the following (just for the record I choose party members first on there combat role and effectiveness and then on there companion quests, dialogue and Romance arcs ). The BG1 NPC mod adds some hilarious and detailed new dialogues Imoen :Shes cute but annoying at the same time, she is like a glowie on steroids Khalid : Hes fine as a tank but what a spineless obsequious toady to Jaheira. I am seriously considering letting him die just so I can try Romance her, she is hot Jaheira : She is my healer at the moment and effective in combat Vienxay : She is a mod NPC and a NE Elven Shadowmage and she is very arrogant and supercilious but useful in combat so she stays for the time being Kagain : He doesnt say much but he plays a good fighter role Further updates to follow1 point

Occasionally I read articles re: economic and other world issues re: human quality of life/anger etc and feel like we're in the beginning of our own "fall of (random name choice) Empire", so to speak. Then I go back to some cute game like Stray or mindlessly loot hunt in some action game, and ignore it all again. Also, I heard it was really hot in Great Britain recently (still?). World weather heat maps recently make most of the world look like it's on fire. Time to start working on those underground cities?1 point

Yep, Flame Naga and Dorudugan etc. convert Burn damage specifically, they don't look at any Keywords.1 point

I think fire absorbing monsters like Dorudugan don't need fire immunity at all - they will just heal from fire damage (like the player using Rekvu's cloak)1 point

8-12 Russians. Funnily enough the source for hundreds of Russians always resolves to... Girkin again, who wanted a war between Russia and the US, preferably nuclear. Hundreds may well have died, but they were locals trained by Wagner. (Basically the rebels in rif Deir ez Zor all defected to ISIS in 2014 and the loyalists were under siege in Deir ez Zor for 4 years; around 200k people. The US supported forces took a very long operational pause in the hope that Deir ez Zor city would be captured by ISIS- indeed the only ever major strike in the area by the coalition was the infamous 'mistaken identity' attack of September 2016 where they spent an hour attacking... Syrian government forces- and that would cut off the alternative land route to Iraq/ Iran along the Euphrates having already taken Al Tanf from Jordan. Didn't really care about the 200k civilians, but then they were also fine with drowning them as well. When Deir ez Zor city was relieved by the government forces Saudi bribed the ISIS aligned locals to swap sides to the SDF (coalition) with the carrot that they could keep the oil fields in the area. Oddly enough the half of the local tribes that were loyalists didn't like that much, and employed Wagner to train them up to go after the Omar field. So it was 95% local anti ISIS fighters being killed there to protect... ISIS fighters who'd swapped sides for the 3rd time)1 point

Got screwed over by a contractor today, which basically puts me months behind on my renovation which is already so late it's not even funny. The idiot even knew where the issue was, but tried to see if I wouldn't notice... I wouldn't even be that angry if the moron didn't call me immediately (probably the workers sent him a message when they saw my reaction) and start attacking me.... Can only blame my self for getting something so expensive and going with the cheaper option. Now if I blow him off, he probably won't finish the other work, but I sure as hell am not leaving it like that. FFS.1 point

From what I remember, some weapons were made elemental when the arcane archer was introduced, to offer people more weapon choices. The changes proposed by MaxQuest are basically more nerfs introduced to the vanilla game, but don't fix the main problem... Personally, the problem that bothers me the most is the fact that monsters immune to an elemental type are also immune to other damage types because of the keyword immunity. Also the same monsters take damage from the same elemental damage they're supposed to be immune if there's no keyword attached to it (lash damage for example). My solution to this problem is to make monsters immune to the respective elemental damage (by changing their armors), instead of elemental attacks (remove immunity to keywords). As for the weapons tagged as elemental I keep my previous suggestion - give them a second damage type to justify the elemental keywords, instead of removing them - or let them like they're now.1 point

Have bucket, will travel. Paper bag on head, because of course you can cat. Took me a while to notice that (a tiny robot) B-12's eyes were visible from the backpack on the cat. Which is cute. These things are not cute. They're like a cross between alien ticks and those head crab things in Halo.1 point

had a discussion earlier 'bout cookware. the following link represents a fantastic deal: https://www.costco.com/tramontina-4-quart-covered-enameled-cast-iron-braiser.product.100805469.html is a functional porcelain coated cast iron skillet with a tight fit lid. near vertical sides provide more cooking area relative to volume and this particular cookware is gonna compare extreme favorable to le creuset. I don't necessarily mind "chunks" if they're actual chunks of fruit as opposed to a vile gelatinous mass, which is what that "jam" was like. Chunks of raspberries would've been wonderful in comparison to that.0 points

I have discovered that seedless jam is apparently vile. I had not previously known this due to only ever having had jam with the seeds in it, and I certainly did not expect the difference to be so stark. It is an error that will never be repeated.0 points
