  1. Hubby's having a sudden major freak-out over the new house. It's just like what happened the last time we did this (that place was much farther away tho, with other considerations as well) - where he doesn't "feel safe." This did not occur when we bought our currently-living-in Bay Area house. He knows it's irrational/utterly unlike his normal Spock-like self but he's got some kind of trigger I guess. I am talking can't-eat/sleep//disrupts work and using his wife as a walking security blanket all day long type of stress level, way beyond normal "moving sucks" jitters. At any rate ... I suggested just moving bed/clothes and PC's (hahah gotta have those) and trial-run living up there for a month, eg, no major commitment, see if his stress level goes away or not. If not, we can rent that one instead and stay here longer, see what happens in the future. There was always the possibility he would end up not liking being 2.5 hrs. from his main office, 99% remote-work capability or not, anyway, so a spartan-trial before full-move is not a bad thing to do regardless. My poor sweetie. He gets so frustrated with himself when he knows he's being irrational, he's not used to it (unlike me, who's always a bit crazy...). It's ok, we'll figure it out.

  3. To be honest, there's also this misconception that Austrians are unfriendly to foreigners because they're foreigners. Not always true, especially in the eastern parts of Austria. People are just unfriendly, period, and even when they're nice they're unfriendly. There's a joke that's going to lose a whole lot in translation, but I'll try. A German accidentially walks over a piece of private property in Vienna. The owner yells at him: "Hey sh1thead, wanna get off my lawn? Hurry up or I'll punch you out." The German apologizes profusely for trespassing and the owner replies: "Yeah, don't sweat it, that's why I'm telling you off nicely." There's a Facebook group (called something like "Everyday Poetry") where people send in conversations they pick up on the streets or in shops, the best ones get published. Like: Customer enters a flower shop and asks "Do you sell flowers?" The owner replies with: "Lady, we sure ain't selling sandwiches." Well, you get the general idea, I guess. It's much funnier in the original language and when you're familiar with the culture.

  4. That's Ok, not feeling guilty about anything. Serbia's reaction is all about nationalism which I don't like anyway (1), because of an utter and complete **** which I don't like anyway (2) and if the collateral damage is a mining corporation I don't like anyway (3), it's a win-win-win situation as far as see. 3-0 if you want (1) - I'll spare you the long sermon about why I don't like nationalism. Tl;dr; it's a joke created around 1648 to get the gullible to accept he has to die for the benefit of the country's elite like he always has, except now he actually believes he has a stake in the outcome (2) - I'm not necessarily a stickler for rules, but I am in favour of them being applied equally. Some moron is so full of himself and believes himself important enough, that laws and rules are for suckers and not for him, only for "other people" doesn't qualify him in my book. If it had been for humanitarian reasons, come again and maybe we can talk (3) https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-55250137 a frigging shame CEO's and boards of directors never gets sentenced to the lengthy jail times they deserve

  5. this is roughly what i would recommend. i posted a build here that's hella fun, uses the energized invocation, and has a focus in explosives: unfortunately, even on story mode you won't be able to get away with doing *only* explosives or even a majority, but you can focus on it and get good utility out of it. interestingly, the cinder bomb is particularly useful for many reasons, but one of them is that the initial explosion automatically interrupts, no hit roll. so even if you suck at explosives, throwing a cinder bomb in the middle of a fight can be really useful because it'll mass interrupt a bunch of foes. obv if you do invest in explosives, actually hitting with the blind and the debuff is useful, and it also scales other bombs real well (implosion, frost, and shock are the ones that i use with high level explosion)

  6. Thanks for the recommendation, at the moment I have way too much to finish to start something new (not just anime), so... yeah, might be a while. However, I also just discovered something that's probably worth ALL of our attention. So, I'll be so bold and suggest a new watch project, there's only three episodes for now, I think, and it's a running series that has ratings so abysmal not even the anime nerd community thinks it's good (1.8/5 on Crunchyroll). World's End Harem (終末のハーレム) actual title more like "the last harem" or "final harem", but the translation is fine in context No, really. That's exactly what it is about. Here's the Wikipedia blurb: As you can see with all the links and footnotes, this really is just a copy. I'm not making this up at all. Look at this awesome screenshot (don't worry, it's censored): Seriously... seriously... I want to add that this censoring is apparently IN the video, look at the subtitles being over it. Why make an anime called World's End Harem and then censor it for TV broadcast? Also, lol, comments from reviews: Well doesn't that sound legitimately awesome. Can't wait for that to be turned into an anime. See, some character arc in there saves the manga. Yep. Bring it on, save the manga please. Save it from what? Honestly guys, I'm really close to just CTRL + A, SHIFT+DEL my entire anime folder.

  7. New Explorable Environments Note for the test: The new areas are still in active development. We encourage everyone to build in these areas for feedback and testing purposes, but please keep in mind that the terrain and objects in these areas might shift or move before the official 0.12 release. 10. The Weyc's Items are principaly focus on empowerement, and like for Sasha's Singing Smitar (with The Ranga...) or the Least Unstable Coil, the enchantements are triggering on each proc from the empowered spell. Like for most of the "buffs" in the game, the duration is prolonged instead of stacking effects in the case of, for exemple, Muse of the Mystery (robes of the Weyc for Chanter) or Attuned Channel (The Weyc's Wand).. But there are some really nice effect that was not expected in first : Omnipotence (Robes of the Weyc) provide Brilliant to nearby allies on each proc. Follower of the Obscured (the Weyc's Wand) skip the recovery on each proc *. Wael's Sight (The Weyc Wand) convert 100% of misses to grazes for each proc. * : I tested with an Empowered Pollen Patch, this is like Blade Cascade ; I suppose that is also the case with Avenging Storm but at condition to attack with weapons. For other spells the recovery is skiped periodicaly. The Weyc's items are available at the end of the game, but because I finished many time the game, I export them to get Soulbounds Items early in the game : that dont break the challenge and offer some different perspective in combat. This is the link to the topic that list the spells concerned :

  12. Carried by the Wind: Tsukikage Ran, episode 11. It seems like almost each of these can be summed up by stating that Myao is retarded, but oh boy is she ever. You'd think that'd get old after a while, but somehow it just doesn't. It keeps being funny, even though something at the back of my head tells me that laughing at the antics of the mentally handicapped is kind of wrong, but hey, she's fictional... edit: Right, forgot to mention, the rest of the episode was about how vengeance killing is stupid and Bushido is stupid, both things I can agree with.

I have been planning to do another playthrough and it seems like an update is in the works.. is it possible to update mid-playthrough or if I should just wait for the new update? If I should wait, is there a rough ETA for the update? I have been brainstorming some builds to try.. thank you in advance!

  16. OK that is a fair criticism. My memory is not what it used to be and I probably rely on it too much when making such an argument. But when a published news source states a thing as being categorically so you can be reasonably sure that is is. Not saying that is the case here but just that news sources, while always biased, are seldom outright false. Real news sources. Not Newsmax or Mother Jones. Besides, if I remember correctly the criticism of CRT are reports as just that. Not that "CRT is this or that". Every idea has it's detractors. But, like I also said it's a tempest in a teapot because almost no one is actually teaching it in public schools. At least in the places that are the most afraid of it anyway. It's just another boogeyman to scare people into voting one way or another. All I was saying was IF the criticisms of it are accurate then teaching it would be, in my exact words, self defeating to the ends it wants to reach. And I really don't care if it's taught or not. It's just something to talk about on the internet.

  19. Keaton was great (and I'm sure you're sensing the 'however' coming up), however, Keaton employed camera tricks just like Lloyd (there's a forced perspective shot about 0:41 seconds in on the video you link, and a dummy used at about 5:55, for example). Lloyd also did many of his stunts for real (its how he lost part of his hand; so when he's doing the climbing and holding on to the clock as shown in the short "Safety Last", its without a thumb and forefinger on one hand). Chaplin did as well. If you go through all three's films, you'll find gags/stunts that were performed live for the camera while others that used some form of 'effect' (forced perspective, wires, undercranking film, etc). Other comedians didn't do as many big stunts - comedy acts like the Three Stooges or Laurel and Hardy did some of the vaudeville style pratfall stunts but employed doubles or dummys for major stunt work. That said, they didn't not do those type of stunts. There were stunts like those in the Keaton video done as The Stooges did a number of ceiling drop gags, some 'live' some with dummys, for example. Keaton (70), Lloyd (77) and Chaplin (88) all lived long lives. As did most of the Stooges (Moe: 77, Larry: 72, Joe Besser: 80; Joe DeRita: 83) and Stan Laurel (74), with Shemp (60), Curly (48), and Oliver Hardy (65) passing younger than Keaton (bonus trivia, Ted Healy the comedian who became the straight man to the Stooges in his stage act and later in film died at 41). Keaton really loved the "safe in the window space from a falling wall" gag. I actually can't place the lady with the dancing eyes, but I'm sure I've seen the short before. If anyone remembers the short, let me know.

  20. Bear in mind, the in the 44 years preceding 1991, Hungary and Bulgaria were the enemy. A very existential threat. I grew up and spent my whole childhood and young years knowing my biggest enemies in this world were Poland, DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik aka "East Germany") and The USSR. Implacable foes that could not be reasoned with and not be bargained with, their only goal and reason d'etre was kill me and destroy my way of life. It takes a while to shrug off such deep seated resentment. Bogeymen have a tendency to take on a life of their own and get things attributed to them, that might not be based on anything real. Little surprise really, if people from Eastern Europe were met with resentment at best and outright hostility at worst in that time period. I'm sure nobody in Austria or Germany would have been surprised if your otherwise beautiful woman suddenly grew tentacles and yelled "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn". Heck, it was probably even expected.

  24. That is indeed such a good feature. Not related to explosives, but that's something that cinder bomb shares with Thrust of Tattered Veils (Wiz tier 1). Good thing with both is: you don't need to build your character around them at all. They are easy to get and scaling etc. doesn't matter for them. You can just have them for really cheap (using a Grimoire or via crafting etc.). And still they can have great impact in certain fights where you are so much worse off without a reliable way to interrupt.

  25. I'll just post one more thing before going to bed, and that's about the misquoted Miyazaki meme, because I usually don't like to use it. What he really did talk about was the sorry state the anime industry is in compared to how it was in the past, and that's something I can easily get behind. He blamed that on the prevalence of otakus amongst anime and managa artists (at least, I think that is what he really meant by it), creating an industry that produces what they want without having any perspective for the real world. That sounds harsh, and it probably is, but really, what else can you say when you're putting so much effort into creating your visions and then see the trash that's thrown out left and right? It's probably not enough to explain what's going on, because there's a definite trend in entertainment to producing "safe" trash all the time. Films, TV shows, video games... why would anime be any different, and apparently that trash does well enough to perpetuate its existence - but so does dime a dozen shovelware. I grew up prefering anime (without even knowing that it was anime) because it was more artistic than Western cartoons and didn't operate from what seemed to be the assumption that all its viewers are retarded. I know not all cartoons are like that, but the ones we had on TV were, by far and large, unless they were from the 60ies, like early Tom & Jerry or Bugs Bunny. It's just sad that everything's mostly trash now.

  26. It's an empty threat on my end as well, but hey... I mean... I don't know what I've done that made this pop up in my feed. There's a world of a difference between looking for the Magic User's Club lullaby and getting a trailer for this... trash.

  27. That was actually already on my watch list - I saw the first episode a while back and surprisingly thought it was pretty decent and was going to watch more at some point. I don't have an anime folder - favorite shows go into the same "Television" folder that every other normal show goes into. So I guess I can't ever threaten to delete it in an off-hand fashion, .

  29. Specifically the change for; "instead of a 3-hit combo doing 100 → 100 → 100, now it'll deal 50 → 100 → 150" Although I appreciate the idea behind the change, to be more strategic and I'm assuming as a counter to "guard cancelling", I don't believe this achieves that result and is too punishing as a consequence. Currently the only solid damage is coming on the third strike in the combo. If you have to interrupt your attack for any reason, such as blocking/parrying/missing, it prolongs a battle and puts the player into "stamina debt". i.e. swinging when you only have enough stamina for Hit 1 deals little damage, blocking hits consumes stamina, and so you're forced to tank hits directly until your bar refills to commit to a full combo again. A few users on the reddit discussion have suggested that landing a full combo be a "bonus" to damage dealt instead, modified by weapon type. Getting a full combo is easier with fast weapons, so a lower reward, while slow weapons are the opposite. I think this would achieve the effect of making completing a combo as the desired action without such a stiff penalty to individual hits. As a somewhat related suggestion; it would be nice to see more done with the "charged attack" action. Perhaps each weapon class getting a unique "move" such as an AOE ground pound from clubs or a flurry of stabs from daggers. Something you'd be committing a full stamina bar to doing for a big result.

  35. I played NWN2 many times, but I would consider my 3.5e knowledge to be basic. I always found it to be convoluted and not rewarding to learn - complicated but not complex kind of design. Pathfinder seemed to be on another level, with illogical exceptions, spells requiring one very particular counterspell (which is normal for D&D but becomes unweildy due to how much junk like that Pathfinder had). I suppose the downside of Kingmaker for me was it's determination of testing player's encyclopedic knowledge of Pathfinder while other D&D and D&D-like titles are more interested in campaign allowing lack of understanding of the system to slide. Heck, playing PoE1 on Hard, I wasn't forced to dive deep into the systems until I started to tackle hardest, optional encounters in the game. It helps that in PoEd figuting an encounter was saved for elite encounters - rewarding narratively and item wise. Pathfinder required it for a trash encounter, that then it would copy paste throughout 3 levels of a dungeon.

Anyways, I've never had to wear glasses before but might soon. I recently failed a vision test because my left eye is blurry. I wonder if it's maybe due to the rona, because I did not even notice an issue before I took the test. Of course it could be an ongoing thing, but who usually walks around testing their eyes individually? Still, I hope I don't cone across as one of those geek chic folks. I'll try! Anyways....I watched a ton of GioGio’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind. The gang goes to Capri then ends on on a road trip to Venezia where they crash several vehicles on the way, because even when JoJo is also DIO taking transportation ends badly. This is just great. Golden Wind represents the fall of gym gods and the rise of the twink in Araki's art style, but what really stands out is the use of eye popping color palates. The stands manage to take the urgency of Stardust Crusaders and merge it with the insanity of Diamond is Unbreakable for a ride that feels fast paced and high stakes while also very ****ing weird. There's been a couple scenes that could fall under fan service, but it feels more like Polnareff's buffonery than that.

  41. I just realized there's something I haven't talked about yet in the wake of spending a whole lot of time post about other stuff in this thread. Watched the second episode of Magic User's Club TV series earlier today. Here's what happens: Nanaka has a fight with her mother after she refuses to go to a teacher and parent talk at school, while Sae's parents make the time to come from their farm at Hokkaido in the middle of harvest season. Nanaka leaves home and visits Sae with her luggage in tow, stating that she'll be staying over night and possibly longer. Some dialogue with Sae's sister makes it clear that this is something that happens with some regularity as she simply says they can give Nanaka her usual room (well, here's how you do exposition). Sae and Nanaka talk about their respective families and after Sae is a little annoyed that Nanaka just shows up and behaves like she owns the place and they start fighting when Akane appears out of the blue after a shooting (right, for that to make sense, Akane is a part time model, and most of the men she's going out with she meets at her job). Akane and Sae end up cooking dinner for everyone, and Akane brought three pieces of savarin (a french cake). They talk a bit about Akane's job and how she didn't take someone's dinner invitation this day. Nanaka and Sae make up, everyone's eating and having a great time until they figure out that three cakes is not enough when Sae wants to leave some for her sister. Akane suggests magic to fix the issue and they attempt duplicating the cakes. Instead, the cake they try this on simply starts expanding up to a point where it threatens to kill everyone in the room. Actually, the cake almost manages to choke the three and makes Nanaka realize that she's sorry that she'll die such an ignominious death on bad terms with her family, and then some random magic working through Sae's wand makes it explode. Covered in sticky goo, the three have a hearty laugh while they watch hundreds of miniature savarin fly through the room. They end up in a bathtub together, but only because they pushed each other in, fully clothed. Nanaka gets up early to bring her family some of the cakes, and Sae walks with her for a bit, when Sae goes back, she meets the mysterious magical figure again that appeared after they saved the giant cherry tree from the military last episode. Everything I've described here was full of nice character moments, was well written, had some nice animation and was thankfully free of silly fanservice, and that includes a scene with all three of them in the same bathtub. So what's the rub? There HAS to be something, right? I mean... this is Magic User's Club, is it not? Indeed it is, so before they attempt to duplicate the cake and almost kill themselves in the process, Sae calls Takeo at home to ask if it is okay to use magic to copy cakes for her sister. Takeo's sister is bringing him the phone, opening the door to his room while we're once again treated to DIO's voice and Takeo's moans. This time Takeo is doing situps to get in shape. While talking to Sae, Sae mentions that Nanaka and Akane are visiting and that they want to do something taboo and wonder if it is all right, and of course Takeo gets a nosebleed while he's imagining... well, I doubt I need to spell that one out, but in case I have to: He ends up being a bit annoyed when Sae says it's about duplicating cake with magic, and tells her it is okay when they think of it as training. So, we're two for two with the silly gay joke. I hope that's not going to become a running gag. Sigh. Anyway, this was an episode where a fantastic 21 minutes of runtime are ruined by a two minute phone call. The worst part about this is I'm feeling a little like Captain Sisko at the end of In The Pale Moonlight: Because if this is the quality of the upcoming episodes vis à vis the fanservice in them, then... I'm actually looking forward to the next one. Save me, please.

  42. I finished 255 forks now. In the process my carpet now is partly beige/brown, as is the sleeve of my cardigan (after I probably hadn't shaken the spray can well enough before doing a beige/brown undercoat for a few forks and the paint hit my sleeve and the floor behind me). I also have a light blue pattern on the laminate after not having cleaned the nozzle of another spray can before using it, resulting in the paint spraying sideways out of the can. By the end of this I'll have a colourful apartment one way or the other.

  43. Yes, the Weyc's stuff is pretty cool. Also because you can be a Chanter/Druid or /Wizard or /Priest and empower a cool non-chanter spells in some fights - and then get the empwoer points all back with the Scimitar if you empower an invocation in the next fight. I think they introduced some of the DLC items that focus on empower because that "per-rest" mechanic was mostly unused in the vanilla game (unless you has Sasha's Singing Scimitar as a Chanter maybe).

  44. Hello everyone, I have a few suggestion which i think could be added later in the game: - The possibility to reset milk molar with BURGL by spreding science - Buy more inventory "square" from BURGL - The possibility of buying an upgrade that would add equipment to the face, such as the blindfold or the gas mask, in addition to the helmet - Make full armor for the Hedge Broodmother, wich would make "neutral" all spiders except wolf-spiders For bug, i've 2: - The first, are the quest indicator for the "access the assistance manager restricted lab sectors" doesn't disappear when i have already opened everything - The second is at the forge, which indicate improving the weapon to lvl6 with +65% whereas after improvement the indicator always indicates +60% Thanks for reading and have a nice play !

  45. Let me start with saying that I really love this game - I've put hours and hours into building my bases, and it's helped me get through a lot of my struggles with scary animals attacking me in games by sheer force of how much I want to play it despite the scary spiders. However, it seems like some of the resources available are really underutilised (probably because it's still in EA, which is fair). For me, the biggest example of this is koi scales! They're a difficult resource to locate, but they're the prettiest one, and would be pretty hardy and handy - but all we can use them for is a suit of armour that doesn't seem to even have a lot of practical use. It seems like a waste. I would love to be able to use them as decorative items, like being able to mount them on the walls, but I think the best use of them would be as roofing material. There are a few reasons that I think this would be a really good idea to implement: - They're uncommon and hard enough to access that it would take a lot of farming to collect them. The crow feather roofs are something I never personally use, because there are too many other uses for crow feathers and they're extremely hard to collect, but koi scales (while still being balanced by the difficult access and limited amount of collection per day) are a reliable resource, making it much easier to use koi scale roofs in large bases. - It would be an excellent way to keep people using the pond, which is a biome I personally love exploring! SO much work has obviously gone into this biome, and it's so beautiful, as well as offering interesting challenges that other biomes don't. Once you run out of things to explore in it, though, there's not much use in diving back in, except maybe for tadpole meat. Having to regularly go into the depths to dig out koi scales for base building seems to me like a good way to prolong the pond experience. - I know the devs have weather events planned eventually, and koi scales would be the perfect rain or raindrop proof roofing material - they're sturdy enough to be used as armour, and they naturally overlap each other while on the koi, so they would fit together well. Add a little clay and voila! - It would look so pretty! It's obvious that a LOT of thought has gone into the aesthetic of this game, and one glance at the reddit forum shows how many people love basebuilding in it. Adding a really gorgeous roofing option would be the cherry on top for a lot of people, and koi scales would be the perfect material. I'm not sure how much attention is paid to this forum, or if this is even an idea that's new (it makes too much sense to me to not be something that's at least been considered by the dev team), but if this does happen to be seen, it would make at least this player really happy to have something to do with all their pretty koi scales. Thanks for your time and the amazing game you're making!

  46. Given that they are most likely separate effects from original ability, I guess it would be easy to add them the "Imbue" Keyword.
