Fun facts about California and Hurlshot, we both support the 2nd amendment fully. I don't need guns myself because I can outrun bullets, but my wife used to skeet shoot competitively and I have a fair amount of friends who are hunters. What I would love to see if a change in gun culture in this country. It is ridiculous how we glamorize them. They are dangerous tools and should be treated as such. The NRA should be the first to reinforce that notion. Also, California is too expensive. Crowding varies widely depending on the area. But it is a beautiful state and I love it dearly. If it wasn't so expensive I would never leave. It is a political mixed bag like everywhere else. Speaking of politics, I was pulled over by a sheriff yesterday for slow rolling through a stop sign on my road bike. We were so close! https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billStatusClient.xhtml?bill_id=202120220AB122 No ticket, just a warning. He also said I should not take up the whole lane going 5 miles an hour. First off, I was going 20, so thanks for the dig Officer. Secondly, I do have the right to the lane when there is no bike lane. We were coming up on a blind curve and it was unsafe for him to try and pass. But I didn't argue because it was clear he was not going to get out of his cruiser in the drizzling rain and write a ticket. This was also on a sparsely travelled backroad, so I'm guessing he was just bored.7 points

Like wizard's phantoms, Watery Double from Watershaper druid summon a copy of the druid (without any mod, Tekehu ), with all the items, armor and weapons. But this copy is controlable, giving the access to every abilities from items, armor, or weapons. Living illusions from Shroud of phantasm for potential unlimited and fast "Effort and Unstable Coil Bomb" (if Tekehu is brilliant), another Int immunity from Harmony ring, etc , but above all a free use of abilities from Trinkets, like Winter Veil, Fusion, or Petrifying Venom (a per-rest version of Petrification). (the littles spiders and croco are from the Changeling Mantle and stay until combat end, contrarly to the Maura's Tentacles that disapears at the end of the Watery Double) Edit: finally, the Watery double is only controlable with BPM3 points

This is not really the same trick but this is the same idea, even if more tedious obviously. You need two characters for that : the first with the Cabalist's Gambeson and a potion of the Form of the Fearsome Brute, and the second with Glacierbane (and a low int if you want to go quickly). When your fisrt character is fully buffed as you want, he have to drink the potion. Directely after that, your second one need to crit him with Glacierbane, Shattering suspend all beneficials effects for a short time (6s base). The potion is also suspended, the character is now equiped with the Cabalist's Gambeson. After the Shattering effect fades, do the same : crit, wait, crit, ect. The +10% is applied each time, and while Shattered, the beneficials effects are, well, suspended. That can be useful with some uniques or limited buffs, or for ressources economy, during a long fight for exemple. That doesnt work with Spiritshift, since suspending that will clear off the form.3 points

Oh I can only imagine the carnage one could do if Essential Phantom were controllable. One of my only complaints about my recent Geomancer run was that try as I might the Phantom would often target things I didn't want it to. It was still really good despite that. I wonder if things like Ngati's tusk aura stack with Tekehu's watery double. I think Willbreaker/Saru Sichr do so already that could be a good combo for Tekehu + pet to hit enemies with. Guess the only issue there is Tekehu's accuracy probably isn't super high with the classes he gets. If he could multi with Ranger that'd be nice.2 points

The mig-25 was made to counter hypersonic bombers that the US never made. I mean the US outright stole the technology for a supersonic plane from the British. It's a great myth that China is the biggest thief of tech in the world, the US was caught numerous times stealing tech, from it's own allies even, they just have better PR. Where do you think the Titanium the Blackbirds were made off came from? edit: I forgot about operation Paperclip. edit2: Supersonic not hypersonic.2 points

probably less so than a couple years past. retirement took some edge off, but then again the trump years has been so unbelievable that is hard to pretend indifference, although gd does the ostrich bit with impressive verve. regardless, we decided we just don't have the need to do the sisyphus schtick. we got a few people on ignore and will likely add a few names. past due. easier. HA! Good Fun!2 points

That's the US for you. Ready and armed to fight yesterday's war. Not tomorrows. That's why I REALLY hope China does not invade Taiwan. That goes one of two ways: They invade and the rest of the world does nothing. They invade and the US and other powers intervene which will all but guarantee escalation and the probable use of nuclear weapons. The former guarantees war right now. The latter guarantees war in the near future because unchallenged aggression begets more aggression. The only way there is no war in the Pacific is if the status quo is maintained.2 points

I think you'd be surprised how many people on this forum know Boney M. At least ra ra Rasputin, lover of the Russian queen should be familiar to most.2 points

Jesus H. Christ please don't tell me that someone made a clock out of one of those records. edit: Okay. It's done. Dear god. What was is that @Bartimaeus wrote after watching Madoka? Anime isn't just cancelled, it never existed. Yep.2 points

Another great find! I wonder if it's possible to make the double merge multiple times with the same character for unlimited PL. Anyway, being able to use the powerful effects from the trinkets every fight is already huge.2 points

I have every one of their ten albums plus all the singles. All on CD, as is my entire music collection of about 270 CDs. Growing up in Sri Lanka in the 1970s and early '80s, the sole English language radio channel in the country played a lot of great Western rock and pop music, but overwhelmingly European than American because as a former British colony everything was much more Anglo-centric. So ABBA got played a LOT (along with another very popular group called Boney M, a Jamaican group but from Germany), and I spent many hours in the afternoons after getting home from school listening to ABBA on the radio while dreaming of someday living in the West.2 points

have literal watched nothing new in trek verse since we saw 1.3 episodes of discovery. couldn't help but feel like the showrunners musta' been subversive fight club fans. yeah, am aware the current trek creative folks is not genuine trying to destroy decades worth o' good will and a legacy o' tv quality (even the bad trek shows had great episodes) but it nevertheless feels like the current people directing the trek universe dislike trek and hate trek fans. HA! Good Fun!2 points

Update: Huh, the fly won. I thought it was done, it even stopped struggling for a while, now it just broke free and flew off. The spider is gone too, so no idea what happened. Tsk. Just can't get any decent help these days, huh? Now where's that fly swatter at...2 points

Oh the maths aren't terrible. They aren't great either. If no other graze to hit, it is equivalent to 7,5 accuracy, which sounds ok until ou realize it is only applicable to graze range. It does nothing for miss to graze or hit to Crit. So vaguely half or a third of those 7,5 acc. Things get worse if Aware/Intuitive is active cause Graze to Hit stacks multiplicatively. So in that case it is equivalent to 3,75 acc divided by half or a third. Negligible in this case. So it's an ability which is isn't too great in favorable circonstances and bad in very common circonstances for the class it belongs... That's why I'm suggesting 30% miss to graze. While the maths are the same Vs defense equivalent to your acc, it stacks better with PER inspirations and provides fighter with something unique (bar some items) : an ability to hit foes with super high defenses... Which fits fighters extremely well.2 points

Like malus from modals, same auras don't stack, but same effects like retentless or others actives debuffs that ordinary dont stack with themself can be applied many times in same moment. For them, same effects from same weapon dont stack if I am clear Actually, you can choose the Tekehu subclass with a mod for yourself or hired character, and another mod grant you the possibility to pick the "uniques spells" at level up. I use this one for my "builds save" but not for regular play1 point

My favorites were "Rivers of Babylon," "Brown Girl in the Ring," and "Malaikka" (sp?). Never did care for Rasputin myself. I just liked the songs that have a lot of Caribbean steel drums because I love that sound.1 point

Yes. Not sure if it is really a myth that they are the biggest thieves, currently And being hypocritical is a part of being a powerful country, or just having a dog in the fight.1 point

Hehe, yeah any group that was internationally big in the 70s or 80s is in my collection. A lot of Cliff Richard, and among US groups definitely John Denver, and also Leo Sayer, Simon & Garfunkel, and so many more. Maybe we should start a 70s and 80s international rock/pop music thread. As for life in the US, I definitely cannot complain as I have had a very successful career and am financially in great shape. And especially since many of the kids I went to school with are sadly no more, killed in the war years in one way or the other. That could just as easily have been my fate. But I have wondered if I would want to come and live here if I were a young kid today. The answer is definitely not the resounding 'yes' from my youth. I know this will upset some people here, but the US I arrived at in '86 was so much a better place than the US I'm living in right now. Materially, things are much better today of course. But morally, spiritually, and especially socially, not so much imho.1 point

Yeah, that's one of those that I tried to watch but wanted to kill myself five minutes into and just turned off instead of going through with it. Hopefully that doesn't happen to you. I only figured out who "Cherry" was when you mentioned him moving away. Suffice to say, this film did not leave too much of an impression. Maybe I'll just unrate it entirely and call it a day...1 point

It's also a lot more cost effective for the Chinese to put a small amount of money into stealing the tech from the US than it is to research it themselves. In a sense, the USA is funding China's research game..1 point

Great story, I also know Boney M. We listen to them every Christmas and they part of our Christmas song collection along with the likes of John Denver You the first person I have ever met on any forum who knows Boney M. Its amazing how we can have things in common with people that you chat to on a forum like this that are not just about gaming and politics So how so you feel about living in the USA now, any regrets overall? Im glad you achieved that part of your life goals1 point

*looks out the window* - it's been rainy a lot. I like rain. Maybe I should go for an umbrella walk out in it. *turns on a game modded to rain all the time with some rain and wind video as background noise, instead* ...real life doesn't have (legally accessible) loot around every corner. Also, it's cold out there.1 point

But Hobbled from the confused Footsteps remove the Swift inspiration ; this is why the barbarian sprint is really good, it is swift in separate package. As a warlock soulbind with Seeker's fang, you get permanently an immunity to engagement while confused, or when hit ennemies with the footsteps in other hand.1 point
