  1. I never saw Transformer's the Movie in the theaters*, but another film that turned 35 years old this year (in July though...not in August), well that I DID see in theaters. And that I rewatched in honor of that milestone... *actually I've never seen Transformers: The Movie anywhere...

  2. Ability text is mostly copied straight from pnp. In Kingmaker I believe this caused some confusion for an ability that was misprinted in pnp that ended up being corrected, but I forget the details. For the Slayer, in pnp the talents they share with Rogue often say "the rogue can" instead of specifying "the slayer can" or "the character can". With combat style talents it says "the slayer selects a ranger combat style". So you can blame Paizo for that. The rest of it is probably to save time.

  3. Yesterday my wife and I raced in the Santa Cruz 70.3 Ironman. I had done this race 3 years ago when I was still pretty new to triathlon, so I was interested to see how it would go. This was also my wife's first big triathlon. She had done a couple short ones, but the pandemic cancelled the races she was going to do to prepare for this one. So after 2 years of not racing, we were both excited and nervous to toe the starting line. The swim was fantastic. Water temperature was 61 degrees, which is great for the ocean. It was a bit foggy, so you could really only see as far as the next buoy, but it is just around the Santa Cruz Pier, so there isn't any way to get lost. It was a washing machine the whole way, I was surrounded by other swimmer. But I felt good and swam pretty aggressively. I ended up shaving 2 minutes off my previous swim time for the 1.2 mile distance. This was the a part my wife was worried about. She is not a fan of ocean swimming. But she side stroked the whole time and got it done. I was so excited when I saw her later on the ride and knew she made it through the swim. The 56-mile bike was pretty tough. I got a triathlon bike this year, which is great for these races. But this is a hilly route up the coast on Highway 1 and the wind was not very favorable. I was a bit disappointed in my time, but it was still a couple minutes faster than before. Then the run was hard. I ended up 5 minutes slower than the previous race, with a half marathon of 2:04. I had been dealing with some injuries from running, so I hadn't trained as much as I wanted. The injuries didn't bother me, but I didn't have the legs for a better pace. I still finished 4 minutes faster than my first time, coming in at 5 hours and 51 minutes. It felt great to get it done. I threw up immediately afterwards, but was recovered enough to go cheer my wife on over her last half mile. She finished in 7 hours and 48 minutes. Here is me trying to get my shoes on after the swim for the 1/2 mile run to transition. Despite the extra 2 hours, my wife was way fresher at the end than I was.

  4. I have played through the new Life is Strange yesterday. Before I go on with a huge rant, I want to say that the game is not terrible. It has its moment and I did not regret having bought and played it. With that said .... ... oh boy, where do I even start. This is really hard for me to put into words without having it look like disconnected ramblings, so let's begin with the obvious and see where it leads. This whole game is like... a masturbatory hipster fantasy. Holy ****, it's so over the top, there was more than just one moment where the cringe wanted to make me puke in a bucket. The game is set in the year 2019, in a small mining town, they have a vinyl record shop (I have found 3 vinyl players in different houses), of course it has an indie movie theatre, the whole town looks like what a hipster thinks utopia is like. There's fancy flower pots and stuff all over the place, and nobody is littering. I've already noted it when the first trailer came out -- the whole town looks like a creepy cult site because it's just not real. If this location would be real, it would be the most fakest town ever, and I guarantee the people living there must all be neighbors from hell. While yes, LiS1 (I haven't played LiS2) also has its fair share of hipster stuff, it was still 100 times more down to earth than what this game is doing. It's like they had a huge checklist of hipster stuff and worked through it from a to z. The next point on my list is the dialogue. Everything feels so off. There are lots of awkward pauses up to a point where I wondered if they forgot to correctly master the cutscenes. These awkward pauses underlined with a creepy teeth-smile that every character has, makes it feel like you are interacting with aliens who pretend to be humans. Holy crap, maybe that's why the town is so creepy? I cross-checked this with Before the Storm (played the first chapter yesterday), as that game was also made by Deck Nine, and the difference is huge. Here the dialogue is fast paced, smooth, and never awkwardly creepy unless it is supposed to be like that. So... what the hell went wrong in True Colors? Who the hell thought that this is good??? Surely someone at least in QA must have noticed it?? What also made me want to vomit is the whole "empath"-thing. This is not hyperbole, I hate it so much, it's just disgusting. Feels like the game is trying to cater to a very specific kind of people. How should I put that in words... you know, some people see themselves as "empaths" -- they pretend to be able to read "the aura" of people and their emotions. Now the thing is, I had experience with people like this, and they are almost always disgustingly self-absorbed narcissists. If you want a YouTube drama example of such a person, google "Shane Dawson empath" and you get the gist of it. The game just kept making me think about this and in turn I couldn't take it serious. At one point Steph says how cool it is that Alex (the player character) is an empath and that she always wanted to have an empath friend... NO YOU DON'T. This is where the game shifted into crazy territory for me. Self-proclaimed empaths are nutters and you want to stay away from them unless you really need that added touch of drama in your life. That said, the story itself holds up quite well and feels more down to earth and "real" because it doesn't really feature any unbelievable supernatural events, etc. In theory you could remove the whole empath thing and the story would still be playable. While it wasn't anyting epic etc. I thought it was done pretty nicely and I really don't have anything to complain about that. The characters are almost all well written and likable. This time I even almost sided with the male romance option, which is probably a first for me. Still ended up with Steph, though, because I'm horny, not gonna lie. (The romance is pretty toned down this time. No naked sexytime or similar. I almost wouldn't even call it a deep relationship .. more like, the very early beginnings, which probably helps making it feel more real and less forced (like Rachel Amber and Chloe, who went the "I love you"-route after knowing each other for a couple hours).) I also like how much they got out of the few actual maps that the game has. There's just like... I dunno, 10 different maps or so, but they all look nice and feel like they serve a purpose. Nothing is there "just because". However, the outside map has issues with invisible walls and unnaturally blocked off roads. This kinda reminded me of the maps in The Last of Us 2, which also had really crappy map borders... would have been easy to fix it, dunno why someone decided the stuff has to look this bad. Most of my complaints are from the first and second chapter. The first chapter was *way too slow* ... seriously... all these awkward pauses and badly edited cutscenes that make you cringe like there is no tomorrow. The second chapter finally had things going, but now the game is rushed and you are supposed to care about people that you don't even know. With the third chapter (~ half of the game) it finally picks up and I started to really enjoy it. The final "end battle" was well written and the emotional impact was immense. The actual ending, however, was way too long and ruined it all again, which sucked hard. Not sure how much the story choices actually matter in this game, but I like that they always made me stop and consider what the possible outcome might be. It also made me think about the moral aspect of my actions. To give an example, there is a scene where you have the option to "remove" the anger emotion of a person. The game heavily implies that this will help the person and make everything better, but me personally, it made me stop and think ... should I really be doing that? After all, doing this would be disgustingly manipulative, which brought me back to the further above mentioned "empath" thing -- people manipulating other people for personal gain. It's just wrong. Now I have no clue what would happen if I had done it, but the game later rewarded me with a pretty nice scene and a honestly really good outcome (tl;dr -- you have to let people heal on their own and not manipulate them into it). Of course if I would be getting the same scene after sucking out all the anger, I'd trash the hell out of this game for being such garbage. Anyways ... as I initially said, the game isn't completely terrible. The story is interesting and feels "real", the characters are well written, and the conflicts are well done too. It's just that they went so overboard with all this hipster stuff that the game world feel like a fever dream. I 100% guarantee you, if this location would be real, everyone living there would actually be a terrible person. The weird dialog editing and the lacklust performance of the voice actors at times (another issue with the editing?? No directed recording sessions?) also doesn't really help it. There's more I could write about the game, but I have a hard time focusing and getting everything in order (sadly I'm just not a good writer). So I'll just keep it at that... Probably not going to replay the game anytime soon (or ever?) unless they add an option to skip dialog (oh yeah, you can't skip dialog, I tried). Yadda-yadda, the music was nice.

  6. Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop. Something this sweet was a real change of pace from whatever the hell Utena was. Which was great. It's very bright, @Bartimaeus and @Sarex were not kidding about that. Once you get used to it though it does look good. There is a kinetic energy that emphasizes the silly aspects quite well, like BEAVER! getting chased by mall cops. The framing is top notch, this is a movie that treats animation like animation and really uses it to the most benefit. As to the plot and characters, it's mostly a slice of life teenage romance which is not something I would usually go looking for but it works here. Without spoiling anything, none of the characters are Shinji tier introverts or robots like Anthy, just some weird kids and an old man looking for a record. It does a pretty good job of showing rather than telling and the payoffs feel nice. Overall I'd say it's good. A nice drive at a reasonable speed that doesn't go anywhere unpleasant or turn so hard you get vertigo. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to watch a lighthearted movie and can adjust to getting hit with a very bright color palate.

  9. Correct. And this can't be changed (not easily at least) I can confirm this is because of a missiing Keyword. I've spotted it a couple of weeks ago. I didn't change because adding Fire Keyword to a status makes it Countered by Hostile Water/Ice and the opposite. Didn't want to mess with that. What can be done is to add the KW to the fire attack itself. This should work, I will try.

  11. The satchel quest from the bathhouse. I thought I failed it in my initial playthrough because when he got discovered he ran away. She asked me why I didn't catch him, so I thought this quest was intended by catching him. So this time I surrounded him on all sides, and when he ran, I could click him when he tried to run by one of my companions. But there was no dialogue or him stopping... ... so I thought I was supposed to hurt him to make him stop running. But that turned him AND the other lady both hostile. So I had to murder them in the street. The quest woman got critted so hard it was raining chunks of bloody flesh. Then it dawned on me, stupid as I am apparently. It's not only that death is permanent when trying to do triple crown. I can't believe I'm this slow in the head, but EVERYTHING YOU DO is permanent! Every choice and its consequences, even non-death ones, if I mess them up. I can't fix it lol. Triple Crown is already a real thrill! But damn... **** just got real when the flying bloody remains of the quest giver rained down from the sky and I realized... I can't fix this.

  12. @Gorth It's somewhat the same here up North, but I'd say the smaller parties have a decent degree of influence though, since the biggest parties are often reliant on them in coalitions to win elections. Meaning they have to concede some of the overall power to them if they want their support. Or are you talking about the absolute looney extremes? They're completely marginalized here too, luckily. Our threshold is 4%, so it's a bit harder for them to overcome it. It's actually election day in Norway today, seems like we'll have a Left-Centre government for the first time in 8 years. Not that it will change much (I think). The two biggest parties here, The Social Democrats (Arbeiderpartiet) and Right (Conservatives) actually see eye to eye on pretty much everything important except on taxes.

  13. I could write even more. Such as your character barely talking about making music, but then in the end they are suddenly all like "but you always wanted to do music and sing on stage!" ... and I'm here like, what, when the hell did that happen?? Also that's another point on the hipster list... becoming a big name artist with your acoustic guitar alone on stage, as if that is the most normal thing in the world. That feels like someone was projecting hard while writing this. If I had to rate the game from 0 to 100, I would probably do something like 70. It's not a bad game and if one likes the first game (I haven't played the second, so can't compare), chances are good that one will like this one too. It's just that all this over the top perfect world hipster stuff and the issues with the dialogue timings are just ugh. The "empath" stuff is a stain as well, but I don't remove that many points for it, because thanks to the way of the story, it can mostly be waved away as bad writing. That said, I am using "hipster" as a negative in all of this. Personally I don't mind hipster stuff, hell I'm probably half one as well and there is lots of stuff that I like about it. It's really just that the game is basically exterminating everything else and hipster is everywhere. It's simply too much. It reminds me of danger hairs and mentally unstable people who see themselves as perfect and open, but are actually just self-absorbed idiots who you want to keep away from. It's a hipster circle-jerk. The funny thing is, I could never write that in any dedicated LiS board (or reddit sub) without getting downvoted into oblivion, because many of exactly these people are hanging around there and will feel personally attacked. Heh.

  14. just a suggestion for additional curve floor option. Maybe you can flip it so it'll have a concaved floor instead? This'll allow us to fill the floor at the opposite corner of curved walls or allow the option for curved holes on the ceiling or floor.

  15. But that's the way politics works in the USA now: the two parties are so far apart that political oscillation can't be avoided. You get your left/right-wing President in office with control of Congress, and you get a year to ram through your left/right platform. Then the next election cycle kicks in and it's stalemate for 3-7 years, whereupon the pendulum swings to the opposite extreme. Even a moderate Biden is trapped in this cycle. I think the fix is to change the pluralistic voting scheme to a method that's more tolerant of multiple candidates, such as approval voting or ranked choice. That gives moderate candidates a greater chance of winning office.

  16. On the other hand, you shouldn't really let "what about what the other guy did first" be an excuse for not holding those accountable who makes those (deadly) mistakes... whether it be the operator, the hardware or more likely an intelligence failure. As for global coverage, you and I both know media (including social media) is business first and foremost. Ratings matter. The more viewers and readers you can attract, the happier the advertisers and sponsors are, regardless of who gets thrown under the bus. That's free market economy too

  17. Yes , of course all subclasses are good in their owns. I just found the Beguiler to be my personal 'best' for the base game. Honestly, I don't really like the DLC content, where there are very long battles, not in the base game, are to be found. That being said, I do enjoy the Mega boss fights! I think Beguiler works well for a caster/support type character. For a Main Character Witch, you can go in a lot of directions. I think soul blade is an excellent choice. Barbarians run out of 'rage' rather quickly, so I would learn into some key cipher skills.

  19. You remember that list of shows I said "these were also suggested but they clearly weren't for me even at a glance"? What I didn't say was that there was actually a third list made by people who clearly did not listen to a gosh danged word that I said and just suggested random crap that they liked. Here, I'll compile them for you real quick: Kuragehime (2011, josei and not shoujo?), Sukitte Ii na yo (2012, not shoujo?), Kobato (2009, seinen), Mawaru-Penguindrum (2011, IKUHARU, not shoujo?), Kimi ni Todoke (2009), City Hunter (???), Ranma 1/2 (???), Beyond the Boundary (???), Bloom Into You (???), After the Rain (???), Madoka Magica (!?!?!!!?!??!!!)... My specific asks were "pre-2000s or just about", "shoujo", and "I love the original Sailor Moon and the original Cardcaptor Sakura", and somehow people recommended those. I kindly thanked everyone individually for their suggestions, because at least they put some time and thought into replying and coming up with some suggestions, but really, there was a lot of junk to parse through in the replies, . Essentially, I just bookmarked everything that looked interesting that I might want to check out even if they weren't quite the fit I was looking for. Suffice to say, there are dummies in every community, . Historical drama is something I really have to be in a specific mood for...and boy, does that sound veery historical drama-y. Looks like I won't be trying Rose anytime soon, . Keep in mind that my entire logic is predicated upon "which would seem less weird and bad for someone who hasn't already seen either" which I think would be the SuperS episode...but for someone who's already been subjected to SuperS, it's almost definitely the Michiru + Haruka episode. Yes, even myself: I'm pretty sure I'd rather seen the Michiru + Haruka episode now than just about any except maybe the 3-5 best SuperS episodes...but that's because I've already seen (the majority of) the terror that is SuperS, while I was never subjected to 40 variations of that particular S episode, . If I had been subjected to 40 straight variations of that S episode, I...probably would've just straight up started skipping through entire episodes until I got through it because I would've been completely bored out of my mind to the point of not wanting to watch the show anymore otherwise.

  20. Being rather fond of the cipher class, I must say that I have enjoyed playing all of the subclasses, each of which has their strengths and weaknesses. Beguiler is "best" for spamming deception spells at mobs. It doesn't do quite as well, however, against tough bosses. Psion on the other hand, with their continual focus generation, shines in the boss fights, particularly in parties or solo with good summons to take the aggro. Ascendent is great if you like the DPS caster approach, spamming damage powers while ascended. Their weakness is having to regenerate focus when ascension wears out, but this isn't too much of a problem, since they gain focus so quickly, as Elric Galad pointed out. Soul blade is great if you like the melee approach. I'd say it's "best" simply because I like this play style the most, but this is a personal decision of course. Soul blades can get godlike DPS with the seeker's fang and their potentially very high max focus, which can be extended with the Strand of Favor by those fond of cheese.

  21. The mutations tied to improving weapon damage are currently tied to a flat number of enemies killed, and the number required is incredibly large if you're playing as a group and someone else is largely in charge of food. A player can progress to the point where they're in full ladybug gear, with tier 2 weapons without ever realizing weapon skills exist, because killing a gnat in 1 hit gives the same value as killing a ladybug whose hp has been buffed by having 4 people hitting it, or the literal broodmother. It should be noted that the ladybug's hp is massively boosted by having multiple people on its aggro table (a problem in and of itself, that I'll make a separate topic for), but only 1 person can last hit it for credit. 4 people killing a lady bug together get proportionally 1/4 of the value of a single player smacking a gnat a single time. It would be much preferred if the game instead tracked damage dealt per weapon type, and scaled mastery acquisition based off of that instead. It feels a bit ludicrous that you reasonably quickly reach a point where killing strong enemies doesn't give you much gain, but killing swarms of mites gives you tons of progress toward your lategame goals. By changing the mutations to track total damage dealt, no matter what combat style you choose, you will be progressing mastery. If you want to jump at orb weavers the second you make your first shield you can, without undermining your ability to actually use your weapons effectively. It also ensures that when your friend hits an enemy with a sliver of life, and it's healed for 30% of its max hp instantly and goes from 1 shot range to 8 shot range because of the aforementioned hp boost (a mechanic that has killed me on several occasions), you at least get something out of the suddenly much harder to kill opponent.

  22. I'd say a simple solution is to make it based on total damage done with said weapon. 1k = tier 1, 2.5k = tier 2, 5k = tier 3. This would also allow harvesting to count toward damage mastery.

  23. I second @Elric Galad above -Beguiler is the better subclass for me. You generate focus so quickly from casting deception spells, even as a multiclass character, that you always have focus. I found myself having more focus than I needed, so I think beguiler is the best choice. BTW - this is good witch guide for Serafen https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1399216139

  25. Lady Asuka, episode 2. Normally, in such a case, I'd not bother with what's potentially going to be a long winded post with a tinge of woe is me, which if you find it in the coming words, is kind of intentional. Two episodes out of forty is also not really enough to form a firm opinion, or predict everything, especially when the series director was changed after episode 18, however, I kind of feel the need to type up words for the benefit of probably absolutely no one except me, and maybe @Bartimaeus. There are some spoilers in this post, but I'll not mark them, because they're either obvious, don't matter or are historical facts. If you're bothered, don't read on. First of all, Lady Oscar's actual name is Oscar François de Jarjayes, which is such a handful that I'll from now on be calling her Asuka. In the second episode, Marie Antoinette arrives at Versailles, and is immediately unhappy with the looks and demeanor of Louis Auguste de Bourbon, her future husband. The plot of the episode revolves around a ridiculous kidnapping attempt where a boy with a wig pretends to be Marie Antoinette, and Asuka is the only one who notices that it's just a really pretty boy in women's clothing. Probably because she's a girl in men's clothing, right? She follows the actual Marie Antoinette who takes her swap with what she thinks is a future handmaiden or servant as a fun gag and cue to run off to a dripstone cave that randomly happens to be close by. The kidnappers obviously knew that she's going to check out the cave because they come out of hiding to grab her. Well, aren't they lucky that Marie Antoinette decided to check out the random cave in the woods right next to where the swap happened to take place. Which was supposed to be a secret meeting point at a neutral location between Austria and France (this is going to be interesting for later). There's no way anyone could have predicted that she would not only take off but run to the cave. The laws of probability haven't been violated enough yet, because of course Asuka als recognizes the archduchess in her servant's dress even though she's never before seen her. Asuka handily defeats the five grown men in the employ of the Duke of Orléans. She either severely wounds or outright kills four of the five and captures one for interrogation, but the duke interferes from the shadows and kills him with a well thrown knife, because Asuka took the princess and fled in a random direction that just happened to be where the duke was waiting in just the right distance to be able to kill his underling before the interrogation. Sigh. Meanwhile, in the time it takes Asuka to fight off the archduchess' would be kidnappers, the fake Marie Antoinette uses what will later become known as Littlefinger's Teleportation device to arrive at Versailles. I'm not really going to comment on the ridiculousness of nobody noticing that the girl they have is a boy in a horsecarriage ride that takes a while. A long while. A really, really long while without Littlefinger's handy teleporter. Asuka and the actual Marie Antoinette chase after them, and arrive just in the nick of time. The Duke of Orléans kills the pretender boy and is chewed out by Asuka for it, but manages to talk himself out of it. Can't have the king insulted like that, can we? Okay. So, now that this is over with, the episode itself wasn't nearly as bad as the kidnapping plot is stupid, but we cannot possibly pretend this episode was well written. This kidnapping attempt only works because it was written to work, much like the defense of Winterfell in Game of Thrones. There's also the problem of predictability: At the end of the episode, we're introduced to Marie Antoinette's future affair, Hans Axel von Fersen. Asuka and André are childhood friends, so Asuka is going to fall in love with someone else who will reject her only to realize that she loved André anyway. This is just the way these stories go. The shojo part, aside from somewhat more complex character interactions that in shonen anime of the same time, will probably be romance and pretty dresses for the nobles. I hope not, but it's certainy looking like it. Being members of the French court during the upcoming French Revolution will most likely mean that they'll all, uhm, die or face some other suitable tragidy. Except for Hans Axel von Fersen. That guy lived until the early 19th century. Historically, the manga for this was amongst the first, if not actually the first shojo historical drama manga, and found a larger demographic appeal in the setting and some of the action as well as intricacies of the plot and characters. Insofar it'll be a worthwhile watch, just like Attack No 1., if only to see the history of shojo animes, and I'm hoping that the adaptation is going to reflect that. If not in the first 18 episodes, then hopefully in the next 22 after the directorial change. And now for the one thing that I wanted to complain about: Apparently, when I watch or read or listen to any given entertainment, what I'm looking for and enjoy is apparently something that nobody else wants, with the sole exception of perhaps @Bartimaeus, but even that is sufficiently different (I liked X, I doubt he would, for instance, or as evidenced by our difference of opinion on how Haruka and Michiru's background reveal episode in Sailor Moon S compares to SuperS, a season we all sufficiently loathed). What I cannot understand, however, is the idea of suggesting this anime when asked for 80ies or 90ies shojo anime in the context of a Cardcaptor Sakura community. Granted, I do not know the actual wording of these suggestions, nor the actual wording of the question, nor do I want to judge the community. This isn't me judging others for their opinions, it's me whining about feeling like an utter alien here because I can't for the life of me see any similarities. I'm not even disliking Lady Asuka so far, even if that episode was the epitome of stupid plots, at the end of the day, who really cares. It's the somewhat rough start of a historical drama and intrigue, cabals and plotting are part of any court. If I'm right, and this is primarily going to be romance drama and later character drama relating to the revolution, then... then where, how... how... was I supposed to watch Cardcaptor Sakura for the battle costumes and the romance? Because that was certainly a part of it, but only a small one. *headscratch* Guess the next time I have so many things to choose from, I'll just start with the mecha anime, or the 800 episode show with the weird art style. I'm going to watch some more K-On!! right now. Edit: See, K-On!! takes something out of Cardcaptor Sakura's playbook and has a Romeo and Juliet play, and the class decides that Mio and Ritsu are going to play Romeo and Juliet, with Tsumugi writing the script, who already teased heavy rewrites now that she has two unexpected lead characters with a special dynamic. This is a close to a gender swap as you can come in an all girls class. Like the Sleeping Beauty play in CCS. Edit 2: Yui is a tree...

  26. Yeah, and you gain extra range for some spells on top of this. The downside is minor since you will probably start everycombat by debuffing all foes. It might only matter if you rely on AoE attacks (rod, mortars), in this case you're pretty likely to have at least one foe not debuffed. But that's minor. Beguiler is IMHO the best Cipher subclass overall. Not to say others are bad, but it is just better than the other at... being a cipher ? Ascendant's secret is that it also get +50% (additive) focus regen, so it might arguably worth it even if you never ascend. Ascension is still a bit annoying cause you suddenly run out of focus. You can be left without even focus for whispers of treason at the worst moment of fight. Still fun to play, but the lack of flexibility can be painful.

  28. Yeah, I've receieved this commet a couple of times. Their damages are based on the same ratio as Tuotilio's Palm compared to monk unarmed attack. The ratio is low because unarmed attacks damages are high. But their damages are high because unarmed attacks don't have any magical properties, meanwhile Tuotilio's has some. That's why I now think I should have gone with a comparision between Tuotilio's and a normal fast weapon (such as Club) to determine the ratio. The new ratio will be 3/4 which will lead to following values for normal speed bashing shield (Magran's blessing and Best Defense) : - 6 PEN double damage types + 10-14 damages (3/4 of a sword) - 8 PEN double damage types + 8-12 damages (3/4 of a warhammer) I think I will go with the first for Magran's Blessing and the second for Best Defense. This is unintended. Let me check. This is a bug. Let me check. EDIT : Can you confirm the ability description (both the short summary ones and the text below) are correct ? EDIT EDIT : Nevermind, I've found the bug. Not all weapon with lash benefit from Elemental talent. Intended.

  30. Most regimes use that sort of tactic of putting neighbors against each other. The plan works in 2 parts 1. if you rat out your neighbor you get rewarded 2. if your neighbor is caught and you knew but didn't rat him out you get punished as a collaborator stick and carrot, both designed to make you live in fear of those around you, thus keeping the population divided and submissive.

  31. I don't ever play solo, and I find that the enemy scaling in multiplayer can be very frustrating. If a new person hits a low hp enemy, that enemy is no longer low hp. If a weak enemy visually aggro'd on 2 players instead of 1, it's suddenly going to take twice as long to kill. If a player goes down, the party benefits from not picking them up, because any time you pick someone up, the enemy heals a ton of hp back from readding them to the aggro table. It's a mess of exernalities. I find that, on average, enemies are more difficult if there are more people attacking them. That difficulty isn't "too high". The game isn't "too hard." I just want, when I get together with a friend, for them to be helping me, not hindering me 90% of the time (most enemies in mid-lategame have relatively low hp solo, the extra hp they gain from multiple players is rarely worth it unless they both start dps at the exact same time). By that token, I feel that enemy scaling should be a flat boost to all creatures on multiplayer maps, that make enemies consistently more difficult, and make teamwork more important. At the very least, enemy HP should not scale based on their maximum values, but their current values. If you start with 100 hp, get it to 10, and another player aggros it, giving it a 20% boost to 12, that's fine. If the player aggros it and brings it from 10 hp to 30, that's not acceptable.

  32. Don't forget the house centipede if you go in the shed or indoors. Though these guys can be freed with same adversion that spiders give people. Maybe it's them legs or the fact that the jump on prey like a face hugger while beating it to death..........no it's them legs Excerpt from the wiki It may often be seen darting across floors with very great speed, occasionally stopping suddenly and remaining absolutely motionless, presently to resume its rapid movements, often darting directly at inmates of the house, particularly women, evidently with a desire to conceal itself beneath their dresses, and thus creating much consternation.

  33. This is my test character just to screw around with and get familiar with the mechanics and such. I'll probably make a new character once I'm familiar enough with the game that I know what I want to focus on. I went silver wing for this trial character. Wings are essentially professions: Silver Wing = Office/Business White Wing = Scientist/Doctor Blue Wing = Engineer/Mechanic Black Wing = Security/Military Orange Wing = Convict/Laborer I'm surprised that everything seems to be voice acted so far. Maybe that's just the intro? The game feels very Fallout 1 & 2 but with the modern quality of life improvements that you would expect.

  34. I want pillars of eternity 3 and the conclusion to the series set in the aftermath of Deadfire. I want to suggest a plot, but that would entail spoilers. We had a fort, then a boat. I'd like for the third installment to be set in The White that Wends, with our next base being a a steampunk airship. Travel map sort of like in PoE2. We only have have 1/4th of the map available as upgrades will be needed to travel deeper into the map sections. No airship combat like boat combat in Deadfire, but a crew separate from companions that you can send out on expeditions and artifact digs. Sort of like FF7 where you fly around in the ship and can land to walk around. The upgrades and power of your airship only being important Vs climate, weather, landing opportunities, expedition and digsite crew limit (say 1-4 with a maximum of 4 in each crew). Keep navigator, cook, engineer, helmsman and such as crew roles. Your expedition and digsite crews having traits that matter this time around for success in them working together. Higher difficulties and it's easier for people on the expedition crews to suffer permanent injuries or death, so that on normal difficulty you really have to mess up - on higher difficulties game knowledge and good intuition / crew strategy being vital to succeeding. I really loved the mobile base of operations and the world travel in Deadfire. I actually like the ship combat and upgrading, but it felt kinda half-cooked. As if the devs only got to implement half of what they wanted. But that's game design. A fight against time with compromises. Without spoiling anything. I think the endings of Deadfire really sets up massive potential for one last game. IMO the writing, worldbuilding and characters of Deadfire was amazing. People have different theories but personally I think the sales were low because oceans, pirates and boats is a hard sell. At least for me it made me ignore the game entirely until recently - in which I was very positively surprised by how good it is. Even ending up liking it more than the first which I never expected. I personally think PoE is a masterpiece in worldbuilding. It felt generic when I first started playing PoE1. However it is all about commitment, writing quality, story and how it is executed. I'm starting to get old, having had gaming as a hobby for over 20 years. And I can honestly say at this point, that PoE3 is my most desired game. I don't know if a PoE3 got scrapped because PoE2 had low sales, but I hope not. I genuinely think, after playing Deadfire, the only reason for bad sales is a dull front cover, lacking marketing and because the pirate theme is a niche and hard sell.
