Distracting myself with getting back on the crafty times train... London Comic-Con is back in the real-world come October, so re-working some elements, repairing, and trying a few fresh things out. Printing, Sanding, Priming... Putting that base paint layer... Then bringing out some of the details... Actually thinking I might try using the solid waist/ab pieces of the armour to make silicon mold, and try creating some semi-rigid rubber versions just to make it easier to bend/sit down in. Although I have no idea of what that would involve or added costs. Possibly some time to research.

Wrapping up some of those final details (with some minor smears left over...) Have to admit, since the hood of the Sith robe will be up most of the time, I haven't been quite as serious as smoothing out the print of the rear half of the helmet. Put in some magnets on the inside to clip both parts together. Planning to fold some black veil mesh across the eye areas, some interior padding, and then a strap for the rear half. Hopefully it means I'll put the rear half on, and then just be able to pull the front half off whenever I want to drink/eat. Plus the magnets help guide it back to the proper place when re-attaching.

I am getting very close to starting what I call Operation £^<× Everybody. More appropriately it should be called Operation £^<× Everybody Except Family and Friends, but that's quite a mouthful. Operation £^<× Everybody: Step 1) Buy house in the mountains, the more in the mountains and secluded the better. My motto is "I'd prefer if my closest neighbors were black bears rather than humans." Step 2) Become as self-sufficient as I can. Solar panels, garden, moonshine still, etc. Step 3) Get guns. Step 4) ??? Step 5) £^<× Everybody I am very close to having the money for a downpayment but the housing market is 🍌🍌right now, so I will wait for the right deal to come along; I can wait. Side note: "£^<× Everybody" can be interpreted another way, which would make for a vastly different operation, but one I am not entirely opposed to.

I built a party of sc pallies with the healing upgrade of SI and having 4 other heal procs and aura regen on each one while killing everything around them was pretty funny.

Yes, I basically said that. They expected D:OS2 levels of sales and were pretty devastated by the poor initial sales numbers. I just wanted to inform that "performed poorly" might not be accurate anymore ("poor" seems to indicate that it was financial loss - but maybe that's just my impression). Metacritic scores: PoE: 89 critics, 8.3 user Deadfire: 88 critics, 7.8 user I'd say it was received nearly as well. Right - but after saying so on Twitter some PoE/Deadfire devs jumped in an said they would be ready for PoE3 (e.g. Ob's Art Director Matt Hansen and Producion Director Alec Frey). So there's still hope.

I actually agree, and do believe that if US and NATO forces had to fight the Russians either in Ukraine or in the Baltic republics in the near future, they will get their asses handed to them in relatively short order. But this has nothing to do with technology comparisons. US and NATO forces are technological superior by a wide margin. It's their morale, training, and will to stand and fight, alongside US and NATO people's willingness to sacrifice and accept casualties that I seriously question and which will doom the West. I mean, if the Taliban can chase us out of Afghanistan and Iranian militias can chase us out of Iraq .... Re. "Checkmate," the cost estimates are all well and good, but ultimately it comes down to performance. And I don't see much performance value in Russian 5th gen platforms at all. Take the MiG-35, built purely for export at a very low cost. Despite costing only a fraction of what Western 4.5 gen aircraft cost, nobody wants it. Yes countries want low cost, but not at the expense of quality/performance. Also, talk of the F-35 being bad is just utter nonsense, being fed by ignorant idiot news media types. Every single country that has operated it has their pilots only raving about its performance. Yes, just like any other revolutionary platform, it is having some teething issues, issues that will be overcome in time. But it is very much a revolutionary platform for future air operations with incredible capability.

Possibly too dark?

The Outer Worlds was on sale on Steam for $20, and the expansions were another $20. Not exactly a huge deal, but I played it on the Gamepass originally so I'm happy to have it added to my steam library for that price.

I don't think I need either the Switch or Steam Deck to play slot or jigsaw puzzle apps, so ... nah. Not knocking them, I can understand/see their use. Such devices are not aimed at me is all. Speak for yourself. I'm the total opposite, where while I can use an xbox sort of controller, I can't stand their form, weight, or sticks - they make my hands hurt etc. Even before I became velcro-fingers. It's just an individual comfort. I always hear PS ones suck more re: breaking but I haven't had any issues re: ps4 sticks or buttons in 4+ years (I have 4), with 100s/1000's of hours of use. Maybe I'm just weirdly extra-gentle or something. Their rechargeable battery - how long before they don't hold a charge for as long - happens a little faster than I'd like, but dunno. The one I use on the PC I bought a long cable for it anyway so no issue there. I do wonder if having the buttons more directly to the side of the stick (Steam Deck) would be better for my trigger thumb/joint issues - so it'd be more of a slide over to them vs. (for me) a thumb stretch upwards. When the thumb has to stay almost ramrod straight, moving it over/upwards means sometimes sliding over the X(A) or square(X) button and accidentally hitting them while trying to reach for the triangle(Y) button. >.>

I do really like the physical design of the unit. It has 2 analog sticks, 2 trackpads (presumably with haptic feedback) and a real D-Pad (this is key). Granted, in practice I find myself using the D-Pad fairly rarely these days, but on those rare occasions where a D-Pad is superior to an analog stick, it's really really superior and the half trackpad half D-Pad that is on the Steam Controller is SUPER GARBAGE as a D-Pad. Also, not show in the picture, there are 4 paddle buttons on the back, 2 on each side. The point is, there are a ton of buttons and axes and so on. It looks to be a significantly improved Steam Controller.

While children in Skyrim have unique backstories, once they are adopted they become generic girls boys. A bit of a missed opportunity. The gender difference is in a few chat lines how they feel about different homes. Girls get scared of the swamp, boys feel cold in the snow. Girls think places are so beautiful. If asked what a present they would like, girls want a dress or a doll, boys a wooden sword or sweets. Both will be happy with any of the gifts though. It is funny how RNG then creates personality just by being RNG. Sofia has never practiced sword fighting. Lucia practices daily. As a matter of fact, sword fighting has become her main thing. Sofia is the one who sometimes practices music And she does more chores around the house, while her sister apparently doesn't have time because she needs to practice sword fighting. And while I am busy decorating the new house I am building: I may have to rethink the decorations, because someone seems very interested in Meridia's sword Dawnbreaker... Which kinda reminds me Sofia is "sweeping" the basement suspiciously close to where the Enchanting and Alchemy tables are...

Not only justified, anyone who believes conspiracy theories that you could lose access to games with DRM should take off their tinfoil hat. Who has ever heard of anyone being unable to play a game because the DRM no longer works? I can guarantee you have never met such a person if you are honest 😛

Sort of (very) old news... but interesting none the less. I'm sure poor @Gromnir is fed up with explaining that the BG2 npc is named after him and not the other way around, so lets just revisit that particular confirmation, that it is indeed so 😂

Their opinion is pretty accurate, because if you do not have any knowledge about how to do a workaround with editing some .xml files, you are not able to finish the game.

I bought Horizon Zero Dawn in the Steam summer sale and started it up yesterday. I am shocked by how good it's been so far. It's gorgeous, runs great on my machine, has a compelling story and it's surprisingly well-written with (some) characters that I actually care about. Also, it just opened up the world for me and that did not make it less awesome! Unless something happens after the lengthy intro, I am going to enjoy this game immensely.

Ran through Priority: Thessia on ME3 Legendary. Sigh. The fun of doing it with Liara and Javik and the conversations between them. Great. The environment is aesthetically pleasing. The reveals on Asari superiority are nice. Kai Leng. Goddamn Kai Leng. That scripted fight sequence. The fact that he keeps crowing about his abilities even if you are kicking his ass. Then you have the continuation of the ego of the assassin who had previously been stopped by a terminally-ill Drell, then only escapes from getting his ass thoroughly kicked by you due to a gunship using high explosives to take the floor out from under you and he then gloats that "he beat you". Between the scripting of that fight and that writing, it sucks all the joy and delight out of that mission.

You could tell a Bethesda game by the bugs... I fast travel to the middle of nowhere. As I load, the game also loads a dragon nearby who flies in to attack me. I dismount and run a short distance from the horse, as I don't want it hit by the breath weapon. Dragon lands. Dragon takes falling damage from landing. Dragon dies.

I liked the adopting thing too. But that also was exactly what showed me what was so wrong about the game and what it could've been. Once you get married, and adopt a bunch of kids, your wife and kids don't have any new interactions with you. For the rest of the game they have nothing to say or do with you. That disappointed me.

Me: "You are putting on a show just to welcome me to your city? You shouldn't have!" Local: "Its not a show. Its a beheading..." Me: "Dibs on looting the corpse!"

So Skyrim goes into the list of games that I could never get into until something suddenly clicked and allowed me to have fun my way. Here it was messing around with my avatar until I could have a goofy grin that makes all serious situations silly by my presence. Since then I found you can adopt children, which first few times I had tried playing the game I never got to. So now I gather skill books around the world and add them to the bookshelf in my house, then stand proudly in a corner when one of the kids grabs a book to read. They'll be the most skilled children out there by the time I am done with the game. I am considering assassinating the Talos preacher. I saw Sofia go sit on the bench where he preaches and listen to his preaching. He can believe whatever he wants and preach what he wants. But not to my daughter. Next thing you know, Thalmor justiciars will be knocking on our door and high elf blood is a pain to get out of the carpet.

Lore is a huge part of any RPG for me, its different to narrative which intertwines into lore For example when I travel to places on the map I always like to know as much as possible about the region, people and history. And I love in RPG you make narrative decisions that are sometimes about 2 factions and both have future consequence that are not always about your direct journey but can be about the survival of that faction. And I often consider that choice and an understanding of lore can and does influence that decision..sometimes I have even stopped playing for hours to ruminate on vital information in RL So I get you, we both like lore
