  1. Dude, what? That is super hyperbole. What company or person has been taken down because they don't wave the rainbow flag? Chick-fil-a and Hobby Lobby seem to be doing fine despite donating large sums of money to anti-lgbtq legislation. Those are companies with CEO's actively voicing opinions, so I don't know where you get the idea that anyone is getting castigated for not taking a stance. We literally just transitioned from a president who was elected on a very conservative platform. He certainly wasn't waving a rainbow flag. He still managed 75 million votes in the loss. Gay marriage has only been legal for 6 years. We are very much in the thick of things when it comes to the civil rights of the LGBTQ community. My daughter is gay. I don't want her to have to deal with discrimination. I want her to be able to get married and have the same rights as I did. But I know she will still face challenges, and even though it may be totally silly that a missile company is flying a flag that makes her feel accepted in this society, it still makes me feel a bit better about her future.

  2. You really only need to look at the comments of these 'virtue signals' to see why they are important. There is a ton of people that get riled up when a company puts up a rainbow flag. Some of them are just ignorant, some are bigoted. The LGBTQ community is not treated well in our society. When people stop being offended by the symbol, it will no longer be necessary. But yeah, it is funny to see this particular company take part. Looks like bigots will need to shop elsewhere for their missiles!

  7. Ask someone who has been divorced twice. People like us know what a f——-g marriage really is. My religious conviction teaches me that God loves us all. Can’t imagine he would involve himself in something like marriage if that were true LOL

  8. The best bet for keeping a non-GH pet alive is going with stalker and the bear pet. The higher AR really works wonders keeping the pet alive. Then you can try to keep your foes dazed, which lowers their PEN by -4, so they'll always under-penetrate you and do little damage. One way to do this is with Griffin's Blade, which dazes foes in an AOE on crit. A seer, with high accuracy & INT and lingering echoes, can keep foes perma-dazed. Or you could build a geomancer bloodmage/stalker, as Boeroer has discussed in many other threads, and daze them with Arkemyer's Dazzling Lights. But if you go with seer you could have Aloth or a hireling mage do this for you.

  9. That certainly is homophobic. Objecting to someone else's marriage based on religion is bad. You don't have to marry a man, but you don't need to tell two adults what their marriage needs to look like. If someone objects to a bi-racial marriage, would you consider that racist?

  10. I'd say that GH is best if you really don't want to bother with a an animal companion (AC) much. Due to the bother I often wouldn't summon one when playing GH. But it's great to summon one behind enemies as Boeroer explained, and then cast ectoplasmic echo on them. However, when playing a SB I prefer stalker for the extra defenses.

  13. There was a snake in the kitchen this morning just doing snake things. He must have been in the house since at least Sunday because we were in the yard most of the day and the door was wide open most of the time I had to take him back outside but it's all good because we are friends now. He runs a Harry and the Hendersons fan site so you know he's a quality dude

  14. I finally found a reliable way to beat Hauani-O-Whe. The missing part of the puzzle was the unique arbalest Mechanical Marvel which attacks in a line (max 3 targets) and can be enchanted with 25% recovery reduction. With Acina's Tricorn, Sharpshooter's Garb, Abraham/Cutthroat Cosmo and Captain's Banquet it's possible to shoot every 4.1s with Overbearing Shot activated. Overbearing Shot knocks the oozes prone interrupting them and gives you enough time to shoot them again before they're able to merge. How it works: Step1: Kill the first form (like in the video) Step2: Use the arbalest to remove the concentration from both gigantic oozes then shoot one of them until it's close to 50%hp. After that you can apply Arterial Strike/Gouging Strike and wait until it becomes Bloodied - now as soon as the oozes see each other they will try to merge. The only tricky part is to position yourself in line with both of them (not that hard once you understand the timing). Once the oozes are close to each other they will try to merge over and over again and you'll interrupt them over and over with your arbalest until the one with lesser health dies. Step3: We have now one gigantic and 2 massive oozes. The massive oozes don't patrol and it's a good idea to kill the gigantic one near the left/right sides of the area. The other gigantic ooze will continue to patrol and should be killed on the opposite side of the area. Step4: We have now 2 pairs of massive oozes which are far from each other. Killing the first pair works the same way as for the gigantic - remove their concentration, shoot one of them until close to 75% and when they start to merge interrupt them over and over until one of them dies. Step5: One massive ooze will split in 2 greater ones while the other massive one is near death. Now it's time for the scrolls: the greater ones are killed with 2 Tornados (it also knocks them up which interrupts them), while the 4 lesser ones are killed with a single Tornado. Step6: Kill the second massive ooze and destroy the greater/lesser ones with another 3 Tornados. Step7: Repeat steps 4-6 for the other pair of massive oozes. Observations: The scrolls of Tornado don't require very rare ingredients and only 12 scrolls are needed. That means we can have 3 quick slots free for other consumables (potions of Ascension, drugs, potions, etc) Maybe it's possible to reach the required speed with just Coral Snuff instead of Captain's Banquet (which is less useful for the other encounters).

  17. In general (without cheese) you just cast Minor or Major Grimoire Imprint on any Priest, Wizard or Druid - and if it doesn't miss it will give you a random spell from that caster. That's it - nothing else required. As @Not So Clever Hound said: in order to steal a spell from a hireling you have to be confused (you as the one casting Minor/Major Grimoire Imprint). Because usually the Imprint spells are foe only spells and you can't cast them on party members. But when you are confused you can. This lets you control exactly which spells will get stolen (no randomness anymore) because you can just create a hireling with only the spell(s) you want to steal. The cheese then works like @Not So Clever Hound described.

  20. I mean if you want to be accurate, liberalism in the classical sense didn't have much trouble coexisting with stuff like scientific racism that formed the base of white supremacy. It certainly was inconsistent with the stated philosophy of liberalism, but no ideology has been free of inconsistency when birthed into the real world. Everyone seems to have a different definition and loves calling things they don't agree with idpol. Really I think the Democrats (and the ideological milieu that constitutes much of their political grouping) can be critiqued on the lines of their identity representation based politics, as in their solution to marginalized people being marginalized is to get some of them in positions of power, because this doesn't really do anything for the structural issues that result in marginalization. When more class based politics emerge, I think it will look more like strikes or the protests after George Floyd's murder than some populist candidates gaining steam by appealing to working class folks with the $15 minimum wage.

  22. A seer is a great combination; this multiclass can get what I believe is the highest possible accuracy in the game (or close to it at least), which is particularly useful when you are playing at higher difficulty levels. Most tend to play this as a ranged build, using combos such as ghostheart/ascendant, although I am partial to the melee build, namely stalker/soul blade. This is a personal preference, and also due to the fact that there are some great weapons for ciphers in this game; dual wielding Grave Calling and the Seeker's Fang is my favorite combo.

  24. *sigh* you are doing this bass ackwards. you have reached a conclusion, and any story which confirms your bias is "evidence." wsj and nypost *snort* share not a peer reviewed study or anything close, but an opinion piece. could new evidence change the situation? sure, but at this point all the reputable scientific feedback has claimed covid-19 does not have any o' the telltale signs o' human interference. why would the opinion piece change hearts and minds? you seizing on every rando story to bolster your unsupported belief does little to alter our skepticism. however, if the goal were to give us yet another opportunity to point out your willingness to embrace bs w/o evidence, then mission accomplished. advice: the smart play is to wait. what compels dp to link every not study which supports his belief? eventual there will be a peer reviewed study and subsequent expert debate regarding methodology and data and whatnot. or there will never be such. in either case, 'til you get something legit... HA! Good Fun!

  27. Well Serious Burn still comes with -2 DEX which isn't a big deal but comes in the way of your speed/DPS. In the spirit of optimization, I'm still in the camp of Wrenched Knee for my particular build.

  28. The fire one is almost as convenient, because you have infinite injuries in the last room of sandswept. I mean so you don't get the healing as often, but the injury still has no downside for you, since fire heals you?

  29. Acute Rash is just the most convenient to get imo.

  30. It's a real fun synergy because of Chillfog, blind = flanked lol. Also draining wall + unbending is just awesome. I personally like the -fire dr injury + the cloak healing you for fire damage.

  31. Well I can't take credit for coming up with the Rekvu's + Vaporous synergy but yeah it's very powerful especially with a SC wizard since it gives you 3 PL8 and 2 PL9 casts which can obliterate many high level fights. Since then I've found out that the best injury to have isn't Acute Rash but Wrenched Knee (virtually no downside) which you can get with certain traps e.g. the Spike Traps in the Poko Kohara ruin.

  32. It's been quite some time and I didn't do this fight often solo (and never with a Wizard) but I'd say buff up with defensive stuff + Alacrity and then use Persistence (hunting bow), Drawn in Spring (Dagger) or Tidefall (Great Swords). Since the raw DoT of those gets calculated before DR it can reach good heights even if the primary DMG gets eaten up by DR a lot. Drawn in Spring with Little Savior + Blaidh Golan (or some other Preservation item) would be my first approach because iirc those guess can knock you down a lot. Better be untouchable if that happens. Also with a durganized Little Savior + Drawn in Spring + Alacrity you will be quite fast hitting. If that didn't work I would try kiting with Alacrity + Persistence. Arcane Assault is not doing that much, but it's raw dmg and targets their weakest defense. I know their fortitude is enormous, but Ninagauth's Death Ray? Wall of Many Colors might be helpful...?

  33. hahahaha no way Not So Clever Hound I literally looked into your post first before attempting my run and I thought to myself "no way wizards need might" and I proceeded to do the most brain dead thing ever maxing Might as a blood wizard. I also thought Rekvu’s Fractured Casque was pretty useless along with the Vaporous but dude you're legit a genius I never would have thought of purposefully having an injury to have more spells without being interrupted.

  34. Ye as Kaylon said soloing isn't as much about your stats but knowing the capabilities of the classes and if necessary leveling without combat. You can level all the way to level 19 without a single fight (except the tutorial fight ofc) if you really want to. SC Blood Mage is the strongest class in the game if you are willing to abuse all cheese, for a beginner I would rather suggest to play Tactician/bloodmage or one of the combos kaylon suggested.

  35. You should know that soloing encounters at low level is very hard even for the most experienced players. Only a handful of classes don't need to skip fights at the beginning, the others have to gain experience without fighting in order to become strong enough. Chanter/blood mage and paladin/blood mage are both solid, but don't expect to destroy everything from the beginning. Stats make very little difference, don't focus too much on that.

  36. New equipment slot: back Equipment types cape/expanded backpack. Expanded backpacks have two crafting tiers. Tier 1- Acorn Pack: 2x acorn shells, 2x clover, 4x crude rope. Description: An acorn half shell with a clover lid and two crude arm loops. Expands storage by 10 spaces. Tier 2- Berry Rucksack: 4x berry leather, 4x bug rubber, 6x silk string. Description: A military style rucksack meticulously crafted and sewn out of berry leather. Bug rubber provides additional padding and water proofing. Expands storage by 20 spaces. Capes: due to common request if you were to implement a back slot you would need to include the option for non backpack items like capes as well. There would be lots of options for bonuses styled after their crafting components like grub hide for endurance or bee fuzz for acrobatics. Another and I think better route so it doesn’t compete with current buffs though, would be dmg resistances. spider parts for poison resistance, bombardier beetle for acid and, ladybug parts for the winning physical dmg resistance bonus. These would add a bit of flavor for players to experiment with their characters as well as enhance certain gameplay elements like spider and bombardier beetle hunting.
