I love the baseball episode because Max is supposedly a great player in real life but his character, Rom, is worse than terrible so he plays left handed in the episode. He also sings terrible in an episode even though he's part of the DS9/Trek singing group.3 points

I have a deep-seated fear of someone trolling me by making it so I can't switch back by taking my name themselves. Although I haven't been particularly attached to this name for over a decade (I do keep using it for consistent identity reasons however), it'd still be annoying!2 points

Heh. Good thing Minako gets more to do than the others in Sailor Stars. Not that it is much, there's... man, yeah, the short run time for actual fun stuff really hurt that season. Spoiler: I think it's pretty telling that one of the actors, Keith Hamilton-Cobb (playing Tyr), who before Andromeda more or less only starred in a soap opera, left the show in the third season because he hated what they did to his character. That should actually really drive home the point how annoying that must have been to have Sorbo be the executive producer. Soap opera actor leaves his steady paycheck over creative differences about his characterization in the show. I can understand how you got the impression. I've talked about the Gainax ending of Puella Magi Madoka Magica after all. I'm familiar with the memes and the legacy of the show, just not the show itself. Fun fact, Shinji in NGE is vocied by Megumi Ogata, i.e. Sailor Uranus. That's also how I can find the barrage of DBZ references funny in Steven Universe, but I haven't seen any Dragon Ball. Like, none. Just the OVER NINE THOUSAND clip, because that's so obiquitous that you can't escape from it. It's more meta-fun than actual "I get that" fun, but it's still funny.2 points

Fun facts, Famke Jansen was asked to join DS9 but declined, and Max Grodénchick auditioned for the role of Quark, but got to play Rom instead.2 points

THE PERFECT MATE (TNG)- Why can't the computer, which apparently can track every crewman, keep people who aren't part of the crew from traveling willy-nilly all over the ship? Why are there civilians on the ship (other than to have rowdys around for the one scene)? Tim O'Connor and Famke Jansen are good in their respective roles, and Picard and Beverly get some good scenes as well. One of the dramatic episodes that actually has some pretty decent drama in it.2 points

So, my experience with Genshin Impact has been rather positive, but so positive I decided to burn money into it, which I usually never do in multiplayer/online service games. Genshin is a weird beast. It's singleplayer, it's free to play and it's a gatcha game. Gatcha games relies on luck and rolls with "wishes" or currency to obtain new characters. Although rates where you can get 5* characters are pretty low, you can basically farm wishes in daily tasks and there is pity system, both of which is lacking in most of other gatchas. Now, how is gameplay? Gameplay is action game with pretty unique twist on party mechanics, you basically apply elemental reactions on surrounding area/monsters that persist to apply another element to same place with different character. It's big elemental game. Combat is pretty much fast paced, bit easy, but very much fun. Graphics are anime like, and I would say they are well done... and so is the music. When I started this game I couldn't believe I would play this so persistently, but I did. I feel like my worries from before this game launched weren't that justified.1 point

So after finishing the DLC content I decided to start testing out all the new weapons as some of them looked pretty interesting. Below are my findings and thoughts, along with input others have shared. I will keep updating as/if more information is discovered and confirmed. Glacier Bane - Harder than Ice stacks last till end of combat and can be gained from friendly fire. Could use a fast ticking freeze dot such as Ninagauth's Bitter Mooring to gain an easy +3 pen. Problem is you can only select one enchant, and it's only other unique property is 10% raw lash. Frostfall - Chaos Strike doesn't have any correlation between types of affliction it applies - I stunned the enemy while distracting myself. Could synergize nicely with some of the new "gain x while afflicted" gear; make sure you have no inspiration before using (obviously). Corrode damage scales with level (+25% at lvl20 multiclass/PL7) along with all the usual weapon damage modifiers. Mutually exclusive with Dispersed Suffering. - Dispersed Suffering doesn't care how you get the kill; spells, offhand weapon, DoT chants, etc. Radius isn't stated, however appears to be somewhat bigger than carnage. It currently gives +50% duration as opposed to the +20% on the description - likely a bug. Will extend chants (tested with Dragon Thrashed) and also can proc off killing friendly targets. Targets the foes will defense, so triggers on attack effects (Stagger from Spirit Frenzy, Avenging Storm); next kill will extend durations and so on. I had one mob with ~550 second stagger duration. Obviously that's overkill but you can get creative with your afflictions/DoTs. - Encroaching Frost can proc from spells. I have confirmed this can proc from Dispersed Suffering, which will then be extended by it and so on. With enough crit chance you could (potentially) permanently paralyze an entire group using your own skelebros (resistance/immunity aside). Mutually exclusive with Shattering Head. - Shattering Head was underwhelming; damage is comparable to Frostseeker but proc is less reliable (30% vs guaranteed) and it doesn't damage the primary target, unlike Frosty. Crit has to be with the mace for it to proc. - Does not gain penetration from Secrets of Rime. This is a bug and a fix is being worked on. Current's Rush - Flow and its upgrade do quite high damage, however the low proc chance makes it fairly unreliable. Maybe on a ranger with driving flight and twinned shot? - Low Tide enchant crit damage also applies to spells. - Ebb stacking hit to crit chance is weapon only - would have been perfect caster weapon otherwise. Oathbreaker's End - Scales of Justice DoT damage appears to be base 3, scaled with standard damage modifiers (superb, might, threshing aura, etc.) but not from the skill that applied it or crit damage. This is in line with other non-percentage DoTs so makes sense. - Found Innocent heal amount looks to be the same as Abraham - that is both Abraham and this gave me 17 health on kill. Mutually exclusive with Found Guilty. - Found Guilty looks to be the best - raw damage AoE, uses full weapon base damage (18-24) plus passive and ability bonuses (with lashes on top), can crit and targets the will defense. Using the new Slippers of the Assassin you can get Assassinate and Backstab (depending on distance) to apply to the proc, but only once per fight. Swashbuckler using Clear Out from stealth with as much AoE as you can should apply the DoT to a large number of mobs, allowing a chain reaction of heavy raw damage as they start dying. Applies on attack effects such as Staggered from Spirit Frenzy/Tornado, Avenging Storm, etc. - Currently shares base penetration with one handed battle axes (7), this has been reported as a potential bug as version 1.2 increased two-handed penetration by +1 across the board. This is likely an oversight but hopefully we will know soon. The Twin Eels - Breath of Life heal amount is 10 + 1/religion point. This is also increased by the usual healing modifiers (might etc.) - Renewal was harder to test, as I got the gaping wound injury (-25% healing), however it would appear to be 10 + 10/religion + modifiers. - Death's Embrace is very hard to measure. I've done two tests so far which is by no means enough to come to conclusions on an RNG based effect, however in the first test I got 3 conversions due to the sword across 2 Hear of Fury's (~12 connections total per use) while the second test with exactly the same conditions saw 0 conversions. At a (very rough) guess I'd say it's something in the region of 2%-5% base + 0.25 per religion. - This matches what grasida said here. Essence Interrupter - Soul Diplomacy seems to be the obvious pick for the creature upgrades; why risk reinforcing your foes? So far in my very limited testing I've seen a range of monsters including but not limited to: Young Boar, Imps, Lesser Slime/Ooze, Gul/Dargul/Algul, Lagufaeth Mage, Ogre Pirate, Bird. The duration isn't fantastic but it's ok. Sometimes it didn't spawn anything even though the debuff was active and the visuals triggered. This is a bug so expect a fix soon. Another bug I've discovered is that Essential Phantom can apply the base debuff on top of the upgraded debuff. This is because EP will always only get the base version of your items. Expect a fix for this too, also as the base summon can be hostile, this isn't really that great. - Lashes are mutually exclusive (duh) and seem to scale at 0.25 or 0.5 per point of Metaphysics (I only tested one but they will be the same rate). Up to preference really which one to take, though shock obviously fits the theme better, aslo there are far more fire immune enemies than shock, including those that heal from it. - Gains penetration from Heart of the Storm passive, presumably also from other sources (if any exist?). After some further testing I believe the Oathbreaker's End has a lot of potential for AoE fights, however it is lacking when it comes to ST. Still had a lot of fun testing it and will probably build around it for my next run. What Twin Eels lacks in damage (outside of being a 2-hander) it makes up for in sustain - 40 health per kill is no joke, can't be bothered further testing the hit to crit though. Frostfall is probably my second favourite at this point, though I feel it will mainly be used as a stat stick due to it's two best enchants applying universally. The Essence Interrupter is interesting, but outside of the summons it's pretty ordinary. Having another elemental damage weapon is quite nice though. The lashes are nice but other weapons offer the same without hogging skill points.1 point

Yeah, I figured it out, I never even noticed the cover - I'm glad Steven specified that it was a part of the "disastrous graphic novel adaptation", . Although that episode is indeed one of the great ones of season 1, it is *not* the episode I had in mind. I bet you didn't expect that from that episode given how it started! If you saw the titles of the next handful or so of episodes, you might be able to figure it out...maybe! Probably not! (e):1 point

Oi, okay. I had no idea the Viz dub of Sailor Stars was that recent. I knew Sailor Stars wasn't part of the original dub because of, well, uneditable issues most likely, and I bet someone already regretted forking over money for SuperS, with it being what it was (in addition to it being doubleplusungood). I hope SuperS didn't boot Sailor Moon off your list of favorite shows. While I really like Sailor Stars (that should be obvious by now) I'm not sure it's enough to bring it back there.1 point

That is a comforting aroma and you made a famous and delicious curry, dont be too hard on yourself for not getting the recipe 100 %. I always learn from similar endeavors and then fix it for the next time I cook the dish Also I am not an instinctive cook meaning I am not good at guessing measurements and quantities and if I dont follow the recipe properly its normally not how I wanted it So invest in a kitchen scale, I have one and its worth it to avoid having to guess quantity and amounts. And this can make a difference at the end1 point

Some of those videos are pure gold. The one where he deletes the internet had me laughing my head off. He does put a ton of hours into each game he 'breaks' though. ... Now that it's been reasonably polished (and discounted), I finally got around to playing Wasteland 3 with a friend. I'm having fun so far and liking the systems -- it's rewarding to have non-combat skills be almost on par with combat ones in usefulness, and the perks are distinct and interesting for the most part. The story is kinda meh, but not Bioware-level meh. So the odds are good that I'll finish it at least...1 point

Tried my hand at green curry chicken. I should probably get myself small kitchen scale for weighing stuff. The eggplant didn't feel very heavy in my hand, but it sure was a lot of eggplant once I was done slicing it into little cubes It did taste great though. Like the Massaman, I cheated and bought a paste with the spice mix already prepared. It may not be bacon, but curry and coconut milk on the stove isn't bad either when it comes to fragrances1 point

Viz Sailor Stars: It should be noted that Sailor Stars was never dubbed in the U.S. outside of the Viz release, and the Viz release of it was released at the end of 2019, so it's still a bit more new than everything else in terms of people posting clips from it. I've only seen exactly what you've linked (also, great scene, ). Funny, I have no idea what the memes for Evangelion are. I watched the entire show except for the movie in literally one sitting (probably the most TV I've *ever* watched in a single sitting in literally my entire life - it wasn't even that the show was particularly great or anything, it was just weird and interesting and I had a totally free day, so...I just kept pressing that next episode button and soon enough the entire day was gone and the show was over) and never interacted with the community in any way.1 point

Rented and tried to watch Tenet. Unfortunately the sound mixing (and more specifically, Amazon Prime's streaming audio, whatever they are using) was horrendous. I mean usually you can at least find some tolerable ratio between the extra loud music and needing to hear/understand whispering dialogue, but this was horrible. It might've been a good - or at least interestingly weird - movie, but we gave up and turned it off after 30 minutes. I think we may need to try investing in one of those fancy 90210.231 Dolby 50 speaker sound systems or something, just to see if that actually handles this modern day sound-mixing, vs. "2.1" (speakers, maybe a sub woofer). Or attach to an actual stereo receiver with a mega equalizer unit. Ridiculous.1 point

Nah, that sappy-but-well-written character-driven garbage is exactly what I live for with characters I love, so I totally get it (and is why I recommended Steven Universe in the first place on the basis of what I thought you most loved in regards to the Sailor Moon characters - that and the fact that it has other good qualities besides just that). It's impossible to get the feelings you do without actually seeing the show and loving its characters like you do, but I get it on an empathetic level. This is one of my favorite character types (when executed well, of course) - unfortunately for Makoto who most strongly represents this in least Sailor Moon, it comes right after the difficult-to-adequately-encapsulate (oxy)moron/paradox character who's all over the place that is Minako, . Once again, a big middle finger to Kevin Sorbo (...and anyone else that was a part of that show's willful slide into 'Hercules in Space'), . (e): also my b about the Evangelion thing, thought for some reason you'd seen Evangelion already1 point

^Imo, the military is at least a generation ahead of civilian in relation to technology, so they are all of terrestrial origin and are simply advanced technology. A different topic, but my mind is blown to realize that the Suez Canal has earthen banks instead of concrete! Also no land tugs or anything? Ships are just "free sailing" through there? Madness! That would be a great place to sink a full cargo ship and really booger things up for a while.1 point

She was definitely the "most enjoyable" part of the first Suicide Squad movie. I liked the first movie, but then I didn't really expect haute couture when watching it (and I bought the dvd dirt cheap). Unlike some other movies, I felt entertained afterwards, not like I had just wasted an hour or two of my life or was suddenly missing several brain cells1 point

Nothing will ever beat the odyssey that was deciding to NOT build the Cyclops and instead just going full steam ahead with just the Prawn Suit to traverse the Lost River completely blind down into the Inactive Lava Zone. Best/worst decision I ever made, because it was so slow, and terrifying, and it was impossible to see where the hell I was supposed to be going. It was terrible, but also a great and unique experience. On a second playthrough, I built the Cyclops, and marveled how much easier, quicker, and safer that whole trek was.1 point

Judging by the millions of views, maybe everyone's seen it before, but ... I'm not even playing it but this video had me laughing like a loon in some spots. It's a little long but keeps progressing in absurd insanity/hilarity. Almost makes me want to buy it (vs. waiting a while).1 point
