edit: I just realized I spoilered that there'd be no payoff to this bullsh*t that's going on in SuperS. Sorry! I'll add a spoiler tag now! Yes, the edit description gives it away too. It's supposed to be funny, because nothing else about this season really is.2 points

Yes, you have to plan ahead what items you want to enchant. Here's a topic about their known locations...2 points

Episode...uh, 11, I think: Episode probably 12: I should also mention: I'm skipping several minutes near the end of each episode as of now - the moment one of the creepfaces says "one", I'm hammering that right arrow past the rest of the battle stuff unless I just happen to see something that piques my interest. Just don't have the patience anymore, and I'm not even that far in. This should help get past this.2 points

I'm beginning to see a pattern here. But yes, I complained copiously about this episode. I'd say its nice to see that you're bothered by the same stuff as I was. Validation is nice and all, but I really wish SuperS was better. The worst part is if you strike out Chibi-Usa and transport this to one season one it would maybe have been really funny, especially in light of Rei's not that distant relationship with Mamoru. Here it is just completely misplaced. It would still be even if there wasn't an episode before where the two main characters behave in the exact opposite way, making this even more awkward than it should be. This was written by a writer that's been on board since season one. She really should've known better. Or used an alias if that crap really came from studio interference.2 points

Thank you! It's definitely a work of passion. Sometimes I just don't know when to give up.2 points

I know, US elections 2020 are over, but I thought this little tidbit was interesting. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-56423536 Tl;dr; according to US intelligence services, Russia interfered to support Trump, Iran interfered to support Biden and China thought both candidates were hopeless and it wasn't worth interfering2 points

Hey, my Amazon had those holes! Volvos engines have always been rock solid, but especially the old B18/B20 (Same engine, different bore) pushrods. I mean, you can take practically anyone of those old engines and rev them to 7500 RPM, stock. If I were to put a 16V header on mine I could go to 500 hp easy with just changing the rods and pistons, the only problem would be the yearly inspection. And there are a couple of people who went the turbo-supercharged route aswell, there's an awesome looking opel Manta with a Volvo 2.3L 16V (B234) engine. https://www.pistonjuice.com/category/opel/manta/ Hehe, the garage... uh. Yeah, nsfw1 point

One of the things that turns American students off to STEM is the earnings are not commensurate with the education requirements. It's better than some fields of study to be sure. Certainly better than liberal arts. But the demand for the skills are not everywhere. They tend to be focused in hub cities like Dallas/Fort Worth, San Francisco Bay area, Raleigh Durham and places like that. So many engineers, SW developers, etc concentrated in one area drives down the wages. Scarcity is what leads to high value. Another problem with the "pipeline" of foreign engineers is it dilutes the talent pool so there are more applicants than jobs. Plus the way they teach kids math these days is really, REALLY convoluted. It's based on the associative rule and I get the idea is not to teach math but logical reasoning. But it takes a simple concept that we used to just memorize and makes it complicated. Sometimes I'm glad I never had kids. Imagine having to deprogram them every night from the nonsense they got in math class every day. 8 x 7 = 56. It just is. It's not a goddamned theorem that requires proving. Just memorize it.1 point

I think for the 2 post lifts the more high end ones are 5k euros, but you can get a good lift for 2-2.5k euros. Provided you have the minimal thickness and quality of concrete to bolt it to, otherwise you would need to go for a 4 post lift. As for height limits quickjacks are very popular now, but that means working on your back... You can also go old school and dig a service trench, that is what they do in my neighborhood, they buy 2 garages side by side, dig service trenches and open up shop. The funny thing is the 2 guys in my vicinity who did that came as highly recommended mechanics.1 point

I mean the easy answer is find out what people liked about NWN1 and NWN2 and what people disliked. Gear a game that combines the best while trying to avoid what was disliked.1 point

No worries at all Mortim! Sorry myself for taking so long to respond! I saw your post quite some time ago, but have been waiting on a substantial update to reply. Sadly, that's taking so long that I figured I'd just finally let you know I read it, hahaha. I decided to try and check a least some of each patch with my method, just in case. I also noticed that the initial WM release had a lot of unusual Sky Dragon bugs. Sadly, it's proving half-impossible to find that update, and the method itself takes a decent amount of time per patch. Moving on, thanks for clarifying all of that and ruling things out in your last post! If 2.0 WM has nothing in it when I finally get it, I think I'll just accept it was most likely an accidental release and move on to trying to see if I can insert a jerry rigged version--well, if I have time. Also, thank you for the updated info about DLL readers! Furthermore, our efforts have borne fruit! I don't know if it was you, or some other reader, but the Wiki page for PoE has changed I noticed, and it has since been updated by someone to verify there is no way in game to access the Sky Dragon mercy path. Was it coincidence? Maybe, but I doubt it. So I'll stick to thinking that some value has thus far been gained here! And hopefully there is still more to be gained... Again... Assuming I have the time. Cheers!1 point

I actually like that about Elex and PB games in general. I HATE level scaling with the fiery passion of a million suns. I like starting out as a weakling and crushing enemies beneath my boot at the end, it's why I overlevel whenever I can in a game when I feel the endgame coming. That said, Elex may be a bit extreme, even for my tastes, in this regard. I actually walked across the map to the Clerics' base about an hour into the game, probably 7 or 8 hours earlier than intended. It took A LOT of save scumming to make the trip.1 point

Yeah. As much as I love PB, and I most certainly do, they deserve criticism. My biggest gripe with them is how $#!+ the combat always is. In a weird way, Gothic 1 has the best combat they've ever made, at least when compared to their peers of the time. Pretty much all action RPGs had janky garbage combat back then. Since then PB's combat design has taken half a step forward. Meanwhile, the industry as a whole has taken 5 steps forward in terms of combat design. Edit: Could we get PB and Platinum Games drunk and have them make a baby game together? It would either be utterly brilliant or a Hindenburg-level disaster, but I GUARANTEE it wouldn't be dull.1 point

But so did Gothic 3? And as much as I enjoyed Elex, PB keep making the same game over and over and after 6 games they still aren't able to fix the jank and in some ways got worse.1 point

Online chess master lose his match, accuses opponent of cheating, and then things got ugly He’s right about one thing though. Chess computers do make certain moves that you just kind of expect. I guess if you played enough human and computer opponents you learn to spot the difference. As for the reactions, well nothing unexpected there LOL1 point

I never connected Gothic with a Bethsoft game. The gameplay is just way too different. Also yes, remember the last Gothic game that wasn't made by PB .... hint: It sucked ass. Gothic 4 was a joke. Oh, and that time they hired some indian studio to make an addon for Gothic 3 .... hilariously bad.1 point

I’ve never tried this myself but I have heard from more than one place that a can of mace will stop a grizzly bear more effectively than a 44 magnum. Of course both solutions hinge on one thing: don’t freaking miss!1 point

I can't speak for solo, but that dunnage fight becomes a lot easier (ignoring overleveling) when you realize that no one other than eamund has engagement. With micromanagement you run circles around all the rogues while taking out the ranged guys, and then you just need to make sure you have one tanky guy who engages eamund at the start. (optimally you wait for a rogue to wind up an attack like gouging strike, and then run out just before it connects, so they also waste resources) there's a very similarly hard fight after you get the task to get degnos's satchel. you get ambushed on the way back to queen's berth. you can take a violent path. it is extremely hard at the level you are expected to do this on potd. but similarly, only the main guy has engagement, so you can run circles around all the rogues while trying to focus down the ranged guys before they nuke you or swarm you with tentacles; it takes the fight from "for all intents and purposes impossible" to "barely possible with an optimized, rested party." edit: in my ultimate run i was an abject coward for the latter and just completely skipped the quest in the former1 point

There are set places in the game where sapphires occur as lot, such as one of the chests in Marahi's Metalwork, Arkemyr's vault, and the Hanging Sepulchers. They also appear as random loot, and can be found if you meticulously pickpocket. I believe that they also appear randomly in the Treasure Troves's inventory on Dunnage. If you use mods, there are also mods that make them appear regularly in other store's inventories.1 point

Definitely seemed weird. It's something I almost overlooked because...based on Makoto's general personality type, you'd almost *think* it would make sense for her stronger personality type...until you think back and reflect and realize that it's simply not the case: Makoto has always been lovey-dovey empathetic and a patient believer in others, and it's really more of a Rei thing if it was going to be anyone. Last episode (8) for the day:1 point

quick question to the OP: did you have hirelings? Going in is extremely brutal without a full party. i think there are a few more after port maje that give gorecci st and digsite a run for their money, but the difference is that you can try to overlevel or work around the other ones - port maje you're just stuck. Family Pride almost always kicks my butt at around the time you are expected to do it (one skull and oftentimes no skull). If I don't want a slog I consciously overlevel it. Similar thing with the Hanging Sepulchers - when you can do it first without a skull, those Risen wizards and rogues and priests (with minor avatar wtflol) and teleporting wraiths absolutely make the fight brutal, especially if I don't have a priest myself for an easy source of heal/damage/interrupt (holy radiance). Similarly, oathbinder sanctum is very very very brutal if you go there right when it's no-skulled and you actually want to fight the woedican cultists at the bottom. Especially with the 4.0 patch changes where they added in the steel garotte and woedica priest subclasses, you can just get overwhelmed with Garrote spamming (and getting repeatedly hit with writ of consumption sucks). I have to have a pretty powerful party or I just overlevel the dungeon. On a related note - early fights with enemy paladins suck. High defenses, spammable healing, and an aura = a pure slog.1 point
