Glad to see one of my favourite models from the tabletop (and the pride of my Wood Elf army) getting represented in the game:4 points

well i think what drives Cyberpunk for me (not mentioning Witcher quality) is the setting I am drawn to. I know it might be clique for some but I loved Johnny Mnemonic, Matrix and the likes so this fits in perfectly (they even have that laser string thingy!!) Also I liked Deus Ex and this is very close to it as well3 points

Ok, I get that there might be other modern world games, there are other open world games. GTA is the current king of the open world genre. I preferred Saint's Row myself, but the GTA games are the benchmark. Just like Skyrim seems to be the fantasy open world benchmark (or is it Witcher 3 now?) So yeah, Cyberpunk will get the comparison unless it becomes the new benchmark.3 points

Yep, that's it. Tried with a Helwalker and same thing: +2 wounds (and +2 mortification of course) on crit.2 points

Could it be that Stunning Surge give 2 Wounds on Crit to any Monk (but no one checked) ?2 points

https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/national-international/california-inmate-who-fought-wildfires-and-completed-sentence-now-faces-deportation/2404103/?_osource=SocialFlowFB_BAYBrand&fbclid=IwAR0ZU-usHlqC7A92aO8IiXnBU2PRnrPcvWo_5kOdblvoRaUG2VZahVpmAtQ Here is another ridiculous immigration story. This guy is a legal resident and has been in the US since he was 2. He spent most of his life in the prison system after committing a crime at 16 (which seems like a completely different issue.) Apparently he did well enough in prison to qualify for the firefighter program and has been active during the recent wildfire seasons. Now that he has finished his sentence, they have detained him and are trying to ship him back to Laos. He has no family there. I don't understand how this is Laos's problem. He grew up in the US, joined a gang here, committed his crime here, and served his time here. The US is 100% responsible for whether he is able to function as a member of society. This is happening in California, for all of those that think it is some liberal sanctuary for illegals.2 points

Ah, good thinking! That may be. As it lloks now Stunning Surge ist a must-have for a Shattered Pillar. Sounds nice but has one disadvantage: besides Persistent Distraction there's no engagement. If you want to take advantage of terrify + disengagment you should pile up some engement slots. I compared Trickster to Unbroken and the damage on disengagement wasn't that much different (Overbearing Guard gives +50% and Unbroken +10 PEN) while the Unbroken could create lot more disengagement attacks in a given time due to his passive (+1), Guardian Stance (+3) and Hold the Line (+1). He lacks terrify though so you would need a party member to cause that. Furyshaper is nice because +3 enagement from Barbaric Shout, +1 from Thick Skinned, terrify galore - but no that much damage on disengagement. On the other hand Blood Thirst. I guess there are lots of nice combos.1 point

Thank you, @Noqn! I’ll test this tomorrow and look into including the adra potion as well.1 point

Ah, I found it! You are missing the "$type" parameter in each component { "$type": "Game.GameData.AfflictionGameData, Assembly-CSharp", "DebugName": "boon_luminous_water", "ID": "854b5b0c-b401-41f1-9741-6e52d0d24b35", "Components": [ { -------> "$type": "Game.GameData.StatusEffectComponent, Assembly-CSharp", "ClearOnRest": "false", "ClearOnFoodRest": "false" } ] }1 point

Thousand thanks for the testing, @Boeroer! Just a theory but I think it might be the resource restoring effect of Stunning Surge somehow interacting with Shattered Pillar's passive and also "restoring" Wounds. What do you think about Shattered Pillar + Trickster? Great Deflection spells for Offensive Parry, and Ryngrim's Repulsive Visage for terrify. Extra good wound generation from Sneak attack/Deathblows damage.1 point

At least under Xi it's absolutely official state policy that China Is Great, and anything to the contrary is everyone else being racist. It was a lot less so under his immediate predecessors though as they were a lot less dictatorial. The policy formulators don't actually believe that of course, but it's good for internal politics to frame anyone supporting reform as anti Chinese, and it is good for deflecting/ changing the narrative when it comes to external relations too.1 point

Despite my 87% sureness Riposte does NOT generate wounds. :sadpandaface Offensive Parry DOES generate wounds. Okay, new list of wound generating stuff for Shattered Pillar: - auto attacks - Stunning Surge (2 per use - needs more testing) - Mortification of the Soul - Dance of Death - Parting Sorrow (nice in combination with Disengagement Attack) - Disengagement Attacks (nice in combination with terrify) - Offensive Parry - Imagined Pain (nice in combination with Offensive Parry) A Furyshaper/Shattered Pillar with Barbaric Shout (+3 engagement), Fear Ward and later Spirit Storm (both terrify) in combination with Parting Sorrow is harvesting wounds very quickly.1 point

That is the big difference, and China's focus on suppressing/ monitoring internal dissent within their own already tightly controlled environment means that when they turn their attention to external matters and trying to influence them they tend to be spectacularly tone deaf and counterproductive (eg their awful 'wolf warrior' system which sounds/ works great internally) because they tend to start from the position that the CCP is obviously great and aren't used to having counter arguments or having to actually persuade/ influence people as opposed to using more direct leverage and control. The Russian internet is far more open and they have far more exposure to how people actually behave and think outside the very tightly controlled 1984 style Chinese system. Even then the Russian influence, such as it is, tends to be leveraging idiots as most propaganda from everyone does. The big exception for China and their big advantage is that they are very good at leveraging diaspora Chinese, almost all of whom have relatives still in China or assets that can be used against them. It is for example amazing how completely differently Mandarin language newspapers report things here as opposed to English language ones and they put a lot of effort into fostering the belief that any criticism of China/ CCP is inherently racist. Then there's the more direct political influence. We had a Chinese spy- literally literally, Jian Yang MP taught Chinese spies English at their academy and outright lied about it when he migrated here- in our Parliament up until 6 weeks ago, and both the ethnic Chinese MPs we have now were members of stridently pro CCP groups; and you also have the Australian situation where having said some stuff China doesn't like suddenly a lot of their agricultural products don't make Chinese standards any more, and you have a lot of businessmen whining about how their trade with China is being impacted by pesky human rights and other similar concerns. It's pretty obvious that Chinese influence is both more overt and more directly effective than any Russian influence, it's just by and large nowhere near as politically expedient to expose- much as rich Russians donating to the Tories or laundering money through London financial institutions is a topic the British government doesn't want to talk about; but for most of the world and on a larger scale.1 point

Cleaving Stance/Mob Stance do NOT generate wounds for Shattered Pillar.1 point

Disengagement Attacks do generate wounds for Shattered Pillar. Nice in combo with Parting Sorrow and some terrify ability.1 point

While Testing Swift Flurry with Shattered Pillar I found out that when I use Stunning Surge I always get 2 wounds. Doesn't matter if dual wielding or single handed or so. Always 2. Huh? I have no other wound abilites like Parting Sorrow etc. What is this? Swift Flurry and Heartbeat Drumming indeed do NOT generate wounds. In case of Swift FLurry this is a bit sad since Lightning Strikes' lash does (I guess at least)?1 point

I didn't do this for a long time and didn't play all those variants but only tested it in a console session rel. long ago - except the rel. recent partial run with Offensive Parry on the SP/Soulblade which def. worked. I'm also pretty sure about Riposte (which I didn't mention above). So maybe some of the interactions with additional attacks/SP got removed at some point in the past? Sorry if my info was deprecated and false. Now that I think about it a bit longer: maybe Cleaving Stance et al. worked before the "ability attacks don't generate wounds" nerf. If they count as ability attacks this might explain the discrepancy. Can also check each ability separately in an hour or so and will report what I found out. So in the meantime the cleansed list would be Mortification of the Soul, Dance of Death, Parting Sorrow, Imagined Pain, Offensive Parry and Riposte (the last one not 100% sure but like 87% ).1 point

So guys I just made an account to say that K_A_T's solution worked perfectly, I picked up the Definitive edition on Steam after playing on Gamepass. Gonna play a good few hours later to check everything is ok but all seems perfect as other users have said, anyway thanks for the good work K_A_T you are a credit to the community !1 point

China does have the developing tradition of what translates as "water armies" - basically a building full of geeks all running dozens if not hundreds of fake social media accounts to help shape/direct public perception and opinion. However, from my raw understanding, that's generally more of an internal, within the country thing, quite often used for celebrities and companies more than anything else. Russia has that developed as part of their cyberwarfare program as a means to shape opinions in other countries, and obfuscate any stories that involve Russian interests. That's what a lot of Trumpists seem to ignore, Russian interference wasn't in creating fake votes, it was designed to shape public perception, create discord, and convince people. Basically, all the things that any normal politician is doing these days. It was creating slanted news stories and making sure they get fed into peoples news feeds on an endless cycle, reinforcing beliefs and attitudes. Its psychological and social, not fraud and artificial votes.1 point

China is in it for profit and neither presidential candidate suits their need, so they'll just use their G5 network to do what China does best, steal intellectual property and user data. Something I'm certain The US does too, which is why all company mails really should be encrypted. Russia on the other hand seems to prefer Trump as president (greetings and congratulations to Biden noticeably absent from The Kremlin). Presumably because they consider Trump a weakening of a rival (The US). A **** storm seems to be easy to stir up in the US and sway public opinion once the masses are enraged. That leaves Iran and they can't even defend themselves against Israeli cyber attacks, so I'll just write them off as a non-player in the US election when it comes to interference.1 point

Finished up Season 4 of The Good Place. It ended well. It was a pretty special comedy, and I think 4 seasons is probably the perfect length. Some of these sitcoms (hard to call this a situational comedy) tend to drag on too long. Great cast, smart writing, and a fun premise. I will miss it. There is word about a spinoff with Shawn and The Bad Place. That could work.1 point

Dinner last night was most awesome. Sunny & I drove down to the Lauderdale river landing and did some fishing from the bank. After just 10 minutes I hooked a nice sized largemouth Bass. All across the USA & world there are pro shops selling billions of dollars worth of fancy lures and fishing tackle. They can keep all that trash. Nightcrawlers, crickets, minnows, & shiners. That is all you will ever need! The fish was a big enough for two filets. I dipped it in cornmeal batter and pan fried and served up with butterbeans & pear sauce (applesauce made with pears). Freshwater fish is seriously underrated for dinner!1 point

Howdy all! I'm a long time survival player and recently picked up Grounded. What an awesome game! I love the style and feel and atmosphere. Very happy to be playtesting this awesome game. I recently unlocked the ability to build and have started to lay out my first base. One thing that immediately jumped out at me is the choice of basic building materials (square and triangle). I noticed that Obsidian chose to go with a 90°-45°-45° triangle piece rather than a 60°-60°-60° which unfortunately limits our building shapes, especially circular building. I've created a little graphic that shows the most basic implication of this choice of triangle. alternate link: https://i.imgur.com/Kt0TOcV.png As you can see, a 90°-45°-45° triangle has sides: 1, 1, sqrt(2) = 1.414 instead of 1, 1, 1 in a 60°-60°-60° triangle. This means that one of the sides cannot connect to the square piece. The outcome of this in the most basic sense is that we can't use triangles to make a closed shape other than a rotated and slightly larger (~ +.414) square. With an equilateral triangle, you can make a hexagon which allows you to make much more rounded structures. For a strong demonstration of the power of this system see Conan Exiles which uses these triangles. This game is so charming, and the aesthetic of the grass/sticks is so awesome that I'm really hoping the building system is adjusted to unlock some great building flexibility. Thanks for reading, I can't wait to see what comes next! -Tooltip1 point
