  2. Hello, Hurlshot. Welcome to Internet. Here, there's no middle ground between pull-yourself-up-by-the-bootstraps 100-hour weeks FREEDOM without social benefits and FULL COMMUNISM where the state gives you boatloads of free stuff and lines you against the wall*. Better even, this thinking seems to be becoming more and more widespread as people are more interested in scoring points than get anywhere in a conversation. There comes a point where you're more likely to get through to the person in front of you with your fists than with words. I think we reached that point cca 2016. Enjoy your stay! *not necessarily in that order

  3. There is some talk about the text being weirdly written, as if it was edited by a chinese person. Now that sounds like some pretty nice conspiracy, but if you look at it in detail... seems kinda fitting. /Edit: https://appuals.com/blizzard-presidents-apology-was-written-by-a-chinese-person-say-bilingual-chinese-english-speakers/

  4. As for lack of marketing, I would agree if they were going for a different audience. I think they're going for fans of Obsidian RPGs, and I think all of those are aware of TOW. As for releasing on the same day as COD, so what? Completely different games with completely different target audiences.

  5. Or using Binding Web to root them in place. A few Wizard "tricks": Concelhaut's Draining Touch: one of the best weapons in the game: targets Will instead of Deflection --> cast stuff like Miasma (-40 Will) and Dazzling Lights (-10 Will, stacks with Miasma) and maybe use a club + modal (-25 Will) weakens on hit --> -10 Fortitude debuff and reduces enemy's health by 25% drains damage as health (20%) does corrode damage (works with Spirit of Decay: +1 PEN) usually not so great because it dissipates after one hit or crit - BUT: Neverending Draining Touch: don't learn it but use a grimoire that contains it cast it from that grimoire, then switch to a grimoire which doesn't contain it (important). --> it will stay with you for the whole fight (doesn't go away after hit/crit) Draining (Essential or Substancial) Phantom: if you cast Draining Touch and then summon a phantom it will inherit the weapon and it will not go away (on the phantom). phantoms with Draining Touch do great damage (for a summon), weaken the enemy and heal themselves in the process. meanwhile you can lower Will on the target with the methods I mentioned above: lots of phantom-crits then Combine with Draconic Fury: Zandethus Draconic Fury works very well with Draining Touch (since you will be in melee anyway). Not only will the damage be better due to the two lashes (both multiplicative dmg boosts) but also it can terrify your attackers which then will be weakened and terrified (-10 Fortitude, -10 Will, -10 Deflection) Kalakoth's Minor Blights: smallish AoE but all AoE hits do the same damage roll as the initial one Uue it on a phantom and it will stay for the rest of the summoning duration and will NOT cycle through the different damage types. Instead it will stay with the elemental damage it had when you summoned the phantom. That way you can determine the element with which the phantom will attack. Can ver very useful against certain immune enemies. You can pick from four elements (just wait for the right one and then summon phantom). Rekvu's Fractured Casque: immune to interrupts if you have an injury you can injure yourself easily with Necrotic Lance: Cast it until you go down - works out of combat. You can also let party members hit you and only delivere the last blow with Necrotic Lance. Only the knockout damage counts and determines your injury. You'll only get an "Acute Rash" which is a very minor injury which doesn't hamper you much. You'll gain total immunity to interrupts. That includes interrupts from Grimoire of Vaporous Wizardry and Slicken - that means you can stand in your own Slicken and nothing will happen. Your Pull of Eora will still pull you around but not interrupt you. A Mag Slayers disruption will do nothing against you (not that I ever encountered one who did this to me, but still... ). Rekvu's Scorched Cloak: Fire attacks heal you instead of dealing damage. Same tactic as with the Casque: Necrotic Lance. cast fire spells on yourself (Fireball, Delayed Blast Fireball, Wall of Flame etc.) and get healed a bit while your enemies die. If confused you can also cast Combusting Wounds on yourself which - combined with Wall of Flame - makes for a superb healing source (but maybe too finicky to use it often) Upright Captain's Belt: makes you immune to push & pull effects combine with Fracured Casque and run around in your Pull of Eora + Slicken Area totally freely and unhindered while everybody else just gets messed up completely Arkemyr's Brilliant Departure: makes you invisible for quite some time this invisibility will not break prematurely (as most other invisibility effects) if you don't deal damage. That means you can deal CC and debuffs from invisibility. If you are an Assassin that means constant +25 ACC. For a SC Bloodmage it "only" means being untouchable while casting non-damaging spells, but still awesome. Wall Spells don't break that Invisibility either (since they are "hazards") which means you can totally kill enemies with Wall Spells (Combusting Wounds + Wall of Flame or Wall of Many Colors etc.) without becoming visible. Also the attacks of your phantoms (with Draining Touch or Minor Blights or Spirit Lance etc.) will not break your invisibility Regenerating Bloodmage Use regeneration items like Tree Trolls Stiched, Ring of (Greater) Regeneration, Voidward and Fleshmender armor and eat fresh fruit at rest (+25% healing - or similar) as well as getting a Physiker's Belt and Bonesetter's Torc for better healing. You will be able to spam one single powerful spell endlessly without going down from self damage - for example Ninagauth's Shadowflame. Cast - Blood Sacrifice - cast - Blood Sacrifice - and so on Wall of Draining As @Raven Darkholme already said it's an often overlooked spell. Especially in combo with Arkemyr's Brilliant Departure: Draining Wall will not break the invisibility and prolong it like crazy. You can cast Walls and CC spells without ever becoming visible again. God mode so to speak. Minoletta's Piercing Sigil stun and dmg retaliation on getting hit), Zahndetu's Draconic Fury (terrify retaliation on getting hit) and Cloak of Death ("withdraw" and DoT retaliation on getting hit) don't stack their effects but mess each other up. Just decide for one. Concelhaut's Corrosive Skin + Brilliant Departure: Cast it on a tough enemy from stealth and then use Brilliant Departure, then move away from sight. It's a great Assassination spell. The enemy will not see you, your invis. wil not break from the DoT and the enemy will die. Rinse and repeat. You can take out whole groups one by one with that tactic. Citzal's Enchanted Armory: gain permanent one handed (!), scaling Great Swords: Cast Enchanted Armory and then swallow a potion of Form of the Fearsome Brute. End combat (by winning while the form persists). Once the combat is over and the form ends you will keep the Great Sword. You can do that as often as you like and e.g. give your fellow party member two Great Swords for dual wielding. Or wield one with One Handed Style and modal on (+30% damage without losing ACC compared to a normal Great Sword). Blightheart: one of the few items that can raise spell damage: a wizard can get +10% corrosive lash (that's multiplicative dmg) for his damaging spells when wearing it. Great stat stick for a nuker. That's what I remember from the top of my head. There will me more for sure.

  6. There's nothing, then a glimmer... Then you're dead! Build Name : The Glimmer Man Class : Swashbuckler (Fighter/Rogue) Subclasses : Tactician/Assassin Introduction : Pure sniper build using the interraction between invisibility and Brilliant Tactician. Firearms ensure that you can use Smoke Veil instantly and avoid any damage. If you don't play with Berath's challenge activated then Smoke Veil will just end the fight - use it at max range, run out of the enemy's sight, then restealth and come back to finish the target. The build starts working as soon as you get Smoke Veil. Game Version : 5.0 Difficulty : PotD Solo : Yes (or keep your party out of the fights) Race : Island Aumaua Culture : The Living Lands Background : Scientist Attributes : 21Mig/3Con/15Dex/18Per/18Int/3Res Skills : max Arcana (for Spearcaster - required for Dorudugan) Equipment : weapon - Dragon's Dowry (Eccea's Arcane Blaster vs pierce immunes), helmet - Acina's Tricorn, necklace - Charm of Bones, armor - High Harbinger's Robes, cloak - Ajamuut's Stalking Cloak, gloves - Woedica's Strangling Grasp/Gloves of the Dungeon Warden/Killer's Gloves, Ring1 - Ring of the Marksman, Ring2 - Ring of Focused Flame, Belt - Sash of Judgment, Boots - Footprints of Ahu Taka Abilities (required) : Disciplined Barrage - Disciplined Strikes+Escape, Backstab, Smoke Veil, Dirty Fighting, Fighter Stances - Conquerer Stances, Penetrating Strike, Fast Runner, Arms Bearer, Confident Aim, Two-Handed Style, One-Handed Style, Weapon Specialization, Quick Switch, Fearless, Armored Grace, Uncanny Luck, Tough, Improved Critical, Unbreakable, Weapon Mastery Temporary Bonuses : Sharksoup, Nature's Resolve, Alchemic Brawn, Alchemic Guile, Alchemic Wits, Adratic Glow, Rabyuna's Boon Other Recommended Abilities : Gift of the Machine, Effigy's Resentment: Sagani, Savage Cunning, Infamous Captain, Cauldron Brew - Might Pet : Harley (10%dmg/3acc ranged) How it works : Invisibility + Brilliant Tactician Observations : Persistent Distraction doesn't work with ranged. Deep Wounds (and all dots) will keep you in combat preventing Brilliant Tactician from triggering. Deathblows could work in theory (use sparcrackers) but in practice is not worth the effort. Belt of Magran's Chosen is good too, but the blight it summons can prevent Brilliant Tactician from triggering, making you waste more time. Sometimes enemies get stuck in a loop preventing the combat from ending - staying out of their sight and becoming invisible again will usually fix it.

  7. Let me say at the outset that I have nothing against turn-based games; I thoroughly enjoy DOS and DOS 2, however, this is not what this post is about. POE was conceived and developed on the very basic concept of pause and play, which is, by its very nature, fundamentally different from turn-based. Look at duration; in turn-based, such as DOS 2, negative and positive effects are based on, logically, turns. It makes sense. In pause and play, duration is based on basic time units. This is just to cite one example among many that would naturally lead to a clash of visions and more importantly, implementation. The prominent Affliction Bug, which remains to this day, as we wait on the patch to fix it, seems to be highly correlated with the emergence of turn-based mode. Whatever ambitions Obsidian might have had, and one can well laud them for it, turn-based was an unnecessary diversion of resources that could have been funneled into the base game by improving pause and play game-play , stability and all other aspects of the core game. To the best of my knowledge, very few people of the most devoted player-base actually cared excessively for turn-based in POE, which won us all over via pause and play, not turn-based. I sincerely hope in the future, IF there is a POE future that turn-based is avoided as an unnecessary distraction from the core game.

  11. Packers are the only team in the NFL to have defeated another team >=100 times...and it's stood at 100 wins since we swept them in 2016. The two losses in 2017 were against Brett Hundley, the 2018 @Lions game would've likely been won if not for a Mason Crosby apocalyptic-level kicking day (missed 3 FGs all under 50 yards + a 56 yarder + an XP) and the terrible fumbles didn't help either, and the final 2018 @Packers game was vs. Brett Hundley due to Rodgers being concussed in the first quarter. Hoping to make it 101 wins this Monday after all this nonsense.

  13. Let's dispel once and for all with this fiction that 213374U doesn't know what he's doing. He knows EXACTLY what he's doing. 213374U is undertaking a systematic effort to change this forum, to make forums.obsidian.net more like the rest of the internet. That's why he posts copypasta and smugly tells gamers off and was rude to a South African user. It is a systematic effort to change forums.obsidian.net. When I'm global moderator of this forum, we are going to re-embrace all the things that made forums.obsidian.net the greatest message board on the internet and we are going to leave future posters with what they deserve: the single greatest forum in the history of the internet.

  15. To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand sardonic political remarks. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical reader's head. There's also Bill Maher's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Thomas Friedman literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike sardonic references truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Charlie Kirk's existential catchphrase "gimme free stuffz," which itself is a cryptic reference to Lenin's Russian epic Sovnarkom Gosplan decree. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Stephen Colbert's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. And yes, by the way, I DO have an I'm With Her tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

  16. non-sequitur is the rv diesel? go diesel. is relative inexpensive to convert a diesel engine so that it runs on plant and animal-based oil. old cooking fat, suitably strained, is a perfect viable fuel, and the exhaust from your vehicle will smell like french fries. rendered human fats would work as well. as such, so as long as you are willing to murder-per-mile, your rv would never run outta fuel once doomsday cometh. HA! Good Fun!

  24. housekeeper is official retired, though we do make sure to call her at least once every week or so and give her a chance to berate us for not going to church. am a catholic who volunteers for all kinda church stuff, but am only going to services for special occasions. former housekeeper is concerned 'bout our soul and am knowing she feels better if she has a chance to try and persuade us to attend at least every sunday service, and perhaps more. she is one o' those catholics who goes to church sunday as well as at least once during the week in addition to regular attendance o' her bible study group. if we sudden started showing up to church every sunday, am certain it would count as little more than a good start. we cook for each other. am thinking Gromnir gets the better end o' the deal. still no cooking secrets learned. the new/old buick is in the garage and is slow getting the attention it deserves. technical is driveable. barely. we only have two season in our area: 1) hot and dry; 2) less hot and less dry. our rainy season should be starting soon, which means we should wrap up most o' our outdoor home and yard improvement projects within the next couple weeks. rain starts and the le sabre will get some tlc. 'course our yard is still a freaking mess... is embarrassing how much attention our yard needs. more first world problems, but we got a 1/3 acre golf course lot (more actual 'cause we landscaped common area) and am barely able to see any golf course from a first-floor window. the landscaping is more than a little overgrown. our photinias is in the 18' height range and capable o' repelling ww2 era tanks trying to penetrate our suburban fortress. am genuine shocked our neighbours haven't complained. should work on the yard more. don't want to. am approving o' your improvement to the cart, but am unlikely to be a role model for right and wrong for government enhancement projects. we were once chastised for encouraging kids in a juvenile hall where we worked to turn their oranges, a snack item which they typical threw in the garbage almost immediate after receiving, into juvenile hall jack o' lanterns. black marker, an orange and even the tiniest imagination can be combined to create a miniature approximation o' a traditional halloween decoration. one halloween, pretty much every kid in j-unit had a "jack o' lantern" sitting on their window ledges. the supervisors did not approve o' our sense o' whimsy. HA! Good Fun!

  25. I just did some tests with a Mage Slayer against Concelhaut, a Savage Xaurip High Priest, a nameless bounty Cipher and Uamoru the Pretender (Ranger/Chanter): Once I reach 4 stacks of Spell Disruption the wizard/priest spells as well as the cipher powers and chanter invocations will always get interrupted (see combat log: <character_name> interrupted <enemy_name>). If I have less than 4 then of course they may come through from time to time, but they also get interrupted often enough. Abilities which are not spells (e.g. his Nightmare Gaze or Enfeebling Touch from Concelhaut, Marked Prey and so on) will not get interrupted - 'cause no spell Instant spells (0.0 cast time) cannot be interrupted afaik. Are there any anyway? Can't recall... So it seems to work fine. @Aituo: May I ask which enemy you tried this on? Because some do have spell-like abilites, but they are not actually spells. This might be confusing but that's how it is. Only actual spells will get interrupted. Of course it may be hard to determine what's a spell and what's a "innate" ability of certain enemies. As a rule of thumb: everything that is neither kith (human, aumaua, orlan, elf, dwarf, godlike) nor wilder (xaurip, vithrack and so on) will most likely NOT use "proper" spells. Their spell-like abilites my even have the same name as the actual spells, but those are just copy-and-pasted spells that were given to them as abilites that they use. Some vessels like Risen Mages and skeletal wizards and so on also will get interrupted since they are proper wizards - although they are no kith but vessels. So tl;dr: it's a bit complicated, but generally it works. edit: by the way - the best part about spell disruption is that it not only prevents the cast, but it also means that the caster used up his resources. Like if you get interruoted when casting. spell use/focus/phrases etc. are gone and nothing happened. Of course against certain enemies that seem to have limitless casts this isn't important, but against most casters it's great. A good weapon to apply spell disruption is Sun and Moon (applies 2 disruptions per hit). If you use auto-attacks mostly it's best to put a ranged weapon in the offhand and Sun & Moon in the main hand. You can then attack with dual wielding speed but only the flail is actually used - effectively putting 4 stacks of disruption on the enemy very quickly. Another is to use Last Word: It will prevent any offensiv ability use. If used by a Mage Slayer you can effectively shut down all offensive ability use and also all casts (even if they are not offensive). Using a Stalker as Multiclass partner can make sure your ACC is high enough so that you crit often enough.

  27. Most are pretty straightforward. Edér: Fighter/Rogue distraction tank with Cadhu Scalth (+modal), Kapana Taga, Reckless Brigandine, Hold the Line, Helm of the Champion, Entonia Signet, +Protection and +Deflection gear, Persistent Distraction, Armored Grace, Adept Evasion, Riposte, Mob Stance, Refreshing Defense, Deathblows, Unbending (and so on). Basically like an Unbroken/Trickster but without the goodies of both classes. Still works very well. Goal is to have a sticky tank with 5 engagement slots without using Defender Stance. The items help a lot in that regard. Also works with Defender Stance if you want other gear and more defensive capabilities. Anyway you only need enough staying power to bind lots of enemies to you at the start of combat. You distract all of them automatically (very nice passive auto-debuff with no "saving throw"). You will still deliver decent melee dmg but at the same time be nearly impervious to ranged and AoE dmg (shield modal + Adept Evasion). Because of that you can get hit by your teammates' AoE spells (e.g. your Wizard's) and don't care much. Usually your bound enemies do care though and die. Tekēhu: SC Watershaper with Deltro's Cage + Lord Darryn's Voulge as "stat stick". Or same with him as Watershaper/Stormspeaker. Pallegina: Herald tank. High defenses and passive healing. Fat armor, Lethandria's Devotion, Sasha's Singing Scimitar (Shopcking Prelude + Refreshing Finale: use empowered White Worms and later empwered Eld Nary), Blackened Plate Armor with "Life in Death", Exalted Endurance + Ancient Memory and so on. Keep near your allies. Maia Rua: Scout with focus on arquebus. All the stuff that increases arquebus dps: Gunner, Marksman, Driving Flight, Stalker's Link, Marked for the Hunt, Deathblows, Accurate Wounding Shot, Arterial Strike, Blinding Strike, maybe Pierce the Bell against the really high AR foes (it has +5 PEN). And so on. Maybe not Toxic Strike since her INT is pretty low. Use the Red Hand or Dragon's Dowry. Dragon's Dowry is one of the best weapon for backstabbing: sneak up to a target, use Arterial Strike to "backstab" and immediately retreat with either Escape or Evasive Roll (usually Evasive Roll is better since you need more Guile than Bond in an encounter). If you use Escape and enchanted her armor with "Return Fire" and also pick Superior Camouflage it's not uncommon to trigger Return Fire's crit conversion often. If you don't want to backstab then just stick to the Red Hand and fire away. Aloth: SC Wizard - nothing special. Grimoire of Vaporous Wizardry, Rekvu's Fractured Casque. Injure yourself with Necrotic Lance in between fights so you always carry an Acute Rash injury (it's a very minor debuff but you gain immunity to interrupts and +1 spall casts per spell tier). Either go for Chromprismatic Staff as stat stick (Power Level bonuses) or Blightheart (+10% corrosive lash for spells is great) or Griffin's Blade + a small shield for more staying power and a bit increased spell dmg. Or use Magran's Favor + Sun & Moon for your fire spells. SC Wizard "The Terror": use Effigy's Husk + Whitewhitch Mask + Eye of Wael (=+3 PL to illusions) and aim for Illusion spells like Miasma + Curse of Blackend Sight, Repulsive Visage and Enervating Terror, Gaze of the Adragan, Wall of Many Colors, Kalakoth's Freezing Rake. You can use a club + modal to lower Will by 25 on a single target if you wish. Best in this case might be Shattered Vengeance with "Coordinated Escape". Very strong debuffer (lower Will to the ground with Misama and then terrify the heck out of everybody) but also later a strong damage dealer with Freezing Rake. Use Concelhaut's Draining Touch + Essential Phantom for this trick: the Draining TOuch will not go away on a Phantom after a succesful hit, so it can keep hitting the enemy with it, It does very high corrode damge. Especially since it targets will and not deflection. You are a strong strong will debuffer: see the synergy? The Phantom will hit enemies like a truck because it frequently crits with Draining Touch. It will heal itself in the process (draining) and apply weakened to the target. If it drops below 50% health it will also cast Repulsive Visage because of the mask. If it dies it will trigger the Husk's raw AoE attack on death. If you use Shroud of the Phantasm you can do all that times 6 (six Phantoms) - but of course only 1/rest. If you use Arkemy'r Grimoire there's an Illusion spell names "Arkemyr's Brilliant Departure" which makes you invisible and doesn't break if you only cast CC on enemies (no damage though). That means that you can cast for example a Miasma on a crowd without becoming visible. It's like CC god mode a bit. Also Wall spells (Wall of Many Colors but also Wall of Flames) will not end the invisibility because they are hazards (their own game character entity) which will not be connected to you dealing damage. Xoti: SC Priest- Very straightforward - just works. Use her lantern - it's great for that. User her as main support/secondary healer and kind of offtank. SC Monk. As melee Monk use her fists mostly and aim for Whispers of the Wind + Resonant Touch and make her the main damage dealer in order to get something out of her subclass. As mid-ranged SC Monk: use Serafen's two Hand Mortars and go gunmonk. This is very strong with Stunning Surge, Flagellanth's Path and Whispers of the Wind/Resonant Touch. Use Lightning Strikes, Duality of mortal Presence (INT) - no need to pick Turning Wheel since it's melee only. Pick everything that gives you ACC, PEN and INT (AoE size): Enduring Dance, Thunderous Blows, Razor's Edge, Ring of Overseeing, Ring of the Marksman, Aloth's Armor, Heaven's Cacophony and so on. Start fights with Enduring Dance and then fire away with Stunning Surge. Use wounds for Thunderous Blows in between, later for Whispers of the Wind and Resonant Touch as well. Stunning Surge will ost nothing if it crits only once in the AoE and you will even get back Mortification from her class passive if you kill (which happens a lot if she's the main AoE damage dealer). She works great with a single-target-focused Maia Rua: Maia picks off the dangerous single targets, Xoti wrecks the mobs. This woirks very well with a stiyk tank Edér and Aloth using Pull of Eora to cramp as many mobs a possible into a tight space. Also Aloth can use Dazzling Lights to lure enemies from stealth into a tight spot where Edér then egages and Aloth casts Pull of Eora. If you use Pull of Eora much gie Edér an item that makes him immune to push/pull effects (like the Horns of the Aurochs or the Upright Captain' Belt - very good in this case). In all monk cases go for Precognition as amulet and Stalking Cloak for the back. Whispers of the Wind makes you invisible so you will stun every enemiy you hit with it. Serafen (I like him if that isn't obvious): Witch with Willbreaker and White Witch Mask, use Blooded - works very well with the Mask. Use Spirit Frenzy/Tornado to apply Staggered (-10 Fortitude) and Secret Horrors to apply SIckened (another -10 Fortitude). Cast Borrowed Instincts a lot (+20 ACC besides other stuff) and hit enemies with the modal "Body Blows" on (-25 Fortitude) - then using Soul Ignition/Disintegrate and other fortitude based stuff on them. Your accuracy will virtually be +65(!). Use Brute Force to target fortitude instead of deflection if it's lower (often is with the Morning Star + Sprit Frenzy + Secret Horrors). The Morning Star also lowers Will (-3 per hit) which is great for most other cipher powers that don't target fortitude. Also use Psychovampiric Shield to lower enemies Will by -20 and Deflection by 10. Use Whisper of Treason and/or Puppet Master, too. Although you are a melee guy you should use these because they are very strong. Don't hit your charmed enemies - else they flip back. Let them fight for you instead. Skill your Will into the sky (Iron Will +15 & Bull's Will +10) and use the highest shock AR gear you can find (so.. NOT plate armor). When casting, don't be too near to your allies in case you miscast (can wipe your friends). Use Deltro's Cage Helmet to profit from the miscast (if you survive). Witch with Lord Darryn's Voulge, Deltro's Cage - mostly applying Static Charges with Carnage and using Soul Shock on your tank. SC Barb, aiming for Driving Roar with Blood Thirst, Bloodlust, Spirit Frenzy, Acina's Tricorn, Lance of the Midwood Stag (Lord of the Forest). Let a fellow druid cast Woodskin or Form of the Delemgan on you right at the start of battle. Or count on the weapon's enchant, ment to give you Woodskin at some point. In this case it can be good to also wear Nature's Embrace. Gain +2 PL and attack from second row with Spirit Frenzy + Carnage and use the yell/roar to deliver dmg and apply Shaken, Daze and Staggered as AoE CC until you get Driving Roar. At that point just be your party's best ranged damage dealer with incredible dmg output for just 1 Rage per cast. Also pick Improved Critical etc. Against crush-immune or resistant enemies either use your Lance or pick Instrument of Boundless Rage. Use two Necklaces of Fireballs: one in the stach and one on your neck. Before getting Driving Roar cast up tp 8 Fireballs per encounter (trigger Staggered with Spirit Frenzy, Blooded also works and so do Frenzy and Bloodlust/Blood Thirst for casting speed) after encounter stack the empty necklace with the full one in the stash - tada: both have 8 charges again. If you like fire attacks a lot you can also go Magran's Favor (+ Bleeding Cuts) + Sun & Moon + Instruments of Boundless Rage + Necklace of Fireballs + Spirit Tornado + Dragon Leap + Barbaric Shout + Barbaric Retaliation + Blunting Belt + Patinated Plate (Bronze Juggernaut + Constant Reboud) + Death's Maw + Stalwart Defiance + Thick Skinned + Blooded + One Stands Alone + Heart of Fury + Barbaric Smash + Blood Surge + Blood Thirst + Bloodlust (hope that all fits into one char Can't remember the exact portfolio). Maybe also use Three Trolls Stiched or Nemnok's Cloak. Ragged Cloak for more retaliation damage. Jump into the midst of the enemy and let them hit you. With dazing and such high AR they won't do much damage but crit you a lot, triggering Barbaric Retaliation with Bleeding Cuts and self heal from Sun & Moon. If you're too low on hralth use Stalwart Defiance. All the while cast Fireballs from the Necklace or use Instrument of Boundless Rage or simply Barbaric Smash. All your fire based attacks will have +4 Power Level during daytime. Suicide Bomb - SC Barb: use Effigy's Husk, Effort, Shroud of the Phantasm in hard fights, else Mantle of the Seven Bolts, Vengeful Defeat, Heart of Fury, Pather's Leap, Blooded, Accurate Carnage, Blood Storm and so on. Jump into enemies and start hacking away. You want to be very fast but not too fragile. Should you go down: Deal tremendous AoE damage from Effort (Full AoE Attack), Husk (Raw AoE attack), Vengeful Defeat (Full AoE attack) and Mantle (Shock AoE attack) to everything around you. Get revived by a Paladin, Priest, Druid or Chanter and try again. Very good on itself but not if you don't like resting. In tight encounters use the Shroud to summon 6 copies of you which have low health and do the same on death as you: EXPLODE! . Nothing except fat bosses might survive this if your timing/position is good... If you want you can copy the Ring of Reset from the Deck of Many Things. You can do that without the console if you export a custom character with the ring (use a lvl-1-adventurerer with only the ring - to avoid hich recruitment costs). Hire him then in the other game in a tavern and take the Ring. Now you have two. They can form a stack in the stash. If one is emoty stack it with the other one and it will be recharged. This way you can go down 3 times in an encounter (trigger AoW dmg) and get back up right again without taking an injury. It's cheesy - but if you like that build idea but hate resting this might be your thing. It's a lot of fun. By the way: Ring of Reset doesn't work on Phantoms... (see Aloth). Well... some might not be that straightforward now that I read all this again...

  29. I'll buy it on release. I've never (nor will ever) pre-order games though. Okay, maybe that's not quite true since I did the whole Kickstarter donation thing for PoE. But that's not quite the same thing.

  30. I've been running basically this build since 1.1 dropped, but with a focus on summoning (as a replacement for my Shieldbearer/Beckoner from before 1.1). It is great; you are right that once you get Exalted Endurance at level 10 to pair with Ancient Memory, your healing is awesome. I have some suggestions for gear and race: - Might really helps this build, so using Coastal Amaua for the +2 might (and the Might affliction resistance) is a great fit. The +2 might gauntlets from the peddler in the Brass Citadel are helpful too. - You want all the +healing gear: there is a belt, a necklace, and boots. And the +healing pet (which I gave up to use the Baldur difficulty-scaling mod). - This works especially well with the no-rest strategy detailed here, because of the +50% healing boost you get from the Blessing of the Dawnstars in Port Maje (don't get it before you are ready to never rest again). That is a build-making buff; by far the most important thing you can get for this build. - I also added the concept of getting as many party-boosting buffs on gear as possible: the Baubles of the Fin, the Companion's Prelude upgrade to the chanter saber that boosts action speed for companions, Pallegina's armor until you find something better. The chanter saber also has an upgrade that refunds an empower point when you use it on an invocation, so you can use an empowered Fingers of Daylight once each fight even if you are doing a no-rest run (it doubles the number of beams shot out) to further take advantage of the healing theme and boosts you have. - I just found the perfect late-game armor for the build: the Blackened Plate Armor. The Life in Death upgrade gives you yet another healing aura that does basically the same amount of healing again as each of your other two (from Ancient Memory and Exalted Endurance), because it also benefits from might and the +healing gear and buff, as well as intelligence boosting the aura range. It only gets to that full amount of healing when the character being healed is low health, but even when they are high health it does some. You can add to that the Usher's Visage aura, which debuffs armor and causes raw damage (also benefits from Might). - The shield from the Dark Cupboard with the healing aura doesn't really add much to this build, since that healing doesn't benefit from might and the +healing gear the way the Blackened Plate armor's aura does. My Blackened Plate and Exalted Endurance auras are each at about 9 hp per 3 seconds, Ancient Memory at about 3 per second, for a total of about 9 hp per second. The Dark Cupboard shield only does 1 per 6 seconds, or 1 per 3 seconds at night when upgraded. That doesn't amount to much. So I use the shield from Crookspur that has an aura that gives +1 armor. EDIT: I was wrong! The Dark Cupboard shield does benefit from might and healing boosts; I can get it up to 2 hp per 6 seconds or 2 per 3 at night. I still think I prefer the +1 armor, but the healing shield fits the build concept better. When you add all that up, you have the ultimate party leader and supporter: summons, lots of party-support auras, tons of healing both passive and active, and you look like a badass because you are an aumaua with a huge shield. Add the mod that allows facial hair on Aumaua and pick the biggest, most bristling beard available. I'm loving it. I'm using the Baldur the Difficulty-Scaling pig mod and the Deadly Deadfire mod, and this character is completely carrying my party despite doing basically no damage himself. I can outlast anyone, despite not having any healing on anyone else in the party. It works better the more melee characters you have, so that they are all within aura range. I can usually keep Maia in aura range, but it is tricky sometimes.
