sorophx
reminds me of Cannon Fodder and that other game for the Genesis, "Generals" something Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. Azdeus
Looks more MoH rather than CoD. I like what I see, leaning to the sides in corners, tactical advance and chatter. Not to mention it looks and sounds amazing. Remains to be seen if the scenes actually need any input, or if it is like CoD in that department. Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. Edited March 2, 2011 by Nightshape I came up with Crate 3.0 technology. Crate 4.0 - we shall just have to wait and see.Down and out on the Solomani RimNow the Spinward Marches don't look so GRIM! Morgoth
So, anybody played the Crysis 2 demo? Because I can't create an account because mycrysis.com always crashes. FFS Crytek, can't you even get the simplest things properly done? Rain makes everything better.
WorstUsernameEver
So, anybody played the Crysis 2 demo? Because I can't create an account because mycrysis.com always crashes. FFS Crytek, can't you even get the simplest things properly done? I played just fine. The fact that they didn't let people tinker with settings besides some presets was fairly annoying though. Game still looks gorgeous and ran pretty well at "Hardcore" though. Gameplay wise, my first impression was that they toned down the importance of powers compared to the original, but I didn't really play much of either game. Also, somewhat unintuitive controls. Morgoth
Okay, finally managed to play a match or two. Looks pretty good for a DX9 game. I didn't see any difference between Advanced and Hardcore graphic setting, so I switched to Advanced. Very good framerate. The gameplay itself feels very clunky though, very console-ish. entrerix
i didnt like crysis 1, so part 2 is definitely on my wait for a $5 sale list. Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. I am there. and the other player is there. and it's just the two of us. and I put the other player's body in my van. and I am the winner. - Nice Pete. Maria Caliban
4e sucks. 3.X blows. My favorite PnP RPG is currently Exalted. However, it has one of the most broken combat systems you could ever want. Niten_Ryu
Looks more MoH rather than CoD. I saw smoother video version on this... I think Ars Technicas site. Movement animation is probably best I've seen, maybe in any digital medium. I guess DiCE put some extra hours on research. I guess work done for Mirror's Edge didn't go to waste and they continued to develop animations even more. Damn, I wish mobs would move like that in all games. Compare that to say like movement in Dragon Age 2 Hopefully we get more info how DiCE did it in the near future. Let's play Alpha Protocol My misadventures on youtube. WILL THE ALMIGHTY
That BF3 trailer honestly did not look impressive or interesting in any way. "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"
Niten_Ryu
That BF3 trailer honestly did not look impressive or interesting in any way. Yeah, I can imagine it don't look that different for untrained eye. In my POV improvements in animation and game mechanics are same as the excellent writing or storyline are for the majority in this board. When most discuss how romances suck in Dragon Age, I whine about wooden animation, horrible graphics and lack of jumping I found bit more info about new animation system. It is based on previous DiCE works, including Mirror's Edge and last Battlefield, but also EA's sport titles (as those must have great movement animations). Good news is that Bioware and DiCE are both EA team, so in theory Mass Effect and Dragon Age brands might use same system in future titles. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/arc...tlefield-3.aspx Let's play Alpha Protocol My misadventures on youtube. It's going to be interesting to see how much "engine bleed" we are going to see in the near future. So far we have Frostbite and ID Tech which have, well, promise at least, and the publishers still using inferior/outdated tech for their other AAA titles. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Reapercussions
vault_overseer
DNF scans and multiplayer details: +) 4 gameplay modes: Dukematch, Team Dukematch, Capture the Babe and Hail to the King (King of the Hill mode). Dukes on other teams will have either red or blue shirts. +) 8 player max, 4 vs 4 teams only +) In 'Capture the Babe' when you grab the other teams babe sometimes she'll start to freak out as you take her back to your base, so you have to give her a gentle smack to quiet her down +) 10 maps at launch, maps include; remade Dukeburger where all Dukes are miniature running around a giant world, 'Morning Wood' old west town, Vegas Casinos, etc. +) Jetpack only shows up in some multiplayer maps, isn't in single player +) Holoduke will be just like Duke 3D, but this time around the player becomes cloaked, allowing for sneak melee kills +) Steriods allow Duke to do one hit kill punches, also allows for faster run speeds, cannot use weapons, not sure if their immune to Shrinker anymore like in Duke 3D. +) When shrunk by the Shrinker, the mini-Duke can still use weapons, but they only do 10% of the normal damage +) You can plant trip bombs on players and enemies +) Confirmed weapons; pistol, shotgun, ripper chaingun, pipebomb, rpg, shrinker, railgun, freezer, devestator, tripbomb. Can only use 2 primary weapons at once along with pipebombs and tripbombs. +) As you kill other players you gain experience points, which, when acquiring enough of them, you can spend the points on customizing your Duke. Basic kills get basic points, but specialty one time achievement kills like killing someone when using the holoduke or funny kills like killing yourself with the pipebomb by accident, gives you bonus points. Raithe
Hm, so THQ has confirmed Saints Row: The Third should be coming out holiday 2011... and with the promise of the most "outlandish gameplay scenarios ever seen"... Throw in the odd swipe at the GTA series with "There's no delivering pizza, no shuttling family members about in a long series of taxi missions." That could be interesting.. Personally I found Saints Row 2 a hellava lot more fun then GTA IV.. but I'm weird like that. "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum." Monte Carlo
I resent the suggestion that delivering pizza is in anyway a mundane task within an escapist videogame environment.
