What are you playing right now?

I think ammo in Prey is only limited if you can't stop yourself from shooting at everything all the time. :>

And you miss most of the shots.

But with the talents tree permitting the gift of your character's powers, wouldn't it indicate that ranged weaponry is irrelevant anyway? At least that's how I dispatch enemies, combining powers with melee as my build was made for silence and strategy but as far people who play this game as a casual fps (which is what the game was desinged to be in the first place), ammo should never be a problem whther you aren't necessarily good at aiming or you want to go more direct and guns blazinf than stealth. I mean, it's not like it's a survival game where there's a purpose in every bullet so the "git gud" excuse doesn't particularly excuse some of the poorer design choices the game possesses.

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest.

Begone! Lest I draw my nail...

If you go for the powers then yeah, pretty much every weapon is irrelevant as you will become a god among aliens. Why you know that big Alien that chases you and scares you? A couple of maxed out offensive powers and I was giddy to see it, cause it meant more resources...Pretty much I played the game as a complete psycho that treated everything as a resource.

I feel like I'm missing something crucial in Vampyr.  I'm pretty much near the end-game, and yet a lot of the NPCs have "hints" that I haven't found out about yet, and have no clue where to even go about learning that info (obviously besides Googling it online).

Prey?

Pffft, come on now, I was just about to install black ops 3. Never played the MP so I guess I'll give it a go. I would install Titanfall 2 instead but at this point I am pretty sure the MP portion of the game is either dead or close to it.

EDIT: ahhh, screw all three of them, I am as high as a kite right now so I'll just play Virginia instead.

Started another game of Dark Souls. This time I am trying to go with walkthroughs for all NPC quests/interactions and without Master Key and with INT/Faith build. In first day, Asylum Demon, Taurus Demon, Bell Gargoyles and Capra Demon down. I die much less than in my first game, but yeah, still far away from Let's Play videos :D Bell Gargoyles were piss easy when you can talk with NPCs. You can summon two of them, which could easily take care of the boss, even if you just sit at the entrance and watch them fight. Capra Demon was a bitch as always, but no rage quit this time :D

The most challenging part of the run was the first encounter with Patches in the Catacombs right after Capra Demon, before talking to Rhea of Thorolund. The is no available divine weapon at that time, so you have to do suicide run against the first Undead Mage (and kill him) to be able to move forward. The next three of them, can be taken care of with ranged combat, so it gets little bit easier, but you have to consult map all the time, if you do not know where they are located. Still this place has killed me yesterday most of the time, but I was able to access also smith Vamos and Gravelord Servant Covenant, and join it.

Next in line The Depths and farming 7 more Eye of Death from basilisk, and upgrade the covenant to level 2 for a miracle required for one trophy. Then the Gaping Dragon.

Completed the 3rd playthrough of PoEII. Trying not to start the 4th before the DLC (the game is absolutely amazing, but requires about 70 hours per full PT).

Playing Divinity: Original Sin II. I can feel it being made with multiplayer mode in mind and every bit of it is uncomfortable. Why there is no pause button? Why is it 3D? Why there are piles of useless loot? Why *spoilers* die?

The ship and the soundtrack are nice, though.

Edit. Uninstalled DOSII. Shouldn't have purchased it before finishing the first game (which isn't going to happen).

Gave up (yet again) on TTON. Game needs a line editor. I'm a prolific reader and usually I wouldn't see as many adjectives as TTON uses in its opening sequence in the entirety of a full novel. And yes, I judge it like a novel because it is an interactive novel.

Continuing my playthrough of Hollow Knight (Switch) and about 23 hours into it.  Still loving it quite dearly.  I'm right before the final boss finally so I can see my actual percentage when resting now and am told I'm at 82% which I felt to be a good start before really scouring the maps, doing the colliseum, mini-bosses, etc.

Started a playthrough of Skyrim (Switch) and have finally gone stealth archer, which I actually have never played before and am at level 18 right now after about 10 hours.  Have never completed the game before so I decided this would be the time lol,  we'll see.

Started a new account in Warframe since it's been a couple years since I last played and they're not the easiest to let you reset your account from what I gather, and I wanted to start over.  Only a couple hours in, but enjoying it so far, sooooo many mechanics lol

Bought Ghost Recon Wildlands for cheap and... it looks really cool. The missions, though... they all look exactly the same. I'm just in the second province, but feeling like I've seen it all already. You get close to an outpost or a base, you mark all enemies with your drone, then you sync-shoot them until you are either done or alarm goes off, in which case you just mow down everything easily. If you're not doing this, then you collect resource points for unlocking skills and bonus stuff.

Only bought it because people compared it to MGS5, which kinda is true in a way. Big open world, outposts, stuff to shoot... but MGS5 does everything just so much better even though it also repeats mission types over and over again. Maybe it's the general gameplay that feels just so much better in MGS5. The way you move around, the aiming, etc... it's all a lot smoother. No idea (yet).

I will say after playing it solo and multiplayer, mp is where the true fun and difficulty is. I played with a friend so we only had just the two of us and we need to coordinate through ourselves to sync up shots. As compared to MP, solo is a breeze once you’re able to have all three squad mates sync shots.

Even though you've played the game before, you're probably going to need the wiki quite a bit, as a lot has probably changed in those couple years.  I've been playing for 50+ hours and I still use the wiki all the time and still don't know how half the stuff works.  :p

Yeah, the game is obviously made with multiplayer in mind. It's underlined even more with the party ai in singleplayer being dumb as a brick. Hell, they were so lazy about it, enemy ai is completely ignoring them, which leads to scenes like this:

Their aiming is pretty crappy most of the time as well. So you have the choice of 3-hit-sync cheat killing enemies, or them fake-shooting each other for show. It's just depressing.

WftO:

Tried to figure out the Prophecy memory leak I have. Using it does increase RAM but the main issue is that it triggers a memory leak so even if you stop using the spell and just do nothing at all, RAM climbs and climbs until it crashes. If map is already exposed, it doesn't occur. If game is windowed in lower resolution, it happens slower. If I put the game on the non-primary monitor (my 4k tv) it happens slower. If I never use the spell at all, RAM usage stays fairly rock-solid. Ah well whatever. Note: because I have 24RAM, I don't have to exit game entirely - going to main menu releases most of the used RAM/can reload from there instead.

Gameplay notes:

--I like that # of attracted creatures seems to depend on how much room furniture a room has. No more 25 warlocks because you have 1 library tile. On the other hand, that means if you want 10 of a creature type, better have room for giant rooms or a lot of 3x3 rooms.

--Arena training seems to only apply to the "beasts" (separate room/lair type, doesn't work, no pay/no food req), not regular minions. So training room and combat plus some spells/potions only for any creatures with "jobs."

--Pet dungeons can be "won" (to unlock others) just by waiting for a couple hours. They have challenge/requirements that can be excessively annoying if you dislike the maps challenge/just want to move on. I was highly irritated until I realized 2hrs=win, as well.

--example: I'm on the 4th pet dungeon which is the worst in terms of actual sandbox-freedom (no portals, gain most creatures by freeing them from hero prisons around the map etc) so I'm letting it run on my other monitor while I'm typing this post. :p

--If you liked DK2's "Liberty" Pet Dungeon the most, WftO's 3rd, called Justice, is very similar (Deepwater isn't too bad either for sandbox-ing)

Creatures attracted per room feature was in DK2 as well, for most creatures. 1 warlock per bookcase, 1 troll per anvil, 2 dark angels per 5x5 temple. The rogue was especially annoying, since more than 1 rogue was useless and he was attracted by the casino, which you generally built big because every creature wanted to use it.

Ah. Guess I forgot about that, lol. I do remember Vampires needing a lot of caskets but I didn't pay much attention to other rooms. I think I didn't find Rogues too useless but they were annoying because they wandered so much.

I suppose I should play at least a few of the campaign levels of WftO since I figure it'd give a better rundown of combat. But just designing dungeons is what I liked most of DK2. For combat I still much preferred DK1. Some of the Deeper Dungeons levels were the best, like that one where you only have 2 Dark Mistresses for a long time.

Vampires were 1 per tombstone+1 I believe. Rogues were good scouts because of their 100% invisibility, but offered nothing else and often aggro when wandering, so I found them a hassle. :p

I didn't get very far in the campaign of WftO, like you I found it lacking in charm and also the weird talent system was needlessly complex (but not deep). Do you think the pet dungeon DLC adds enough of the DK2 my pet dungeon mode feel to justify a purchase? I already own the base game.

And today, I have continued with my Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition on PS3. I have followed my own all NPC quest and interaction and followed into The Depths. The main goal was to get all items and enough Eyes of Dead drops, to be able to upgrade Gravelord Covenant to level 2 to get one more Miracle required for the Trophy. When I had enough, I have also farmed few more humanities, because, there is encounter with first Black Phantom NPC, which can drop nice sword and shield, and Humanity boosts it's droprate. Not enough of boost for me, it did not drop :( I will have two more chances to get them. I have to fight him in off-line mode, because as soon as I have turned into Human, I got invaded by some clown, who killed me before I found the NPC.

Right after that, I have killed the area boss Gaping Dragon, and went back to The Catacombs, for covenant Miracle. As soon as I had it, I abandoned it through the NPC and then went forward to Darkroot Garden to kill the Moonlight Butterfly. I used an NPC summon, which made the fight easy as pie. After that, I have joined Forest Hunter Covenant for the chance to get the Ring of Fog. I have spent about hour or two leeching PvP, because most of the guys there were PvP builds at Soul Level 125, so my only chance to get the kill, was to be matched with another PvP maniac. My Soul Level was 30 at the time. But now I am the happy owner of shiny Ring of Fog, which will be tremendous help for the Blighttown and Anor Londo. And around 40k souls from winning the three matches required for the ring, which were promptly used to upgrade my Pyromancy Flame to +10 and buying of ring to boost my spell damage.

I made few attempts against Sif, but being to late, I was to tired to do any proper attempt, so after few deaths, I have decided to go to the bed, and play more Souls tomorrow or later, depending on my work schedule.

@True Neutral - PD maps 1 and 3 are definitely DK2 like. The others so far have the feel as well, I just feel like some aren't as sandbox because map designs but then again I keep playing them so.. :)

The challenges or occasional restriction on a map is for Steam Achievements I guess, or if you just like such extra stuff to focus on.

On sale feel like the PD dlc is worth it. DK2 also had PD maps I didn't like so not really different in that regard.

That's because the game was "done" with the first chapter. The second chapter is just "bonus" content. I guess they shouldn't have called it chapter 1 and 2 in the first place. Better would have been "story" and "epilog" or something like that... At least it wouldn't have confused players so much.

There is very little mission variety, and 95% of the game plays exactly as you described. Either crank up the difficulty to remove the hud etc. to make it require some awareness and tactics, or adjust your mindset to accept that it's really a GTA clone with a military shooter paintjob set in a jungle environment.

I had tons of fun with it, but I played it from start to finish in coop.
