  1. To be hoenst with you, Darth Roxor is an obvious troll who was bashing PoE even before the game came out. However, I'll admit that there is A LOT I agree with in his review. I hope Obsidian takes some notes from this review for PoE2.
  2. Um, pretty sure Unreal 4 is open source. That's how the community was able to port it to linux because epic had a chance to do it.
  3. Good luck. If you knew anything about programming, you would know that unity is a closed source.
  4. I found the game pretty challenging on normal. Mind you, I'm not a casual; I finished BG2 many times and I finished some of the most difficult games out there (Fzero GX, battletoads, etc.). Perhaps I have a different definition of what's hard than some of the other people here.
  5. Yep, me too. Maybe massively improving the AI and add in hard counters may help but whatever the solution, the combat in PoE is no where near as interesting and challenging as BG2. One of my favorite type of battles in BG2 was fighting enemy mages. Your whole party would be wiped out if you just tried to damage with melee and magic. You had to strip the mage of their multiple layers of defenses. Then at various stages in the battle, you would get surprised by something (maybe a contingency spell would be triggered or the mage would summon something right next to your casters), forcing to you to change tactics ASAP to win the battle. I rather not have that kind of BS in PoE.
  6. They're fine. It's just one person (Longknife) who hates the for arbitrary reasons based on a few number differences.
  7. Wow, you're still butthurt that other people don't think fighters are the best tank in the game? No need to take your anger our on Paladins, who are excellent support tank hybrid class.
  8. Despite the dry tone of the game, I think Eder has to be one of the funniest characters I've seen in a RPG.
  9. I rather have a paladin with a godawful statspread that still functions well as a awesome tank than a mediocre damage dealer with a crappy pet to manage. On topic, I don't hate any of the companions. Surprising the companions actually have a lot to say in this game and all of their story fit well into the plot even though they have no tides to the critical story path (other than Aloth and his connection to a "certain" group.).
  10. Make it so you can reach the rest screen by the stronghold menu. Shouldn't be hard to program in it would just require a simple function call.
  11. Chris said that he isn't going to use that character anymore, but there is one character he created in this game that gives me a Ravel vibe.
  12. It's no surprise that Grieving Mother and Durance are on a level on their own. I'm really hoping Chris Avellone gets to be the lead in another project again someday. I'm still a a bit dissapointed that there are only 8 companions, but nevertheless, I enjoyed all the companions and I really hope they'll be more day (maybe in the expansion?)
  13. Hey, both games are awesome. Lets just leave it at that. :D
  14. I hope they stick with Unity. Version 4 does have some performance problems, but version 5 improves on performance. Also, it's a engine that's has multiplatform support, us it allows us Linux users to enjoy Obsidian games. A new engine would take too much time and money to create.
  15. I think it does unless you have some setting enabled My steam is still offline, so I'm still using the old patch.
  16. He's currently my main tank at higher levels thanks to his initial stats and the talents I picked, while my main priest is a melee damage dealer. I seriously think priest are underrated when it comes to melee roles.
  17. NWN2 crossroad keep was a lot better. I'll even say that BG2's de'Arnise Keep is better as well since it feels a bit more immersive. I really hope they can improve the stronghold in later patches, because right now it isn't that interesting.
  18. If you cave in to these SJW and remove it, then that dude better get his money back.
  19. I personally think they do if they're important to the plot.
  20. As a guy who's been on Gfaqs for over 12 years now, I can tell you that Gamefaqs users are mostly interested consoles games(mainly JRPGs), MMOs, and dota style games.
  21. Your'e opinion basically. I thought the game was very funny in a lot of place, and I thought the game's story was a breath of fresh air compared to all the edgy and depressing super serious RPGs we've been getting lately.
  22. Kotaku reviews are rated this way: "Should you play this? Yes, Not Yet, or No" And that's the only good thing about that site.
  23. Well this forum should be free of spoilers. That's if the mods actually do their job. =\
  24. They don't look alike at all. Seems like another RPGcodex scheme to rile things up around here.
