  1. Hmmm, kind of. Gandalf is definitely a paladin-like character, a representative of a divine power wielding a shiny sword. Funny how that works, eh? It'd be quite fun to stat him up in our system. Something like Conjurer (not of cheap tricks!) - 4, Fighter - 2, Medicus - 3... And yet he represents the visual image of a wizard archetype. Heh. He is not human at all, he and other istari just took appearances of elderly men. But that was remarkable observation. Gandalf and other istari are from "beyond" sendt out as representativs and guardians. They are lesser Vala or lesser Maia, like Sauron, wich make their powers divine in nature. Never thought it that way, just magics is magics. Gandalf, whn he was resurrected by Eru and became Gandalf the White, is more of a leader, Paladin figure, than he was a wizard. Funny indeed.
  2. chainmail bikins...unless we are in a brothel...it is your money, your fantasies, knock yourself out.
  3. I like to think that in PE magic is equivalent of science or might be considered as such, maybe those two are overlaping in a sense. Magic is just something that works in ways we can not fully comprehend, yet we can anticipate results. As for lines from BG2, the party just might have been affected by confusion spell. Doesnt necessary need to be magical drug :D
  4. There is more issues with this, Paladin is a fighter with a title, yes. I would rather that we have opportunity to earn those titles. If we start game as paladin class, than we have to have entire backstory for that. How did we become paladins in first place? Will PE reflect on that, will every class have different starting positions and stories? What is difference betwean fighter and paladin, one prays to God and serves some order while fighter might do the same, yet is not paladin. So an Church/Temple/Order we have to pick from the start and our backstory and to call ourself paladins we have to officially serve that particular order?
  5. Variation in appearances sounds good. Time to remove clone armies. I think issue would not be beast races, such as gnolls, as they seem to be quite retarted in many settings and use crude weapons and materials they salvaged. Even such beasts and orcs, goblins have love for gold etc. Also we can always salvage materials we find. Variations shouldnt be an issue, having few different sets and randomize them. I can clear entire area, but many times cant return for materials to sell. There is just so much one can carry. I thought it might be good idea to gather stuff of killed enemies, kind of "burry or hide". Than have send NPC's to salvage area, for a fee, orr pay them to bring us materials back. Depending on what we find. If we choose to have a Stronghold, well it needs maintenance. Killing hundred enemies in one area and leaving all that material behind, seems like such a waste! Just think how much time it takes to make ONE breastpale or sword. So we just take with us best items ofcourse. Yet we leave stuff enough to equip entire army.
  6. More of the artwork, that of characters and the world. Maybe preview of how some animations should work out, combat and spells. Art direction is very important to me, I just might be that shalow, but yes it is very important. Some threads others have posted, considering armor, weapons etc indicate that many other players feel the same way. So some preview on general art direction.
  7. This and... ...this...Thank you both for making sense. Devs add option section, those who still belive it is disturbing their playstyle, switch it on/off, simple, so evryone's gaming is satisfied. Just becouse some of you dont approve of such addition, why should others have to be without?
  8. well...you can incinerate, disintegrate, but those are temporary highs (you gotta love effects!)...petrify is simply less permanent and you just might need them again...see its not that cruel. I am not sure i like idea Tauron being someone's companion, he is way to great to share glory...solo all the way if game mechanics is not forcing to have someone at the time. btw, yes memorable companions is good...I dont want to be restricted in how and whn, getting rid of annoying companions after they have outwelcomed their usefullness. There are few games and even very good games that forces you, becouse they force you to have companions. they might be part of main story etc This is not the case with PE, devs have so said. You have some companions whom you can share advantures with and interact in some way if that is your preferance, if you think it adds to your immersion. They will have their personalities, problems, maybe side quests..if you are player who is companion "pleaser" yes, go ahead, knock yourself out even after it doesnt make sense why they behave way they do, stupid scripted conversations where for no reason you loose "influence" points after really putting effort into it and being punished becouse you and devs have different opinions on lets say morality and ethics...well after DAO, I say screw that. If I need some idiot like Alistair and than dispose of him and say he died heroes death, would be so rewarding. Yet we dont, until game says whn we can kill him. I and countless others dont like that. That is why I like memorable feature from BG, kill your companions, kill them even in sight of other companions an say uh ops, i mis spelled that spell, oh my...so dont like dont need Xar, go send him to his death, need Minsc, no love for Dynaheir, do the same. It is memorable becouse you can imagine just how you disposed of them hehe. What is not to like? It is a dot above the ı that makes i. It looks cool in my minds eye, pigeons are lacking in the game :D but It is not like I am forcing them to do their thing on the statue...its lame cliche...pigeons and statues, bird poop. It is nature i guess...i saw that on discovery channel so it has to be true
  9. just googled it...no...yes for Soul Forge blacksmith of souls just doesnt have the same appeal, but what do i know, english is not my native tongue...Smith of Souls :/ dun know...
  10. make companions killable...that is one memorable feature from the BG tutu that I enjoyed, for ooh every time i played it. Petrify insolent ones and come back watching the pigeons **** on them! hehehe
  11. It does look interesting, I am not fan of the art direction, but modders might swarm this one eventually. I like what i hear about magic system, hope they will continue to evolve it. Wont pledge but will buy the game after awhile...just in case. Bugs and such.
  12. Hope they put some time in adding some different animations for casters. BG was nice but i would like bit more diversity. Also finishing moves are not that bad, that would be nice to see from time to time. If people think that some of the "extra" animation like finishing moves, parry, dodge and other movments that add to illusion of more "realistic" or immersion, than having an OPTION button for it to disable would be great thank you. Instead of replys like : no, its lame..go play skyrim or DAO infidel...having OPTION for these visual effects would be appreciated.
  13. have no clue, but in my mind i heared Soul Forge...it has something with souls and where do we come or go and how do we be..are souls that get bodies or bodies that get souls (yes i have subscribed to such fb pages)
  14. uh this one again... I would LOVE to see finishing moves animation. Ocasionally see enemy burning nd twisting in pain or exploding, petrified, decapatated arms and limbs. Best to make these animations available in options to switch on and off. While it is sweet eye candy there be haters around..so havng options would suit evryones playstyle.
  15. Powerhungry! Obviously hunt for spells and magic that will advance further quest for immortality and bend the very fabric of reality, etc etc...I intend to quest alone first time, using those only as it fits my character. I just hope they dont ruin "evil" ending...he did regin supreme, but alone and bla bla..NO, HE BECAME GOD AND WAS BEYOND AWSOME FOREVER! Now thats for the ending...I usally find evil ending depressing. So I hope they make good one :D it is all about the fun
  16. abominations, abominations all them. Failed experiments or god had sex with a donkey and behold unicorn, yes. I have to agree that even if intelligent, such creature should not be member of a species, but either an accident sort of. If it has offspring, give us ability to kill it :D
  17. whats up with thrid eye tattoo on his stomach? old man looks okej...have faith that we will find more appropriate outfit for him ingame.
  18. Have to say, when I read of Black Prince in his namesake black armor, I was thinking a lot less rainbow like appearance. Black plate armour looks truly amazing, I wish we could use it in PE. Case in point : Now that is just nothing short of epic!
  19. I am mostly used to Tolkien elves as evryone else, but taking inspiration from so many mythologies, elves are sometimes described as tricksters. Just as there are different races of humans, add different elvf races, but not just traditionally wood elf and high elves kind, but more like "god like" species. Maybe whom first elves come from. Than you could have elven species, those that mostly resemble humans and some other like that elf from Harry Potter.
  20. I like vampires as abominations, as they always were, sure victorian era romantiscised them abit, gentlemen killer, but still an abomination. There will always be someone more afraid of death and wanting to be vampire. Or what better way to curse good soul by condeming them to such life. So yes, have vampire in, just not playable character.
  21. Depends how channelig of magic will work in PE world. If magic energy is influenced from lets say tai chi, martial arts, than we would see some movments like from Avatar. But I would like it to be more subtle movements and less flashy. Something like in Baldurs Gate series, but i would like to see different animations for different schools of magic as for voice component if they choose to have it that way. In Wheel of Time series, Aes Sedai channel magic or as it says in books, weave magical energy (saidar, saidin) without neccessery use of hand movment. But many use hands whn they weave, becouse it is much easier to channel energies and visualise etc etc. Really good channelers like fallen ones, ancient aes sedai in books can do it without hand motions. Yet it seems something instinctive that body motion is more intense depending on characters emotional state, so even fallen ones tend to weave and use their hands to better direct weaving whn distressed. I hope they stick to BG formula, just they add slightly more motions, especially if in sync with voice component. Maybe later we can develop character to be channeler or something else, so he/she uses less motion or voice components whn casting spells or just gets some extra bonus orr uses less mana.
  22. hmmm, if there will be half elves, and elves are generally these ancient human like beings and they can breed with humans, could PE have it's own classification of species and races. Would that mean that humans are devolved (evolved) elfs? Would dwarfs just be another type of short elfs, just like some humans have "pygme" gene. It is interesting.
  23. From what I've red, there will be multiple cultures of pretty much every race, so we can't really say now. There will, however, be a state (forgot the name) where humans and elves live together and have the same culture. Hmmm, interesting. Sounds like something from Arcanum.
  24. Just realised that I dont have one particular, but mix of all mentioned. I do like good dungeon or cave and I like good diversity of some mentioned above in my games. Hope in our journeys we will experience several climates and different type of dungeons.
