I Dream of Eternity
Tauron replied to phimseto's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Wouldnt be first time i have dreamt about the game...BG memories start flooding whn I was in college. Weed and gaming does that to you hahah -
In my mind she is seasoned adventurer...most probably she has the money to have custom breastplate made. EDIT: It would be fun if you enetera town and see blacksmith and he acually says that for a decent fee, he will refit plate, chain. scale or whatever armor PC or companions are wearing. MAybe even custom made one. So you acually get some sort of non magical bonus for wearing it. Character gets improved movment and speed, or you loose penalty for wearing something that isnt meant for you. So, I m not hating the picture, just as long this isnt your typical female mass produced breastplate.

Ah, nice...an a s shole class. Get them all killed without using your most powerfull weapon of mass distraction...farts. I like how you think. A mage class if I didnt said it before. An adventurer class, no reall advantages, but neither disandvantages...although people seem to like idea of subclasses or specialisations, so have those in. A fighter, heavy armor type. I really liked Witcher "class". It was like medieval jedi. So something like that would be cool. Or armored juggernaut with two handed. Hedge knight in search of fame, battle for title, position at some court, carving a anem for himself and such. Or Blackguard sort of class, antiPaladin. But all these fall in subclass category.

I really enjoyed spell effects in BG series,(better than IWD) one of reasons I played as a mage, it also felt more dynamic and spells were awsome, even low lvl...like a promise of power, taste of what is to come. Oh good times. Good times indeed. I hope they add nice effects. If they add school of transmutation, I hope they will make morph effects than just a flash and you are a big bad monster, or a combination of two.

What would make you pledge more?
Tauron replied to Ilrahan's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I think I will upgrade my pledge to 140$, beta access got me most intrigued + all other stuff, it is just that I feel cheap now until next salary and than there is all this Obsidian Order thingie. -
States of being
Tauron replied to maggotheart's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
No for PC, maybe having a companion that is in such a state yes or quest line or having it in lore and world itself. But no vampire / were fantasy for PC just yet.(unless we talk about transmutating magics that mage posesses..yes..but no permaeffects of vampirisim or werethingies) For you desperate for blood and howling...rejoice, World of Darkness is upon us! So check their forums to quench your thirst for blood. But hopefully no vampirisim yet in PE, unless we kill it. -
Finishing Moves
Tauron replied to Boretti's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Having a finishing move, nice animation on a critical hit would be fun from time to time. Block, parry, dodge have those in too from time to time. As long they appear fluid and doesnt break gameplay, no cinematics etc. Having mage finishing moves would be very fun to watch enemies panick as engulfed in flames, electrecuted, desintegration, etc. I dont understand such hate for there animations as they are usually promoted as optional. Have in game option - video - turn off/on combat animations, blood-gore etc, evryone should be happy. -
I am not into the music, but first and second songs I liked. Should be in the game, whn you enter Tavern and the second, ship or dockyard ofcourse. It's cool that people got inspired by this project. Spread the love, keep them coming.

Dialog, best seen and not heard?
Tauron replied to Bhazor's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
There was similar thread about this i belive. I am for voice, not full, but like we had in BG2. Start of dialogue maybe, to give us the feeling of the character. -
[Merged] Durability
Tauron replied to Audron's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
My first thought was yes, but people have some good arguments against it and it makes more sense not to have it. At least in manner that was done up to now. Unless they have some new system, less tedious whn you manage party of 6, than yes. -
Ehh I hope PE avoids too many animals/humanisk/hybrid creatures that are acually a fullfledged intelligent species. Minotaurs, Centaurs, were-things, Ogres etc are in traditional setting more of abominations, cursed creature monster, failed magic experiment or as from original mythology gods had sex in animal form with another creature and voila, you have abomination. Too weird to live and too rare to die. I hope they stick to that formula. If they add village of minotaurs milking cows, than PLEASE give us option to kill them all. Minotaur skin makes good boots and cenataur hooves are for good luck!

Or, it could be a situation like in feudal Japan where it was considered unclean to handle a corpse and if you do it in public you've marked yourself as a member of the unclean underclass (or an unclean foreigner) so people will treat you like dirt. Or, maybe if you demonstrate skill in picking locks, the local constabulary will be highly suspicious of you as a potential criminal. Or, if you're fastidious about cleanliness, the Inquisition will think you're a Jew. There are a lot of these things you can do without falling back on some "Magik R Evul" trope. yes indeed

Tauron replied to draft1983's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
It doesnt have to be full voiced at all. Just start of dialogue, so you get the "vibe" sort of. -
Magic is most obvious exampel. But it can be much more. Having feuding religions ( feuds between gods as you said) I would also love to see better legal system that deals with rogues/thiefs. Maybe there are regions where autorites will ask you to remove all weapons while present, etc. It is beyond magics. Me too, good exemple btw! It is nothing new, but I would like it to be implemented with more sense, as it should be more belivable. Bloodbending acually made a lot of sense and fighting enemies much more easier than manipulating water way they did. Why all that fancy swinging and what not whn you can make your enemies brains pop with little to no effort. I enjoyed the show, but targeted audiance were kids and teens. Makes you think how would it progress if it had more mature rating. I am not envying devs, they have to add meaningfull complexity to world and than make gameplay that fits that lore. Not easy at all, but would love to see them try and make it right or at least make it better than previous games.

I was following Tropes vs Woman thread for a while, topic kinda derailed to witch hunting trials in middle ages, and all that it may imply. I hope title is not misleading as Sawyer mentioned a thread just for that derail...this is not exactly what he had in mind, but does touch subject of "wich-huntin" It was already talked about some of taboo subjects that players would like to experience in game or have game reflect on subjects of sexualism, lvl of depicted violence etc. But I was thinking to have more mundane aproach to it. Something skill based, that PC can learn and actively use which is disliked beyond frowned upon. Forbbiden, depending on a region in the world, you might be attacked on sight, if seen performing these 'unsanctioned' activities. Obviously magic comes to mind, or some forbbiden school of magic. But it has to be usefull, powerfull, worth the effort as risk of persuing it should also reflect that. It doesnt just have to be magic. There was mention of witch hunters, mage hunters. If there is mage faction, town or territory controled by mages, they might frown on use of guns, as it was mentioned they work well against some magical defences. So, would you like to see something like this in PE? What exact aproach and how complex would you like it to see it in game? Edit: (sorry for my bad english and at times loss of coherent thought in writing, it is not my strong side)

Tropes vs Women
Tauron replied to Qorem's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
It wouldnt suprise me that first chauvinist, was a guy with broken heart. That became more convincing watching videos of that feminist character. Some women just do that to you. The Dark Side is strong with them that way. Interesting thread, but is there any "conclusion" to it? Can something prodoctive come out of it? -

32 Baldurs Gate, first true RPG love -
Not a game character but anyone that likes Game of Thrones? If you do, than Little Finger is one you love to hate, especially if you have read last books.
