  1. Food, drink and sleep was great in New Vegas but that was with one character. Project Eternity we would have to deal with multiple characters who may or may not get hungry/thirsty/tired at the same time due to varying race types. It would involve far too much micromanagement to make it enjoyable in any way. In general I say no, but as an additional optional game mode I would have no reason to say no.
  2. Crazy within reason I hope, personally I would rather not find the Tardis during an encounter.
  3. Professional narration with excellent concept art works just fine for me. Last thing I want is full voice acting and CGI scenes, Project Eternity is meant to herald back to the classics and the above video is an example of what that is.
  4. You have no shortage of inspiration to draw upon Justin, so many classic games with great tracks. I like the song from the kickstarter, reminded me of Icewind Dale, specifically Kuldahar. If the rest of the soundtrack follows that style, then you can not go wrong Justin!
  5. A little beastly, I want ratmen and large vicious beastmen. I do not want them to be too outlandish, often the race just ends up seeming more comical than anything.
  6. The details are too vague to be negative about it in my books. What we could have is a Crossroads Keep home, or a Warden's Keep type home, or a Hearthfire type home. Obsidian have done a good job of player homes in the past, I am optimistic about this one.
  7. TrashMan is quite right, go read the Silmarillion, Elves are hardy, strong willed, passionate. Essentially humans plus. So long as the Eternity elves are not short, long eared mopey tree loving pansy's I will be happy. I really want is strong willed, superior, wrathful elves, too many fantasy settings they have no backbone. Not that I will be playing one, plain old human for me. :D
  8. I think it should depend on culture and what attire that culture finds acceptable. I do not expect a stone age culture magic users to walk around in finely woven robes, or advanced cultures walking around in animal skins.
  9. Eternity - A New Hope Once they do that they can make the prequels, where we can then crucify them for destroying what we all hold dear. Joking aside, I want to see what Obsidian have on their short list.
  10. I would like something different. Each companion should have a class, but our main character not, at least at first. I want our class to be determined by our actions in the game and the traits/skills we earn or invest in, so slowly we become a mage or warrior. Dual classing could be taken into account from the start, I will say the last thing I want is a D&D clone with the same classes (Apart from traditional archetypes) and system. As for what kind of classes, all the basics, mage, warrior, rogue ranger, bard. Then more advanced specializations which are unique to the game setting, seems we know little about the setting their is not much to say about what those could be.
  11. I have no interest in romances, but I trust Obsidian to do what is right for the game and their fans, be it that they include romance or not.
  12. I think the idea is needlessly convoluted. What I do hope is that Project Eternity will have more than just a single skill check or lockpick item use to open chests and doors. I like it when a mini-game is made of the lock mechanism.
  13. All are good, which is best depends on the kind of story, game mechanics and setting.
  14. You've forgotten to add the last part of your sentence: "......to me." I was not talking on anyone else's behalf, after all the original post was only asking "what others think about it."
  15. Armour requiring fitting before you can wear it would not be a very enjoyable mechanic. Get some gloves travel to town, pay gold for fitting, then obtain armour, leave town, find boots, return to town, get them fitted... and so on and so on. It would be exceptionally repetitive, especially since you have six or seven armour parts on a person (Going by classic games), with six or so companions. In many ways it is the repetitive nature that is not liked in the identifying items process or the item durability mechanic. I am open to any of these mechanics, so long as they are not repetitive and are enjoyable to do, which unfortunately they rarely ever are.
  16. I would prefer not to have a tutorial spoiling the immersion of the early part of the game. We only have tutorials these days because people are too lazy to read a few pages of text in order to know how to play the game. To me a manual would be fine, just like the good old days.
  17. At the original post; How true of so many roleplaying games these days, kinda makes me sad.
  18. It is hard to pick, but I would say ` ´ is my favourite, these songs really set right mood for me in regards to this whole project. Subscribed. Obsidian if you are reading this, please add an npc to one of the taverns called Armand the bard!
  19. I am amazed you actually managed to do that Armand, you really are a Bard!
  20. Map notes are useless.
  21. Yes, Obsidian always codename their projects. What would be great is if all the names Obsidian have selected as likely candidates were place in a poll and they let their community pick the one they vote the best. As Obsidian plans this to be a franchise I hope is each game will have a suffix, not just Eternity I, Eternity II, Eternity III. As in `Eternity - Soul Eater´ `Eternity - White March´ and so on, also just so you know they are not suggestions just examples of what I mean.
  22. I never had a problem with his writing though the books were only average, the novel I dislike was written by William C. Dietz. Even Bioware fans hate that book.
  23. Space? not exactly in keeping with the High Fantasy theme, is it Failion? What I want to see is a homage to Icewind Dale, a region that is a frozen landscape where tough people live off the wild dangerous land in small communities. Actually to hell with what I want to see, I am off to play it again!
  24. All you have to do Mr Avellone is take all the factors that make Mass Effect: Deception what it is and do the absolute opposite, then you can not fail. Joking aside, the last novella's I read for a computer game that I really enjoyed was also the first, The Lords of Midnight trilogy, I still read them to this day. It will be good to see such a concept employed with this game, I hope it is released just before the game goes live.
