  1. this is not even worthy of a post, at least not here, maybe on some women rights board if thats where you're going with this political agendas through video games...wtf
  2. well the thing is, they are out right saying it, 'We created these 'Gods' so there is no 'what if' in this world - thats probably the most black and white idea in this game. And he (Thaos) really starts hitting the nail on the head, when he shows the nature of humanity - all the violence and lawlessness. It was the fear of their actions in the next life that controlled man. This is what man needs to keep himself in check, a higher authority, to stop him from murdering his neighbor. Seems true both in the game and real world ha
  3. mmm, I dunno, I've never been into my companions like that - so long as they have good stats I dont care if I they are integral or not. Amazing to me to see people comparing these chars to ones from games 15 yrs back, I barely remember playing the games, let alone the names of the companions
  4. There were a lot of grey scenarios but the baby one I drew the line at. Doing it was the 'right' (most exp) thing to do, but, F that! Simply wasnt gonna do it. Instead I got labelled a 'takes a baby into the most dangerous place in all the lands' as my legacy
  5. Most people cant even grasp modern english, much less reading ole english prose, in a video game, from a book, on a random shelf, in a dungeon, when you were supposed to be finding out about the Hollowborn. Think of the kids dude!
  6. somewhere around level 4/starting Act II is when I start noticing it - my F5s, they start taking longer and longer to respond
  7. I didnt pick Hylea because I did Derrin's quest. If ever there was someone I'd want to see/hear about in the credits it'd be this kid, poor guy
  8. finish the game and tell me your decisions dont have consequences, you get an entire laundry list of all the stuff you personally did to the lands during your stay there, looks like I made a serious impact
  9. If you convince Aloth to put that thing inside him in check, then he learns to be independent, think for himself and thus goes after the leaden key. If you convice Aloth to let it continue to act as his shield when in danger, he then becomes less independent and takes the role of the Leader. Disabling the machine in HH is simply overriding it - thus destroying. Got a bad ending for that as it doesnt make sense to me to destroy that which you dont understand, but I went with it anyway even after seeing you get extraordinary rep for its destruction and only major for its shutdown
  10. Whats more odd is that you get an alternate quest if you dont have Pall in your group, which drops some unique items. The second you put Pall in, back to that corny trade route mission. I took her out, got the quest at the beidge, put her back in thinking she might be able to assist with the dialog at the end...no go.
  11. You only really get 1 chance to roleplay, thats your 1st run through the game, after that you're meta gaming
  12. haha, this guy..."I made some decisions, they were bad / I didnt know everything there is about the game yet, and the game held a mirror to me at the end of the game I didnt like what I saw/done. I blame the game" Whatever happened to learn from your mistakes or try again? Now its, 'No gold star for just launching the game? Time to blame someone' There is someone who tells you of Raedrics return, if you didnt find them, not the games fault. The Machine in Heritage Hill gets re-activated, that crushed me in the recap, because like you I thought as the game go on, maybe I would learn a new 'Watcher Power' to do right by those souls, plus destroying what you dont fully understand is what savages do. But hey, I learned something. But as for you making a decsion and then that person or place dies anyway...so WHAT? That has nothing to do with the decsion you made earlier. Oh I told the rogue to rest and then he died- so what? You thought because you told him to take a nap he was going to be with you saving the world at the end of the game? You make no sense, just seem made cause you ran through a game one time and didnt get the 5 star ending that you yourself admit to taking a hands-off approach to.
  13. I totally get what OP is saying cause from levels 1-6 Kana is all whistling a tune and then, you get in front of that door and he loses it. If the mobs had changed from guls and skele warriors to 'trapped survivor' or something like that to explain the tone of what was happening it might have made sense. The wizard in the room isnt even named differently, its just a skeletal wizard, for all we know Gabrannos could have been lower down...he jumped to alot of conclusions right there, feels like there should have been more clues leading up to that point through scripts you walk over or something, prompting party members to make note of things.
  14. speaking of unaccesible treasure, there is a level with a statue of Yesen...it looks like it wants the sword I looted from the main level but that sword had no blue glow around it so I sold it off as a regular weapon...Im guessing he wants that sword back to open that passage?
  15. lol, yes randomly selected from a set pool of items randomly selected is random, regardless how large the pool is. On the items, its nice in that the choices arent static but on the other hand, you want to know where to go for known items too. One play through I found a fine war bow in the swamp meadows by dead campers, next play through I found fine hunter bow. First playthrough I didnt even know there were gloves that had mechanic and +1 dex, next playthrough I found two. The one of a kind/named armors and weapons, those can always be found in the same place, but the good magical items that arent unique appear or dont on a per playthrough basis it seems
  16. Someone needs a higher survival skill. Survival has to be one of the most useful *dialog* skills in the game
  17. I like the companions, - I'd probably still be using them if I didnt glance at their stats page, most of them are horrible and that irks me to no end. I made my own versions of them and while I miss the banter running around everywhere, I like efficient combat much much more and now I can really focus on the main story. I'll probably use them on my replays
  18. He keeps going on about it. Im only on A3 so I took him to Kurren. I didnt like that answer, was hoping to find a better, stronger cipher - saw that someone found another one in the A3 town but the answer is the same as Kurren so I think it continues past 'oh well'
  19. Now you know for your next playthrough. Being able to progress through all factions simultaneously makes no sense, thats what replays are for. Maybe they can add something of a disclaimer before /when giving you the initial quest in their dialog but no, dont try and make the game kidproof <aka dumbed down>. You learned something, pass it on to the rest of us and keep playing, imo.
  20. they definitely restock, just ticks me off when they sell 3 (or less)
  21. Yes please, where do I sign? Because I demand the right to be able to loot 15 Xaurips, who have absolutely nothing of value, all the same loot, individually. I dont like the convenience or the time saving that area looting provides. I want my looting to be archaic and old fashioned! (This post is for entertainment purposes only and no support will be provided to this cause).
  22. I killed the bear and got a ton of positive rep...left it there and moved on. Didnt know you could make them fight
  23. That thing is a Vithrak? Been looking for its brain for many moons now. Its benevolent to let it go but...I notice in this game, a lot of enemies I should be killing I usually end either letting them live or *helping* them. I remember recalling after entering the catacombs, 'thats the 2nd time I've come across a necromancer in his den, surrounded by his minions...and didnt kill him...now Im off to find a grimoire for him?' Osyra almost fooled me as well. Almost.
