  1. Welcome to the forum, Rihanna. So tomorrow is my 41st birthday, and I think I crammed in enough major achievements in year 40 to level up safely. It was a good year.

  2. With high accuracy and hit to crit conversion. That might involve a Ranger since that's the class with the most ACC bonuses. Example: Ranger/Monk (stacking the Ranger's ACC passives with Monk's Enduring Dance). Stunning Surge lowers deflection even more. Ranger/Fighter with Warrior Stance and Disciplined Strikes. Ranger/Paladin with Flames of Devotion and Ring of Focused Flame (+20 ACC) as well as Accurate Wounding Shot (+20 ACC). Ranger/Berserker with Berserker's Frenzy, Barbaric Smash, Bloodlust and Blood Thirst. The recovery skip on kill combines well with the 50/50 recovery skip on crit. Ranger/Cipher with debuffs and Borrowed Instincts. Ranger/Wizard with Citzal's Martial Power and debuffs (Miasma and such). Ranger/Troubadour with Sure-Handed Ila, Mith Fyr and Ben Fidel's Neck/Killers Froze Stiff. Devoted/Berserker also works though. Not that much accuracy but the crit conversions from Disciplined Barrage and Berserker Frenzy stack up (though not additively but still). And Blood Thirst etc. Aided by a Priest with Devotions and Blessing. Stuff like that. Note that Driving Flight (Ranger) raises the chance to trigger the effect significantly. Hit rolls done by Driving Flight do count. This also works really well with Stunning Surge (refund on crit).

  6. PoE2 is a great. I had alot fun playing it. I don't think the pirate theme is bad at all, but it is just a little too stereotypical imo: everywhere are pirates, everyone is drunk and also talking like that and OFC there is somewhere a kraken hiding and a Davy Jones ship that is not being owned by Davy Jones, he got replaced by a female skeleton thingy called Lucia Rivan. I really felt SOMETIMES like playing a Pirates of the Carribbean game. It's just a little too much. On the contrast however, PoE2 offers great combat, multiclassing, alot of really unique items, turn-based mode, cool and challenging bosses and alot alot to explore. Unfortunatelly the main path literally consists of only 4 quests, which is just too little imo (Crypt -> Hassongo -> Ashen Maw -> Ukaizo -> Done). Furthermore PoE1 had a really dark story, from my perspective, which I liked alot. I really liked Thaos! He was mysterious and I was actually looking forward to get somehow more involved in the Leaden Key in PoE2. As I said the pirate theme is not bad at all, but the transition from PoE1 to PoE2 was so weird for me. From a dark story into an overall alot happier atmosphere (besides what Eothas is doing ofc). Summarized I would still say PoE2 totally deserves a 90/100 aswell as PoE1 because it does alot things better than PoE1, especially gameplay/combat/quests, but I was just hoping personally for a much darker and longer main story for the sequel. If they would have continued the dark theme and introduced more mysterious characters, like Thaos, PoE2 would have been 95+/100 easily.

  9. Yeah, this format sucks. I would prefer something like scheduling each candidate to get an hour to talk unchallenged, uninterrupted about their campaign and the platform they're running on like a week in advance (maybe one candidate for an hour each night?), THEN having this yell-for-time shouting match...err, I mean, debate, where they and the moderators can challenge each other on the ideas they previously presented. Networks probably aren't interested in that because it wouldn't get much views, but giving each candidate a chance to talk televised (preferably live) at their own pace about what they want would probably be useful at informing us what kind of personality and campaign they intend to project rather than only being able to listen to all of their desperate attempts to simply get air time.

  11. Inslee & Hickenlooper are out of the running. 10 candidates have qualified for the next round of the playoffs... I mean debate. The best candidate is still on the outside looking in. I donated $100 to her campaign. If anyone had ever told me the day would come when I would not only support but actually donate to a f-----g Democrat I'd have called them a liar. Strange days we find ourselves in.

  13. Surely, I am overexaggerating at some point and you are right all RPGs are using cliches, but why do you think some are getting rated very high and others get completely forgotten. It's about presentation! I give you an example of how I look at this things: Let's talk about The Elder Scrolls and the Dark Brotherhood. This is a vampire theme, super stereotypical, nothing really innovative there. BUT I haven't met a single person yet that would have denied this questline being amazing/entertaining. So after this questline was well received in the the Oblivion game, what have they done with in Skyrim ? Well, they just took it again, added some similar generic quests, some unique quests to continue the brotherhood story and everyone is going nuts again. Again great, at least that's my opinion and everyone I have talked to about that. You do not have to reinvent the wheel. One of the most important things to mention is that the Dark Brotherhood is an element Bethesda did not really advertised with in contrast to Obsidian with the pirate theme. Let's now take an example from Deadfire, the Flying Dutchman cliche. A very obvious element from the pirate theme. Davy Jones aka Lucia Rivan here get's introduced. You get the story told about Lucia by the kid that survived. Furrante, Aeldys and Yseyr. All of them telling you about her, it's really cool, honestly. The introduction was perfectly fine, but when you finally are able to step onto the Flying Dutchman things are getting really disappoiting for me. All you do, after finally meeting Lucia, is: Talk to her for literally less than 5 minutes and to decide to kill her and take the ship OR if you have the skill check trade the ship for your own ... That's it. That was SO disappointing. That's an element from the pirate theme, that Obsidian did advertise with, am I right ? I mean there is nothing behind Lucia Rivan. You do not really listen to HER story, what does she say, what is her real intention, you cannot side with her and take revenge or something like that, maybe she is looking for some kind of salvation because she is cursed and you might help her, not even a single quest that you directly get from HER. I just think you could have done alot more with the Flying Dutchman cliche. That's why I am saying it's about presentation. I like the pirate theme actually, I would have liked alot siding with her, being a part of the undead and doing some cruel quests for example. Unfortunatelly you cannot. Edit: I actually also want to mention a great example in Deadfire. Let's take the cliche of "there is drake terrifying the village and you are the hero to climb the mountain and kill it". This cliche is used for Beast of the Winter, which is btw my favourite DLC. Just look how Obsidian presented it: - you are being introduced to some kind of cult, everyone is waiting for you and wants to hear what to do next - you actually have no clue what is going on - out of the nothing the drake appears and you think everyone is going crazy -> they want to get killed on purpose and are looking for some kind of salvation this way, no clue, mindblowing for personally - you follow the drake into a cave, into the Vytmadh where he has an never-ending battle with Rynhaedr - you replay older scenarios, which are frozen in time, SUPER cool - and even more stuff ... THAT is amazing presentation, let me tell you that. BW was awesome. Same applies to others DLCs. They are really great. That is a way to use a cliche and present it where the player, at least me, doesn't instantly know what is really going on and what to do. The problem is: when the DLCs are much better than the actual main game, you might get bad reponses/reviews. Even if they would buy the game NOW with all DLCs, they tend to play the main plot first before exploring the rest. That's problematic. Dont't get me wrong. I really do not want to brag more about it. PoE2 is really awesome. I have played almost 800 hours by now. More than twice as much as in PoE1 because in Deadfire there is alot more to do and to explore, but some elemets are just so poorly presented, I am sorry.

  14. Personally I would go with ranger/cipher. Besides Borrowed Instinct (20acc) you can lower enemies deflection even further (Phantom Foes -10def, Psychovampiric Shield -10def)

  15. Devoted/sharpshooter - devoted and sharpshooter passive pen should stack with weapon modal. Recovery penalty shouldn't be so bad if you skipping it with crits and as soon, as you got driving flight, you have two chances with every shoot. Subclasses and discipline strikes give solid hit-to-crit, and bonus crit damage. Conqueror stance, marked pray and ranger passive abilities makes accuracy high enough to get crits frequently. I have also some ideas you can try Takedown combo with power strike for massive damage, but it's mele only, so take monastic unarmed training and switch to fists Boost accuracy with scordeos edge and clear out - without proficency it wouldn't be effective for damage, but great accuracy boost If you build up hunters fang stacks with mele weapons (sun and moon and shattered vengance or rapier in offhand, or WotEP) it maybe gives bonus to ranged weapon too, but i haven't tested it

  17. This poll is even worse than a false dichotomy, as neither option actually solves anything. You could add Dungeons & Dragons too to the list for that matter. North American population is too overweight: Ban KFC or Ban McDonald? Same thing, banning either, neither or both wont solve the problem. Presenting no viable poll options is just trying to create an echo chamber for your own perceptions for the problem. Volourn (bless his little kanadian soul) almost got it right, except banning people wont work either. People and society is the problem and fixing the underlying problems need to start there. Addressing things like how are people that are isolated, ostracized, marginalized etc. treated? How is the mental healthcare for the population, especially for the aforementioned groups? The NRA isn't the problem, just a symptom. Cure the disease and the symptoms go away.

  18. I hope my ancient '98 Subaru Legacy wagon doesn't konk out from 20+ year old parts breaking down, any time soon. it won't be from high mileage since I hardly drive anymore. Can I make it last 40 years? Might have to replace more hoses... I really don't want to have to buy a new/used car with all the computer tech in it. Or with the way they design windows now (which makes me feel like I can't see anything, especially side/back windows). Blech. Maybe by then I'll be able to get some revamped classic car (which by then will be from the 80's....) or something. Edit: sadly most 50's/60's/70's "classic" cars don't fit me well and not many people revamp early 80's Toyotas. Ha.

  20. Unity Console uses IPA to "cook" a new exe and libs for the game, so it doesn't appear in the mod list due to being Base/System level alterations. The "break" in Add Ability occurs with it being not only the only active, but the only resident and loaded Mod ( I did a "dummies" level test by shifting everything else out override folder and reloading into the Prologue Cabin. Icons either active as only mod, or active with any level of mods... Broken Add Ability. Icons either inactive ( but present in override ) or just not installed in Overrride... Add Ability works fine. I tried stress testing it and even "breaking" the model rigs etc with GodTint and Godlike Unlocker doesn't break the UC, and Load Order doesn't seem to matter. It's simply when you try and load Icons with Unity Console, something in one of them doesn't like the other ( I'm guessing UC is looking for the old Icon properties ) and the Add Ability borks. You can work around it by doing a Convert and then setting either Weaponskill or Ability high for one level and removing, but the real killer is if you want to do something like add the Eder Pet Unlock etc for an RP run. As said it was more to see if it was an easy fix since UC seems "lapsed" dev wise, and if not just to let you guys know so you could add a caveat to the testers/hardcore tweakers now I'd tracked it down for my case and been able to reproduce it reliably and exclude other causes. Personally I'm just living without the second pet and using the workaraound... the new icons are just too nice.

  24. @BruceVC the US has spied on the rest of the world and influenced regional politics and toppled democratically elected governments to replace them with puppets for decades. I'm not sure if anyone is *really* surprised when other countries eventually try to return the favour. Heck, for two decades (at least), the US has been spying on European citizens and companies via the Echelon system (google bbc and echelon for a more in-depth art article on it). Couldn't help but burst out laughing when I read the BBC news this morning. Good on you Ms Frederiksen, one woman who is very unimpressed by Trump, there is apparently no limit to how far he will go embarrass himself. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-49423968
