  1. Completed the main story in Saints Row. Did not expect the plot twist. But in the end, best friends squad won. Overall a positive experience.

  2. That's why you get games on Epic. Download speed always sucks, so you can't tell the difference.

  4. I'm glad Larian is continuing to at least play into my theory of the Baldur's Gate series essentially being an elaborate mind flayer alien invasion plot in the vein of the X-Files. It's the least they could do after making the game turn-based.

  5. kinda looks like a shar-pei, but most "puppies" do. the placard is embossed pink, which +ten years ago and back as far as early 20th century would signal feminine. nowadays is bad to make such assumptions and is largely irrelevant at the moment. regardless, congrats to @ShadySands and his family on this most recent blessing. for what it is worth, you got our sincere best wishes and hopes of good health. may you and yours enjoy many years o' happiness together. HA! Good Fun!

  7. Only if it's good! Idk, from what I'm seeing I would probably give it a shot at some point. But first I need an ssd, a new graphics card and for it to not cost 60euro.

  9. They have not been completely assimilated, but the Karelians, Komi, Udmurts and Mari are not doing particularly well, from what I understand, and neither are their languages. Colonial policies are still going fairly strong, and Russia has also had little interest in rebuilding anything that suffered damage in WW2 -- but of course that was only about 80 years ago, surely you can't get expect them to have started yet. As for Russia and corruption: from my understanding, you are indeed quite correct -- Russia's biggest fear around Ukraine is that it manages to free itself from both corruption and Russian influence to a significant extent, thus demonstrating to Russians that a different, better way of living is indeed possible. According to the historian Timothy Snyder, Russia's main export is corruption, and because Russia doesn't have much ability to make itself stronger or more stable, it concentrates its energy on trying to make everybody else weaker and more unstable. (Here's one of existence's bitter ironies: breaking things down is nearly always so much easier than building or even maintaining them.) I can't see the Karelia situation changing, by the way. There was this pipe dream of getting it back, but I don't think it was ever anything more than that, realistically speaking. For many passionate Russians, of course, anything that was ever Russian is always Russian, so the whole of Finland is still regarded as belonging to Russia, which is something that president Mauno Koivisto also emphasizes in his book The Idea of Russia (link above, somewhere quite near). In terms of nature, by the way, Karelia is quite distinct from much of Finland (as are the Baltic countries immediately to the south), so it could be an extraordinarily beautiful and fertile area if it was cared for by some country other than Russia. Not that I'm a fan of Finland's forestry policies, mind you: some of them are downright hideous.

  10. Good to know all the options. Trickster will be my third or fourth run, so I have plenty of time to decide. Happened to me twice. It was subtle, so I could get out without embarrassing her.

  11. Yeah, something like that. Brian Johnson is another good example of the same. I mean, you just go and try to pull off a good karaoke rendition of the song linked below. Lead vocals start at about 1:04. My throat gives up before the first line is over.

  16. More than to cause panic I'd say they were there just to give Poland the finger. I also agree with your second point: seriously doubt they dropped anyone off. This is a fairly common Russian strategy: Russian airplanes breach Finnish and Swedish airspace with some regularity, just to remind everyone that Russia doesn't give a damn and is a big bad wolf. Every time Finland or Sweden remind Russia that it would do well to keep its airplanes in its own airspace, Russia the aggressor immediately becomes Russia the victim. You can't get more childish than that, I'd say.

  17. But they may have fixed that with the last week of EA.

  18. Probably just to cause panic. Doubt they dropped anyone off. Unless they already have logistics/insurgents set up. Then again a lot of people immigrated to Poland at the start of the war, it's not that farfetched that some pro-Russia people set up there.

  20. Stop making me tempted to try building stuff lmao. I've done some testing and at least with my modded game (which has several "fixes" to make it inline with pnp as well as additions), charging specific things besides the Fabled Hero's Lance don't apply on subsequent attacks when pouncing. So if we want the crazy damage we're looking at stacking up stuff for that single charge, for my modded game I'd float a full Gendarme worshipping Gorum using Greatswords and Vital Strike as the best way to do this. One of the things added is Gorum's Divine Fighting Technique, which applies Vital Strike on a charge. Stacked together you're adding x4 the damage roll from Gendarme and Spirited Charge along with the Greater Mythic Vital Strike. Using this with Bloody Red Cleaver outcompetes the Fabled Hero's Lance by a bit on the initial hit, and the 6d6 (the greatsword beats the lance by 2d6 using enlarge shenanigans) from subsequent attacks doesn't make up for it. Mythic paths will obviously complicate things and all that, but it was a fun thot experiment to play with it. Again this is all with mods so it may not be applicable to any vanilla builds, but I highly reccomend Tabletop Tweaks to everyone who has played the game or wants to play it.

  21. Yeah I think that the button you're talking about only works for characters because it runs off xp, which animal companions don't use. Mythic Rank does work, so if you want mythic companions you can do it that way. I'd still lean towards cheating if you're ok with it, I think animal companions have their natural armor and stat bonuses tied to their level in which case you'd be down a substantial amount of AC. If you want to play it fair-ish, you can take Boon Companion as a feat and add in Horse Master via Toybox so it'll act like you skipped the Caviler feature prerequisite that Horse Master has. As an even more cheating alternative, you can play around with an interpretation of Free Archetype from 2e and take Arcane Trickster as a gestalt. Though with +10 CL (you may have to uncap caster level, luckily Toybox has this option) and all the goodies from levels 11-20 of Sylvan Sorcerer you will be substantially stronger, like half a Legend with all the Trickster goodies.

  22. Gotta say Russia is steadfast indeed in its use of "special military operation" instead of "war". If it was at all possible, someone might even suggest that Ukraine could join NATO right now because by Russia's own definition, it is not a nation currently at war.

  25. Gameplay? Who cares about gameplay. Can I decorate appropriately? In A21, yes, I can. Still not enough cat portraits tho. I like the normal mood lighting better aesthetically, but harder to see in screenies. There are these new (not craftable) hedge blocks in the game, too. I should cheat them in and make a hedge maze..

  26. That was not my intention. I just acknowledge not everyone likes their pop/brand and thus may not pay attention or care re: instrument/musicianship. Like my long suffering older brother. I stopped paying attention during/after Seven and the Ragged Tiger 'cause that was when I started dating and stopped paying attention to much of anything outside of that, haha. Plus I didn't really like that album much. Then years later I heard Ordinary World being played while in a mall and thought "that voice is familiar." I still don't pay much attention to them in current times but it's nice to know they're still around. I think they were put in the hall of fame a while back too. Duran Duran and Rio are still the fave albums of theirs, although I do like the singles Ordinary World/Come Undone a lot. Simon Le Bon is one of those odd singers for me where when I listen to him I feel like he doesn't really have a great singing style - it's weirdly (to me) like he is always almost on the verge of going out of tune yet he doesn't quite - yet it works for the band/music they create. Heh.

  28. technical the swarm doesn't become a giant spider. through agency o' the clemency of shadows ring (one o' the best crusade relics in the game btw,) a giant spider is summoned for 3 rounds whenever a party member, including summons, is rendered unconscious or dies. if you want a cheap way to create a functional impenetrable wall of summons, the monster or animal summons 1 spells will suffice 'cause when the giant spiders die or is rendered unconscious, they also trigger the clemency of shadows summon effect. as such, starting the daisy chain with the lowest level spell possible makes tactical sense. 'course clemency of shadows is most useful 'cause o' the attacks o' opportunity modifier, but the summoned spiders is kinda a hoot. HA! Good Fun!

  29. In an unmodded base game, transmutation effects stack even though they should not. If you cast Reduce Person on a Halfling before casting Frightful Aspect on them, you can put them on enlarged mounts other than horses, so you could try Beast Rider for some more fun setups. Thank me later.
