No, it's not. The US is currently attacking Canada and holding Mexico by way of having its designated puppet as president there; Joe Biden's ranting speeches contain all the same themes of satanism and what have you. The forcibly mobilized hordes sent to Canada consist mostly of indigenous American peoples, such as the Pawnee and the Navajo. I can't see a difference between the US and Russia in this or any other regard; you're quite right and your observation is remarkably astute and pertinent.3 points

More info on the “pond” and the alleged UA counteroffensive on the front. @xzar_montyPond here is translated as “rybník” a.k.a. small recreational water area, primary used to grow fishes. I believe, it is the same in Ukrainian, as the direct translation of that water area from ukrainian to english is Northern Pond. And here is the info on the alleged cucumber shaped which DefMon refutes in the above Tweet. So it should be taken with a pretty big grain of salt until anyone confirms it. Due to psyops, both guys can be right. I am more inclined to believe DefMon this time, despite Suchomimus being very trustworthy and accurate so far.3 points

It's not weird at all. If I took all your favorite things and turned them all into steaming piles of dog poop, and then it turns out you don't like dog poop, well, what the hell is wrong with you? Why don't you like your steaming piles of dog poop? These steaming piles of dog poop were committee-formulated and market-tested specifically to appeal to your dog poop tastes - there must be something very wrong with you to not like your steaming piles of dog poop! Maybe you're even an -ist or two for not liking your dog poop... Everyone else in the world loves these steaming piles of dog poop, why don't you?! It doesn't help that we're all more connected than we've ever been. Before the internet, if you didn't like something, maybe you told some of your closest friends and you all talked about it and then you usually moved on - no hard feelings, or at least there shouldn't be. Now if you frequent a forum like this or view comments on social media, you could post about how you tried but didn't enjoy something, and immediately the next person that replies talks about how GREAT it was while making sure to hit you with their imbecilic emoji spam. One doesn't really have to do with the other, but it is difficult not to unconsciously associate them nevertheless. Negative feelings about something have infinite opportunity to grow while allowing practically nothing for it to reverse course thanks to the internet.2 points

I am kvetching on the weather here. I've had about 3 and a half days of weather good enough to do priming and painting in over the last two months. I thought it had turned a corner last week, but now we're back to a serious cold snap due to icy winds from Siberia. So I have scattered pieces of Mando armour waiting to be properly done that I can't because we keep sinking below 10 Centigrade temps and that causes the paint to go funky. And of course my budget was on the spray cans that I can't use inside the house. I've been nibbling away on the small accessories, because I can nip outside, spray and then put them back in the house instead of the garage, without the house getting fumed up. Which I can't do with the significantly larger armour pieces. Still. I do now have some shiny. My DT-10 heavy blaster "clean" and assembled (now I need to give thought to how I'm going to approach weathering it):1 point

Yeah, I don't agree with Sarex here but cfr is a tad biased towards buffing the US' reputation. Middle quintiles is not the recognised definition of middle class, well, anywhere; middle class is top quartile, in terms of income. That's a really basic mistake to make, though my evaluation of cfr is poor enough that I suspect it isn't a mistake, but is a deliberate. Their data actually shows most recruits come from blue collar and working class. Though really that's exactly what you'd expect (along with a lot of people from military families) since those are the largest demographics. This also makes a nice comparison with the Russian losses map and illustrates exactly how propaganda works. The cfr map of military recruitment uses absolute numbers to show that poorer states aren't over represented in the US. Guess what happens if you use absolute numbers on that Russian map? You guessed it, Moscow turns black, Tuva turns green and suddenly it's ethnic Russians seeming to die disproportionately. Which is as unsurprising as California, Texas, Florida, New York and other high population states contributing most recruits to the US military, and Moscow has something like a fifth of the Russian population. Always smelled like a psyop that.1 point

Maybe during the Vietnam war, but without a draft, most US recruits are coming from the middle class and are predominately white. https://www.cfr.org/backgrounder/demographics-us-military#chapter-title-0-7 So uh, no. Your statement hold no merit.1 point

Hi, long range (12 meters) there are Bows, Crossbows and Arbalests. From these I'd pick the ones with Speed and Wounding, so: Persistence Wendgär Hold Wall (with also overbearing) The Rain of Godagh Field And some with stunning and overbearing: Aedrin's Wrecker (stunning and overbearing) Borresaine So 6 weapons, by the way I'd drop one os those for Pliambo per Casitàs for Marking and Disorienting enchantments. If you wanna 6 weapons with Helwax Mold, I'd choose: Persistence Hold Wall Aedrin's Wrecker Borresaine 2 x Pliambo per Casitàs (+10 for 2 PG are better). Stormcaller for chanter is not so good and shock damage versus bosses don't make the difference in my opinion. One note: with these weapons you can face stun or prone immunity enemies, but you'd can have problems with pierce immunity foes, like rain and flame blights (I don't remember other enemy with this immunity), so you can keep some wands/rods/scepter as backup1 point

Peskov is whining, that Scholz and Macron are no longer calling Putin Their pettyness can still amaze me sometimes. https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2023/02/28/7391319/ in the meantime Rheinmetall with Estonia are commencing with shipments of automated surveilance stuff to UA. https://www.reuters.com/article/rheinmetall-orders-idUSL8N3582SC EDIT: Saudi Arabia has decided to pick a side, and signed 400M USD help to Ukraine, of which 300M is on oil related products and 100M on humanitarian help.1 point

I loved the game and I am happy to see that Obsidian are not going to worsen its performance or force me to download the content I cannot use. Considering that they did mess up the critical path in PoEII in one of the last updates, seeing that this is optional and, to be completely safe, paid is a relief. Which also reminds me that I wanted to replay both of them (PoEII before the "Ultimate" update, of course).1 point

Oh no, Solovyov admitting Russia did start this war. Vatnik propagandists are going to be shattered, guess its not the West\NATO fault. But refreshing to see some honestly, " oh what a tangled web we weave when we seek to deceive "1 point

You know, if you're prone to paranoia and you're isolated and there's plenty of quiet and it lasts for over a year, you can become very uneasy indeed... But I know what you're talking about. Imaginaton always has more room when there's less to attach to, in terms of concrete news, for instance, and this isn't generally a good thing. The business-as-usualization of a war is not a good thing, either.1 point

Ah yes, the British supermarket with its huge section dedicated to tomatoes, in winter. I know the shortages are a bit more... dramatic than just tomatoesbut last time I was in the UK the dichotomy between climate change rhetoric and people wanting year round luxury foodstuffs like strawberries and tomatoes- which are ludicrously energy inefficient out of season, especially strawberries that don't even last more than a few days- was pretty jarring.1 point

There is a rather funny bug that can get you stuck in The Crucible. In the very first challenge called "Agony of the Elements" you are faced with Tyrant of Decay. Using paladin to sneak on him and successful of casting Abjuration will destroy the Tyrant without actually starting the combat with it. Since there is no combat start, there is no combat end and you are now stranded in The Crucible without a way out....... Enjoy the rest of your life trapped in that arena .... PS: This is probably a bug and should be looked into.1 point

Mrs. Hurlshot definitely phoned it in a bit on the competition. She has always been really good at cooking meat (I tend to handle vegetables) but I'm pretty sure she was throwing it. She was also a couple glasses of chardonnay in. Morgan Hill and Gilroy are pretty decent agricultural areas, even with all the development in recent years. My wife grew up here and can do all the weird farm stuff like strangling chickens or whatever. I'm a city boy compared to her. The High School has a functioning farm with livestock. I was surprised my daughter joined up, but her options for chemistry this year were a teacher she already struggled with or Soil Chem on the FFA track. She is getting good grades in Soil Chem, so I think she made the right choice. She also seems to enjoy the competition side of it and she's not afraid to get her hands dirty. We have plenty of friends with livestock on their property, so she is getting her animal husbandry credit there. I'm not building a chicken coop, no matter how much my wife and daughter bug me about it.1 point

Outer Worlds (Obsidian alrigtish FPRPG, not the best game of all times Outer Wilds) is getting makeover next week. Apparently it won't be a free upgrade for those who own base game and both DLCs, so it is a bit of a bummer. It will be $60 and reduced price for existing owner - how reduced, I do not know.1 point

Finished watching Night Sky. And they cancelled it after 1 season. Low audience numbers. I can understand why though, it's only 8 episodes and quite slow in the first couple. A lot of focus on relationships which I thought was well done. Apparently, not enough pew pew sci-fi to keep audiences watching it. It doesn't get good until about episode 5 and then from there it takes off. So much happened in the last half of the season finale. Quite original and season 2 would have answered a lot of questions.1 point

Anyone here played Fallout: New Vegas? Always found it grating on the ears hearing people calling him Caesar pronounced with a K (I.e. Kaesar)? Well, turns out it is wrong... sort of. Because that doesn't make it sound any closer to classical Latin anyway, far from it, so you might as well stick with the established English pronunciation of it!1 point

March? derbauer did a preview of one, though I think the general consensus was that that chip isn't really HEDT but well into workstation territory (ie requires a server MB, server RAM etc, expensive otherwise too).0 points
