  1. given our particular frame o' mind, am thinking if we were hurl's wife we would throw the match while not making it look obvious. when we were a crumbsnatcher, we did quite a bit o' work on the ranch 'cause there were always work which needed be done. muck out stables were one o' our least favorite chores, but the mental list o' least favorites were voluminous. the typical kid our age were expected to do chores: cut the grass, shovel snow, clean dishes, kitchen, bathrooms, etc. heck, once we moved to chicago we had a paper route and chores, though no horse stalls so we saw as a major improvement in our quality o' life. nowadays? in 2023 we wouldn't be shocked if neighbors called child protective services on parents o' kids who were doing as Gromnir; child labour and all that. parents gotta be sly and clever in 2023 'cause am understanding cultural norms has changed a bit regarding chores. is probable a good thing for kids to enjoy their youth, so am kinda ambivalent. even so, prepare a couple meals every week don't strike us as particular onerous. have kids be enthusiastic to do what is functional chores? if mrs. hurlshot could take an L to maybe convince hurl's daughter to choose to do cooking, then am calling that a win. same competition and we would purposeful lose to the young person... without making look purposeful. aside for @Hurlshot: pineapple juice. eye of round looks a bit like chuck but is near the arse end o' the beast, so is a bit less tough than chuck or cross-rib, etc. nevertheless eye of round is less tender than sirloin or rib-eye or most any other steak cut not meant to be braised. furthermore, particular if you do shopping at a soopermarket, you may get stuck with sirloin which is not worth the money you paid. is an enzyme in pineapple juice which will tenderize even tougher (sh!tty) cuts o' meat. one hour in pineapple juice (and salt) is gonna significant improve what would otherwise be tough meat. won't make the meat taste like pineapple neither. pineapple juice is effective less 'cause it is acidic than 'cause o' the enzyme, but the acidity also helps. (edit: am not a fan o' marinades save for extreme thin cut meat. if you got time, then am always opting for what amounts to a brine.) am admitting am kinda surprised by the ffa participation. at least when we were young, 4h and ffa were making the raising o' an animal integral to the program. have you moved somewheres with more space? we s'pose raise a chicken or bunny is possible if you don't have acreage, but no doubt you and your daughter is aware the critter ain't being raised until you may find it a good home, yes? unless things has serious changed, raising an ffa bunny won't necessarily end with an old yeller scene, but you will be selling the critter to somebody who is not looking for a pet. HA! Good Fun!

  3. My wife and my daughter had a steak competition this weekend. I went to the store and got a fair amount of Round Eye Steaks for a decent price, and my daughter has been taking part in FFA (Future Farmers of America) and learning to judge meat (that's what she said.) My wife did a dry rub, seared it, and then baked it with rosemary and butter. It was decent. But my daughter seared and then basted it on the stove with onions and broth. She won! Now we get to bug her to cook steaks until she moves out of the house.

  4. Finished the game. Took me 220 hours on the dot. I was going for the true ending and was sure I got everything right, but in the end I forgot to Had a little difficulty with the last area, but only because I wanted to save my buffs for later (there was no need because you could rest at the camp after). Once I buffed the party it was smooth sailing. Overall I liked it more than Kingmaker, in pretty much all aspects. The Crusade mini game was miles ahead of kingdom management, but in the end it really went donwhill when I had to I do not know why they didn't figure out something better there. I liked the final boss more in the kingmaker DLC instead of the one in the Midnight Islands. Probably because I could do him earlier in the game and so it was actually a challenge. The things I very much dislike about WotR are the camera, I do not understand why they made it like this... Well I do understand, they added much more verticality and fancy spinning cities, but my god was the camera bad. The other thing is the lack of hard/challenging fights in the second half of the game. In the end I think I may actually replay the other mythic paths at some point. I'll see if the mood takes me.

  6. More Tales of Arise, and more surprises and plot twists After the defeat of fourth Renan Lord, Alphen got finaly rid of his mask. And ne strarted to remeber stuff again After that, the party shipwrecked at the last region of Dahna, which name I’ve already forgotten , and they are slowly moving forward toward the capital. The 5th world is the water element world. I started to feel lack of money for the first time in the game, but it is still manageable. I just have to cherry-pick which weapon to craft and which armour to buy. Getting more and more in love with the game, although it is one of the darkest games from Tales of… universe, which I’ve played so far.

  7. I keep losing my weapons randomly. Not sure if they're dropping or just disappear. One time I found a weapon again, but the rest of the times they were nowhere to be found. Not in inventory or around the area I was in. I didn't throw the weapon either, I even rebound that key to throw weapons, to make sure I didn't accidentally press it. Not sure how to reproduce yet though, but I've had to build a new needle sword at least 3 times so far because it keeps disappearing. Last thing I lost was just a basic ax at least. It happens on multiplayer when I'm the host and even when nobody else was in the server. Anyone else having this issue?

  8. I haven't tried that specifically but I think it's largely doing some of the UE4 Engine.ini tweaks I've done myself. Possibly more in-depth/more entries I'm sure. Works for many, but I think the reason some may not get the boost they're hoping for (read some of the comments on the mod) could be that such parameters may need more tweaking for their specific systems. Or some of the parameters used, on their systems shouldn't be applied, stuff like that. So if it doesn't work for some reason, could still try to look at/adjust some of those things. I just did a few basic ones and got a lot of frame pacing improvement, maybe a small bit of fps gain/stability, and have left it at that. My only remaining issue is the game still sometimes likes to CTD (very randomly) maybe once every 2-3 hours ... or it doesn't for 6+ hours. Super random. lol.

  12. I'm 25 hours into KC:D and Im loving it, some general comments the open world design reminds me of an Elder Scrolls game. If you see a building or mountain you can go and explore. I like how the quests are designed, some have a timer on acceptance but most you can do when you ready The skills advancement system works nicely, I regularly go hunting to increase my agility or train with Captain Bernard to learn combat and increase my combat skills I love the numerous activities like hunting, archery competitions and the opportunity to steal items The economy is realistic and balanced, you really appreciate finding items on bandits and selling them to increase your wealth I have never been so grateful to get a horse during the Ginger quest. I really enjoy the entire realistic implementation of a Medieval world, I love fantasy but its nice to see something different I am enjoying the Romance arcs, I am courting Theresa and taking things slow. Its not my normal hot Viconia with fishnet stockings and knee-high boots Romance but its worthwhile I am getting more proficient in combat and thats always a good thing Its as realistic as it can be without being having annoying mechanics, the weight system works when you can use your horse for storage And I can carry on with whats great about this game but I have covered the main points I dont have any notable criticisms , one minor thing is how animals dont run away from you constantly even when you shooting arrows at them, they tend to stop so you can kill them. This makes hunting easy and unrealistic but I dont mind this

  14. With two mythic paths down I have to say so far I prefer the regular endings to the sekrit one. The sekrit ending tends to rewrite a lot of the ending slides and makes it less reactive.

  18. I'm going deep down the Dagoth Ur rabbit hole. If this is what we get when Skynet ChatGPT takes over then I, for one, welcome our new AI overlords. Side-note: I really need to replay Morrowind, what a great game that was. /checks progress of OpenMW.

  19. The Forgotten City. The game looks gorgeous on medium settings, and there is a photo mode.

  20. The Forgotten City. Replayed the beginning as a soldier (had a gun and 10 bullets), discovered that a. (most of) the NPC don't have their keys on them (e.g. Horatius, the Philosopher, Desius) and b. the bullets can stop the shooting golden statues. So still had fun with it, though would prefer to be able to get the keys.

  23. I have experienced this as well, lost a level 5 black ox hammer most recently. It's hard to be 100% sure, but I noticed it shortly after the game had crashed and I logged back in. I use the hammer very regularly and went back looking for it in the last places I had been. Frustrating, fortunately it was only level 5, but then again I don't have any weapons/armor greater than level 5 at this time. This is in a multiplayer world, however I was playing by myself at the time. I have the Holiday 1.1 update.

  25. Oh, and for #2, I think it was Sister Amalie. She seems more agile than Father Thomas, and she mentioned being good at squeezing through tight gaps. So he tricked her into delivering the "prophecy" notes as well as writing them.

  26. Fair enough, although I don't know how much or to what degree it affected the difficulty I had in the game, as it was much the same in Kingmaker and I didn't have help there, but that was on normal difficulty (minus the two arguably strongest companions). I don't know if there were any balance changes between 2021 and 2023 to encounters, as I have not been reading the patch notes, so again I cannot comment on that either. I do agree with you that you cannot balance the game around the minority of players, but I still wished to have a couple of more optional bosses in the latter half of the game that were more memorable to play against. Saying all of that I enjoyed the time I had in the game immensely.

  27. Been playing Hogwarts. Not gonna lie, I haven't had a game perform this bad on PC since Cyberpunk at release. On an RTX 3080ti. Fun game but not a great port. I Also found the (few) complaints about diversity in a game world that has instant tellaportation is kinda ridiculous.

  28. TL;DW: [X] SKIP (poster's opinion, not Steve's, although he's clearly conflicted there) When you run a game, AMD just turns off half the cores to prevent the game from accidentially running on the cores without the extra cache. What that means is basically that the 7950X3D is a 7800X3D with higher clock speeds in gaming, and it does that only if you run the game bar on windows and set it to balanced power mode. Let that sink in for a moment: the entire reason why AMD is launching the 7800X3D in April is because the 7800X3D is probably going to slaughter the 7950X3D in terms of gaming value, and the only reason that CPU boosts for 700Mhz less is because otherwise it would probably be tied (and to probably not outright kill the 7900X3D for gaming). It's slightly better than an i9-13900k in many of the gaming tests, with Shadows of the Tomb Raider being a massive outlier in favor of the R9 7950X3D, and in Final Fantasy XIV it is even behind the i7-13700k. In production workloads it is just a 7950X. Looking forward to the 7900X3D tests, as AMD didn't ship any of those to the reviewers, apparently. If that CPU exhibits the same behaviour as the 7950X3D, meaning it will just turn off half the cores in gaming, it might end up performing worse than a 7800X3D in games that make good use of the extra two cores over the higher clock speed. Wouldn't that be fun to see?

  29. Outer Worlds (Obsidian alrigtish FPRPG, not the best game of all times Outer Wilds) is getting makeover next week. Apparently it won't be a free upgrade for those who own base game and both DLCs, so it is a bit of a bummer. It will be $60 and reduced price for existing owner - how reduced, I do not know.

  30. is good to recognize how when the game were first released, we had more than a few people on this board bemoaning the difficulty o' demon lord battles. just look at deskari's stats! am also gonna concede if you have no idea what is coming with baphomet, then the battle is a bit o' a shock and may require a couple reloads. etc. the owlcat boards, which is useless nowadays, were ugly with people complaining 'bout game difficulty, while other folks tried to convince the critics that wotr were so ez. groundhog day. particular with the dlcs, you now have access to better gear and likely an additional level compared to a september 2021 player facing baphomet or melazmera. is also a far better understanding o' builds and exploits which will trivialize later battles but not earlier ones simple 'cause there is so few exploits available to lower level players. the thing is, the exploits were not so well understood by most players back in 2021. just saying, is easy to forget late 2021 wotr and early 2023 is much different from a player pov. HA! Good Fun!
