  2. I'm starting a new batch of mead today. The last batch was a hit with the family over Christmas, it mellowed out significantly over the month or so it sat in bottles. This time I'm switching to wine yeast instead of ale yeast in an effort to increase the ABV up to weak wine levels (9-10%). There are a bunch of wine yeast varieties and I have no experience with them so I purchased a couple that are well suited for mead according to the manufacturer: I'm going to try out the K1 first. I intended to use raspberries and mint again but my local Food Lion was out of raspberries and I didn't feel like driving to another store, so this time it's blackberries and mint.

  3. fixed. admitted as a northerner we typical says crayfish, but for culinary purposes, crawfish makes the most sense given the creole and cajun influence on most recipes including the crustacean. crawfish gumbo. yum. aside: we don't much like okra so we lean heavily on roux and file powder. edit: the sacramento crawfish and catfish food and music festival is happening in february, which is odd 'cause it were in september last year. didn't go last year 'cause we had been to farm to fork early september and then some rl stuff happened. am not having a great creole repertoire, so am hoping to pick up a few ideas from festival attendance. HA! Good Fun!

  4. Sure, but WotC is near half of Hasbros revenue, and from reliable sources they are staring hard at those sub numbers, so I think it could be more than one thinks. Theres a cost to get a recurring customer, it takes time for them to get the costs back from actually getting someone in through the door, so people cancelling their subscriptions is a real good way to get them to **** their pants over there If anyone has 2.5 hours to spare, you can watch the rest of that interview with Ryan Dancey.

  6. Lactose Intolerant Armored Arcanist - Solo Upscaled Path of the Damned with Balance Polishing Mod Class: Goldpact Paladin Blood Mage Game Version: Real Time With Pause. Made to play with Balance Polishing Mod and the Community Patch, but will work basically the same without. POTD Solo Viable: Yes, all Upscaled. Megabosses: I farmed Belranga, Dorudugan and Auranic for their mythic stones, without honor. Didn't try Hauani. Companion: Nope. -----WHAT IS INTERESTING ABOUT THIS BUILD?----- For some time now, I've been trying different ways to build a Wizard that could solo at max difficulty, with all the Balance Polishing Mod components including nerfs, and without using anything that could be remotely considered as cheese. BPM already deactivates the funny business around Wall of Draining, Salvation of Time, Strand of Favor etc. On top, it changes Blood Sacrifice to prevent healing for 6 fixed seconds after using the ability. So I built around those parameters. I also didn't want to use Grimoire Imprint shenanigans at all. So I'd like to finally share this build because it does all that I intended in a deceptively simple and brutally effective way, although it's not the fastest at solving encounters... but it's all automated, which is nice. I will detail briefly the proposition and how it works below, and then I'll put the stat/equipment details etc. Please note that Balance Polishing Mod makes it slightly better (e.g. buffed Fire Godlike passive AR) but it can play just as well in vanilla. The core proposition is simple and stays the same from start to finish, it just gets better as we go and grab more gear and abilities: -Pile up an absolute truckload of Armor Rating through passive/active abilities and items, to push the vast majority of incoming attacks into severe under-penetration (-75% damage). You'll still find a few enemies that have Penetration 24-26 on a Graze/Hit (!) but that's rare and manageable. -Pile up high defenses that are easy to maintain through only a couple casts (basically only passive defenses plus Infuse with Vital Essence and Llengrath's Safeguard) to push the vast majority of incoming attacks to Misses (0% damage) and Grazes (-50% damage). You'll still find a few enemies that have autohits and miss-to-graze conversion but that's manageable. -Have max Resolve (35) and Ring of the Solitary Wanderer to cut all hostile effect durations short (approx. -80% duration). -Have a big health pool and some reasonable sustain healing (23hp per 6s, nothing to write home about) to stay bloodied almost all the time (to always trigger Fire Godlike passive +2 Armor Rating and Blood Rage +10 Accuracy from Akola's Apex Ward, more than negating the Large Shield malus). -Use the Large Shield Modal to further neuter any ranged/Reflex targeting attacks (-50% damage). -Offensively, use Concelhaut's Draining Missiles or early on, Corrosive Siphon, to transfer enemy health to our health. -Convert some of that health to replenish spells and repeat the whole process until there is no more enemy health to steal, which means there are no more enemies and the encounter is won. So here is the full breakdown of a high-level encounter: -Ideally, approach enemy from stealth, find a nice position to make a stand. This build likes being out in the open because it can't be flanked (Kapana Taga) and wants to be engaged by 5 enemies to get max defense bonus from Entonia's Signet Ring. Stay in that position for a few seconds to build the 3 stacks of Armor Rating (Stoic Steel). -Begin the encounter by casting Brand Enemy on a priority target (ideally a healer, or an annoying squishy). At this point, we start with defenses in the 170s-200s and Armor Ratings between 21 and 27 (Mythic Magnera's Chain, Stoic Steel, Kapana Taga, Akola's Apex Ward, Gilded Enmity). Not too bad. -My AI script will switch on The Wall modal, start casting Infuse with Vital Essence, Blood Sacrifice until under 50% health, then Llengrath Safeguard. At this point, we have the defenses as per the screenshot above, all in the 200s and minimum Armor Rating is 24 (!). Incoming damage is minimal and importantly, very predictable. Even Bloodied we still have around 250 health. -Then the AI script will chain cast Draining Missiles, prioritizing enemies by lowest Fortitude, and keep casting Blood Sacrifice in-between to keep us Bloodied and full of spells and maintain uptime on Vital Essence and Safeguard. Apart from Safeguard, we want to only ever cast Ability Tier 2 spells to maximize Blood Sacrifice's usefulness. Draining Missiles are very good because they always do the same damage even on Grazes, and having 6 projectiles means they'll always do something. We love consistency and predictability. It is also important to not have too much dexterity in BPM, to have Draining Missiles fired just when the -100% Healing debuff clears out - projectile travel time and target distance play a role there too, so I went conservative with my dexterity, doesn't matter. -Draining Missiles benefit from Brand Enemy +damage so we want to selectively put this on high-priority enemies, but keep some zeal for occasionally casting Lay on Hands if needed on long fights, to reset our primary resource pool i.e. Health. -The encounter will slowly solve itself as enemies fall. There is actually some upside to taking enemies one by one: we limit the level of extra threat generated by the Blood Mage passive when enemies are below 50% Health. So we keep everybody nice and healthy to keep incoming damage under control while we remove threats one after the other. To my surprise, I never had to reload a fight once with this build doing everything on Upscale, even doing tons of mistake (forgetting to pick Stoic Steel on a respec in Splintered Reef, forgetting about The Wall modal in Trial of the Naga, having the script break causing my toon to dumbly autoattack in melee the Ancient Liche Battlemage for 10mn...). It also punches quickly above its level, .e.g I went to facetank Torkar at level 14 without any trouble. With all the little synergies, the math is in its favor to somehow always comes out on top, never being really in trouble. You might wonder if it also works well when enemies can do a lot of Raw DMG. Well, Frightened Child didn't pose any problem, same for all the Vithrak luminaries, the Oracle of Wael... Just a no-cheese, no-nonsense, slow and steady achiever. -----STATS & BUFFS----- Race: Fire Godlike Background: Ixamitl Plains – Hunter FINAL STATS WITH ALL PERMABUFFS AND NO-REST BUFFS AS OF 5.0 (without combat buffs): Might 14 (8 Base +2 Berath +1 Gift from Machine +1 Rabyuna’s Boon +2 Alchemic Brawn) Constitution 23 (15 Base +2 Berath +2 Alchemic Brawn +3 Girdle of Eoten Constitution +1 Hemp Pet) +5 Infuse with Vital Essence Dexterity 15 (7 Base +1 Godlike +1 Rabyuna +2 Berath +2 Alchemic Guile +2 Amira’s Blessing) Perception 19 (14 Base +2 Berath +2 Alchemic Guile +1 Savage Cunning) Intelligence 18 (13 Base +1 Godlike +2 Berath +2 Alchemic Wits) +5 Infuse with Vital Essence Resolve 35 (18 Base +1 Ixamitl +2 Berath +1 Effigy Resentment Pallegina (sorry, bird lady) +2 Alchemic Wits +2 Nature’s Resolve +2 Rikuhu’s Blessing +2 Rabyuna +1 Cauldron’s Brew +2 Token of Faith +1 Solitary Wanderer Ring +1 Boots of the White) ADDITIONAL PERMABUFFS: Food: Hylea's Bounty Adratic Glow All Trainings Dawnstar Blessing Luminous Adra Potion Nature’s Resolve (Accuracy) Savage Cunning (Survival) Galawain’s Gift Magran’s Blessing Immunity to all Sigils Infamous Captain, Bonus Skills, Champion Stats, Port Maje vendor, Fully discovered Map, Bonus Money… invested all 105 Berath’s Blessing Points SKILLS Mechanics 13-ish then max Athletics, Diplomacy 12-ish then max Survival. -----ABILITIES----- ACTIVE Paladin: Gilded Enmity, Brand Enemy. 9. How naughty I didn't like shrimp too much growing up because my mom had a tendency to underseason and overcook so they tasted terribly. Now I love shrimp and eat them regularly (especially shrimp and grits), but I would rather not eat my mom's boiled shrimp ever again. For my money crawfish are the best seafood, especially tossed in some garlic butter Viet-Cajun style. Boil them in some heavily seasoned spicy water and then hit them with some garlic butter to bring out the flavor in the spice. I love having a few pounds of them and sweating like a damn pig as my body gets bombarded with spicy goodness. Maybe if lobster was cooked like that instead of just in salt I'd like it better, but imo lobster is overrated and I'd prefer a steak instead for the price. But the worst seafood for me is probably scallops. I despise the texture and it ruins them for me. Not usually a fan of squid or octopus either, but that probably has more to do with me being freaked out by tentacles than the food itself.

All you've written re: documentation is invaluable feedback, many thanks! I'm thinking about moving the documentation to the gitlab project's wiki page, then adding a "Help" or ? button to the application's header bar which will open that web page. Sounds good? Good point, how about displaying the mod's stringtable range in the Manifest-editing dialog? Thanks, I'm super happy how the error messages turned out I'll check ot the null debugname bug tho

  13. I have found a pretty plausible report, why they are still staying in the western outskirts of Soledar, despite it being completely destroyed. The plausibility of this video is backed by a video posted by the guy from BBC/Pravda article (Magyar). I do not know if I can post it here, but the mentioned second video can be found on Special Kherson Cat. Posted yesterday at 10.28PM CET. Look for snow, railroads, house with green roof and 25 unlucky winners of daily drawing in Lada lottery. Coordinates 48°41'19.3"N 38°03'13.0"E. The video by Magyar is very fresh, probably even from yesterday, as the RuAF are walking from the northwest part of Soledar to the South, in the western parts of the village.

  14. ^ I'm not a particular fan of the Coen brother's films, but Fargo is one of my favorite films. I bought the screenplay back then ... all those "yahs" and "real good thens" etc that the chrs's use were fully scripted. Those scenes where the girls in the bar and the man outside describe Steve Buscemi's chr. as "kinda funny looking" I crack up every time. It's also where I first really took notice of William H. Macy - loved him ever since. ...wait, 1996, it's 27 years old or something? Dangit...

  15. I have a tablet. But the exercise gets in the way of really focusing on the media or the media distracts me mentally from exercising and I end up not really focused on either. I mean it kinda works sometimes but other times I just stare at the wall. That's how I'd describe it. I love being out in stormy weather. Not that I can't get sick of the wet and humidity of rain around home, but when outdoors and everything's wild, I love it. I wouldn't be on a storm chaser level or anything haha but it's exhilarating. ============== ...looks like hubby won't be back until Tues afternoon. And he has my car. Pffft. Too bad that Hogwart's game isn't out yet, I could use something new.

I've been doing guided meditation with my son every night for a few weeks and even though I'm probably imagining it, I swear his attention and patience have improved while his tantrums have reduced. We also do light yoga on the weekends. If we ever have another then I'll definitely start earlier next time.

  18. I'm a bit worried that people might read that and think it's over, which unfortunately some people near me have taken it as. Might be more wishful thinking on their part because they're invested. WotC aren't going to change their minds on gouging out the community, they're just going to word it better. It's so annoyingly transparent. That letter was unbelievably condecending to read through aswell, and I'm more invested in 2d20 than D20...

  19. Yup. Again, you beat me to posting this. And I too agree with the points being made. They are still trying to take away OGL 1.0a. And there was no attempt here by WotC to engage with the community. They tried to unilaterally do something awful. It was leaked. They got severely burned by the community. Now they're desperately trying to get people to believe this is how they always intended for things to happen. LOL

  20. Yeah, I've always had a thing for being out and about during extreme weather as well. There's just something invigorating about being blasted by the elements, and the fact that usually nobody else is outside during is a bonus as well. I'm less fond of snow and blistering cold than I am rain and lightning, but I still have some measure of fondness even for blizzards...it's just the conditions and work afterwards that suck, .

  21. Shattered Pillar... Soulblade, too. Paladin/Soublade is actually quite nice imo. And who is flirting more with Death herself than a Berserker/Helwalker? But seriously: I like that combo very much. Especially with Saru Sichr. Maybe my most favorite melee class combo. The synergies are great and plenty and the challenge of living on the edge can be fun, too.

  25. If the press release is accurate, they've already got 6 other publishers to jump on. On one hand, I love seeing corporate behemoths blow their feet off with obviously dumb and/or malicious acts that predictably bite them in the ass. On the other, Hasbro has THE brand name for ttrpgs, a movie and a big game in the pipeline, and media promotion via stuff like Stranger Things......so I can see them rolling away from this without much issue.

  26. tired of shrimp? am s'posing such a thing is possible. admitted, am preferring monk fish in most recipes which call for shrimp, but such don't mean am disliking shrimp. our current ez goto recipe is chicken "curry" served over basmati rice and incorporating whatever veggies we got on hand. is maybe not traditional or authentic curry but our house smells like an indian restaurant during and after cooking, so am calling it curry. sear chicken thighs in olive oil in a dutch oven 'cause we have olive oil. remove thighs and then add a simple veg base o' food processor'd onion, fresh ginger and garlic to the hot pot and scrape up the chicken fond. am using all pre ground spices (sue us) a bit o' tomato puree and coconut milk or heavy cream which is added to the pot in that order. we let the spices bloom even if they is pre ground. am returning our now diced chicken and chicken liquid to the pot plus whatever veggies we gut and then cook on medium and covered for 4ish minutes... or however long the veggies and chicken require. we plate up the curry over rice and top with cilantro and a squeeze o' lime juice. am adding salt in smaller amounts at multiple steps which decreases the likelihood we oversalt. total time for prep and cook is 'bout twenty minutes. 'tween caring for the unwell dog, plus our sprained knee and the busted rib we acquired a couple weeks past, twenty minutes is kinda pushing the envelope on the time am willing to devote to cooking. HA! Good Fun!

  27. You can't, if it's from your class. So an evoker can't steal the wizard version of CW. But they can steal priest versions of restricted spells. Of course, you lose the PL scaling when you do this, so it's not exactly OP.

  29. This would require rising their Burn AR to be higher than their Pierce AR. Could be both ------ Combining the suggestions made in this thread, I am inclined to make the following changes: remove elemental-weapon keywords that were added in CP.Keywords 2.0 give weapons that already have an elemental KW, phys/elem damage type as proposed by Noqn (and lower their PEN, if they had only 1 damage type before that) remove creature immunities vs elem keywords. And adjust their elem AR / immunity vs damage type accordingly. Thoughts?

  30. Realize it's SM1, SO1 is WC2 But finally done it, those last few missions were hell. The mission where you have to defend the Tiger's Claw were suffering due to the game chugging to the point my joystick trigger wouldn't result in anything happening. Funny enough I beat the mission, the TC starts rendering oddly when I tried to dock and then Iceman bought it colliding with the TC.

  32. I would do printinstance oei_hovered over some juicy chests or stashes as I played my last game. Just updated the list by the way as I moved from map to map via the loadlevel command followed by the AR_LEVELNAME which is findable via the Deadfire wiki

  33. After some more testing utilising the power of Apotheosis here are some fresh insights: Adding the Adventurer's GUID (this will be in brackets of the .character file of an exported Adventurer) to the CompanionGuidString of CompanionData seems to stop the Adventurer from being exported again. Adding progression tables to the linked CompanionData of an Adventurer, and using a script that does RemoveFromParty and then AddToParty opens the class selection menu allowing you to change their class in the same way as a sidekick/companion. By making additions to relevant .conversationbundles, an Adventurer can have party banter and comment on points of interest pretty seamlessly. While Companions will react and track their relationship to an Adventurer, reaction to topics and tracking of relationships isn't functional on the Adventurer's side for some reason. Quest creation is possible with Apotheosis, and while I haven't figured out all the aspects of it, quests that involve an Adventurer can be done. The following video of an adventurer based on Durance shows some examples of the above: Class and Quest Pop-up 3:45 and Companion banter at 4:15. Still can't figure out a way to get character to face each other during a staring contest conversation.

  34. Seems important to be able to determine which stringtable ranges are newly assigned I was able to create a null ItemMod debugname somehow. Thought I typed in the name but regardless, having no debugname was apparently allowed in the editor but once I tried to reopen the editor and load my mod, it rejected it for the empty debugname. All the error checks on loading mods are very impressive!

  36. Where is the short list of features? I'm confused if it can add new recipes, items, etc. and couldn't easily find a way to do it on the program. Now that I read the Usage document I'm guessing I can right click on the top row of the items.gamedatabundle file to add something. Something you may want to keep in mind is that non-coders aren't used to the github presentation style, so I had to remember to look in the Gitlab page's docs folder for the instructions, which are usually in the readme or included with the executable archive (I'm using Linux btw). Normally I think what would be the folders in the Gitlab page is just files of programming code. The average person, I believe, would just look at the links in the readme file and then be confused if something's not shown in the video, such as how to make new recipes. Also it would be killer to have something like a "creation guide" that helps you create an item or ability step-by-step, tracking the links between objects and files in the Item->ItemMod->Ability->Attack->StatusEffect you create. That problem, along with Visual Effects compatibility, and Enchantment Recipes are what cost the most time for me and are so confusing/frustrating for beginners. Pillars 2 is going to be awesome in the next few years!

  37. Hey @Noqn , hope you are enjoying some time off for the holidays if you got it! Would it be possible for you to make Apotheosis generate a conversation.manfest entry for new conversations on their creation? This is something I've been creating manually, and despite it being crucial for conversations to function, surprisingly it's something I always tend to forget to do! So having it be generated automatically would be great.

  38. I found that they actually have an ability that gives the whole party the +2 to every stats from Berath's Blessing just unimplemented, the issue is that when I try to use it, it works fine for every companion, but for some reason the Watcher gets the effect twice making you have +4 on every stat and I have no idea why. Anyone tried to mess around with it? It's called "Berath_ChampionStats_Party" on abilities.gamedatabundle if anyone wants to check, while the current player only ability is called "Berath_ChampionStats_Player".
