I'm playing Grim Dawn again. At this point most of you are already aware that the game is awesome. This time around I'm running a Purifier, guns akimbo style. I've mainly been investing in Inquisitor and have only dipped into Demolitionist to get Fire Strike to replace my default attack. My attack speed is already ludicrous and it's only going to get more ludicrous.3 points

keep in mind you may do blightmaw after your mythic powerup. is noting which prevents you from coming back to blightmaw as long as it is before your final act ii drezen confrontation. speaking o' shenanigans, the demonslayer level needs come after levels o' sacred huntsmaster. why? 'cause choosing demonslayer first removes demons from your list o' favored enemies for sacred hunstmaster. 1 level o' demonslayer after sacred huntsmaster means you get +8 v. 1 category o' demons and +4 v. the other two categories. unfortunate, while demonslayer favoured enemy bonus does stack with sacred huntsmaster, it effective halts your sacred huntsmaster favoured enemy demons progress. why? why does taking demonslayer early prevent sacred huntsmaster progression o' favoured enemies? 'cause. HA! Good Fun!2 points

I think that Netflix's constant cancelations is doing more damage to their brand than anything. Why would I bother getting invested in any show they put out when it's almost certainly going to end incomplete because the algorithm was displeased it didn't do Stranger Things numbers? Most Netflix films haven't been particularly memorable so that leaves us with limited series like Midnight Mass or Maniac, which are good but much less frequent than series with at least a few expected seasons. Netflix is lucky that HBO self-immolated to give reality tv man a tax write off (to make Real 1000 Pound Housewifes of Montana), because otherwise they would be the worst streaming service out there. Anyways, moar Twin Peaks rewatching. I can't remember what episode I left off at, probably either 7 or 8. It's amazing.2 points

Little bit more news about Makiivka incident. There is one russian/separatist milblogger on Telegram, who claims, that he has contacts to Separatist army, which were on site after the explosion, and were documenting the damage and casualties, and also some families of deceased Russian mobiks from Saratov, which were on site during the explosion. He posted on his Telegram, that based on his sources, the number of casualties is indeed 600+. He also mentioned, that according to the relatives of deceased mobiks, some of them have spoken with them few hours before the explosion over the phone, and they have said, that approx 5 hours before the strike, the local command had suspicion about possible attack to their "barracks", so they tried to contact High Command, what to do. As the High Command did not respond, they have decided to do nothing and stayed at the site. We all know, how that decision played out. The source is from this video, he shows screenshots of the Telegram post on his video, and talks few minutes about the history of the blogger and his recent post. Unfortunately I am not on Telegram, so I was not able to doublecheck it. So as always, take it with a little pinch of salt. Also, a video of how New Year was celebrated in Russia in big cities. Allegedly up to 2000 people who celebrated New Year in St. Petersburg, were detained by force and taken away. All of them were men. Allegedly the same happened in Moscow as well.2 points

Man, I don't like the show, but that's ridiculous. It is folly to ever get attached to any Netflix show ever: always assume there won't be a second season.2 points

no, not better than lann. rare does anybody on these boards go pure archer, but a lann zenn archer with a shortbow is an absolute monster and outpaces pretty much any other ranged companion. however, is a few builds with arueshalae and lan multiclass builds which is arguable superior in terms o' what they add to a party, but while a zen archer is front loaded with many benefits coming in the first three levels, a shortbow wielding lann zen archer gets extra attacks and damage other combos will have difficulty reaching, and chances are they only match vanilla zen archer lann very late in the game. don't feel as if you are any kinda underpowered keeping lann as a vanilla zen archer, but perhaps counter-intuitive, do switch to shortbow if you have chosen longbow. zenn archers do monk unarmed damage with a shortbow and this increases with the various size bonuses you will no doubt enjoy. HA! Good Fun!1 point

@Space KP, Baby @Sarex well... yeah, one can make pretty decent builds all around with mercenaries. Shamans are a pretty good class actually, when they don't come with the caveat of tolerating Bruno's soulmate. Edit: evil nerfs have made a huge chunk of damage coming out of my favorite mercenary cheese build go the way of the dodo, but Brown-Fur Transmuters still have their place. Geniekind/Barrage might no longer work, but enlarging horsies and riders is still fun. As are pets turned into dragons. Bunch of other fun stuff you can do too.1 point

Stop posting so much signature bait. I too am something of a dumbass and I haven't read much Arthurian legends so I wouldn't pick up on that. Visually I loved the film and can't praise that enough, that alone really elevates it. But in some ways that adds to the disappointment for me, if it had looked average or bad I'd just write it off, but looking and sounding as good as it did with very good performances yet still missing the mark for me is disappointing.1 point

To be fair, you have to do some metagaming to unlock all paths because they have some pretty conflicting triggers in terms of roleplaying. With the Azata you missed another conflict with Hulrun where he takes a break from guarding his hole to try torturing a college student instead of fight the demons or undead taking over the market square. And some Azatas singing you a song.1 point

I'm not smrt either. But I've read a good bit (not nearly enough) about symbolism in Arthurian stories, so I guess I just connected more to it. It was probably my favorite film of 2021. Bought A24's limited edition release of Green Knight to get the director's short film "Oak Thorn & The Old Rose Of Love", an adaption of another Arthurian tale and a good companion for TGK, IMO. I confirm the +10 ACC, a +50% DMG and a +2.5 PEN to Cape of the Falling Star is from BPM. It comes from scaling at character level 20. I confirm the +10 ACC, a +50% DMG and a +2.5 PEN to Apex Ward is from BPM and is 100% intentional and is supposed to be exactly the same bonus as Cape of the Falling Star. What happens exactly is listed as a warning about BPM scaling : Warnings : - If several items from the following lists are equipped simultanneously, the bonus above will appear as being applied by the first one. However, all the equipped items of the following lists will benefit from it, so this is only a change in the combat logs. You can unequip them and equip them in a different order, you will see Apex giving its bonus to the Cape this time. It works like this because implementing different scaling effects would have been horribly more tedious (and the scaling implementation was already quite tedious to implement and test...). All in all, you're legitimately happy about this. Hard Counter damages would be only 7 PEN without this change. There is a reason why I added scaling to all items passive attacks.1 point

I don't ignore them. The man annoyed me so much I took the silly little cat. At least my Knight Commander wasn't a lady, or she'd have to punish him for sexual harassment. You can get her and do her full arc too afaik, early recruitment is mostly a treat for Azatas. Spoilers for several things story related1 point

Yes, better than Lann and you should be sad for doing Arue-chan dirty. Later game he can probably get better theoretical damage than her, but he suffers from a lack of accuracy bonus to his attacks. Perfect strike is good, but it's much more limited than instant enemy is and without that he is going to struggle against higher level enemies. It's probably ok on normal though. Should add a disclaimer that this assumes a straightforward Zen Archer build for Lann. You could go Mutation Warrior for the rest of his levels and come out with very good accuracy, or do something crazy like make him a Cleric. Lann has a lot more versatility in the vanilla game because he starts at level 1 while Arueshalae starts much higher. I'd also say that Wenduag is a better archer than Lann too, but I like to respec her to a Mutation Warrior because it's better than the plain Fighter and feels like it fits her in terms of lore.1 point

Arue is also a better archer than Lann or Wenduag.....in addition to being the most blatant waifu bait I have ever seen. The moon motif makes me think of the Sailor Moon theme to boot. Camellia is helpful, is she not?1 point

something i discovered with my last run, which was using Effort + Avenging Storm at times. Pollen Patch is weird. It triggers the inspiration bonuses of Ring of Clenched Muscle (10% chance when hit with a weapon to get an inspiration). I swear I didn't have Effort equipped at the time, which is the main way I would trigger fake weapon attacks, so the periodic healing effect on yourself must count as a weapon attack each time. It also meant that when I would empower Pollen Patch with my least unstable coil, i'd frequently get a jumble of Tier 1 and Tier 3 inspirations (though the Tier 3 ones would override the Tier 1 if they were the same). I wonder if you could trigger other "hit by a weapon" effects with Pollen Patch?1 point

necro-ing this thread to just suggest two all-purpose non-interactive ways to take out dorudugan. (by non-interactive i mean, you could probably do these on a potato machine) first: gouging strike. requires: a rogue of any kind, wiht gouging strike. potion of invisibility or one of the rogue's invisibility abilities. 1. stealth party (if not solo). 2. sneak rogue to dorudugan and whack them with gouging strike (reloading if you whiff). use potion of invisibilty or invisibility to sneak back to party and de-aggro dorudugan. you should stay in combat. dorudugan will die eventually. go watch an episode of your favorite TV show. second: invulnerable party (may require berath's challenge) requires 1 priest (of any type, so xoti or vatnir) with salvation of time and barring death's door, and the weyc's robe fully upgraded (not on the priest), and a potion of invisibility. 1. create an AI script for your priest that casts salvation of time whenever they have an intellect inspiration, maximizing the number of allies targeted, and with 1 second cooldown (i sometimes have bugs with a 0 second cooldown) 2. disable all AI when you enter dorudugan's map. 3. stealth everyone. 4. put the potion of invisibility on someone. 5. have that person sneak towards dorudugan while everyone hugs the edge of the map where you entered. 6. aggro dorudugan with that someone, and immediately drink the potion and run back to party to de-aggro. 7. have the person with weyc's robe get surrounded by the rest of your party (esp the priest) and empower an ability to activate brilliant. 8. manually spam salvation of time (the AI script won't work if dorudugan is de-aggro-ed). after you get brilliant to ~30 seconds, start buffing your party with barring death's door one at a time, with salvation of time to extend, and only doing another barring death's door on another party member once you get up to ~30s. keep spamming salvation of time until you have >100s on everyone for good measure. hopefully a potato machine can handle this level of activity, dorudugan just sits there doing nothing while you do some very low-intensity spell effects every few seconds. 9. enable AI, run in, and just auto-attack dorudugan. make sure your salvation of time script is active and everyone is near enough to get buffed by it. go watch an episode of something.1 point

Apocalypse seems to have aged the worst out of the originals. It would be interesting to see a modern version of Xcom 3, with the futuristic setting. Although I also would be happy to see TFTD. Firaxis has already done a spinoff, so I would think they could do a deep sea one. Speaking of the classics, I think Xenonauts 2 is close to open beta. The game is already very solid in alpha.1 point

Hello everyone... ok so as far as I know most of us have played D&D or AD&D in on3e form or another... and I got to thinking.... Now that we are in 2019 and stuff and we have voice IP with onoline... we have dice rolling apps, we have mobile devices, we have you know everything there's more than a few ways to play D&D... P{eople have been arguing close to me recently about it a bit and it's like... the old method is agreed upon I think, everyone meets at someone's actual house... and then we sit around a table and / or couch or situation with a bunch of books and it is 100% pure pen and paper.... Now w however, it's exploring the new possibilities, we s could use a combination of the above... for example a DM uses pen and paper.... but the others are using applications... and there's different applications... there's roll 20 there's a few other ones I've seen now.... and youc o could compare those..... The one thing I feel strongly about is editions , I really think that 2e is the one that is the most hardcore... and that means it feels the most rigid and has a lot of crazy possibilities... whereas 3.5E is in between and 5e is the most adccessible basically. But yeah so I don't know what do people think... should it be like the old way... for communication, or can te h technology improve the way people play D&D are you still getting the pure experience etc?1 point

Just a few experiences: Ghost Heart/Ascendant can be very good - also bc. of the highest accuracy a class combo can get on its own. It is very good with Frostseeker for example. Builds focus very quickly and procs the AoE of Frostseeker all the time bc. of high ACC and Driving Flight. The AoE also generates focus. No fuss with the Animal Companion but can summon it behind enemies and then use it with stuff like Ect. Echo for example. --- Arcane Archer/Troubadour is also very good, especially an Arcane Archer with high Arcana using Spearcaster (unique arbalest). Sure-Handed Ila applies to reloading weapons such as Arbalests twice (so 2* -20% reloading time) which combined with Gunner and some reloading gear (like Acina's Tricorn and Sharpshooter's Garb + penelty-reducing pet such as Abraham) leads to awesome shooting speed with very high accuracy. You can actually use the arbalest modal to chain-prone even the tough singular enemies which takes them basically out of the fight. On top of that you have lots of useful invocations, Aefyllath adds damage to your shots and the Imbued Shots Pull of Eora and Binding Web are very useful with Driving Flight, delivering double CC fields with high speed and a ton of accuracy. --- Arcane Archer/Paladin - a very versatile character with high accuracy (epecially with Accurate Wounding Shot and Flames of Devotion in combo with the Ring of Focused Flame). Flames of Devotion counts as elemental attack so it doesn'r get the -5 ACC an Arcane Archer gets with "normal", non-elemental and non-imbued shots. Can heal, support, deal damage, do great CC, is sturdier than the usual ranged char. Can heal and revive his animal companion. Spearcaster is good, but any reloading weapon is good. --- Troubadour/Streetfighter with the Red Hand is a devastating shooter once you pick up the upgrades Whisp summons. With them you can distract yourself which stacks Sure-Handed Ila (2* -20% reloading) + Aefyllath (+15% burning lash) + Heating up (-50% reloading, extra Sneak Attack dmg). Also the summons help with crowd control of course. They last long enough that you can use another invocation in between most of times. With the Red Hand you can already shoot twice before reloading - and with the combined reloading bonuses the reloading action is incredibly short. As close as one can get to a machine gun imo. Great char for hunting enemy casters for example. No ranger here of course. --- Single Class Helwalker or Nalpasca with dual mortars from Serafen (Fire in the Hole, Hand Mortar). It's great early on bc. of Stunning Shots/Surge but literally explodes once you get Resonant Touch and Whispers of the Wind. Makes most late game encounters with lots of enemies trivial. Also nice with Watershaper's Focus (+Blast) instead of mortars. --- If you have a Chanter in the party who wants to use the Invocation "Many Lives Pass By" and also uses the skeleton summons a lot and/or if you have a party with lots of summons use in general: Single Class Kind Wayfarer with dual pistols (Eccea's Arcane Blaster + Scordeo's Trophy). Ring of Focused Flame, all the shooting gear, Two Weapon Style and so on. Fast shooting in general with good accuracy. Take all the exhortations and upgrades (in a manner so that there is no overlap with the inspirations), Shared Flames, Lay on Hands... it will be a nice character for roleplaying purposes and will deliver nice healing, support and single target damage - and truly unlocks its great potential once you pick "Devine Retribution": it will give you +2 Zeal every time an ally goes down - and even summons count. So every time a summon in your party gets killes you get +2 Zeal. If you have an endless supply of summons (see Chanter or Monk) this will turn your Paladin from a limited-resource class into a class with refreshing (overflowing) resources. You will drown on Zeal which you can spend to spam FoD (+Whit Flames), constantly healing your party while damaging foes, cast all the exortations in seconds (they are instacasts and expensive - doesn't matter if your Zeal comes back all the time), revive your party's Animal Companions endlessly without drawback, put Brand Enemy on every enemy in seconds and whatnot. It's very useful in the later game but of course it's real trick only comes online very late. I still found it very enjoyable because it doesn't suck before and it was its own fun to work towards that goal to unlock Devine Retribution.1 point

Yup, according to Ukrainian warreporters, biggest hit so far. I have linked about this hit tonight, few posts above, but unfortunately Safari does not work anymore with Obsidian boards, so unfortunately I was not able to write any context there. Anyway, Russian sources claim 600+ dead service men, and are complaining, about the idiocy of the commander, who put 600+ servicemen on top of ammunition pile during Putin's speech. Ukrainian sources on the other way, would like to see this commandant promoted to General Girkin has already shared his thoughts about the incident as well.1 point

Man, thanks for all the kind words. But yeah, these past few months have been crazy. People are now resorting to hit and run tactics. Stab a security guard to death and run away... Of course, the government caught up with two of them and executed them. The current government ain't gonna last till spring though. I think in about a month or so they(probably Israel or the U.S) are gonna declare a 'no fly zone' over Iran...that's when things will get interesting because a lot of the officials where booking flights for Venezuela. Heads will start rolling on the streets in a few weeks, hopefully not mine... I check the boards every three weeks or so, so don't feel worried if you get delayed replies folks. It's just that there is so much to do and to know right now, message boards aren't exactly a priority but you folks know how much I love you. Also, what's up with Guard Dog? Whatever it is I hope he is still in one piece. Once this whole mess is over with the Islamic Republic of Iran, I will invite all of you folks to my place for some nice homemade beer. Cheers.1 point

Several things probably known to many already, but just for the sake of being exhaustive: I just discovered that Gilded Enmity and Ironskin are even better than I thought: they will literally only break after respectively 5 and 10 Hits. Grazes are not considered and count the same as Misses. This is very good in conjunction with a high defenses build - your armor bonus can virtually last forever even if you keep getting Grazed. However, incoming Hits that are Resisted (e.g. via Medium Shield modal or Uncanny Luck) will still register as Hits. In other words if you resist 10 Hits, you will still lose Ironskin (on the 11th Hit). As stated earlier in this thread, Gilded Enmity is still pretty nice even for an Arcane Knight, because it can be cast out of combat if there is a destructible item around, like a barrel, and the AR bonus will last indefinitely until hit 5 times in your next encounter or until this next encounter ends, which is very good particularly in the early game (Beach Cave and Dig Site). On the flip side, Wizard's Double is not as good as I thought before actually testing it thoroughly, because it will disappear if any incoming attack reaches you (not only Hits targeting Deflection but any non-Miss targeting any defense like Fortitude, Reflex and Will). So in practice, unless you can make sure that all your defenses give a net -76 malus versus the highest enemy Accuracy, you will still have a chance of losing the buff - and even if you're virtually untouchable, you can still face a lot of autohit abilities, Fighters with Confident Aim, etc. Wizard's Double can still be useful in combination with Mirrored Images or Arcane Veil, to respectively get more longevity from Mirrored Image or as a backup against veil piercing attacks... if you can spare the Tier 1 cast. But personally I would rather always cast Chill Fog or Slicken instead.1 point

Just finished my ultimate run. Nearly wiped in Ukaizo of all places because I forgot about the auto-rest and rushed into battle, quickly got smacked with some nasty debuffs and injuries, etc. Lost my resolve inspiration despite wearing Cap of the Laughingstock + Mirror Image up, also... Will be a while before youtube finishes processing the videos. Also don't know if anyone cares about ultimate runs anymore, but I just recently got into this game and I wanted to do it and I did it.1 point

With the ability to travel up ziplines, ziplines have become much more universal in traversing the map. Sending stems/planks down ziplines has always made it it much easier to transport materials around the yard. However, we currently have no way of moving materials up. So my idea is this: A pulley system utilizing a similar spinning wheel and power of aphids as the new zipp.r, but designed specifically to transport materials vertically. I imagine it as acorn tops being used as the "cog wheels" at the top and bottom with silk rope acting as a sort of belt wrapped around both cogs. An aphid will standby, and hop onto another spinning cog attached to the bottom wheel to power the contraption when stems/planks are attached to the line, allowing the belt to lift the items upwards from point A to point B.1 point

Hey I found a solution TODAY for this issue. You need to go into windows "Credential Manager" - then click on the Windows Credentials tab. Scroll down to the line Xbl_Ticket *random numbers* Delete all these. They will automatically redownload when needed. This resets the game's login. Now, this part here was the step I was having issues figuring out. Create a new microsoft account under a different email. Use that one to log in. Then once the game logs you in, sign out, and try logging in with the main account. Make sure to manually enter the info, don't use the saved one. This did the trick for me. Hope it helps!1 point

You need to do it under 60 days or something like that, open and not destroy the gates in Drezen. Don't know if there is anything else. Russian literature and all that. It's Seelah. She is a Fighter/Tower Shield Specialist, I wanna see if I can get the tower shield/bastard sword crit heal to work on her. My main Paladin I tweaked a little to dual wield. I would have still needed to rest I think as I was pretty spent by that point. She is a Paladin when normal. Usually I pick the Lawful option for the main quest as it's usually not too bad there and then do other stuff for the side content. Will see how my tower shield tank works out in the later acts, pretty much depends on that. I was using him with a shortbow until somewhere in Drezen and you are right, he is much better with a shortbow.0 points

Space Dandy 6 Dandy goes to a planet where wearing underwear can get you killed. Also: space surfing, baby! Space Dandy 7 Wacky Races, the anime version.
