The Wild Mind subclass is hard to play because of the lack of control Seraphen have with their effects. But some effects, like 100% chance to echo (cipher's spells only), or +5 cipher PL, are really advantageous, and they are listed as beneficial effects (3s base for each). Out of fight, they also trigger (with Ectopsychic Echo repeatedly for example) and can be extented with SoF. In fight, with SoT, but carrefuly because the the Invisibilty on hit is also a beneficial effect. In this screenshot below, my Wild Mind (not Seraphen) Cipher have some effects prolonged with a priest during a fight. Other possibility with Seraphen is to confuse him out of fight (Fugue Spore with Calmo Curse is the technic I use) then cast with him some hostile spells on allies, to trigger on them all the tiers-3 inspirations and extend them with SoF. That is also possible without confused with Psychovampiric Shield on ally or self. That can take a bit of time, but it is a good and cheesy use of Seraphen .2 points

Discussion of anime should stay strictly quarantined to the anime thread, as per the authorities; I believe it is you who has been naughty, . ...What if I have a problem with a quote in your signature that isn't of something that I wrote? Okay, good: I thought you'd taken complete leave of your senses.2 points

@Amentep Yeah, I remember liking the second part/episode a lot more than the first, motorcycles flying out of the helicopter notwithstanding. Seamless, . Somehow, I get the feeling that I might not so appreciate the supposed "rich and interesting friendships" element from a 2022 fantasy isekai anime with a male protagonist(s?), particularly one where just looking at the art style and how scenes are framed makes me want to tear out my eyeballs, . Luckily, I don't have an issue with any of the things you've put of me in your signature. I think majestic currently has a pretty raw deal in comparison.2 points

is just our experience, but am personal finding hedge knights is gonna be a better option for dealing damage, but hellknights tank exceeding well and do reliable damage. we like to have both hell knights and hedge knights. hedge knights is guaranteed to replenish weekly and with stables in most outposts you will develop overwhelming numbers kinda quick. a large stack o' clerics provides considerable heals and they are also a durable unit, though am suspecting if you only have a handful they is gonna wilt quick. based on recollection, the cleric heals is powerxd6xunit number, which means you need serious numbers to see results. if your general is healing archers, then he/she ain't doing damage, and even then, is possible you got multiple units requiring heals. cleric heals also do not reduce general energy, but you need a goodly stack to make an impact. clerics is hardly necessary. have skipped clerics as often as not. 'course have also skipped hellknights, but they got resistance to mind effects and their chaos smite ability means they hit many critters with damage resistance. if you feel you got an either/or proposition with clerics and hellknights, then am thinking hellknights is not a wrong choice. is a few obvious bad choices, but more hellknights is not one such. @InsaneCommander am not certain, but am thinking greybor's upgrade (hedge knights?) doesn't happen in his absence. am knowing we got mounted scouts kinda late in act iii for a couple o' our past characters. nevertheless, we got the footmen and archer upgrades early, and those made a big difference in our overall effectiveness. delay all decrees 'til you finished the dragon hunt were likely unnecessary and maybe kneecapped your own army a smidge as well as putting on hold a whole bunch o' decrees which woulda' boosted your crusade. no biggie. if you killed the dragon, then just move forward and try to get as much done as possible... and don't forget monuments... add as many monuments as possible once that option becomes available. crusade morale and combat morale stack, so add every combat morale option via decrees and whatnot 'cause high morale is gonna mean 2x actions for a unit. HA! Good Fun!2 points

Whether these numbers are precisely accurate or not, it appears that the Kharkiv offensive indeed was a huge blow for Russia.2 points

Really, all the details are immaterial: Anomen cannot be in the party because he is Anomen. Anomen is Anomen is Anomen, and that's just not acceptable. You see him in the Copper Coronet, he calls out "fair lady" to you as you walk by, you throw his corpse into the dumpster, and then you go about your day. Seriously, I am not going to be called "fair lady" by that smarmy stupid voice and let it go unpunished, it's just not happening.1 point

I was intoxicated and running on 4 hours of sleep. I dunno, the only only solid rec I have for you is the 90's Berserk and you haven't got around to that yet.1 point
-
Well, you will at least relate to this scene, not that anyone is really losing their eyes literally. Edit: I was googling some gifs and look who I finally found:1 point
-
Anomen has more hit points and more attacks per round. Anomen makes the combat in the game less annoying. Viconia doesn't. Case closed, discussion over. When was the last time you really needed those extra spells from a high wisdom score? Besides, the difference between 16 and 18 WIS is negligible. The solution is to take Jaheira and leave the clerics where they belong, in the trash bin, along with Cernd that human wasteland of a character.1 point

Meanwhile, you two weeks ago addressed directly to me: Would you care to revise your statements, tepid in nature or not?1 point

Viconia has 18 wisdom compared to Anomen's 12 (or 16 if he passed the knighthood quest): give me them bonus spellcasting slots and I'll give her a girdle of strength.1 point

I looked it up on some fandom page: Haer'Dalis was originally meant to be romancable in Baldur's Gate II, but the romance was cut because of time constraints. David Gaider has confirmed him as bi-/pansexual, and he is selectable to hire a male drow prostitute in the Underdark. [citation needed] Valygar was also meant to be romance option for females. Suna Seni is also involved in his romance. During development of Throne of Bhaal, David Gaider wanted to add this romance but couldn't due to time constraints.1 point

Yeah, the first episode has that - Its Mr. Klepto and his grandaughter who own the car (the rest of the family doesn't matter to the story) Racer X has a repeatedly goofy expression - The henchmen is a giant brick Trixie goes in disquise - Spritle and Chim-Chim rampage Pops has to be reminded he used to be a wrestler - And the villain attempts a getaway by driving over a lake that Speed Racer goes underwater to follow him with no explanation.1 point

we hate to be that guy. nudity in code is a legal definition as 'posed to dictionary. public nudity is described in code by means o' all too often dated, comical, and crude language including mentions o' "pubic hair" and similar. the thing is, in the edited video you likely don't see where cops no doubt inform the young lady how exposed "buttocks" is enough to satisfy public nudity laws in the carolinas, portions o' the south excluding most o' florida, as well as much o' the heartland. just 'cause you know what nude means don't result in you being correct 'bout definitions o' nudity in law. ... some o' us praise democracy when it results in statues memorializing civil war icons being taken down in tennessee and alabama. if The People finally recognize that statues erected purposeful during the 1920s and civil rights era as part o' a concerted and intentional effort to degrade and demoralize black populations should be removed as prominent public displays, then such is democracy working as designed, no? unfortunately we don't like democracy near as much when it leads to books 'bout transgender youth being removed from local libraries 'cause the undereducated and angry majorities in backwaters has been convinced by skeevy politicians that all that gay sh!t is a threat to real american values. democracy is not inherent wise or smart. democracy is one more than 50/50 deciding what is gonna be best for everybody... and with representative democracy is possible for a minority to functional be deciding what is best for the majority. regardless, "nude" don't necessarily mean what the young lady believes it means. "nude" has whatever meaning The People decided it should mean, 'cause like it or not, that is how democracy works. HA! Good Fun!1 point

I play with animations off, which brings its own set of issues - namely having to read the event log to figure out what I just lost. But at least I'd be able to execute a single war in one session that way.1 point

Is that the one with the old dude and his daughter...and the million or so motorcyclists who just come pouring out of a flying helicopter right at the end? If it's the one I'm thinking of, I'm pretty sure that's the episode that broke me, but in an unexpected way: I thought the episode was largely ho-hum, but all the motorcyclists dropping out of the sky and bouncing off mountains and stuff was so mind-breakingly absurd that I just started laughing maniacally for the rest of the episode and for some minutes after it had ended. That was kind of the beauty of Speed Racer for me: the goofy weird stuff that it (and no other show) would do had the effect of befuddling and amusing me into enjoying it in a way that few other shows could.1 point

As someone who now exclusively plays thieves, I'm glad current me can measure up to ten year-old you in terms of skill. As for ten year-old me, I distinctly remember playing Civ1 where I thought that not only was it a good idea to place cities directly adjacent to each other, but that the logic of doing so could be extended further to place a square of 2x2 cities in as many tiles, or indeed 3x2. I distinctly remember doing this as France on the official Earth scenario map and sending a trickle of Musketeers down to Africa to veeeeery slowly defeat Shaka. Bear in mind Musketeers in that game have a amazing ...2 points in Attack, ahead of only the Militia that you start the game with. Sid mercifully added a restriction in the sequel to disallow this particular urban arrangement. The reveal will be that they're a party of adventurers hired to escort an idiot NPC on behalf of a rich relative and they begrudgingly put up with you for the money, unbeknownst to you.1 point

Yes. To be fair, my sense of humor is offbeat enough where even the most innocuous things have comedic undertones. I hate to do this to you, I really do, but you've essentially described the setup for Uncle from Another World.1 point

Speed Racer - The Secret Engine Speed tries to help an old guy whose Model T engine holds the secret to stolen money. An episode that again proves that little on earth can withstand a sustained attack from Spritle and Chim-Chim. Some funny animation moments as well (my favorite is the weird expression Racer X has on multiple times in the story). Pretty enjoyable.1 point

No, that's why I said they're better off that way: it'd be weird if they were supposed to be all lovey-dovey or whatever. The thought of Jaheira being anything but the grumpy old lady that she is seems pretty weird to me...but really, it all goes hand-in-hand with the last sentence of your second paragraph: I don't want to romance anyone at all. Player romances in video games are universally bad(?) - certainly BioWare ones are, at least. Always playing female protagonists* mercifully saved me here, I suppose. *Technically, I first played BG2 when I was like ten or so and initially selected a male protagonist...buuut I'm pretty sure Aerie joined my party and tried to romance me and I summarily threw her out of the party and that was that, . Wow. Haer'Dalis was the next option? Really? ...I'm not a girl, so my opinion on such things is eminently worthless, but...I mean, I guess he's better than the second worst option after Anomen, which would have to be stupid baby man Cernd. That creep gives druids a bad name. So at least it wasn't intended to be him, I suppose.1 point

Just a suggestion... play the game multiple times and try out both options. It does play a bit different during the middle part of the story. Also, no less than 3 romances for a guy character, there should be something to your liking there. Romances carry over to the dlc/expansion (Throne of Bhaal) iirc. Edit: As usual, the female gamers gets shafted badly by a single romance option, with a cringe worthy guy, who is as awful as any female romance option in any video game of that age (give or take ten years).1 point

No idea how to do that. I'll check the decrees next time I play. One way or another, I had cleared most of the demon armies on the map, there were only two left, but now a couple more appeared. I also finished Greybor's quest. I delayed the Council decrees until now to hire him first and I delayed his quest because I expected the dragon to be more of a challenge... They can help with healing and save some of the general's energy for other spells. I also had trouble keeping them alive until they formed a bigger stack.1 point

I plan to give the similar treatment to Thorny Roots : 3 raw damages per 3s for its immobilization duration (20s). That's 23 base raw damages, but rather slow. I feel that the 23 base damages that the base game adds to Binding Roots for a cost of a Tier 7 ability point (tier 7 is where it starts to be scarce) is a bit mediocre even if it's free additional damages. Also it allows Ranger to get a long time DoT on its own for Predatory Senses, which feels a bit missing in the design of the class.1 point
