If getting bombed to smithereens if enough to become a candidate member of EU, maybe half the Middle East and northern Africa should become candidates as well. It's not like they're ever be allowed in anyway.5 points

Hey I've liked the Obi Wan series so far. Yeah is has some plot holes and and few other story telling flaws but it's been good for me. I've really liked The Manadlorian. Haven't gotten into the Book of Boba Fett yet. When I've watched all these I'm cancelling Disney until the next season or series comes out. This is the way. I'd totally watch the heck out of this idea:3 points

Anyone who wants to kidnap you better been in Olympic level shape. If you can't out run them you'd out ride them. And if that didn't work you'd outswim them.3 points

We just started a Rogue Trader campaign, we were supposed to play tomorrow but our Navigator player has to work, so we're putting it off until next week when we all start our vacations. I'm really looking forward to not playing the rogue trader himself but a void master this time. Last campaign I had to run the RT and I didn't really get into the role until the later stages. We ran a fairly straight laced crew last time, but this time we're all playing pretty on the opposite spectrum, the navigator is a massively grotesque mutated monster, the rogue trader is a spoiled brat that just wants to have fun, and I'm some sort of genetic crossbreed ("False Man" background package), between an astartes and sororitas, if I had to guess by my ability scores. I managed to roll an average of 17 and some change on 9 2d10 attributes, it's kind of insane, anyway - totally clueless about human interactions, and very much outside of the imperial cult, though not in the typical "hail satan!!!" way. We just started though and got through the introductions and started to dip our toes into the Koronus expanse, basically doing a little errand before we start to get going properly. That said I really miss my Augmenticist RT, I was starting to have alot of fun just as the girlfriend of one of the players decided to squeeze out her first baby, so that got put on hold. I really want to play around with all my new toys, but that might be influenced by the fact that our new crews profit factor is abysmal compared to what we used to have. That said, this time around we have a pretty nice light cruiser to mess around with instead of a transporter!3 points

I feel a bit sad when thinking back to the 70's, for us kids/young teens, he was just a "B Movie Star", featuring in all those old vampire and horror movies. Only finding out the last ten years or so, what a rich history the guy has/had (special forces soldier, stage performer, Tolkien scholar, voice actor, singer etc.)2 points

I nearly had a crisis with my RDR2 modded sp game I have a mod that allows me to sell any weapons to unique vendors and I accidently sold my hunting knife. And do you know by design you cannot Skin any animal without your hunting knife and you cant buy another hunting knife at any vendor and to make things worse I couldnt find a way to spawn a hunting knife using any trainer mod Which meant I could no longer get animal fat which is a unique ingredient required in certain ammunition and throwable weapons So I accepted I could no longer participate in an important RP part of the game which is living off the land But then I killed some greedy Bounty Hunters tracking me and guess what ....one of them dropped a hunting knife !!! The Boys s3 1-5. It's very strange, the show goes very hard in a lot of ways that I'm surprised it was able to get made. Fecal matter in the eyeballs 7/10 5th best Star Wars2 points

There's nothing new about the build so I'd rather not waste everyone's time, though there're things I didn't quite expect before actually started. The Steel Garrote was an awful pick for me. More than half of the time I was casting or waiting for spell recovery, the healing from attacks is negligible while loosing an ability point to Garrote is huge, it's so replaceable by cipher spells. Survivability was better than I thought. I still got destroyed in a couple seconds in the first fight in The Bridge Ablaze several times, but after figuring out what to do with the starting focus and one gunshot I haven't used any consumable or empowerment for combat, which is one of the benchmarks needed for me to consider it at least legit for solo. I actually didn't need a strong melee weapon. In most cases I never had to switch out of Scordeo's Trophy + Kapana Taga combination, 2 hit for a Disintegration was good enough. Performance for boss fights are very polarized. Against "normal" bosses the inquisitor is extremely strong, always having an afflication for anyone that's not immune to everything and unlimited access to one of the best single target nuke trivialized every boss I fought so far. However megabosses have some extreme defenses, making the whole damage - focus - debuff circulation failing easily. Many legit martial builds can at least face-tank Auranic, however even trying Borrowed Instinct on phantom or bodyguards it was still too risky and difficult to keep a healthy hp. That said, paladin + cipher might be the best combo to cheese the megabosses. It's just a little bit disappointing. When facing the DLC enemies I still had to use Rekvu's Fractured Casque for some rogue heavy encounters, partly because I dumped RES again for smoother casting with high DEX. Hands of Light was another option, though having a long recovery and the limitation of Zeal made me give up the idea. I can't say it's totally unexpected but having the same problem as that awful melee mindstalker I played almost made me ragequit. At least the helmet did made those encounters very easy. In the end I also allowed myself to use Ringleader so I could continue to not use consumables.1 point

I found him pretty amusing for the first ~10 or so episodes because it seemed like just about literally every time he ever tried to do anything, everyone else would just summarily dump on him. But I definitely can agree that it's not the best, .1 point

Texhnolyze, up to episode seven. Seven episode into Utena I had an idea what was going on, but seven episodes into this much shorter series I'm still at a total loss, although with this seventh episode it seems like a die has been cast, and things will pick up from there. Heavy breathing 'protagonist boy' is sure grating my nerves a little though. My fault for reading spoilerish comments, I guess, but still, pretty interesting, all in all.1 point

I chose soul blade for the concentration. With casters I can't stand the slow recovery if I give up DEX, especially when lay on hands and borrowed instinct both have long recovery, unlike some other defensive abilities from fighters, wizards etc. Since I'm not using shields with this one even if I max RES there will still be constant hits in DLC areas, and cipher multi have so much bonus will from passives it can dump RES for more fortitude.1 point

I'm enjoying it too. Blame Picard. But it does have a lot of problems.1 point

"Space Marine physiology and equipment provides them with no countermeasures beyond that of a normal person for a steep incline of loose gravel. All these complex traps to defend the palace and all Dorn had to do was dig a steep trench around the outside wall and cover it in frictionless goo, watch Perturabos little siegemasters get baffled by the defensive equivalent of a slip n slide."1 point

I'm starting my 2nd playthrough of The Quarry. The primary goal is to save Abigail and Emma while keeping all the people I saved on my 1st playthrough alive again. If I manage that it will mean that all the camp counselors survived. Secondary goal is to find as many of the 8 tarot cards I missed as possible. Tertiary goal is to save as many of the Hacketts as possible. I don't think it's possible to save them all, but I'm sure that I can save more than what I did the first time around. After this playthtough I will skim through a guide to see if it's possible to save yet more characters. Spoiler side note:1 point

I'm totally fine with that. Orville right now is the Star Trek we want, but will never get again. Have to take it as much as we can get... especially since this is the last season.1 point

I think there was a video from paramedic in Mariupol posted here as well. She has been released few days ago from Russian captivity where she was since mid-March. https://t.me/ukrpravda_news/192371 point

I think it was you who said it is easier to ignore some problems in The Orville than in new trek. I totally agree. And yes, every episode has some elements seen in one or more ST episodes, sometimes the whole plot. I imagine Seth McFarlane has a long list of episodes he wants to do with his own take on the idea.1 point

I converted a mobile laptop table into a makeshift stand for my wheel: It works fine for the time being, I just wish I could slide the pedals further away, but the crossbar prevents that. I put a couple 13 lbs kettlebells on the legs to keep the table from tipping when I'm steering hard. Sometime in the future my plan is to get/make a dedicated schlongpit rig with a modular design where I can swap the wheel with my HOTAS flightstick. I went with Thrustmaster because I come from the flight/space sim world and Thrustmaster makes really high quality flightsticks. I don't know how good their reputation in the wheel & pedal world is, but I have no complaints so far. For an entry level wheel & pedal set the TMX Pro seems decent enough.1 point

possible the most fascinating aspect o' knorozov's translation efforts is that it likely were only possible 'cause o' the academic isolation o' the soviet union. for all intents and purposes, the book on the mayan language had been written, and the world's most respected academics had come to agreement that mayan were a pictograph language with each symbol representing a word or concept. there were a brit scholar (thomas? thompsen?) who were THE guy regarding the mayans and his conclusions and process were taught to all other western linguists. an academic dead-end were created by THE guy being wrong. soviet scholars didn't have the slavish devotion to thomas/thompsen and they didn't risk humiliation or loss o' tenure by publishing works with contradictory conclusions. am not certain what yuri's exposure to contemporary western scholarship amounted to, but were almost happenstance yuri's groundbreaking efforts were known in the west before the end o' the cold war, 'cause for the most part soviet academic publications were not translated and promoted beyond the iron curtain in the 1950s. that said, am thinking the quirky cat co-author stuff is a bit more amusing and likely more memorable. HA! Good Fun!1 point

And in the future it might not be 20s Microsoft anymore. I am not terribly worried about next couple years, but after that - who knows. What will Microsoft become once aggresive expansion ends and they will have to find a new way to increase income for investors?1 point
