  3. I don't think this is an EA project. Sony Interactive and Lucasfilm Games, rather. Though if you don't want to give Disney money, that works too.

  4. Yup, use @thelee's Gamefaqs guide. It is the most complete source you can find : Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Walkthrough & Guide - PC - By C.LE - GameFAQs (gamespot.com) Other than that, you can googlelize specific topics on this forum, there is an abondance of answers.

  5. I watched the whole show. Kira is a power hungry freak that goes beyond just killing bad people very early on. Pretty much an irredeemable bastard. Basically it ends up being a battle of wits between two socially maladjusted teenagers, one of whom has an imaginary friend. You probably won't like anyone and won't like the plot, so just drop it. Just liked. If it wasn't cgi it'd be really good, but too much uncanny valley. Speaking of uncanny..... Utena 33 the return of the clip show. Utena gets Akio'd. More importantly the shadow girls have a radio show. Edit: Utena 34-39 The End of Utena (and the World). Well that was not as weird as I thought, but still very much out there. Maybe I'll get around to writing something longer, but right now my opinion is that it is ok. Parts of it are good, but the middle arc drags it down way too much. Next is bubbles up like soda pop when I feel like watching a movie, then rewatching JoJo to get ready for Stone Ocean dropping in December.

  6. So I read this story on Facebook: And I mean, it's a nice story. The comments are gushy and say God Bless and all that. But I'm pretty sure that guy drove a ghost around for a couple hours. Like, I've read enough of these stories. He is going to find her sweater in the back of his car, and go back to the rest home, and find out she died 20 years ago.

  7. Yeah, even as someone who does not like Star Wars at all, I liked KoTOR and its successors well enough. Sure it was during the early days where going full 3D meant heavy compromises, but mechanically it was functional, and I liked the heavy focus on dialogue, as silly as the few canned lines of alien speech endlessly repeating was. Besides, it's not like we had any other option back then for a spiritual successor to the IE games - frankly I would have played whatever BioWare released regardless of the setting at the time.

  8. -----Preface----- Yes, indeed. It is another blunderbuss build (Not really, see the following). But this time, on Forbidden Fist. Forbidden Fist seeks Powder Burns, like ash seeks embers. When the self-inflicted Distracted expires, Forbidden Fist heals and Wounds generated. Only, in truth... this attack rotation makes Forbidden Fist invulnerable and impervious. And so it is, Forbidden Fist will conquer and the Deadfire will tremble... <Deck Salts III> -----Part 1 : Build Base----- Version: 5.0 Build Name: Destitute is Virtue Description: This build relies heavily on the Forbidden Fist (the ability). By pushing your Resolve (and thus your hostile effect duration reduction) to the threshold, each Powder Burns attack heals up to 50 hp and Forbidden Fist becomes spammable. So you can keep stunning/interrupting/enfeebling enemies while retaining self-rejuvenating ability. Class: Wanderer (Forbidden Fist + Ghost Heart) Forbidden Fist is our foundation. Ghost Heart will make some boss fights much more easier (especially Hauani O Whe and Belranga, see the bosses part for details). Also, your ghost companion can be used as decoy to separate enemies or help you safely retreat and de-aggro. However... you will lose Resonant Touch, making this build almost impotent to Dorudugan (Actually you can deal with Dorudugan by exploiting some Hunter's Claw glitches, I wont argue if you call it a failure). Anyway, apart from Dorudugan, you are the true God of Eora, you can simply AI Script almost every other fight. Race: Human or Hearth Orlan Background: Ixamitl Plains Difficulty: Triple Crown Well, initially i was planning for a single class Forbidden Fist Ultimate run, but Vela the All Mighty kept crushing me because of the shortage of Withdraw scrolls. So, when i finally realized that the Ultimate was too much for a noob like me, i lowered the difficulty and picked up blunderbusses. Darn it, another bitter failure... Solo: Yes You wont get Fire in the Hole if play on solo under Magran's Fires. For Hand Mortar however, it is an... ethical problem. I didnt do it, really... 15 Required Bosses: Partially Yes This build is viable for...emm.. 0.01 Dorudugan and all other 14 (see the bosses part for details)...without Galawain's Challenge PoE1 Set Up: Sorry, but you need to sacrifice either Pallegina or Grieving Mother (preferable Pallegina). I apologize if it makes you feel uncomfortable Stats: MIG: Preferable max, healing and dmg bonus all together are so good for this build. CON: Low to mediocre. You need to face tank lots of Fortitude attacks. DEX: Mediocre (see Part 4 for details). PER: Preferable max. You need crits to boost penetration and dmg. INT: Low to mediocre (see Part 4 for details). RES: MAX and stack it to 35 (see Part 4 for details). (18 Base + 1 Race +1 Ixamitl Plains + 2 Blessing + 5 Cloak + 1 Ring + 2 Necklace + 2 Pet + 1 Brew + 1 Effigy + 1 Boots) My Game: iirc, 18/8/8/18/8/18 (You may need to increase DEX a little) -----Part 2: Equipment----- Head: Acina's Tricorn /Helm of the White Void (Helm of the White Void adds valuable 10 ACC to Forbidden Fist) Cloak: Cloak of Poverty (Keep your money LESS THAN 1000 please.... no?) Armor: Gipon Prudensco (Bear in mind that this armor only provides 8 Pierce AR, which is dangerous when fighting some bosses...) Necklace: Token of Faith Gloves: Firethrower's Gloves Belt: (Depends on your AR requirement) Boots: Boots of the Stone/ Boots of the Whiter Ring1: Ring of the Solitary Wanderer Ring2: Ring of the Marksman (Optional) Pet: Eviee ---Weapon Set 1--- Main : Xefa's Empirical Explication Off: Kitchen Stove (For Blunderbuss attacks ofc) ---Weapon Set 2--- Main : Kapana Taga Off: Cadhu Scalth (When abusing Forbidden Fist, mostly late to end game boss fights. Kapana Taga for its +1 AR and +4 Deflection effect) -----Part 3 : Abilities----- Level 1: Swift Strikes, Marked Prey, Companion: Bear Level 2: Resilient Companion (+2AR to protect the bear from.... your friendly fire mostly) Level 3: Fast Runner Level 4: Clarity of Agony, Protective Companion (Clarity of Agony will likely refund 1+ Wound, and you can use it as healing ability) (Use Protective Companion to stop enemies when they rush towards you) Level 5: Two Weapon Style(*) (Switch to Weapon and Shield Style when fighting end game bosses, except for Hauani O Whe) Level 6: Gunner(*) Level 7: Lightening Strikes, Marked for the Hunt(*) Level 8: Stunning Blow(*) Level 9: Evasive Roll(*) Level 10: Thunderous Blows, Stalker's Link (Thunderous Blows is sooo good, blunderbuss starves for that +2 Pen and +5 MIG bonus) (Also it has no recovery time and wont break your attack rotation, i.e. your healing chain, that is crucial in some dire situations) Level 11: Hunter's Claw (It's okay to leave it to Kith or Vessel in early game) Level 12: Duality of Mortal Presence (Mind mostly, switch to Body if you desperately need Fortitude) Level 13: Stunning Surge(*) (Now you can begin to spam Stunning attacks) Level 14: Driving Flight(*) (Your life saver when facing Hauani O Whe, praise the sun!) Level 15: Practiced Healer (More healing power!!) Level 16: Turning Wheel(*), Survival of the Fittest (Switch to Iron Wheel when bosses overpen you, namely Belranga, Dorudugan and Guardian of Ukaizo) Level 17: Hunter's Fang(*) (Switch to Beast's Claw if necessary) Level 18: Improved Critical Level 19: The dichotomous Soul, Uncanny Luck Level 20: Crucible of Suffering (*): Replace these abilities with Tough/Bear's Fortitude/ Snake's Reflexes/Long Stride etc. when facing certain bosses -----Part 4 : Some Numbers----- Stats Attunement If my observations are correct, when Powder Burns inflicts Distracted, it will simply RESET the last Distracted duration instead of replacing it, i.e. it wont proc healing or generate Wound. Basically, you have to shorten the Distracted effect as much as possible, and make sure it expires right before next Powder Burns attack. So, we can reach a criteria like below and yes, there are some...delicate calculations involved. (RES Effect - INT Effect) < max(DEX Effect - Armor Effect, Reload Animation) As a self-inflicted debuff, Distracted is affected by your INT ,which is extremely annoying. Lowering INT to minimum barely affect the duration because of the double inversion algorithm given maximum RES, and on the contrary, you need INT to keep up Ghost Companion, Tenacious and Clarity of Agony (Turning Wheel will increase INT anyway). In conclusion, assuming 20 INT (8 Base + 2 Blessing + 10 Turning Wheel, +50% Duration) , 35 RES (-75% Duration), -35% Duration from the ring and -50% Duration (Active) from Clarity of Agony, Powder Burns will last for 1.98s which is enough to support 12 DEX attacks wearing Gipon Prudensco. (First Inversion: 0.5 INT - 1 Clarity of Agony - 0.538 Ring - 3 RES = -4.04 Double Inversion: 10 Base Sec * (1/(1+4.04)) = 1.98 Sec) So, to my life easier, i simply went with 8 INT/8 DEX/18 RES (20 INT/12 DEX/35 RES in game), hopefully someone can come up with an accurate combination. -----Part 5 : Bosses----- **Spoiler Alert** Here presents some tricky boss fights and provides some suggestions. I uploaded a pic fighting Guardian of Ukaizo with 3 stacks of The Final Mega Boss as kind of proof, since only 500KB attachment is allowed... 1. Hauani O Whe (Primordial) 2. Sigilmaster Auranic (Kith) 3. Belranga (Beast) 4. Dorudugan (Vessel) 5. Guardian of Ukaizo (With 3 stacks only)

  10. I have spent many years dealing with issues similar to what you seeing, I dont work in PC\IT desktop support or OS support as my job is about financial software consultancy. But all software requires an OS and we use client software that installs on desktops and integrates into numerous financial desktop products like Bloomberg Client Which means every project and customer I have ever worked at has a Pilot phase where a subset of users are designated to test and confirm functionality of the product we install and these pilots projects can range from 50 people in a 800 user stock broker to 500 people in a 60000 user bank But the point being my work involves working with and sometimes troubleshooting windows desktops because if the financial client software doesn't work the problem is generally desktop. So I want to share somethings that may help you with your problem, in summary You have a real problem that needs to be addressed but the good news is you can follow a relatively simple sequence that I follow to troubleshoot in most cases where I have seen similar issues Firstly what OS are you running? But reboot your PC and go into Safe Mode before windows loads, once in Safe Mode if your issues have gone away then its a DLL or driver that is causing the corruption and you can be selective about what not to load if you have the patience If the issue is still their in safe mode then logon with a new windows profile to see if the problem is a corruption in the profile. This can happen and causes different symptoms Also a virus can definitely cause this but I dont thinks its hardware related which is a good thing Finally I dont know how confident you feel in doing what I suggested, it may be foreign to you in which case keep it simple and just install the OS again ....it wont break anything if you select update or similar choices. Failing that I would take it to a PC repair shop. Because their are many things that can cause the problems you experiencing and sometime rarely you need a proper analysis done by people trained to troubleshoot OS and desktop issues You and I are more or less the same age which means we will have similar memories of historical events we lived through but as is normal we have different journeys through life which would influence some of our views and beliefs. This is a good thing of course and one reason we learn from each other ....so this post of yours made me laugh but only because it represents something that is considered anathema and " not effective troubleshooting " when you have to produce real reports at customers about issues with the systems we sell and integrate. And the reality is a trading system in any financial company that is not performing properly after we implemented our eDiscovery systems needs to be investigated properly and the RCA (root cause analysis ) performed and the findings have to be based on actual causes and proven problems....so basically the art and learned experience of troubleshooting with these types of systems can never be based or formulated on guesses, unscientific analysis or any kind of metric that cant be proven So your post really made me laugh because it reminds of what they explain you must never say when you at a customer and their has been a problem that was created after we did some work and now important people in the customer want answers which they entitled to especially if it was the fault of our consultants who have been their for 6 months or so And what made me laugh is your explanation about the mouse issue is exactly what any normal person would say who is not necessarily trained in analysis of this type of product .....it just doesn't make any sense to people who need to fix the issue but yet it fixed the issue so you being absolutely honest I know this may not seem funny but it is if you appreciate the stereotype. And what makes it more interesting is you are someone with a deep understanding of DIY and how these things work.....and this is something I know nothing about And yet if I had to explain some of my minor DIY issues in my flat at the moment you may be shocked how I havent been able to fix them because for you they would be simple tasks I really made this long post to highlight how our combined knowledge of things grants us general knowledge of many things.....nice to live in a world where we can benefit from each other

  11. That might be true, but it was not thrown into your face at every corner, like nowadays... In today's world, going out to exercise is fatphobic, having wife with bigger cups means you are sexist, eating chinese dumplings as a white person makes you racist... I've seen and read more nonsense in last two years than in my previous 40 years...

  12. I am a fan of both Fassina and Ydwin. Ydwin could be pure cipher in your group, since Maia can handle rogue things, or you could let Ydwin handle rogue things as she can be cipher/rogue, and you can get her basically as soon as you get to Nekataka. Mirke is also very easy to get, and she can be a lot of fun, too. I haven't done much with Konstanten. Rekke is solid, it can be annoying getting to him early game as you might get intercepted by high level ships.

  14. Ech, all them U-tubers farm views by crying about how wimin, and wokeness and whatever are ruining gaming. It's the thing to do as a tuber these days. Even if they have no clue what they are talking about or what online culture they in turn are contributing to. Trailers and preview videos can be awesome and the game can still end up an Evil Genius 2. Trailers and stuff can be utter garbage and you can still get a Saints Row 3. And right now we aren't even that far with the kotor remake. Some twit making a video out of reading twitter in the end is just that, a twit reading twitter.

  15. "+20% duration of hostile effects on nearby enemies on scoring Kill" Working from the same rule that Strand of Favor do, that Frostball enchantement can increase the duration of foes debuffs, keeping them paralized or stunned (for exemple) "for ever" . For ciphers, it mean the duration of linking abilities like Psychovampiric shield , Body attunement, Borrowed instinct... will grow for him by the way ; this is not only reliable on Big number' foes fights, because killing your squelettons trigger the effect in the area (maybe 4 meters around the target, maybe), so even a boss alone can be stay in respect . Dual wielding two Frostballs to economise Brilliant

  16. I played Kotor2 first. Before that I hadn't even heard of "KOTOR". I think I bought the first one (on DVD) at some point, since there was so much talk about a few characters in it. I don't think I got past any tutorial/beginning scene. Nothing against the game. I'm just one of those that sometimes has a hard time getting into whatever I try to play second. Couldn't drum up any interest in playing 1, is all. I suppose a remake/redo/whatever of the first one is nice for the newer generations who want more shiny and QoL updates. Maybe they won't totally screw it up and it'll please both old and new fans. Maybe.

  19. Don't forget the house centipede if you go in the shed or indoors. Though these guys can be freed with same adversion that spiders give people. Maybe it's them legs or the fact that the jump on prey like a face hugger while beating it to death..........no it's them legs Excerpt from the wiki It may often be seen darting across floors with very great speed, occasionally stopping suddenly and remaining absolutely motionless, presently to resume its rapid movements, often darting directly at inmates of the house, particularly women, evidently with a desire to conceal itself beneath their dresses, and thus creating much consternation.

  20. Par for the course. If we don't shoot ourselves in the foot at least a half dozen times a season, I consider that a miracle and I should consider playing the lottery. And yes, it feels really weird the very few times when muh Boys are the... I can't even say good guys, let's go with less bad guys. Glad to be back to normal next week. I like when our team is the villain, it feels right.

  21. Late to the party, but Dorohedoro is wonderful. For such a violent anime, it's so good natured and charming. All the characters are genuinely endearing - even Jonson - and I'm really enjoying the central mystery (what the hell happened to Kaiman?). Great art style too.

  23. I had the same complaint less than a week ago. Fortunately there is a rather prosaically named mod "No World Congress" which I promptly installed. I imagine this disables Diplomatic Victory as a side effect, which I consider a feature as it's the most idiotically implemented victory condition in the history of the series. And yeah, "it's alright" is my reaction to it too. I suspect that it won't last beyond this month and that I'll return to Civ 4 in due time.

  25. Depends how quickly you play these types of games. If you go slow and take your time or play turn based then you may be fine picking it up now because I'm most of the way through Act 3 and haven't had any real issues but otherwise I'd hold off for at least a month or so. The new patch fixed my auto-cast issue so I'm back at it

  26. Yeah, that's a common occurrence in RPGs in general, and Bioware games in particular. I guess making compelling and credible evil options is difficult, because it boils down to either egoism (i.e. walk away and get no XP or loot) or zealotry which is often a poor fit for player characters. Games tend to go for the thug playstyle instead, and that's just boring. Tyranny I think managed to present consistently interesting "evil" options that made sense for the player, but I can't remember many other games that did. Tyranny is also a special case in the sense that the story sets the player up as an official and enforcer of an all-powerful tyrant.

  27. Huh. I was hooked on the story and didn't see the twist coming at all. It probably helped that it came out at a time when I wasn't really plugged into the internet. It was also back in the day when I could sit down and play a game for an entire weekend. Plus it was a more engaging Star Wars story than the prequels. I went my entire childhood without any real SW content other than the toys and the original movies, and then we get these mediocre movies. Then we suddenly get this fairly cutting edge RPG set in the universe. It was pretty awesome at the time.

  28. I just finished the standalone SF3 Fallen God campaign with my friend. I got the supposed good ending, but it was more bittersweet... if not downright cruel. They really did a great job on the narrative front, developing characters, even secondary ones, and giving them fleshed out personalities. The game does still have a hefty amount of ME WILL SMASH YOUR FACE, but motivations and subplots are more involved and I enjoyed the focus on the tribal and mystical aspects of troll society. This one is more of a role-playing game than the other SF3 titles, being the only one where your choices determine which ending you get. This is to the detriment of the RTS facet, with less RTS missions overall and those not being very interesting. Generally you can just crush everything with your hero party if they are correctly specced and don't really need an army to do so. I'm assuming the experience would drastically change in higher difficulty levels. Visuals, voice acting and the score are great like in the other two. Such an underrated franchise.

  31. I've been in a pretty dark place the past few days. The morning after Sunny's vet visit I woke up and just knew something was wrong. She never slept in the bed with me. She was allowed but preferred Tommy's orthopedic doggie bed in the living room by the bay window. That was where I found her. She passed away in her sleep. She was my best friend. I'll never forget her. I'm having a really hard time with this one. I know the realities of dogs and she has had health problems all her life. She was an adult when my ex-wife Stephanie and I found her snooping around the campground in Sugarloaf Key down in Florida. We were on our honeymoon. We were supposed to go scuba diving that day. But that morning Sunny befriended Tommy and we fed her. She was so skinny and desperately friendly. We took her to a local vet and had blood work, shots and exam. She was dehydrated and malnourished but otherwise in decent health. He thought she was around four years old but could have been as old as six. An hour later she had a bath, flea treatment, a collar, a name tag, and a whole new life. That was 2014. I never told you guys how my second marriage ended. I'll sum it up in one word: badly. My first marriage was like a bonfire. My fist wife... God I loved her. I would have done anything, said anything, paid any price to get past our problems. But like a bonfire as hot was it was it burned out slowly until there was just nothing left. I haven't spoken to my fist wife in thirteen years. She remarried a little while back. I truly hope she found the happiness she never did with me. But with Stephanie things were different. It felt more real. Not a bonfire but a hearthfire. Warm and sustainable and enduring. So I thought. It didn't burn out. A giant bucket of water was dumped on it. I woke up one morning thinking life was great. By sunset I knew it wasn't and never was. I cut off almost all contact with her. She tried to reach out to me so many times. In the weeks before the divorce I was polite but cold and curt to her. Since then I've said nothing at all and never responded when she tried to reach out to me. She has tried. as late as a year and a half ago. I have always been one to compartmentalize grief. I stack it all in a little room in my mind. Then lock the door and seal it off. Sometimes I anesthetized myself with bourbon to keep this little legion of sorrows from escaping their locked rooms. I told myself to focus all my energies on the positive things in life. My job. My business when I had one. My dogs always. I have none of those things now and I feel lost. Friday night in a moment of extreme weakness I sent Stephanie an e-mail telling her about Sunny. I rationalized it by telling myself Sunny was her dog too for a time and she deserved to know. But, I know I was just looking for someone to talk to. Someone who would understand. That was probably the worst thing I would have done. Five minutes later I never wanted to un-send an e-mail so much in my life. She has not responded which is, undoubtedly, for the best. With Sunny's passing all the little griefs and sorrows have broken out of their little rooms and I'm finding I can't deal with them all at once. I am missing Sunny, Tommy, Bela, Stephanie (not the real person, the person I thought she was), the business I didn't want to sell, even the job I disliked but it gave me something to focus on. I am having trouble falling asleep. Then I have trouble staying asleep. But I also have trouble staying awake. I'm a grown man. I should be DOING something not sitting here in an empty house crying about what can't be changed. The script is written. The ink is dry. But I don't know WHAT to do. Nothing feels right. I have been sorely tempted to just kill the brain cells where all this negativity is stored with whiskey. But I know that would be the wrong thing to do. I finally admitted to myself two years ago that my self control when it comes to booze is not all it could be (to put it mildly) and swore off of it shortly after. My vet's office invited me to a "pet loss support group" that meets there semi-regularly. I don't think that's for me. I don't think speaking to a therapist is something I'd want to do either. I know what's bothering me. And there is nothing anyone can do about it. I wish I could just switch off all emotions. I wish I had the mental discipline not to dwell on how life might have been different. Or the mistakes I've made. The sun came up this morning. It will come up again tomorrow no matter what. The world will keep turning no matter what I end up doing so all a man can do is turn with it. There is a great old quote from Eupridies I've always liked: "This is courage in a man: to bear unflinchingly what heaven sends.” I've found my courage in the past, I'll find it again. This got kind of long and rambling I guess. I almost deleted it twice. I'm sorry I'm letting my inner demons loose here like this but it was a little cathartic to write it all out. And I really don't have anyone else to talk to right now. Hurlshot, Gfted1, LC, I love you guys but more than that I have always been a little envious of your happy marriages and happy families. You guys are all very lucky.
