  1. New version available on Nexus, with the changes discussed above and a few bugfixes. Deadfire Balance Polishing Mod at Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) I guess when I'll get back my family, I won't be updating the mod so often EDIT : I may disconnect for a while in a few days. I want to be freed from the stress of discovering yet another thing to mod I'll come back, don't worry. Just need a few days more to confirm that there isn't something gamebreaking in this version.

  3. The end of the fourth episode seemed to promise to go back to normal...for now. However, those two episodes absolutely seemed like harbingers of things to come at some point later in the show. As for Miyu... All I'll concretely say is that what happens both comes out of nowhere but also somehow makes a kind of sense and fits when you think about it, or at least I thought it did for me. Well, except for a couple of small details that I'm going to have to eventually ask you about when you get to it because maybe you could explain them to me better, especially what with you understanding Japanese-y things better than me, . Watched a few more episodes of Eriko - read ahead if you dare. I recorded this for @KP the meanie zucchini: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/s3y4g4o9lnhnbwd/k3xy3T5AJ0.mp4 Trust me, you don't want to know the context. Well...maybe you do.

  4. They (China) did attempt to get a foothold in Australia previously with the B&R tool (as well as attempts at massive farmland and industry buyouts) Luckily they eventually got sent packing and with a “don’t slam the door on the way out”

  5. No I didn't. Everybody may eat forbidden pie. So +5 all PL would benefit every case. Brrr, I'm not promoting corpse eating that much. However, all other bonuses work for other classes. Which lead to the actual point : I also changed the secondary effects of Kith food. Forbidden Pie provides +4 Resolve among other effects, which is a nice static boost to reduce the duration of Forbidden curse. And FORBIDDEN PIE for FORBIDDEN FIST sounds good. Like you do FORBIDDEN STUFF. Oh, my abilities are so FORBIDDENLY EDGY, you can't be as FORBIDDEN as ME. Of course, I wear a black cloak, black boots, and you know what ? A black and slightly red cap.

  6. If you are looking for healing then Druids are the better option anyways imo - so Hiravias would do.

  7. Something is wrong with the hubster. No severe pains but strange upper abdominal issues including some growing pressure/under-ribcage belly swelling that's worse when he bends over or sits vs. stands. So he went in today and they did a scan and plethora of blood tests. Most of them seem average/normal, ascites (fluid buildup) not evident, kidneys on the scan supposedly nothing too abnormal. Not all the results in yet. We're a little stumped so far. Hopefully it's just the weirdest case of gas/bloating/constipation ever or something.

  8. Sorry for doing another post, but I started the day with one idea in my head and in the end I will do something completely different. I will go on a party run, not sure if I go PotD or veteran, but my main char will be a classical tank. Goldpact/Unbroken. I want to be the guy who laughs in the face of danger, who jumps in the middle of the enemies and draw the attention with a smile in the face. This is the stats (with background and BB):12/17/10/19/15/17 Now my question is about my party setup. Is it better use the companions or custom characters? I am planning something like this, with my main tank, one dedicated support, one ranged, one melee and one dps who could provide some support too (probably will be ranged) Please, help me decide this.

  9. Forgotten City was pretty cool. Exploration, mystery, and time loops are my jam. My one complaint is how small it felt. But if they make another game like it that's bigger, I'll definitely snatch that up.

  10. Vampire Princess Miyu continues to be The Outer Limits: Animated. Guy survives his run-in with a Shinma only to be stabbed by his girlfriend. I guess I know what I'll be rewatching next. Heh.

  12. There are many good melee setups. One that I like is a Barbarian/Streetfighter (no need to pick Berserker) with dual daggers (dual stilettos or clubs or flails as backup) can be an extremely fast and good melee damage dealer. Use Pukestabber + Marux Amanth and Devil of Caroc Breastplate and use Frenzy (upgrade to Blood Storm, then Escape or Leap into a cluster of enemies to get flanked and do some very fast attacks with passive Damage over Time effects (Deep Wounds, Blood Frenzy), jump elsewhere and do the same, then return later to finish up with Barbaric Smash (for free if it kills). Tough foes like Steelclads can be brought down with a combo of Blood Storm DoT, Gouging Strike and Ring the Bell DoTs. This will eat up your Guile quickly but it makes short work of high AR enemies in no time.

  13. You could try looking for fan translations and hope the quality holds up. If I remember correctly any given Japanese student is supposed to know about 1900 (outdated info from the early 90ies, I just checked) 2200 kanji with multiple readings by the end of high school. As much as I find the efficiency of reading like that admirable, that's nothing short of insane to grind through for Japanese as a foreign language. Oh, and that's just the regularily used kanji, not obscure ones. They're organized by the Japanese ministry for education in list literally called regular use kanji, i.e. what you need to achieve fluency in reading. It also doesn't help that these pictograms all look like they were cooked up by ancient Chinese scholars on an opium binge. Before you accuse me of racism, dear reader, I'd suggest you learn to take a joke, but also, here's an example: Look at this, for instance: 南 this means "south" (in Japanese and Chinese, by the way). Look at the pictogram, take five minutes, and attempt to guess why this represents south. Done? Vampire Princess Miyu 2009: This is not your daddy's Miyu (wow that tagline is really awful combined with the name of a 14/15 year old girl) Vampire Princess Miyu: Into Darkness Vampire Princess Miyu: Beyond (These would actually work) And of course the new ones: Vampire Princess Miyu: The Darkness Awakens Vampire Princess Miyu: The Last Shinma Vampire Princess Miyu: Rise of Vampires Heh.

  14. No I said IF the bonus wasn't corpse eater only, then there would be no way to ensure it is restricted to Corpse Eater and his Multiclasses, since everybody can eat corpse. Bonus is corpse eater abilities only, and I won't change that That said, a character may want to use Forbidden pie for another bonus, especially because it is the highest food bonus to resolve.

  15. Guys, I was investigating more Miyu manga. Tell me if you think there's anything weird with these book titles... Episode I - The Shinma Menace Episode II - The Western Shinma Strike Back Episode III - Shinma Wars Episode IV - The Return of Miyu Episode V - The Wrath of Miyu Was not expecting the publisher of the English version of Miyu to just flat-out steal Star Wars titles (...and a Star Trek one as well), but here we are, . I can only assume that Revenge of Miyu wasn't the title of the last one because Revenge of the Sith wasn't out yet. Other likely variations if the publisher (Ironcat) hadn't gone out of business (presumably because of their lazy incompetence) before being able to finish the series: "Miyu: The Motion Picture", "The Search for Miyu", "The Undiscovered Shinma", "A New Miyu", "Attack of the Shinma", and either "The Final Miyu" or "The Final Shinma", . If nothing else, now knowing that the series was never finished in English because the publisher died in the middle of it makes it easier to not want to read all of it, I suppose. Not learning Japanese to be able to read the books that weren't translated, that's for sure, .

  16. Yeah, in some ways, this show is darker in a more real sense than something like Miyu, when you really stop and look past the surface and then think about everything that's happened... I wouldn't be against Eriko turning into a bloodsucking vampire queen TBH. Mostly related to stuff that hasn't happened yet, I think. Animation/art: Yeah, I preferred the general style of the original OVA. It's a similar case with the two JoJo's OVAs, where the original show had the better style, but the later show had waaay better fidelity and generally just looked "better"...and yet not exactly. Almost everyone in the show has this weird sort of...almost weird plastic-like quality to them (Chisato more than everyone else IMO), besides MAYBE Reiha, who instead has more of a...porcelain doll-like appearance. Even Miyu herself is affected at times. It's definitely weird. I still like it a lot more than most 2000s styles, so I'm thankful for that at least, that it wasn't a limiting factor to my enjoyment...but it could've definitely been better. (e): Also, I really like the soundtrack of the show in general. The general sound design of the show isn't quite as good IMO as the OVA, but specifically the soundtrack is better.

  17. Well, it is from Gainax after all. Sure thing! Does that all pertain to the ending or are there some general things too? If so ask away. Some general observations regarding Miyu: I really like the flute theme, and that she sometimes shows up playing the flute. Reminds me a bit of Robin Hood's leaf music. In the same vein, the understated fight scenes with Larva are pretty good too. The intro/opening credits are really great too. The animation is okayish. It fits the show, but it's sometimes a little choppy and often makes use of stills. There are moments I find myself wishing that they'd spent less time on the backgrounds and more time animating these scenes too, but hey, there barely is any animated stock footage (reused backgrounds), so it evens out, kind of. Style is... a mixed bag, really. I like how Miyu looks, but Chisato sometimes looks like a bug-eyed alien thing. Yukari looks like some character I know but don't know where from. That's such a bizarre feeling. It's more than her looks, the expressions, way of speaking, it screams familiarity at me, and I have no idea why. The art and animation is best when it's trying to be moody and brooding, i.e. when (sucessfully) invoking a sense of dread and misfortune to come. The school scenes, not so much, not sure. You're right, the 80ies OVA looked much better overall. I still like it. I see you've found a particularily lighthearted alternative to keep you occupied in between the heavy hitters.

  19. You've got to stay positive, at least it didn't end with this sort of inexplicable shift. On the other hand, it still might. Miyu: edit: Miyu just gave me a hearty laugh saying that everyone's moving in with her at the graveyard. Probably not meant to be funny after two murder/suicides in a row, but it still was hilarious.

  20. Thanks! Do you have an advice on which stats&skills i should get on creation? Max dex&perception. whats the difference between maxing might or int afterwards? might sounds better for me ^^ Race and skills? Currently only the starting stuff matters , ill try all skills on my own. But i want to be able to respec into a very good build so the starting choices matters. *edit* according to a written guide i created a nature godlike monk , fast strikes and 19might , 12 const , 18 dex , 18+1 perception , 8int and 3 resolve. I hope this will work.

  21. I will never do the Ultimate and of course I very much respect that you (and others) did that. IMHO the game is not significantly harder overall Solo vs. party based if you truly optimize for Solo play. It narrows down options a little bit and maybe the very beginning and very end offer a bit more challenge. But beyond the achievement, I usually play mostly Solo in RPGs because I find it simpler. In many cases, I find that one really good toon will plough through encounters more efficiently than a suboptimal full party. Don’t you think? One exception I found is Tyranny. I didn’t find it particularly fun to Solo. Which BTW makes me think that I need to add an entry to the list of things @Boeroerdoesn’t like: Cooldown mechanics.

  22. Episodes 3 and 4 of Nadia. Uh, feeling a little bit of a tone shift here from wacky adventure to...something else? I actually joked after watching the first episode that this would probably somehow turn into some kind of secret war show or something else weird, knowing Hideaki Anno...but it was a joke, because the first two episodes in no way conveyed that. Same here re: writing. I put on and listened to the whole thing because she's great, but the state of her authorship is probably the least interesting subject she has for me, especially because she tends to treat it more seriously (understandably) than other subjects. Non-spoiler spoilers:

  23. About every six months some politician here talks about how very interested our government is in B&R, nothing ever seems to progress beyond that though. There has been some push back against Chinese 'investors' not living up to the claims they've made in their Overseas Investment Commission applications recently though, with some divestments ordered. Not that that says much, if they bought a property for a million dollars last year even if forced to sell they'd make 300k average profit (albeit, subject to tax).

  24. Single Class Monk no Subclass straight up annihilates. Swift Strikes+Swift Flurry (like 15% to proc an extra attack on crit) + heart beat drumming + whispers of the wind is crazy good and straight forward. Use fists for crush damage SC monk gets insane scaling for fists, the damage is of regular one handed weapons with the speed of light weapons with extremely high base PEN. You can use sabers for an alternate damage type as very few things if high crush and slash DR or sword for all three damage types (crush fist and sword pierce and slash) Max DEX and PER what’s left over can go to INT or Might if you are going Turning wheel for the INT buffs and fire lash. At the start of the game you have to babysit him a bit if playing POTD (it’s the only difficult I play) but as the game goes on if you have a Paladin/Herald/Liberter/good support healer the monk will be more than fine and kick butt. Lastly efficient Anguish is a boss killer as it can Knock down (thanks to your high PER) almost every single boss (I’m pretty sure all) my party SC Monk kept every dragon and tough boss face planted lol. item wise: Once I get home from the mother in laws I’ll edit!

  25. NYPD arrests woman for walking dogs off leash I take my dog with me literally everywhere I go. I cannot remember the last time I had her on a leash. But she’s calm and she has been well trained. Reading a story like this makes me thank God I live where I do. There was a song from the 80s that went “just send me to hell or New York City it would be about the same to me“.

  26. am not a fan o' game romances, with the notable quasi-romance o' tno and ravel from ps:t. however, if you are choosing three female-specific romance options 'mongst the bg2 companions and mazzy fentan is not selected, am thinking you need reexamine priorities. in bioware's defense, mazzy is typical acquired a bit late compared to other companions. am recalling this were the expressed reason for excluding the halfling from the romancable options. HA! Good Fun!

  31. A Harbinger can distract himself with the upgraded Wisps summon. I mean if not using blunderbusses. You can also wear Deltro's Cage Helmet then and get a little shocking lash because the Wisps do shock dmg. Their dmg is pretty pathetic so you don't need to fear the shots. I view them as my personal essence batteries that power me up in order to get over the little cheesyness of letting my own summons attack me.
