@majestic Ironically, there was that one horrible video I posted where Chibi-Usa was flying with Pegasus that actually had a kind of okay love song (ugh), but I tried every song on those soundtracks - it wasn't on there. So presumably there was even more that didn't make it. One day, I'll watch the entire series in the original dub and I'll be sure to send you the very best songs, . I tried your song and no joke, I audibly groaned and facepalmed upon hearing literally the very first few words. Usagi screaming "OH MY GOD!" is basically me whenever I'm subjected to the German Sailor Moon music stuff, . I actually prefer the original instrumental for Moonlight Legend in terms of actual instruments (simpler and cleaner, IMO), but yes, in terms of engineering/quality, the Moon Lips version is better. I have literally not even the foggiest idea what you're talking about, I haven't figured out anything lmao (and that's okay, better even!)2 points

I'm in a good mood right now and I want to post a pun, which I believe befits this thread quite well. How do you call a Bleak Walker with low Deflection? Answer: a Weak Blocker. Sorry but I had to share it at some point. It's been festering in my mind for too long.2 points

I think it's hard not to mention it, especially for Solo Play. Strand of favor is the new BDD + SoT + Brilliant. It's really the mother of all cheese, nowadays.2 points

Those treacherous Danes... never trust them any farther than you can throw them ! https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-57302806 "Denmark's secret service helped the US spy on European politicians including German Chancellor Angela Merkel from 2012 to 2014, Danish media report. The Defence Intelligence Service (FE) collaborated with the US National Security Agency (NSA) to gather information, according to a report by Danish broadcaster Danmarks Radio. Intelligence was collected on other officials from Germany, France, Sweden and Norway, according to the report. Similar allegations emerged in 2013."2 points

Hmm...I'm glad I never dyed my hair "wig auburn/red" because with my skin tone, I don't think it's me. Also, how do people wear wigs without their head/scalp feeling like it's in a sauna after 5 minutes? I feel like I'd have sweat dripping down my neck constantly. I guess wear them only in winter, ha? And why are the bangs like six inches long? I guess one is supposed to "style" their (cheap) wig to fit and look better. Just like real hair. Sounds like work.2 points

Maybe I should shave off the eyebrows again too. Hubby bought one of those shallow plastic storage sheds for rakes/ladders, so today he was out there placing cement pavers (he became really picky re: levelness ), then putting the shed together. If he likes it he'll get another, so two side by side. I can't believe how much they want for those cheap plastic things. $400 or something. That does not include any shelves or tool hooks or anything (it's a few hundred extra for the DLC!). Absurd. But they make good fence-gap/neighbor blockers! Maybe we should get a couple dozen more of them and ring the whole backyard fence with them, so I can run around naked back there all the time (no 2-story houses around here). And a hot tub! Edit: should've put in pics to begin with: ...thanks to my uber photoshop skillz, you can easily see that this would be the perfect spot for a small hottub.2 points

This does not really warrant a full Build Guide but I still wanted to share some of my findings with the community, in case you had experience or thoughts about this class. I tried a Solo Crusader playthrough out of curiosity to answer for myself the following question: does Fighter/Paladin really suck as much as I like to think? Indeed, this is a combination that can look appealing to new players because it seems safe and straight-forward, but that doesn't seem to get any love from Deadfire experts and power-gamers mostly for the same reason: it's arguably great at surviving, but not so much at doing anything else. While there seems to be some relative degree of consensus on this, I'm not sure many players have actually tried it (I must say I just assumed it sucked before I tried it). Some time ago, a comment from @Boeroer in relative "defense" of this class made me consider that maybe indeed, it could have more potential than I'd think. So after some planning, I went on with a Bleakwalker/Devoted with WotEp. Very classic. After having played from lvl 4 to lvl 20 and dabbled into high level content, my short answer is: it doesn't suck as much as you'd think and it can hold its ground in many situations where classes that tend to get more love would struggle. It can also be actually quite fun to play (not always). But as soon as you reach serious foes on Upscaled PotD, you have to supplement your toon with Arcana to survive AND deal damage. There is just too much incoming damage and enemies have too much health for its core abilities to carry you through the day. If Sacred Immolation wasn't so self-punishing and/or maybe a bit more powerful than it is, this class could actually have a lot of potential. With that said I don't think anymore that it's a bottom-tier class. Defensively: of course it's quite good, and I went further ahead with Hylea's Bounty, Casità Samelia's Legacy + max intimidate, a general focus on defensive accessories and the strongest active/passive defensive abilities plus WotEP as a weapon (Offensive Parry transforms melee defense into offense). I will also rip the bandage here: I went with Conquerer Stance instead of Mob Stance, for the extra DEF and ACC and it actually works pretty well. Net, you can consistently get your defenses in the ~160-180 range and have an extra passive +20 against afflictions. Decent, for a defensive build (not stellar). Healing: is great too obviously, thanks to the Fighter's Rapid Recovery, occasional Unbending, and the Paladin's Exalted Endurance and Lay on Hands. With max MIG, the Dawnstar's Blessing, Practiced Healer and Footprints of Ahu Taka, you're very hard to kill. On the other hand... Sacred Immolation does so much self damage that it's hard to sustain in fights where enemies can actually hurt you. Sure you can use Voidward, but then you're not using another good ring. The fact that Sacred Immolation does MORE damage to self THAN to enemies will remain a mystery to me. If only things were reversed... it would be so much nicer to do 48+ Raw DMG per 3 sec to enemies and have to manage 30-45 Burn damage per 3 sec to self! Offensively: I went with Bleakwalker/Devoted + WotEp because I thought there was a nice synergy between Eternal Devotion applying Sicken, and Clear Out targeting FORT while being multiplied by WotEP AoE. It actually works well indeed as a DMG + CC tool... but enemies on Upscaled PotD have too much health for it to be a bread winner on its own. Offensive Parry with high DEF actually complements the damage very well and keeps your melee offense relevant until you get Sacred Immolation, or with Burn immunes. At high level, Sacred Immolation can melt a surprising amount of foes if you remember to apply Lay on Hands to not die. With 10 Zeal, you can apply 2 Lay on Hands and 2 Sacred Immolations per fight, which will destroy a lot of foes. You can then finish the stragglers with a couple of Clear Outs and the occasional Run Through, which I had forgotten was so strong as a single target-obliterating weapon ability. With a Mythic-grade WotEP, the base damage + raw DoT is close to a death sentence. Conclusion: As I mentioned earlier, all that stuff works well at crushing high level bounties, mopping the floor with all the witches, oozes, bats, etc. of Outcast's Respite in a single fight, the Fampyr Crypt too - and it's actually quite fun until you have to finish stragglers with autoattacks that take forever. However, as soon as you start hitting the real mean customers, those tools fall apart. In the Sea Lash Crypt, DLCs etc. you need Arcana to prevail. It's not a shame by any mean and the fact that you can get this far means to me that the class isn't bottom-tier, but of course it's also not top-tier. It's (drumroll) middle-tier. So all in all, my personal takeaway is that the next time someone asks about Crusader, I won't be so prompt to dismiss it - in a party or in a lower difficulty Solo playthrough, I think it's actually a pretty nice class. Anyway, let me know if you have any comments/questions (damn, I feel like at work now that I wrote this sentence thanks for reading my memo ). PS: My fun finding of this playthrough was that Run Through + Slippers of the Assassin can turn you into a mini Assassin! Begin fight, buff, go to a squishy, apply Run Through, it's dead, trigger Shadow Form, flee, reset, do it again.1 point

That's probably some licencing stuff. I think that song had the same melody as the Japanese version in SuperS. You know what just happened? I went to YouTube to look the videos up to confirm if they have the same melody, found the Japanese one, scrolled down a bit and found these: There are the anti-vaxxer nutjobs that think vaccines are used for poplation control by Bill Gates. The more I read comments under Sailor Moon videos on YouTube, the more I wonder if that wouldn't be a good idea. Mr. Gates, please save us from Pedosus/Chibi-Usa shippers and people who think that Crystal's animation is beautiful, and make sure people who think that season 1 and 2 looked better than 3 spend eternity in that special place in hell reserved just for them. I'm pretty sure there's some space in between the poeople from the KKK, all the popes, Bruno and Stjepan. Don't you hate on my German Sailor Moon stuff! Well, actually... the Super Moonies are really, really, really bad. Okay, that's good. How do you like Sailor Mizuki so far? I mean... all I heard was Makoto talking, but I guess you don't really have that problem. edit: Right, so the big question, did you too think that episodes 28 through 30 were a little less interesting/great than the... oh boy, like 20 before them? Or was that just me?1 point

Active abilities usually are on the left side of your level up screen. So just for an "easy" example let's stay with spirit shield. Even tho you play monk (I'll get to that in a second) lets take paladin as an example because they have an active and passive for AR. Exalted Endurance is on the left side and an active, it will not stack with potion of spirit shield or even Gilded Enmity from Goldpacts. Stoic Steel is on the right and will stack with anything. Now the problem with deadfire, that to all rules there are exceptions, for example I don't remember 100% if the monk's modal for AR, Iron Wheel, actually counts as an active or not, I do think it does not stack but I don't 100% remember, and this is the case for many modals, unique abilities granted by items (which are named after abilities but do stack with abilities....). You almost always have to test if something stacks or not, which isn't always reccommended on a TCS save (keep in mind, that in pillars games you can ignore TCS by simply loading a completely different save, this will not give you an exitsave, I would still just create a console toon for testing, its much more practical :P) Brilliant recovers all resources including wounds (yes its cheesy) I don't have community patch, but if you use a sc monk you "need" strand of favour for brilliant anyway, as the cloak doesn't last long enough without SoT or WoD. So you should just use brillant from the gods and strand it, however a FF really doesn't need brilliant, you can either use hyleas talons or blunderbuss modal for resource regen. Both merchants in Periki sell ingredients, there is also a gem merchant in Serpent's which you need for some recipes. As to gearbefor Scordeo's sabre, I would just go for the pistol (pickpocket the key if you don't have enough mechanics for chest, lure merchant away from chest with spark cracker (just don't actually hit anyone with the cracker or they will turn hostile :P). You can either wield the pistol in your offhand and with the right upgrades it will give you recovery stacking) or you can cheese it and just use out of combat with strand for infinite duration. (not really necessary) At level 17 you should be able to just kill fire dragon tho, don't you have resonant touch already? All there is to the fight, keep dragon at distance with Dichtosmth Soul clones and hit the dragon with a blunderbuss for resonance stacks, once it has enough resonance to die just explode it. Probably best if you practice this with a non tcs console exported clone of your char. After dragon you unlock scordeo's sabre quite quickly, doesn't take much longer than 5 minutes.1 point

The VFW & American Legion are meeting together today. For the first time each since the covid breakout. The Memorial Service is in the morning. I think I'll skip that part since I just woke up an it starts in an hour. After that cookout and lunch at Meeman Shelby Park. Should be fun.1 point

Looking good, Boeroer thanks for testing and sharing! I can imagine that those fights get tedious... maybe then switch to an axe with the modal on and focus on one enemy at a time, eventually the stacking DoTs will do the trick? Not Magran's Favor obviously in this case . Or maybe something like Grave Calling with the Paralyze? Or try to trigger Scordeo's Edge Blade Cascade to finish each enemy? In any case, tedium involved.1 point

Ouf... it becomes really tedious with this one once you face enemies who can heal each other without limit (e.g. Rathun Fanatics). Battle Unending indeed.1 point

Hard to appreciate at times just how incredibly well done this is. I've been a bit hard on the second arc because some of the setup is a little forced and not as neatly integrated into the world as the first one was, but that first arc and the way it was set up was pure magic and probably hard to replicate. It's always Kero crying, not me. I'm totally not using the poor guy as a stand-in here. Nope! He really has a tough time dealing with the emotional stuff on the show when it happens. Non-descript spoiler (it still is a spoiler of a sort - so yeah, take care): Sakura also gets some character development. It's not that there never was development for her, but the writers made her deliberately more static than the supporting cast around her (at least, I think, maybe I'm reading too much into these never truly changing running gags, little kaiju ), as an anchor for the audience and a way to show how much far other characters have come.1 point

I did some testing with the console and such a MuT-Tuotilo's Palm Unbroken/Goldpact (max RES, Ring of Solitary Wanderer, Patinated Plate, Blunting Belt, Dragon Pendant and so on) and it's rel. easy to stay at 20+ AR for most of the fight (in this case Sworn Enemy and not Brand Enemy). The dmg output isn't too bad actually. I opted for Guarding Stance bc. of the damage reduction (stacks with the one from underpenetration) and added the Death's Maw as helmet to stack even more dmg reduction eventually. I did not use Pale Elf but I guess that could be nice to complement the AR coverage without having to juggle items around too much. Everything I threw at him was no problem. DMG output wasn't that bad actually. Two Weapon Style + Armored Grace + Abraham made Patinated Plate bearable. Against foes with mostly crush dmg I would switch to Nomad's Brigandine or Magnera's Chain + Ngati's Girdle or something I guess. Leap does not end Stoic Steel. I think none of those mobility abilities does. Everthing that lets you move with The Wall will also not end Stoic Steel (I didn't use the Wall in this case of course). Speaking of The Wall: I would like to try a verision with Bronlar's Phalanx and the Gladiator's Sword. I will be a lot slower offensively and better defensively - but maybe I can then get away with an optically more fitting, lighter armor. I like the vibe of those items a lot.1 point

I bought Flowscape, which gives you a bunch of pre-rendered landscapes, skyboxes, objects, animals etc. for your to "paint-brush" an animated fantasy landscape. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1043390/FlowScape/ You can create beautiful, artistic vistas, tea gardens, visual art inspiration! Meditative, simulation-creative, 4k screenshot friendly! But then I saw it had a cat "brush", so ... Imma gonna make a Cat island.1 point

Latest purchases... Rogue Squadron (because I like my hotas stick), Dungeon of Nahelbeuk (sp?) and Nier: Replicant 1.22.... (because I love Nier: Automata). Regarding Nier... Kaine's swearing is just otherworldly bizarre But it runs smoothly without hiccups, which is a relief considering what I had heard about the PC port.1 point

I played the demo for a while. It really looks like a complete game up until it ends if you want an impression @BruceVC It is too "cutesy" for my cynical old Danish self, but it a well made with a very high degree of spit and polish added to it. Right down to funny little remarks and conversations with just about anything you would expect would be able to have a conversation. I.e. talk to the towns people, not the road signs (although you can read those).1 point

@Boeroer one thing that I thought about just now in favor of your AR-focused build proposal is @Elric Galad's finding about Stoic Steel below. So not only could you begin the fight with +6AR, but actually much more... and potentially use your leap/cancel trick with bounding boots to go around the battlefield never losing your insane armor... To be tested (maybe by me at some point but not now ). The core issue remains that it takes forever with a Solo Crusader to kill stuff, but you can do it in the relative safety of having 20+ AR. Like some kind of Death Turtle. 2) Stoic Steel can charge up before battle So if you start battle after 18s of immobility, you start with +3AR. I've never been aware of it before today. This makes Stealth interesting for Paladins ^^ Additional tip : some of the "teleporting" abilities such as escape don't cancel Stoic Steel. I haven't test all of them.1 point

I watched Fateful Findings. First off, this is how the movie arrived: You know you're about to watch a top quality motion picture when it comes in a blank jewel case. What can I say about this movie... It's... It's baffling more than anything else. It's not a particularly funny bad movie, though I did get some laughs, particularly at the end, but it doesn't even come close to being as funny as Samurai Cop, for example (admittedly, that's an extremely high bar to clear). It's confusing, but in a strangely engaging way. The acting is awful, as expected. Stuff just happens. We go from scene to scene to scene with nothing remotely approaching set ups or transitions. Neil Breen plays Dylan, who's an author. When he was a kid he and his friend Leah found a box in the woods and it had a magic (?) rock in it. He has magic powers, I think (because of the rock?), and he's pretending to be working on a book but is instead secretly hacking into everything on his multitude of non-functional laptops to expose corruption. The whole thing is a confusing mess. The ending, though, and Dylan's stirring speech... *chef kiss* Magnifique! Also, if you ever wanted to see a naked Neil Breen in a tarp cave, I have some great news for you. I think I will order Pass Thru next. Sadly, he no longer sells Double Down nor I Am Here... Now, so I have no idea how I could procure those.1 point

Numbers is a mod, he's asking for a justification as to why this needs a separate thread from the existing political thread, or if you prefer - why shouldn't this thread be merged with the existing one that covers this same area. I am curious about this as well. How does he prove that he had their assurance? Seems like anyone who wanted to, could set him up - assuring they will not share it then doing so. Also, if the 'public forum' include social media, he pretty much can't talk to anyone.1 point

Bought two games recently on steam. Nier: Replicant for the depressing stuff and Dungeon of Naheulbeuk (no idea how to pronounce it, it's based on a French comic series) for the more lighthearted stuff1 point

Sold the 5700 XT for about $700 to someone I was reasonably sure wouldn't scam me - back on my GTX 1060 for the time being. Apparently, it's a bad, terrible, no good idea to sell GPUs on eBay right now due to the amount of scammers and eBay/PayPal almost always taking the buyer's side, so I found a place to sell it where I could select a buyer myself instead of being at the mercy of whoever clicks the buy button first. Less money for it, but that's not a huge deal to me to avoid getting scammed entirely. Did lots of different benchmarking and testing of my undervolted CPU. In Curve Optimizer, most cores are around -20: one that's -15, one that's -10, one that's -30, and a couple that are -25, and these seem to be quite stable while reducing both reducing power draw a small amount and increasing performance seemingly. As I understand it, each -1 is about 3 to 5 millivolts, so that's about close to -0.1 on some of the most reduced ones - not too shabby. And finally, I ended up getting a Mushkin Pilot-E 2TB for my SSD needs. Even with the 1 TB I have right now, I've generally been very strapped for space (and has made a transfer over to the new PC difficult), so it'll be a welcome respite. Case: Fractal Design Meshify C Blackout PSU: SuperFlower Leadex III Gold 750W MB: MSI X470 Gaming Plus Max CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800x Cooler: Scythe FUMA 2 RAM: G.Skill 32GB 3600 GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1060 Windforce OC SSD: Mushkin Pilot-E 2TB If nothing else, it's a great time to not need a particularly good GPU, .1 point

Yeah, I'd go Fallout (1, 2, and Tactics) every day of the week and twice on Sundays over The Outer Worlds. It's not that I hated it or anything but I dunno, it felt too console shootery to me if that makes any kind of sense to anyone other than me, myself, and that one guy over there somewhere. It just wasn't my jam or my brand.1 point
