  4. Look Bruce, before I edited it out, the post was a joke about the irony of you trying to explain free market economics 101 by way of a cartel controlling 80+% of a limited natural resource and accounting for 40+% of its global production. Doubly funny because it's in response to a post about a few companies that price gouge to their heart's content in a protected market without any fear of consequences. Even the otherwise brilliantly goalpost moving other party engaged in this realized that there should be some sort of litigation for such an obvious abuse of market power, before trying to deflect how utterly debunked his original claim was and shifting the focus towards company revenue statistics. However, I almost immediately realized there are only two possible reasons for this: You really don't realize the irony or You're acting in bad faith For either reason, the only conclusion to draw is that WOPR was right. Hence: Never mind, this isn't worth it. Happy now?

  5. Every year my cycling group participates in the Tour de Cure to raise money for Diabetes research. We just started fundraising for the year. Last year I raised about $800 and as a group we broke the $30k mark. We ended up with an 80-mile ride with about 6,000 feet of climbing, so hopefully that fits DP's definition of a healthy lifestyle. Contributions are greatly appreciated: http://main.diabetes.org/site/TR?px=15363308&pg=personal&fr_id=13306

  7. I haven't watched much, but Sailor Stars has a new intro song and I did laugh when Ami got the spotlight and she was eating an ice cream while pretending to study. Better than most of her time in Super S tbh. @majestic I haven't seen you post anything about JoJo in a while, have you passed

  8. That’s where you went wrong right there. You can’t. You can feed them and provide for them and take care of them but by God you cannot own them. And they will let you know that too. If anything it’s the other way around.

  9. Then it would be Niflheim, the land of the dead that's all cold. Valhalla was all large feasting halls full of warm hearthfires, mead and buxom serving wenches. Valheim is somewhere in the middle...

  12. Solo. As Oner wrote, the game scales difficulty based on player count. I'll try fire arrows when I fight him again to get a trophy for my wall. As an aside, I found the altar for Yagluth, the 5th (and final?) boss just by chance while farming fulings for black metal scrap in the plains. I'm going to take a break from the game for a bit. I'm in no hurry to fight Yagluth. My next order of business is building a fortress and city, but I'm going to wait for the update and new building pieces.

  15. Evangelion 3.0+1.0 finally came out in March and it seems to have received positive reactions, except from the degenerate shippers. Wonder how long a run it will have before the BluRay comes out. I would think a short run because of the whole pandemic, but who knows with the Japanese.

  16. You'd think these free market apologists would use this as the prime case to support their argument, the insulin prices in the US are insane because of a funny combination of both lacking and overboarding government interference/regulation. The type of price fixing between companies is quite clearly illegal but no case is made, and on the other hand this situation only exists because of the US' ridiculous patent law creating an insulin oligopoly. But no, it's fat people jacking up the demand and free government money, lol. I wonder if they'd go whine after some heavy handed regulation of the food industry would lower the amount of overweight people by making them more aware of just what they're stuffing in their faces every day, like copious amounts of corn syrup, and reduce the amount of unhealthy reprocessed sewage on the market. No, wait, that's SJW talk. Bootstraps and self-restraint. That's it. Sorry.

  17. It isn't inflation in case of insulin. It is unregulated market of product which has no alternatives, which means that people who need it have two choices, pay what drug companies ask or die. It is just pure robbery supported by US federal government, considering that insulin is 100 old drug that was never patented, but still only couple companies have right to sell it in US and there is no regulations for how much those couple companies can ask for dose which cost them less than one dollar to make.

  18. No, not really, my nephew is hugging the TV where he's watching YouTubers I want to launch into space on a rocket without re-entry capability. He's visiting over the Easter holidays of his school. It'll probably be until some time after Easter until I can watch JoJo's again. I mean, I could also watch on the PC, but that doesn't feel right, I tried. I liked the new intro. The song grew on me after a while too. How far have you gotten?

  24. Its an attractive, but temporary solution. Eventually they will surpass the average American and move out on their own. Ahahahahah, I slay me. Heres a picture of me right now: Aside, I recently had my dreams crushed. I had it in my head that I was going to retire at 62 no matter the amount of the monthly checks, then I asked Google what age you have to be to retire, and it told me 65 (because of the year of my birth)! GODDAMMIT! Will anyone of you rich peeps (Grom, LC, Hurlshot) sponsor me until I retire? Im pretty easy on the eyes if that helps.

  25. Adding to this, half the food our group uses is wasted on corpse runs instead of actually achieving anything. Granted, we're the idiots for going to the plains in suboptimal gear, but the hunger mechanic stops being cool when you reach the point where eating to go anywhere important becomes mandatory.

  27. IIRC you are not locked in at that point - you can still betray them, and you can side with one of the other factions - you might not be locked in until you actually use the Engolio de Espiers to summon the ghost ship. Unlike most of the other factions, the principi questline does not burning bridges with the other factions in the way huana, RDC, or VTC do.

  28. I'd say it depends on the purpose for the grind. Valheim starts off well, but it swiftly turns into that "I'm grinding materials so I can build tools, those tools I can use to grind materials which I need to build tools so I can grind other materials." There's little extra hook to actually get into it beyond that cycle. I mean, sure those boss fights are there, which you need to go through to unlock access to higher level materials / tools in which you need to... grind for materials to build tools to grind for materials... I think I need a bit more story or world engagement to stick with it for anything other than a social hangout with friends.

  30. If he's a frosty guy, maybe you should've used fire arrows? My dinky level 4 wood club did double the damage to Bonemass compared to my +2 iron axe. Enemies scale with player numbers, though I'm not sure if or how dynamically.

  31. I killed Moder, the 4th boss in Valheim. This is a grueling experience all around. First off, just summoning him is quite the chore. You need 3 dragon eggs which weigh 200 each, so even if you have the girdle that increases your carrying capacity from 300 to 450, you can't carry all 3 eggs by yourself at once. His summoning altar is quite far from my main base and it was quite the journey on my ship, especially with the wind not cooperating and me having to tack yo sail against it. I built a summoning portal near the altar once I reached it. Unfortunately, you can't take dragon eggs through a portal (still worth building it, though), so I had to make the last leg of the trip from shore and up the mountain side multiple times. I felt like freakin' Odysseus after all that. After dropping the eggs near the altar, I ported back home, rested, got all my food and supplies ready, then ported back and performed the summoning ritual. Moder has ice attacks, so frost resistance is a must. My wolf armor and lox cape all have frost resistance, but I drank ftost resistance mead for good measure and used Bonemass' power for physical resistance. I mainly used my Draugr Fang bow with poison arrows. He's a massive bullet sponge, so this took FOREVER, but I was never in critical danger so long as I didn't try to melee him when he landed. His bite attack does stoopid damage.

  34. Also, that episode is a riot. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to be honest, but it's probably one of the funniest episodes in the entire run. That's okay. I know an anime we all seem to like that can do that too, go from completely goofy to heartbreaking in an instant. Like, dunno, from joking about having more romance to dying horrific deaths at the north pole, far from civilization with nobody ever knowing what happened.

  35. I figured it would be better to get the shows done with some focus, and the shorter runtime makes it a lot easier to fit an SU episode in here and there. Hence the sudden increase in watched episodes. Eh, and I watched like 10 today because it really upped the game there at the end of the first season.

  37. @majestic That was my episode, . Though I can't yet explain why this particular character episode is "my" episode until you're later into the series, not without partially spoiling some things - there is more to this story, obviously! Okay, good to know. Man, seems like you had finally just made the halfway mark like last week or so, and now you're near the end of the season all of a sudden.

  38. Yeah, that was pretty neat. Okay, I did not expect... this. edit: No, the episodes are ordered according to air dates, with season one being the pilot + 49 episodes and season two having 29, not 26 (+1). So, yeah. Seems like it doesn't matter too much though. And it's like 02:30 am. Geez. Gotta try to sleep a bit.
