Hi, As you may know Old Siec and Blood Ward both work with spell damage which is very handy for offensive spell casters in the party who suddenly don't need other sources of healing anymore (most of times). So I fiddled around with Steel Garrote/Skald and a Furyshaper and then tried Blood Ward + Old Siec in combination with Dragon Thrashed (because you never know, do you?)... --> Old Sic seems to trigger only once (when the DoT is applied), Blood Ward triggers on every DoT-tick! Tested further with different DoTs like Blood Frenzy, Deep Wounds, Bleeding Cuts, Disintegrate and whatnot and it's all the same: Blood Ward heals 15% of every tick damage (you can imagine with Disintergrate or Toxic Strike it's pretty awesome). Now... Is that new somehow or was is just so that this was missed by everybody? This makes Blood Ward extremely good and shifts SC Furyshaper to the top of my personal Barb ranking. Just for laughs an giggles I made a Barb with Bleeding Cuts + Panther's Leap + Barbaric Retaliation + Blood Storm + Blood Surge + Blood Ward and my... he refuses to die. Added an Old Siec Steel Garrote/Skald with Offensive Parry (crits from Offensive Parry can refill phrases) and a Bloodmage with Concelhaut's Draining Touch and Concelhaut's Corrosive Skin. I would say this is totally bonkers...4 points

Thank God. I have nothing against open world games, but we certainly have no shortage of those; not every game has to be open world. There are benefits to keeping the player on a more rigidly controlled path, namely in the pacing department.2 points

Everything I know: it's Werewolf Apocalypse instead of VtM. Devs were clear that they're going for more of a action game than a rpg. The character is fixed (eco-terrorist). You can use three different forms, wolf for exploration, werewolf for combat, and human for narrative. Definitely not open world. Last I saw it was scheduled for late 2020 or early 2021 release.2 points

We went to the hardware store and asked for tp, and the lady went off to a secret room and got us a 6 pack. It was all very clandestine. I also got a shovel, so that probably looked a bit weird at the checkout.2 points

Okay, it seems we're talking about 2 different games here. After some brief googling, I found out that the game Big Bad Wolf is making is indeed a VtM game called Swansong. They say they want to continue making "narrative RPGs", so I expect it will be at least somewhat similar to The Council, which is fine by me. Bonus points if the again include a Chesty McBoobs character. https://www.google.com/amp/s/onlysp.escapistmagazine.com/vampire-the-masquerade-swansong-announcement/amp/ There is also a Werewolf the Apocalypse game in development by a different studio (same publisher, though, I think) As for what I'm playing, it's still Valkyria Chronicles 4. I'm in chapter 10. There was a bit of a jarring tonal shift when I had played 25-ish hours of what is essentially a pseudo-WW2 tactics game with exclusively conventional weaponry when suddenly MAGIC.1 point

I'm like 99% positive that against most (if not every) enemy rogue-type (Xaurip Plaguestriker was just a specific example I could immediately think of, instead of random rogue kith #125) that uses Shadowing Beyond, their first attack dispels their visual invisibility, but they remain untargetable until SB naturally wears off. I'm only 99% positive because Xaurip Plaguestrikers have slow attack speeds so it could be related to not having had a second attack roll yet, but I know I have to constantly run my clothlings away from enemy rogue-types because they have no way of interacting with them. It's so consistent that I just assume that I cannot target an enemy rogue that has just used Shadowing Beyond. I'm actually astonished that apparently no one else has noticed. It can't possibly just be me, right?1 point

I unfortunately never managed to get my sc Barb through the early levels. He's far too squishy until the higher levels in my opinion. Man I really wish the Barbarian had the passives of the Paladin with all the extra DR. Barb gets 1 DR for physical damage and that's it. A little extra health and a single DR point is not protecting you from crits and overpen.1 point

I finished Tomb Raider. Groaned a bunch at the end when Lara picks up that second pistol to cutscene blast Mathias off that cliff with it. For a game that short it also really felt too stretched out for its own good. Every setpiece repeats itself ad nauseum. Lara climbs a crumbling tower. Lara runs over a crumbling bridge. Lara runs from explosions. Lara climbs a crumbling tower. Lara runs over a crumbling bridge. Lara runs from explosions. Lara climbs a crumbling tower. Lara runs over a crumbling bridge. Lara runs from explosions. In a game that - with padding - scratches the 20h mark? Just how did it get the raving reviews it did when it came out? The one thing I really liked, and that's Lara learning to cope with her situation and progressing from scared out of her mind to ruthless killer rivalling Steven Segal's bodycount, also got ruined by the end when she starts killing the otherwise undefeatable and scary Oni by the score. Really? Fully equipped commando teams couldn't stand up to them but Lara and her trusty bow can, after a few days of learning wilderness survival and camping?1 point

This is still true, but you can simply stop it when you started it up. If you click at the right top you can close the program. No performance issues like that. UC will still start every time you launch the game so you need to stop it if you don't intend to use it. Or remove it, which is a bit of a hassle. It's not much of an issue actually.1 point

I heard about the child abuses by barnevernet from time to time in the past couple of years, but got interested after they expelled Poland's ambassador for trying to stop them from kidnapping a Polish couple's child. Many immigrants children are being targeted, especially if they look "norwegia" i.e. blond with blue eyes. Barnevernet steals children and give them up to Norwegian families. Gruesome stuff. Glad that European Court of Human Rights took notice. https://polandin.com/41264188/norwegian-fm-declares-polish-consul-persona-non-grata https://www.trtworld.com/magazine/should-your-kid-be-taken-away-if-they-don-t-like-fish-balls-norway-says-so-31026 https://www1.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2019/july/norwegian-nightmare-barnevernet-preys-on-children-and-parents-nbsp https://www.forbes.com/sites/realspin/2017/02/27/norways-government-abducted-children-and-ramifications-for-europe/ https://en.ordoiuris.pl/family-and-marriage/parents-take-norways-barnevernet-european-court-human-rights https://adfinternational.org/news/top-human-rights-court-rules-norway-violated-law-in-child-welfare-case/ https://www.thelocal.no/20170215/norway-barnevernet-serious-warning-echr-human-rights What a joke...1 point

Low level spells like Chillfog, Slicken, Miasma and Combusting Wounds, Repulsive Visage and so on are so strong, I can't understand how a Wizard can feel weak at any power level. Like in PoE (where one of the early complaints were that Wizard are useless while in reality it's one of the strongest classes of PoE) you have to grasp how to best employ a Wizard. Sure, the late Power Levels are especially awesome for a Wizard, but also in between there are some spells that can completely change the outcome of an encounter. For example: if you have several guys with AoE then Binding Web + Pull of Eora is invaluable. If you have beams, walls and pulsing spells or multiprojectile attacks then Combusting Wounds is very good. If you want him to be a simple nuker you'd have to make sure he's getting his ACC boosted and also his PEN. But often I find plain old damaging spells to be the least effective choice for a Wizard. Stuff like Fireball sounds and looks cool - but that one-time AoE damage usually is not a game changer. Wall of Draining or Arkemyr's Brilliant Departure on the other hand...1 point

That's the plan. I hope to eventually post Ultimate Edition builds (including updated versions of previous Companion Builds I posted in the past) for every Companion and Sidekick. May take some time though, since some theorycraft builds still need testing, and I'm running low on time these days. I'll need one more play through at least to fully test some builds I have in mind.1 point

Hello everyone. New user here. I wanted to know if the ball lightning ability is supposed to hit the caster when casting it. Is that working as intended? Just to be clear, I'm not casting it off walls or anything. What occurs is that when I aim with the line, my caster is at the starting point and will get hit upon casting it. Somebody help with this answer, thank you.0 points
