I was randomly inspired to pick CK2 back up again but I guess some patch had come out and my saves are broken because the main mod I was using is not compatible and whatnot. So I fired up a new game as a custom Doge of Amalfi since that's my wife's most favorite place that we've ever been. Less than 50 years later I control a good chunk of Italy and I'm married to a Byzantine princess (though I'm no where near strong enough to press that claim yet). I forgot how much bigger retinues can get for a republic and I have a large one, retinue that is, and a nice standing army at my family mansion. I'm also l really, really rich so I can afford mercs as needed. I've had some pretty lucky breaks so far because there have been a lot of nearby revolts which I have taken advantage of by attacking whichever side was losing or I didn't have a truce with and taking a province here and there. The only thing I really have to worry about there is that I have to win before either side does but it's been mostly easy pickings otherwise. The only really close call was when I tried to take Rome from the pope. Luckily for me the other Catholic nations took their sweet time before joining in and the Pope surrendered just before their stacks of doom made it to me.2 points

Yup, they changed the fights completely, and added more RPG stuff&fluff. If it would be Bethesda, that would be clear sign of MTX focused game. Hopefully such **** did never crossed the mind of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios leads...1 point

Pretty much. I enjoy the crazy visuals and the characters and Bill Skarsgard's performance, but they're more like over the top action movies with horror imagery. I really liked both, but not because they're good. They're fantastic popcorn munchers for me to laugh at.1 point

Bumping this thread to let everyone know I made a mod that "disables" forced resting. You can now finish Dirty Laundry, enter Ukaizo, do SSS content, etc. without losing temporary buffs. https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/3541 point

You always fight the Guardian if you take the Independent/Anarchist route. So you can free the dragon and sail to Ukaizo without a faction and still fight the Guardian.1 point

Actually, I was wrong in the other direction. I had only multiplied by 6 months, for whatever reason.1 point

Venombloom does get the bonus (even though it's not visibly keyworded). Plague doesn't.1 point

I got some reading done during my vacation. Y'know, sitting on a balcony with my Kindle in hand, watching the bay and enjoying the breeze is something I could really get used to. Finished the first two Harry Potter novels (which I got as my monthly Amazon Prime e-book for August and September) and grabbed a few things from Prime Reading, like The Forever War and I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. Them Potter books were more entertaining than I imagined. I'm curious to see how much different the later films were because the first two were pretty faithful to the source material, and I heard that changed with the third one. Not curious enough to buy the books early though. Heh.1 point

I just consoled it into my game and shot it with a lvl-20 char wielding the Red Hand (with Double Tap) and it didn't explode. Tried several times. So I guess the answer is no. Either its level is too high (above 20) or it got some immunity against this effect. It is a vessel though. Yuu can hit it with vessel-only abilities like Screaming Souls or Light of Pure Zeal.1 point

I'm currently going through the Bloody Baron quest chain in TW3. I've been looking forward to this. You know a series of quests was well designed when you remember all of it vividly years later and yet still look forward to going through all of it again despite knowing all the plot twists beforehand.1 point

In my experience property owners who lease houses to tenets are hardly the landed gentry screwing the little guy. Not saying it’s not like that everywhere but that wasn’t my experience. I leased a townhouse to two different families over a three-year period and I took a loss on that townhouse every single month. I could not collect enough in rent to cover the mortgage and homeowners dues. That’s not bad business, the cost of housing in Bartlett Tennessee is what it is. Of course all of that was made up for and then some when I sold the place last year. In my opinion real estate is absolutely the place to be right now as far as investments. If predictions are true and we see negative interest rates in the future the opportunity to buy will be really strong. For a short time at least. That said I don’t know if even that would help someone in Hurlshots position. When $800,000 only gets you a fixer-upper amd leaving the area is not an option I really don’t know what advice I could give. It just sucks. When I left South Florida I sold my house for $340,000. I had been in it for 15 years and made a good chunk of money off of it. I had to split it with my ex-wife of course. Moving to Tennessee I bought 24 1/2 acres of land and built a house on it for $210,000. Location is everything.1 point

I stopped at a truck stop roughly on the border of Oklahoma and Arkansas to do my 10 hour break today. I went into said truck stop and the music in the main part of the store was playing fairly quietly, like at a 2 volume. I was too busy trying to reach the bathroom ASAP to pay attention to what was playing. Inside the men's room they had the music JAMMING, like at a 9. I got into a stall, planted my ass on the throne, and that's when I noticed that what was playing was the guitar solo from Lynyrd Skynyrd's Freebird. It was a live version to boot, so the guitar solo, instead of being 27 minutes long, probably lasted about an hour and a half. Anyway, it was at this point that I got a goofy smile on my face because I realized I was taking a **** listening to the song that was the butt of the joke about what song DJs would play on the radio when they had to go take a ****.1 point

post 2 (different topic ) C-pillar ended up dying. It was getting big too. I gave him/he ate one small leaf of store-bought parsley, thinking if it didn't mind that I'd have to feed him less dill. I rinsed the parsley off but maybe it had pesticides. Oh well, whatever the reason, it was cute while it lasted. Hubby thinks I'm weird for getting "sad" over such a thing but a couple days later he found a new baby one and handed it over. It was really tiny. So I'm trying again. No store-bought parsley this time. It's already gotten much bigger. And if it doesn't survive all the way, then this morning I noticed ... Put those eggs in a jar, maybe I can raise a whole plethora of swallowtail babies! Also, the katydids are another insect that have been enjoying the garden. Aphids and ant "farmers" seem to love dill and the long green bean plants so anything that likes to eat those as part of their diet are also running all over the place (ladybugs/larva). Jumping spiders abound here and there too. I spend an hour or two each day just sorta watching it all. Makes me feel like that kid with the insect jars in her windowsill again.1 point

Pickles experiment much more successful than those jalapenos. Hubby thought he put too much garlic in them but I was all "no no, tastes good." Alas, he says he'll put a clove less garlic in next time. He likes more actual dill flavor (del monte), I like more garlic/spices flavors (claussen/delis). The 2 plants produce loads - he already took a jar of cukes to his client's office for ppl to take (as well as boxes of tomatoes). People there snap up anything that's left in the break/kitchen area in seconds, lol1 point

Hmm, that's odd. My non-admin account seems to be updating the cookie when I visit the site a day later. I'll have our web developer look into this again. If you really need more editing capability for some reason (Maintaining a list, polls, etc), let one of the moderators know and they will look into this for you. Unfortunately the formatting or use of BBCode we can't do anything about for the reasons stated in my prior post, sorry Thanks for the feedback everyone0 points
