Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. Mencken

I also thought of voting with my alt account but decided against it

I'm pretty sure I'd be found out since I doubt anyone else has even heard of Sword of the Samurai

I'm still waiting for your next installment.

Well... since people are coming clean about alternate accounts, I should probably admit here and now that I am indeed, Gromir. Gromir doesn't like having just one account, after all those years, it was time to start trouble under another name.

HA! GOOD FUN!

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest.

Begone! Lest I draw my nail...

Who the hell is Gromnar? Is he a half-orc?

LOL!

He's kinda the Incredible Hulk of the Obsidian forums. He's a member that always refers to himself in third person, he is very popular amongst the crowd and always writes the same tagline at the end of every comment (instead of making it a signature). I'm surprised he hasn't been active on this thread.

Good attempt, but you forgot to post in plural. We should admit that we are. Gromnir never talks in singular.

But that's what he wants us to think. We should not fall for this obvious ruse!

I guess this is technically my alt account since I created another one before this one but lost those credentials. I eventually got access again but by then I was used to posting as Shady Sands which is still weird to me because it's a place and not a person.

To try to get slightly back on topic I'll rank all the Fallout games from best to worst

Fallout 2

Fallout 1

Fallout Tactics

I rank Fallout over Fallout 2, but I do enjoy Fallout 2's scale, and its many engine improvements.

If I had to pick only one Fallout game to have... I'd pick my second favorite... Fallout 2; because it would last longer, and it's a close second place.

I'd pick 2 over original, but then again I'd pick New Vegas over the original also. I can see different arguments, though. One took itself too seriously. Two didn't take itself seriously enough. New Vegas had that awful Bethesda dialogue that's meant to make the world feel more populated. They all have something they do better than the others. They all have areas where they fall down at least somewhat. I do have to admit I wasn't ever a fan of the 'tribal' direction BIS went with 2 but... meh. Great games one and all. All three made my top 25, but only two made my top five.

I've never even heard of Fall Out Boy. However, I think New Vegas did score highest on music for the Fallout games.

EDIT: If you really wanted to get into the weeds, after the list comes out, you could have people rank each game by category. Graphics, music, etc.

Shoot me... I loke Fallout 4 more than Fallout 3 and New Vegas lol

The scary thing for you guys must realize is that there are more people out there like me. We are not of rare breed but, just people who examine the world with a different set of eyes.

Sure, I have quite a few friends who like FO4 the most but they are mostly console gamers that don't like RPGs all that much. ;P

I've heard of people like you, Sonic, but I never thought I'd actually meet one. On a serious note, I don't begrudge Celine Dione fans. God bless 'em, they may be greater in number, but as long as they don't resent me enjoying better music, I won't hold their lack of tastes against them. ;)

That's actually my case as well.

I may be slowly turning into one of those people (just don't make games I truly like anymore overall tho, console or PC) but I still prefer NV over FO4.  But then, overall, I've never been a huge fan of Bethesda games. They always feel so lifeless in some unexplainable way, to me. Morrowind was still my favorite and at this point that's probably more from the nostalgia point of view.
