What are you playing now

I'm not really well versed in that stuff but I'm pretty sure it doesn't take place after the Spellplague. The plot seems to involve some conflict between Tyr and the Chaos Hound called Kezef.

So far I'm very pleased with the atmosphere as well as the numerous skill checks (currently doing an investigation quest and it's really nicely done). It also takes a "realistic" or low-magic approach to things, so you need to pray at an altar to regain spells apparently (though I have to restore the altar in question first). And it encourages you at the beginning to take spells that may not be normally very useful in NWN2 as there are places in dialogues where you can cast spells. Gold is not plentiful and not a single magic weapon in sight so far.

This is kinda why I like mods, they can go explore rather different designs. A lot of times it fails miserably but occasionally you'll get something quite interesting.

Got Blade Runner working, so playing that. Should pass a Friday night at least.

Good game. One of my absolute favorite movie-gone-gaming games. Remember how amazed I was when I first bought it.

A few more hours into The Maimed God's Saga, it's really good. Not much to complain about here I think. It has a fairly big romance (though you don't have to go through with it I think) which I don't really care for but it doesn't bother me that much. The gameplay is excellent, the story is actually pretty interesting and it's for free.

Will likely end up alongside Trinity as my favorite NWN2 mod, though this also seems to be quite a lot longer.

Hey mkreku, I'm curious about what level you finished Two Worlds with? I know there's technically no level cap but with random wandering/alchemy hunting I'm already level 31 and I haven't even come close to "seeing" even half the map or started on the main quest yet. I mean, I talked to that robed man in the starter area, got his instructions, and have ignored that quest line ever since. I realize that'll make those quests easy when I get back around to them. I prefer exploring at the moment. :)

Done quite a few of available side/faction quests however. You can get around most of the town guards beforehand by hopping fences in certain spots. I'M SO SNEAKY. Altho, once I couldn't get back out again & had to reload, and once I stood on the spiked wooden palisade logs for too long/slipped or something and managed to impale myself, taking damage that almost killed me. heheh

I'm not sure, but I kind of remember hitting the high seventies at one point in the game. After a while, you will never have to worry about combat again. That's the biggest problem with all open-world games; they have to make them balanced for the ones who just want to do the main story quests which most often makes then way too easy for us who like to just wander and explore. Oblivion tried to fix the problem using level scaling.. we all know how that worked out.

NecroVision. Good old fashioned FPS ultra violence :(

Not quite as slick as Painkiller, but quite Ok. Besides that, a bit of Nationstates.

Thanks, that's what I thought.

And yes, that's a common problematic aspect in terms of balance for wide-appeal....but I personally don't mind much. :(

Are you playing the original or Lost Company? Either way, as you said, they're fun, old-school FPSes.

I bought both from Gamersgate, but currently just playing NecroVision (even though I know the sequel is actually a prequel) :)

I've been playing a lot of Dawn of War 2. I was thinking about doing "Let's play" on Primarch and get 5 stars on speed, but I've found out that for some levels, it seem really hard to do (especially with my rahter limited MPS). For example early mission "The True Enemy" seem to require sub 6 min run (as I got 4 stars for 6 min run). Combine this with horrible save system and I think you'd actually have to be speedrunning in order to complite 5 stars. I don't think I have patience or the skills for that.

Let's play Alpha Protocol

I was up until 5:20 AM, playing Mass Effect 2. On my fourth playthrough.

There's a lot of things in this game, including changes from ME1, that I don't particularly like, but somehow it really manages to suck me in unlike any game has since, well, Throne of Bhaal came out.

Still playing the CoHO beta, which is awesome.

BG2 on my new laptop, which is the perfect size for IE games (also have IWD / HoW / TotL on it).

Installed Titan Quest on the lappie to see how purdy it looks (very) and played a bit more of it. I have to say that I really like the pick and mix skill tree system which allows you to be as gimpy / specialised as you like. It's a bit too hack and slash (not often you hear me say that) and certainly not enough tunnels but the ancient Greek vibe is groovy.

I was under the impression that ME2's DLC was a giant pile of suck. Are the later ones better?

Kasumi was interesting but kind of short. Had some nice story elements but was nothing too great gameplay wise.

Firewalker - introduced the new vehicle which felt like it worked a lot better then the mako..although you didn't have the casual free roam with it.. just certain planet missions had it open. The story arc for that was nada too brilliant.

Overlord definitely rules the roost out of all of them though. The storyline works, the gameplay elements are blended in nicely..

I've been playing Assassin's Creed and A Farewell to Dragons. Both pretty bad games... Don't ask why I continue, I think I just keep hoping one of them will get better.

I came up with Crate 3.0 technology.

Crate 4.0 - we shall just have to wait and see.

A Farewell to Dragons

Did they patch the game yet? Last time I played, I could not finish the English localized game because of a bug and had to finish the last part of the game in Russian.

I kinda liked the game as a mix of Dungeon Siege & Arcanum (with absolutely horrible translation, giving the whole story a nice B-movie feel). Combat is kinda **** in the beginning, but some of the late game skills & spells are quite original.

Not to mention, it's the only RPG where the main hero is David Hasselhoff:

The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
