Divinity Original Sin 2, which does count as an isometric RPG, is definitely one of the most popular and highest games this year, and it's a PC exclusive. It definitely has a chance of being RPG GOTY for many sites and I'm sure it will sell close to a million copies long before the console versions hits. CRPGs are definitely a niche genre at the moment, but Larian was smart enough to modernize the genre by giving it modern graphics, full voicing, and even things like coop multiplayer.

The wizard (and druid) got a few high-level summons back in the PoE expansion, so I'm hoping they expand the list in the sequel. I'm also excited for the transmutation school of magic. I love spells like Polymorph Self and Shapechange back in BG2 and the NWN series, so perhaps we get spells like that in PoE2. Seems Transmuter get a spell just like Tensor's transformation.

Same. I'm enjoying it as well. Also, one of the great things about DoS2 full voice acting is it makes it easier to let's play. Sadly, PoE isn't a very popular let's play title because of the lack of voice acting and huge lore dumps make it frustrating to read for some people. Let's plays are one of those things that help with marketing.

In it's current form? Not really. Isometric rpgs like pillars are too niche for the mass audience. However, Both Josh and Feargus said they're interested in expanding the pillars series to other genres like turn based strategy or even open world since it's going to be their flashship series. If they can somehow make a 'sidegame' in the series similar to elderscrolls or new vegas, then I'm sure they can expand the series while they can keep making the main isometric games (Fergus said PoE3 is guaranteed if Pillars 2 does well).

"her role as a down-to-earth family and a quest that is arguably the most outwardly "noble" of all companions', there's no doubt she was designed to be charismatic all around."You know what the noun "charisma" means? "she's one of the best companions in any RPG I've thus far played." I can't argue with madness. Thanks god she will not be reintroduced in PoE2! Uh... to think that she was so bad that Josh and the rest of Obsidian didn't even bother to reintroduce her... Nah, it's just her story is done. If Josh's hints are anything to go by,I'm sure we'll see here in the expansion as an important NPC (but not playable).

Pallegina, Tekēhu, and Xoti are your base healers, but anybody else can choose any other class as their second class. Also, if scrolls are as OP as they were in PoE1, then I doubt you'll need main healing class anyway. Besides, with unlimited respecs (I assume) you could temporarily turn somebody into a priest for healing.

The fact that you think Rogues and Fighters are bad (when they're clearly not) makes your whole argument meaningless to me, so I guess I'll stop talking here. -

The OP never said that. Stop putting words into people's mouths. Kind of weird to compare classes like Rogues and fighters to a class that is meant to have a variety of spells. =\ -

Why shouldn't spellcasting classes have a variety of different spells instead of just specializing in a set of spells? It was that way in the IE games. I like summons, but I don't like the theme of chanters. I like druids and their transformations, but I also like the fact that mages could transform into monsters that are less "druidy." There is nothing wrong with having more options for ALL spellcasting classes. -

Wizards did get polymorph and summons in the expansion and later patches, but I do miss the polymorph self ability from NWN and BG. I also miss some of the cool utility spells like invisibility. On the other hand, Wizard did get the ability to steal spells from any spell casting class. I really want to see more cool flavor spells like that, even if they're not that effective in battle.
