  1. I would love to see a lot of random encounters similar to what's in fallout 2 and fallout New Vegas Not for just finding rare loot or fighting monsters, but we can also have some encounters that show Easter eggs, references to other games, or even random merchants to buy equipment from.
  2. It should be an option; many people just aren't a fan of it due to brain dead AI in games.
  3. A whole lot of trolling in this topic. It just proves how hostile this community can be, and I really hope the mods deal with some of the idiotic one word responses. Personally, I'm ok with this. It's no different than adding animations to a critical hit.
  4. As a person with many friends living South America and Mexico who are fans of CRPGs, I'm glad you guys are offering a Spanish translation. Hopefully the localizations will get more people around the world to donate.
  5. As a JRPG player primarily, I rather go with option 3 or 4. I'm the type of person who tends to forget where I leave my companions, especially if I take a break from the game. If there is someone I want to use, I would just like the convince of switching them in and out of the party, rather than try to search the game for them.
  6. I'm a big fan of arcanum and Masquerade Bloodlines, and Tim's otherwork, so naturally I had to donate.
  7. I would defintely like to see clerics in this game. Not the "priests" in robes you usually seem in games like WoW, but the D&D style clerics based on templars from RL. In other words, the cleric should have a mace, a shield, armor, and draws magic from some divine source which can either be used for healing, buffing, defiling, or destruction.)
  8. I would love to see some TEH orkz, preferably noble savage kind from the Warcraft series and not mindless beings you have to kill.
  9. None of the companions were forced on your in PS:T, so you could solo without any companions, and the story was still decent due to the interaction with other NPCs in game. Besides Dak'kon and Morte, none of the other companions were all that important to the main plot anyway (Ignus and Vhailor were semi important, but you could talked to them and gain memories WIHTOUT them joining your party).
  10. And may I ask why? You expect every places in the world to have the exact same culture?
  11. Basically a Nightblade or Arcane Trickster? Pretty much almost any RPG class you can think of is a cliche because it's been done before.
  12. Without mods, we wouldn't have gotten games like Counter Strike, DOTA/League of Legends, Team Fortress, etc. While I'm sure the game will be moded anyway no matter what, they should make the process as easy as possible when the game. The benefits outweighs the cons (and I'm sure Obsidian has enough money to make a killer single play campaign now).
  13. Sadly, a lot of gaming communities seem to think that only Europe and North America(besides Mexico) are the only gaming communities worth catering too. When in fact, there are huge gaming communities around the world that like CRpgs. I have a few friends from Brazil that are very interested in this game, but they won't be able to play it if the game doesn't get any localization.
  14. You must live in the outer banks, because I never heard any pirate accents over here. XD
  15. I don't like the whole argument of "this accent not fitting the setting." Personally, I just want a wide variety of accents for people who live in different nations, just like in RL. For example,in the Witcher 2, people of Rivia had American accents, people from Kaedwen had Irish accents, and the Temeria people had English accents. In other words, I would like to hear more than just British Accents. The Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth had a lot of power during the late middle ages, so I wouldn't mind hearing Eastern Europe accents. So did the Spanish and the Dutch. America was discovered around this time as well, so early American accent shouldn't be bad either.
  16. i like how in arcanum you could steal important items from characters you otherwise had to kill or convince to give you the item. It was a nice alternate way of playing the game; advancing through the game using stealth.
  17. They should do what they did in Arcanum. Have a few well developed companions, while having a bunch of other companions that didn't have as much dialog. 6-7 seems nice if they are all well developed, but what if you didn't like any of your companions? I personally couldn't stand half the characters in NWN2 OC and DA: Origin, so I was forced to using "well developed" characters I didn't like at all.
  18. No, they are not. In any way. Take the "romance" out of PS:T and what do you have? The same game minus something completely innocuous, minor and unimportant. PS:T had romance? I would call some small dialog choices with Annah and FFG romance.
  19. They probably did it for RPing reasons as well. I know I'm not the only one who hates getting a companion I hate forced into your party (why halo thar Neeshka).
  20. That's not true at all. also, "Zooming in and out is a must" couldn't take it too seriously after that. e I think you may need to get your eyes checked ; those images don't look hand drawn at all. Those background were clearly made by a 3d Engine and turned into images. If you played other pre rendered games like Final Fantasy VII, Resident Evil, or Donkey Kong Country, then it's easy to notice.
  21. If none of the NPCs are forced in your party, then the ability to create your own NPCs should be an option at least, like in BG1+2 multiplayer. Sometimes it's fine going Icewind Dale style in your games to maximize the stats in your party.
  22. Planescape Torment had romances? News to me. Besides one NPC having a crush on the Nameless One, I don't remember any romances in that game.
  23. It would be a HUGE mistake to not translate this game into other languages. Europe and Northern North America aren't the only nations in the world, so it wouldn't be fair to alienate their other fans who do not know English. Many of my friends from Mexico and Brazil are interested in this game, but they don't know English at all. I'm sure many fans would be willing to help translate the game. Of even some localization companies (I'm pretty darn sure CD Projekt wouldn't mind translating the game in Polish if Obsidian puts the game on Gog.com, because they did it for the other Infinity Engine games. ).
