  1. If anything, having an antagonist is a cliche. Pretty much any antagonist you can think of has already been done.
  2. That's ok, I really hate having to play a guy (I'm looking at you PS:T / TW / AP). We all have our battles. You must hate playing the majority of games out there then.
  3. If it's about the money, then these videogame would take the risk of dubbing in Mexico and South American market. The Mexico videogame market has been making billions of dollars every year from what I know as a video game developer, and it's still growing. Even Brazil (a country that speaks Portuguese) has one of the fastest growing videogame markets in the world, especially in Online gaming (League of Legends had to create a Brazil server because there were so many Brazilians on the North American server).
  4. I'm not an expert on accents, but I'm pretty sure most Fereldon native born humans in Dragon Age the had English accents and were voiced by real English voice actors. I think it was only the Dwarves and Elves that had American accents.
  5. Yep, some minor spelling differences make Brit English and American English differ in a lot of ways....and when I say different in a lot of ways, I mean not that much of a different at all.
  6. I really, REALLY, love this feature in Arcanum, and the quests that you had to do with the master trainers.
  7. Since the backgrounds are 2d, they can actually afford to make 3D models look great without affecting the performance of a game. Characters dont have to look extremely detailed, but I really hope there are a lot of customizationj options for my character. I really don't want to look like generic NPC #25, which was a problem back in many old RPGs.
  8. Doesn't matter to me as long as all fights get more challenging later in the game. I can certainly think fighting 500 challenging kobolds or one big monster can be as much fun as fighting some random organized party. The final boss fight in the BG1 Expansion was my favorite battle in the game.
  9. Overdone? I can only think of one fantasy RPG that has had a reasonable representation of dinosaurs and that was Storm and Zenir. So yes I vote for them in certain places in the game world I think you need to play more RPGs. I see them a lot in JRPGs, MMOs, and WRPGs. Doesnt matter though, we need dinosaurs. :D
  10. Even in the IE games, people go in their houses at night to sleep. So some form of scheduling should be in the game. I would like to see somethings, like NPCs and monsters who only appear at night (which is simple enough to do).
  11. Not really, Sega still prevented them from doing certain things in AP If Indy games like FTL or Legend of Grimrock can make more money than their developmental costs, then I'm sure many of the kickstarter games have no problems making money either. :D
  12. It's not like they need to make animations for the horse. They could do it similar to Fallout's 2 car travel: you simply move faster on the overworld. It doesn't have to show the actual horses moving.
  13. I don't think this is hard to do. If the main character dies, let him stay dead until someone revives him. Since the main character is important to the plot, all quests should come to a halt until your main character is back alive. This may not be possible to do if your in final dungeon or something and you have no NPC on the team that can revive parties members. Perhaps the game over should happen in places like that.
  14. Both classes were in DnD however (with different names)....
  15. Would love to see a form of a shaman in this game. Just a class that deals with hexing, the spirits, totems the primal elementals, etc. And Druids are not Shamans; Shamans are neither tree hugers nor shapeshifters
  16. Regen was in BG, IWD, and PS:T. You better have a better explanation than "no".
  17. I would love to see the shamanistic snoble savage type of orcs you see in Warcraft III/WoW or even the Elder Scoll series. I would also like to see them as a playable race if that's possible. I think orcs being an evil race has been over do to many times. Yeah, orcs aren't that original, but are you going to tell me elves and dwarves aren't more overused?
  18. Honestly, I rather this game be more like IWD, TOEE, and BG2 than Planescape Torment; and I like PS T.
  19. Oh look another one that's imagination on what is evil is poor. Normally people that just want grey choice, are ones that just want to play heroes. Sorry but I find playing an hero boring, especially when that is all you can be. Everything grey is worse than everything evil and everything good. Far better to have good, evil and everything in between. In the end it comes down to this, I want to be the villain of the story. Agree; gray morality choices caters to good characters most of the time (example: Geralt), because they're usually the only ones of cares about the consequences about their actions. As a person who usually plays evil characters....., I really don't care because I usually on care about my own selfish needs. Gray choices should be in the game of course, but those choices shouldn't be the only choices.
  20. I honestly don't see what this rant has to do with the topic.
  21. I can understand if there won't be that many facial options, but I think things like a variety of hairstyles, skin tones, and height and body weight(within limits) should be used. I would like my in game character character to look somewhat like my character portrait. I'm really hoping characters look detailed when the game comes out. Isometric games use less GPU power than 3d games, so compared to say....Wasteland 2, character models can look more detailed without using as much GPU power.
  22. I'm a big fan of the Fallouit/Arcanum style overworld. Especially if it's like arcanum. Yes, most of the overworld that you can physically walk is wilderness and empty, but it was still the most realistic representation of a world in these games.
  23. As a PC only game, it makes me said that my fellow PC at like jerkwads to the TC and other people for voicing their opinions on the console version. While I think this game should be released on the PC and Mac first, I'm not opposed to a release of a console version if they have the time and funds for it. And for the record, while you have less buttons for keybinds, you don't have to simplify controls for the game to work on Consoles, especially when consoles have alternate methods to control games (Wii remote, mouse and keyboard, etc). In fact, as a game designer, I actually think the wii remote is arguably better than the mouse at times.
  24. Completing Candlekeep takes 2 minutes tops. All you have to do is meet Gorion, that's it. All the other stuff can be ignored.
