  1. I might as well +1 for quest only XP as well. We still exist even though we're not as vocal as the people who prefer XP for every action. Quest only XP worked well in VtMB and Shadowrun Returns. In the infinity engine games, kill XP was too small for me to notice, so I usually kill enemies for the loot anyway. If quest only xp makes the game more balanced, then I'm all for it.
  2. BG share the same combat of IWD so if he despise (and he plainly admit it that he would save basicaly nothing from BG2) he despise both BG and IWD. And for being completly honest at the moment i do not give a flaming **** about what Sawyer prefer. They had my money because they put baldur's gate, icewind dale and torment in their objective as goal to reach. And what i discover? that the guy who created the game dosen't give a **** about two of the said title. OH ****ING JOY Actually, he does like the infinity engine combat. Here are some quotes from his blog.
  3. They look better than the WL2 models at least. Nevertheless, I would love to see WL2's snapshot feature since I doubt there will be enough portraits to portray every single customization option in the game.
  4. Since they aren't going for one particular style like in BGs or Icewind Dale, I hope give us a ton of portraits like in Neverwinter Nights 1. I think there were around 100 portraits for each gender. Might as well give us a lot of portraits from different artists there isn't any type of consistency.
  5. I called it a few months ago in that other thread, but apparently someone thought my prediction was "nonsense." I still don't think it coming out this year, but hopefully I'm wrong because I don't want to see this game go the early access route.
  6. If it has ToEE gameplay mixed with Obsidian's story telling, then I'm sold. :D
  7. Bit rude to call my post nonsense. Nevertheless, I'm just stating my opinion based on my experience as a software developer. If they get it out early, then great! But I see doubt it based on what I seen.
  8. 1.Building the game and engine from scratch (While they are using the Unity Engine, they still had to build "gameplay engine" of PoE). 2.Barely any gameplay videos 3.Been known to releasing games with bugs in the past. 4.Game has a bigger scope than something like Shadowrun: Returns or FTL. 5.When the beta comes out, users opinions will most likely influence Obsidian to not just fix bugs, but to change gameplay elements. No way in heck is this game coming out this year. If early access isn't an option, then I hope Paradox will at least help with the funding.
  9. Priests in this game sound really boring lorewise and gameplay wise. I really don't like the idea of turning them into pure support. I pray that their some alternate builds for them, at least something like a battle cleric build that I usually play in the D&D pen and paper.
  10. Lol, I see the RPG Codex mentality slipping in the Obsidian forums.
  11. I don't even care if it takes ideas from DA:O battle system, because I found it enjoyable and highly tactical.
  12. Who knows, but I hope it does get the sequel. I enjoyed every minute of it and it was one of the enjoyable games I played when it came out.
  13. AP is one of my favorite RPGs of all time (and according to RPG Codex's Top 50 cRPGs, other people think so too), so I would trust them for that game alone. :D Nevertheless, I seriously doubt they will be able to release the game within this year. Inxile thought they were going to released WL2 earlier, but fan feedback convinced them to do that. Even if they do run out of the initial kickstarter money, they are ways for them to get extra money. Either by requesting more (like Star Citizen) or even getting help from Paradox (whom I hope Osidian works with more in the future; Paradox is an great company).
  14. I'm a bit disappointed there is no Linux version of stick it to the truth, but I guess it couldn't be made for a variety of reasons. Anyway, my main question is: Will all future Obsidian titles support Mac and Linux now that they we're getting a Mac & Linux version of PoE? Also, is it actually possible for Obsidian to port their in-house engine (Oynx) to Mac and Linux?
  15. While I hate romances in WRPGs; I find the trolling from the anti romancer in this topic a bit childish and pathetic. No doubt it's easy to see who's not mature in this topic.
  16. A medieval game with no elves? Take my money please. EDIT: Wow, I didn't notice Nonek said the exact same thing.
  17. It's pretty much an RPG staple to include a companion that's not so normal. Dragon age, KOTOR series, NWN series, Fallout 2, Arcanum, Jade Empire, etc; they all have companions from races you couldn't pick at all. So I'm positive they will add a character like that.
  18. You should play Wizardry 8 or some of the later Might and Magic games.
  19. When you look at what Expedition: Conquistador dudes did with with 80k~ you wonder what the **** Fargo did with all that money. You mean incredibly simply combat, horrible optimization, bad overworld controls and camera, and mediocre graphics. I hope wasteland 2 is nothing like that EC, which I found mediocre (but that's my subjective opinion; I know a lot of people like the game). But even then, EC is a finished game, while WL2 is still in alpha (despite the description, it's certainly not a beta).
  20. Path of Exile is one of the most played games on steam, and that doesn't even include the number of players who are not using the steam client. To say it has no staying power is pretty funny.
  21. Too small (few) number of companions? I pity the fools who never played PS:T. I certainly think the number they have is small at the moment, considering (according to Josh Sawyer) they are aiming for a BG2 like experience (moreso than a Torment and Icewind Dale). One of the strengths of BG2 was, of course, it's variety of different characters with a wide range of personality. I do know this is going to be somewhat difficult ATM since they want to make PoE companions more reactive than the BG2 one's.
  22. You know, it's funny; I've played RTS like C&C on consoles plenty of times, and while the controls are certainly worse (since movement is not as accurate as a mouse), these games were certainly playble.
  23. If Steam offers cross platform play cloud saves with Linux and Windows, then I know what version I'm getting regardless of the DRM freeness. Also, Obsidian also has a choice to make the game DRM free on steam if they like. For example, Larian studio's Dragon Commander can be played without opening steam.
  24. I would gladly take a slight delay in the development to get more companions (or maybe added as free DLC). The number of companions we have right now is a little too small for my tastes, and I'm pretty sure many others agree. But overall, I see nothing wrong with additional stretch goals, just as long as they don't slow down development heavily. Perhaps any additional stretch goals that are met could be added to DLC or expansions?
