  1. You don't need Twin Stings for that. At lv16 with Greater Focus you start with 55 focus. With Draining Whip and the Talisman of the Unconquerable you'll be able to drain 58% of the damage you do - you have to do over 43damage to drain at least 25focus. With an exceptional arquebus you can deal rather easily over 60dmg (before DR) which is more than enough to get over 25focus against most targets (and you should try to pick the squishiest target to shoot at the start of the fight).
  2. What's even more confusing is that we have 3 types of wounds and all work differently: - Deep Wounds - doesn't stack, its total damage depends on MIG/INT - Wounding enchantment - stacks, its total damage depends on your weapon damage and MIG - (Runner) Wounding Shot - stacks, its total damage depends on your weapon damage, MIG and enemies DR
  3. All lashes are done against 25% DR, so a paladin with FoD, Intense Flames and burning lash will do 100% burn damage against 75%DR (because there are 3 lashes). If you add also Scion of Flame it will become 120% burn damage vs 75% DR. PS. Enduring Flames seems to have now a fixed duration and its damage isn't affected by INT anymore. It deals 50% burn damage against 100%DR (because there are a fixed 4 ticks) but each tick is affected by MIG and someone with 30MIG will do 80% burn damage overall instead. A paladin could end adding 200% burn damage against 175% DR which means you can one shot many enemies with an arquebus or Firebrand.
  4. Kana is not a tank, he's just able to wear heavy armor and take defensive talents without hindering his chanting ability. The fact he can use summons to do the tanking for him is the main reason for his great survivability. He just starts with 25def, otherwise he's as squishy as a wizard or a rogue... Also, compared to a real tank he has to max INT instead of other tanking stats like RES or CON.
  5. I recommend the Enhanced Editions. Some purists will decry them because they don't like some of the minor additions made (like a couple new companions), but I played the originals, and the Enhanced Editions are wonderful upgrades, particularly graphically. Truth. I bought and played the originals back when I had to keep track of all five disks; the EE are superior, IMHO. The EE altered the gameplay because they introduced the rules from BG2 in a game that wasn't made for them. They also made some arbitrary changes (the nerf to the Eagle Bow was outrageous...) and introduced new items that altered the game balance. Overall it doesn't feel the same as the original and I understand why some people dislike the EE.
  6. It has some kind of cooldown because the dragon will cycle through all his attacks periodically even if you always stay in the melee range. The only exception is one of Lengrath's dragons who has a ranged attack he keeps using all the time.
  7. It's easy... Island aumaua rogue using ruffian weapons and 1h style, wearing padded armor, with eye patch and an amulet. You start the fight with Fellstroke and Runner's Wounding Shot, then switch to Bittercut/Purgatory (in 3rd slot you can keep Bleak Fang/Azureith's Stiletto or Silver Flash - not sure what damage bonuses apply to the procs, but it would be interesting if they can benefit from deathblows). I tried something like that and it sucked. What did I do wrong? Should I have done dual wield? Better stat distribution (I didn't min max). Is the third weapon slot the key (I played orlan because ... fuuuurrrr). Rogues are not easy to play - you must avoid taking aggro because you will go down very fast. Basically you have to wait stealthed until your tank(s) take the aggro or the enemies are CC and then pick your targets and kill fast.

  9. So I know this is an older post but I've just tested Heart of the Storm with Sagani and Stormcaller and Heart of the Storm does nothing to Stormcaller's damage. Have you tested this yourself? How have you tested? The increase isn't displayed on the character's screen, but if you check the actual damage you do you should see the increase (unless it was changed in a recent patch).
  10. Yes, the paladin is the class with the highest defenses because he gains up to +10 deflection and +20 fortitude/reflexes/will compared to other classes. You can achieve nearly 150 in all defenses without temporary buffs but fully equipped with the best items and with defensive talents/abilities.
  11. If I remember well you can be flanked either by having 2 enemies attacking you in melee from opposite sides or being attacked in melee by more than 2 enemies without positioning requirements - the engagement limit is 2 for all classes but can be increased with abilities, talents or items. By increasing your engagement limit you can avoid being flanked by keeping all enemies in front of you.
  12. Is that guide wrong? I also didn't understand why you always kept one enemy alive before engaging the next? Was that to show off to do everything in one fight, or to keep spells running? The guide is wrong, you can have multiple food effects at a time (of course the weaker effect is suppressed if they affect the same stat). I kept one enemy alive to stay in combat and not lose the buffs from the potions (I had a limited number and I think in this game version the ingredients were limited).
  13. Yes, it's supposed to work like Wizard's Double, however I think it's bugged right now and it stays forever. But even if it worked like described that's how you're supposed to reduce damage - first make them graze most of the time and then apply the DR. 8DR against 100dmg doesn't make a big difference, but against 50dmg you feel the difference (especially if you already have 20-25DR from armor). PS. Here's a video where you can see how I cleared the Stalwart village with my paladin using exactly this trick https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlqUtYVvDlg&t=6s
  14. Different retaliation effects on items don't stack. Effects coming from abilities, weapons and shields stack with everything like always...
  15. Some of my favorite talents are: Runner's Wounding Shot - great opener with an arquebus for any class Apprentice's Sneak Attack - free damage boost especially with a party Scion of Flame, Heart of the Storm, etc - great for boosting elemental damage and DR
  16. Llengrath: (bottle neck)Radiant Spore: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/84473-radiant-spore/?p=1853733 Nice spot you found... I believe the easiest method for a rogue to deal with these hard encounters is to use Sabra Marie and keep the enemies confused. You can also keep running in circles to avoid AoE abilities, while plinking them with arrows...
  17. If I remember well you can duplicate anything but soul bound items...
  18. If you want to duplicate your weapon/armor/shield you should first apply the best enchantments on them... Personally I wouldn't waste the mold on armors because they don't have very good enchantments. There are however some powerful accessories anyone in your party could use (Looped Rope, Gwyn's Band of Union, Maegfolc Skull) or you could duplicate a rare ingredient (that way you can apply the best enchantment to another item).
  19. Yes, she was harder to beat before WM1 was released. She was nerfed indirectly after 2.0 (when perception started adding accuracy instead of deflection) because she became easier to hit.
  20. People already did the Ultimate using paladins, chanters, monks and wizards. 90% of the required fights can be won using kiting/splitting methods by any class. You're left with a few fights where you need good defenses or/and CC (summons, confusion/paralysis scrolls...)
  21. It's true for Dragon Age 2&3, but the first was a true masterpiece - with solid story and characters, challenging fights and high replay factor.
  22. I don't mind for many levels if they add better loot and bosses because the Endless Paths felt like you had to grind 15 levels to get the good stuff.
  23. I think he's asking if it's possible to use the AI to make your priest heal when needed...
