It's been years since the 'xx nm' really meant something. You'll find very few to no structural features on current chips which actually fall into the range of some tens of nm. Now they mostly just go to smaller numbers to indicate every kind progress in manufacturing.

I played a Berserker/Soul Blade pre-1.1, and it was good fun. I used Whispers of the endless Paths back when it was ridiculously powerful (Soul annihilation AoE...). In the current state of the game, that's sadly no longer a good option. Building the class is still the same I guess - put everything in Barbarian talents except for Whispers of treason, Draining Whip, and Hammering Thoughts early on, later maybe take one or two CC spells and Focus-raising abilities.

Early Cipher abilities don't make too much sense for melee characters. I'd go with whispers of treason (still one of the best abilities of all), draining whip, possibly mental binding, hammering thoughts. If you want more CC, ring leader / mind plague and amplified wave later on. Basically everything else from the monk tree.

Yeah okay, but class and balance changes aren't happening ONLY on PotD or Veteren. Changes and nerfs to classes and abilities affects every difficulty level. Changing to a lower difficulty DOES NOTHING if your favorite class no longer works the way it used to. You can no longer that way, EVER AGAIN. Very specific abilities or builds may no longer give you the same results, but everyone will still be able to beat the game with basically every build they can think of.

Nope, still packs a wallop. Just not ridiculously OP anymoreHmm, but I guess the really squishy builds (Witch...) are now not really worth it anymore. Keeping them alive when they don't one or two-shot their opponents will be a hassle. Why would Soul Blade be a squishy build?I was referring to Witch, mainly. Very low deflection and not great health. But the barbarian side of Witch, gives one access to Thick Skin, Frenzy, etc. Then again, my only experience with that multi-class is Serafen, who is ranger character in my party Yeah, there are excellent abilities there (Berserker frenzy ftw, tenacious and hardy are great inspirations), but you do get hit an awful lot with the low base deflection and frenzy penalty. A witch frontliner is always in danger of going down. The cheesy combination of Soul Annihilation + Wotep aoe really helped survivability by simply outkilling your enemies. In the current balancing state I'm quite sure that pure Barbarian(/Berserker) is a lot more durable and thus also a more reliable damage dealer.

On my first run I bought all the ships and the best ship upgrades and many of the best items (Falcon Helmet, Pale Hide, Dragon's Dowry...) and still had way over 100k in the end. At times I ran around with over 350k in my pockets. Once you start looting superb gear from enemies, you'll be swimming in monies. Of course this will become harder with increasing game difficulty, veteran was still a joke in the launch version.

I did it with leap. Both boots or barbarians should be fine.

There seem to be many possible quest states involved here, for me everyone in the Undercroft was hostile including the water shapers, so I couldn't reach the boat without killing everyone. Dunno about patch 1.1 yet, but right now it seems rather impossible to say who will or won't attack you when you go there :D Worst case would be going to the Undercroft before visting delvers row, not having contacted Dereo, and without even having the food for thought quest. No idea if my method would still work without the last one.
