  1. This ticks so many of the important boxes. I guess my biggest complaint (and it's not a really big one) are in fact the facial animations. Not exactly TW3 level, but still a better than Andromeda, it seems.
  2. I'm hoping for the best, i.e., Obsidian allowed to continue producing their type of game, but with increased resources.
  3. Right. My bad for assuming that the people clamoring for an increased level cap wanted more than to see the little number go up. Yes, the cost of developing new abilities, creating animations for them, several QA passes for balance, a narrative pass or two for higher level skill checks, etc is what I was referring to. It's a psychological effect. Seeing a little number go up would be sufficient to keep some people actively engaged in the game when they would otherwise loose interest. Meanwhile, I hit level 18 when I reached Ukaizo in my last playthrough. *shrug* Bloody speedrunners *shakes fist*
  4. Sooo... can I get the new items simply on patching the game, or do I have to start a new game too?
  5. Most games I'm interested in playing are on GoG, and my GoG library has long since surpassed my Steam library in size. I still buy the odd game on Steam, like XCOM 2 and Prey.
  6. Can't say I have paid attention to that so far. But I guess I love the Berserker+Soulblade combo, turning the anger of his attacks into glowing essence to kick even more ass.
  7. The two attacks per reload + destroy lower level vessel on second hit of the Red Hand is a bit ridiculous, especially when you get driving flight later on. I went to Poko Kohara at a rather high level and my frontliners were storming the titan, when suddenly, he simply wasn't there anymore. Didn't even get the cool destruction animation.
  8. Not very. I remember NWN2, which I played at launch, and that one came with a bit of everything, including plotstoppers. Personally I only had very minor problems in two full runs of Deadfire +BoW, ship ressources disappearing being one of the more annoying ones.
  9. Thank you for reading my post in it's intended state. I was hoping to spark a discussion with another audience like I did on reddit. I'm still hopeful this is possible. To anyone reading my posts, sorry if im coming of abrasive. It just sucks when you put a lot of effort into something and then people take a big **** on it. I appreaciate your effort on these lists, but you have to realize that this here is the place where the most in-depth discussions on Pillars' game mechanics are led, and where people will be interested in using every single item to its fullest potential. Under these conditions your lists are bound to fail, because you cannot hope to compile all the best use cases for every single unique item within a lifetime (at least as someone who is not paid to do this for 40 hours a week).
  10. I always have Tekehu and Pallegina multiclassed with Chanter. I set them up so that one starts with offensive and one with defensive/healing chants. Also I let the AI use Killers froze stiff. Awesomeness.
  11. For things like this I think they did a really neat job of giving viability to both single and multiclass characters. Despite all the pitfalls in the game's mechanics which Obsidian themselves often enough fall into, the basic idea of the character system really works.
  12. Which level was your party though? With a high level party that's certainly not so hard, but this fight and many other boarding fights will be impossible with a low level party.
