  1. I was disappointed at the lack of different ways to solve this.
  2. I like the party assist system. Makes sense that you can profit from stuff your companions know/can do. I have spread my Watcher's passive points way more than the actives, but his two strongest skills are athletics (for second wind) and diplomacy. apart from that, I mostly have all companions specialize in one or two skills, for the higher skill checks in scripted interactions that are not Watcher-exclusive.
  3. Not sure if you know but the description of Blood Thirst is a lie: the zero recovery only applies to a single attack. Not that that makes it bad per se, but it's not as awesome as the description makes it sound. Yeah I heard, and it's made me sad. But if it did what we all understood it says it would be completely broken ^^ Still, for a guy dishing out damage left and right, and front... and back, like a Berserker/Soulblade, zero recovery on kill is going to trigger often enough.
  4. My main (Witch) is now equipped with Pale Hide, Helmet of the Falcon, and WoteP with Blade Form enchantment (the one with the stacking speed bonus). With Frenzy and Bloodlust, this results in a recovery time of just 2s, which is rather good for a two handed weapon. Can't wait for Blood Thirst though
  5. He's also very talkative, and demanding submission of everything all the time - Ishiza, for example. :D edit: whoops, spoiler free forum here
  6. And then you find out, 'f*ck, I did miss it all the time!', on your fourth or fifth time around
  7. At least half of the talking you do is setting you up to venture out into the world and kill stuff. Of course if you go and talk to every NPC in Neketaka before leaving again then that's a lot of talking on end.
  8. Fallout 3 and Skyrim (without mods) are decent Bethesda games. Decent. With mods? Fantastic, because it has a really large community of people who will patch and polish their game for free.... Honestly though, I preferred all the Fallout games Bethesda DID NOT make; Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas. This is all that needs to be said about Fallout:
  9. Nah, Berserker is absolutely worth it. Confusion is not a big deal (and can be supressed entirely from ~mid game on), but the bonus penetration and armor rating are excellent.
  10. The backer beta had very much the difficutly I expected from a pillars game. I'd say it is very reasonable to assume that they will be able to fix this - at this point they could probably just raise every enemy's level by 3 and it would be more or less alright.
  11. Yeah, this. I could tell him to go home after agreeing to work for his mighty impness.
  12. I just steamrolled this triple red skull encounter. Even left the room and let my party fight Nemnok alone, because he took looong to grind down. (Got Kaali to leave before, btw.) I even joined the cultists in summoning Nemnok. Nemnok!Nemnok!Nemnok!Nemnok!
  13. Don't let your impression from the first hour fool you. You will have tons of money once exceptional and superb weapons start dropping, let alone legendary.
  14. We need that complete wiki entry for the sword very soon.... Yes, this is intentional. No, it's not worse than the regular great sword. Wotep splits its attack in a single-target attack and an aoe one. So you do the displayed damage, but at least twice (given you hit both attacks) and up to... many times, depending on the number of enemies in the aoe cone. With the full attack, mind, so you apply ability effects as well. Plus 20% as crush damage.
  15. Yeah, Deadfire is a lot less grim than Pillars 1. No entering the first village and seeing a tree full of hanged bodies, sentenced to die because they couldn't cure (or were suspect of causing) a plague of soulles children and blighted crops. No temples filled with the spirits of the dead killed during a religious pogrom or walled in and starved to death.
  16. Everything else: Yes. That: Over my dead body. I love crazy stacking stuff. How much rings can you wear, anyway? Yeah, the non-stacking in Pillars 1 led to me shuffling around more or less the gear of my entire party every time I found another item with a bigger bonus and wanted to maximize its usefulness. I think the stacking is ok in Deadfire, boni seem overall smaller, so it's not a factor in breaking the game's difficulty.
  17. Greatsword with the added accuracy and pen bonus from devoted is excellent for Psyblade. You'll be filling your focus in one or two attacks (one with Whispers of the endless paths) and dish out 100-150 damage with soul annihilation.
  18. I have fully upgraded Modwyr on slot 2 to counter my Berserker's confusion. Simply switch to Modwyr at any point during frenzy and confusion is gone and stays that way when I switch back to Whispers of the endless paths (its aoe cone always has a friendly fire zone though, mind!).
  19. Call it what you want then, but right now the game is too easy on the higher difficulties and some classes are ridiculously better than others, and these things should be addressed because they ultimately limit the fun that is to be had with the game. Some classes are ridiculously better than others. If i happen to play such a class: 1. How i am affecting your single player experience with different class ??? 2. Obsidian will nerf this class in future and ruin my game experience and my fun, based on your "balanced" view. Lets pretend you play some class as main character. I will post and urge obsidian to ruin this class in the name of holy balanced "something". One day you will get patch and your main character is ruined. I do not think it will be fun experience for you. Nerfing classes, spells, abilities (in patches) in single player RPG is the biggest reason, the games are not fun as they used to be. You're just making up stuff now. Nobody wants to ruin your class, but maybe someone just wants to play something different than you and also wants it to, you know, not suck. Right now the game is not hard enough in any case, so most likely some stuff will be nerfed anyway. But when only some classes or combinations are viable for the higher difficulties, there is simply no choice of your own style of play, and thus less fun. Obviously the developer should try to make the maximum of class variety viable and fun to play.
  20. Thanks this is very useful If I understand what your saying. The "sleep of the dead' or what ever enchantments create branching follow on enchantments.but lock out the other branches as you choose them. The upgrades to fine, superior, legendary etc are always available when you have the resources? Yes, the quality upgrades will always be available. At least I have not found or upgraded an item where this was not the case.
  21. Yeah, people just making up words are the worst! Like that Tolkien person, what a douche Seriously, I hadn't read the OP until now, absolute train wreck of a post.
  22. I think the 'treasure trove' (?) in Dunnage / Radiant Court sells some of them.
  23. Did you fight the battle to the end and confirm their permanent death? Because I often (always?) get the message "Character death" in the combat log, when someone simply gets knocked out.
