  1. Hi! Recently I’ve been appreciating morningstars in Deadfire quite a bit, particularly the infamous Willbreaker. Since it gives you the ability to debuff both fortitude and will, I’ve been wondering how to best use this in a build. Barbarian/cipher seems like a pretty good candidate for willbreaker, or perhaps devoted/blood mage or barb/bloodmage? If you have some ideas on the build that utilizes this weapon in the best way - please share!
  2. Hey there! While this board game me some great advice on a Mystic of Wael recently that I definitely still might take out for a spin, I'm also wondering about the viability of an old(-ish?) Herald build that Nerd Commando cooked up on the Steam forums. The basic gist of his idea is that a Herald can dump DEX and still get by as a solid damage dealer & support because of how many instant-ish casts they get -- and with Brisk Recitation on, chants are growing rapidly in a way they obviously wouldn't for, say, a slow Skald. It seems really neat, and I was wondering if I could get input on some very slight tweaks to the original idea. I'm especially curious about these things: 1. Would having the self-buff of Courageous (from Hands of Light) really be frequently available enough in the late game that the long cast of Seven Nights could still be viable? 2. Does Brand Enemy really do decent damage? Does Come, Come Soft Winds? And apart from that, I'm curious about any general reactions to the build. Do the quick casts really obviate the godawful recovery? Would this be boring on a main character? Totally subjective, I know, but I'm curious to hear folks' reactions! Herald (Human) Chanter (Troubadour) / Paladin (Shieldbearer of St. Elcga) MIG - 18 / CON - 8 / DEX - 4 / PER - 18 / INT - 12 / RES - 18 1 - Sworn Enemy / Thrice She Was Wronged / Come, Come Soft Winds of Death 2 - Deep Faith 3 - And Hel-Hyraf Crashed &c. 4 - Zealous Aura / Weapon & Shield Style 5 - Divine Purpose 6 - [not sure what I'd take here!] 7 - Brand Enemy / The Shield Cracks 8 - Her Revenge Swept Across the Land 9 - Hands of Light 10 - Exalted Endurance [or Focus???] / Aefyllath Ues Mith Fyr 11 - Liberating Exhortation 12 - [The Long Night's Drink?] 13 - Practiced Healer / Seven Nights She Waited &c. And so on from there!
  3. Looking to complete my second solo POTD run as an Arcane Knight build that consists of Gold Pact / Blood Mage. My main question is regarding stats. Do stats hard / soft cap at 20 or 25? As it will impact the build. (First solo POTD run was with Powerottis Doom Fist build which was amazing) Stat Spread including taking into consideration Berath's Blessings 8 might + 2 BB = 10 11 con + 2 BB +2 from Girdle of Mortal Protection = 15 16 Dex +2 BB + 2 Fire Thrower Gloves = 20 18 perception + 2 BB + 1 from Serpents Crown = 20/21 (20 w/o Serps Crown 15 int + 2 BB + 2 Charm of Bones + 1 Thaos Helm / Serps Crown = 20 10 Resolve + 2 BB = 12 (wanted to get 15 Resolve for higher resistance to Arcane Dampener 1 floating stat point from location choice which has not been allocated yet. This is all under the assumption that I should be aiming for 20 to top off my stats but if I am wrong and stats don't hard cap at 20 and I should push as high as possible should I then dump resolve and max int / dex with starting stats? Any info you professionals can provide will be GREATLY appreciated.
  4. Hi all, I've looked everywhere I could think of and couldn't find any PotD solo turn based build so I've decided to ask for one here. I've already finished the game on PotD solo RTwP with a Devoted/Streetfighter and it was a lot of fun. However, this build obviously won't work on TB. I'm really interested in FINALLY trying the new turn based system but I only play solo PotD so here's that. A few points for this potential build: 1. I'm using Berath's Blessings so builds that are very weak at the beginning are still fine (I hope). 2. This build should be able to win against every boss (including expansions), including optionals such as the annoying Fampyr's Crypt. 3. I would very like for the build to be able to win against one of the Mega Bosses (I don't care which one), but I don't really expect to find one which does. :(( 4. Tested builds are preferred. Thanks in advance for anyone who tries to help.
  5. So I've decided to actually try to create this as a build. This is not a solo build. This has been (partially) run on Veteran's difficulty (game not complete). This is not built for min-maxing, it was built for roleplaying for a character I had. If someone wants to min-max it, make a comment and I'll add it in. (®=recommended, !=important) Stats: M: 10 C: 10 D: 15 P: 15 I: 15 R: 10 Race: Fire Godlike (Or whatever else you decide) Origin: White That Wends (Or whatever else you decide) Background: Mystic (If you haven't noticed the pattern here) Weapon style: Dual Wielding I originally chose dual wielding, but if two-handed weapons are ever looked at they would be a viable option for this. The reason for this (hypothetically) would be because of how Soul Annihilation is not a full attack, which really doesn't make full use of dual wielding. The only full attack is barbaric blow, but that's not really required for this build. Subclasses: Berserker: This provides the most bonus to the character, the increased damage, +2 armor, and increased attack speed offset the confusion. In the early game, confusion makes it difficult to use any of the offensive multi-target Cipher abilities, and Carnage does not really do enough damage to kill your party. In the mid to late game it is possible to negate confusion which allows for a respec to take multi-target abilities. Having a class that can provide heals is mandatory. Soul blade: This makes the most sense to pair with Berserker. I may give a better detailed analysis later. Abilities: In general I find it's better to take the passives over the actives first. Power Level 1: Power level 2: Power Level 3: Power Level 4: I haven't actually tested this out just yet so this is where my abilities section will end. Equipment: As stated, I'm not really a min-maxer, I just tend to use what I find/forget to change out. However, there are a couple items that are heavily recommended. Keep in mind, this play through isn't even close to being finished so if anyone has any recommendations I will add them as well. Head: Godlike (If not Godlike choose Whitewitch Mask) Amulet: ??? Armor: The Bloody Links ®®®®®®®®®®®®® Ring: ??? Ring: ??? Shoes: ??? Cape: ??? Hands: ??? Belt: ??? Pet: ??? Weapon: Modwyr Weapon: Watcher's Blade
  6. So I'm fixing to create my main for PoE2 and wanted to play through PoE with a new character. My plan for PoE2 is a Rogue/Cipher or Rogue/Wizard, but for PoE I'm going to roll either a Cipher or a Wizard. I want to know which of Cipher or Wizard would be best for a 2 weapon melee build on Hard+Expert for PoE, using the companions rather than Adventurer's Hall toons. Doesn't need to be optimized, just fun.
  7. As the title says. I'm playing pathfinder with friends but do only have a few months of experience with Dungeons and Dragons. So far I have played as a dragonborn sorcerer and a halfling warlock in two different campaigns. Sadly enough, the dragonborn sorcerer campaign seems dying out (we don't get together as much) and apparently the chance that my halfling warlock dies in the next session is really high. Thus I'm looking at a new character. I am looking to create a necromancer cleric/gunslinger build. I want my character to be able to shoot guns from a distance and raise the dead. I believe because of this I will not be able to heal though (positive energy/negative energy). Within this multiclass I want more focus on the necromancer side of this multiclass build. I need someone who can give me a start, a place to look. Domains, spells, grit, guns, race, how can I best combine these two classes? I am not aiming to create a power play build. Thank you so much!
