I have never read Dune and most of my knowledge is from the 1984 movie. I just think the man-worm is funny.1 point

I doubt he'd go if there was a serious chance he'd come back empty handed. The only thing worse than not getting aid would be going to the US and still not getting any aid. No further information, I believe. Two videos of Sokolov after the attack, then nothing since. Since neither video was absolutely definitive status is undefined, leaning towards still alive. He's still commander of the fleet and hasn't retired to spend more time with his family or similar. Neither side seems all that keen on providing incontrovertible proof people are alive to suit media schedules. Shoigu, Gersasimov and Zaluzhny were all 'dead' or 'severely injured' for weeks or months because they didn't have verifiable appearances.1 point

I finally got around to starting my Starfield journey. To the game's credit, it let me make a fat guy with terrible complexion and a sweet combover, so points right off the bat for Bethesda. I did a bunch of the early Constellation stuff and have joined UC Vanguard, but only for the purposes of eventually going Crimson Fleet. I guess eventually UC Vanguard is going to have me "infiltrate' the Crimson Fleet except I'll be doing less infiltrating and more joining, but the UC doesn't need to know about that small, insignificant detail right now.1 point

Have you been on social media? Have you been to Miami? I am pretty sure it is mostly just butt shaking. GTA has always been a parody of American excess, so I'd say they nailed the feel of Florida in that trailer.1 point

Interesting how they adapted random encounters travelling on the world map to the setting. While travelling in your void ship, you have some resource to allow your navigator to plot a safer course, which I guess reduces the chance of random encounters. I decided to do an unsafe journey, which resulted in crew members going mad, bursting into my quarters and trying to kill me, alongside some daemonettes. My party started trickling in after a while as reinforcements for me. I explored a spaceship adrift in an uninhabited star system. God those were annoying, tedious fights, with a type of enemy that did nothing but give temporary hit points to all enemies every turn. And those things respawned. I barely survived the boss fight at the end. Funny thing is, the sister of battle went from feeling useless to feeling useful halfway through. Guess I am beginning to learn her play style. On another note, this game is Bruce-friendly: you can romance Jae.1 point

Since Jodi Foster was mentioned, I thought I'd throw out a film called Nyad I watched recently with her and Annette Benning. It was a fantastic biopic. If you enjoy swimming, it was probably a more interesting film, but I expect it holds up well regardless. Diana Nyad is also just a complete badass. https://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/04/magazine/marathon-swimmer-diana-nyad.html1 point

Still with RT3. Got a good economy seed in the Japan scenario, beat it handily. One last scenario to beat then I guess I can start playing another game, the last scenario is one of the annoying ones where you need net worth. I always forget to do stock buybacks (well that and I guess I suck at earning money to do so).1 point

Whatever it is, it has Udo Kier, which is all that really needs to be said. Not gaming related, but this also has Udo Kier... singing.1 point

I have started Dark Souls Remastered for the first time. This time, I am planning to go with more melee focused character. Last time, I had to go full caster, as I was to clumsy to defeat Ornstein and Smough we’ll see How will I fare this time I have defeated two bosses so far. Taurus and Gargoyles and I have already died 16 times next in line is Capra Demon, who stopped me very first playthrough for a year or so, as he was impossible for me to defeat, untill I’ve learned how to make the fight easier, with cleverly using the arena layout1 point

Started The Outer Worlds Halcyon DLC. The antivirus quarantined one of the files, so spent some time trying to figure out why the game was not launching. Spent an hour talking to people (and checking their pockets for access cards). The game looks gorgeous (might have something to do with running at 60 FPS), from style to animations, and the dialogue options are varied. I also greatly appreciate the static skill checks.1 point

Re: Blade (Arkane) In some ways, this is even more of a departure for Arkane than Redfall was. 3rd person, Martial Arts, likely also pretty cinematic action... (anything cinematic being the counter thesis to Immersive Simisms, which tries to create a Virtual Reality Space, not a Cinematic Game Space). Plus, it still clearly looks like a project that had never happened had Arkane's money men not been so unsure after the performance of Prey and Dishonored 2. But with Dana Nightingale in a key position, could turn out to be interesting. She's the (co-) founder of the Looking Glass community at ttlg.com, former Thief fan mission designer extraordinaire and now arguably best level designer in the entire business wholesale. Re: Exodus (Archetype) Imagine Baldur's Gate's lead designer leaving Bioware-- only to form a new studio doing what appears pretty much the exact same thing Bioware's been doing since. And inevitably also directly competing with it to boot... Despite BG hardly being a super hardcore RPG to begin with, there's been conflict at Bioware even way back, of course. About whether D&D and D&D-like systems would be too complex for a mass audience. Whether any kind of form of tactical combat would be too crunchy. Where table-top-style storytelling would still fit into this. After all, DA Origins was initially pitched as a "back to the roots" project... barely half a decade after the first copies of BG1 had been sold FFS. But yeah. Still, this this looks like Mass Effect 2.0 so far. Swen Vincke likes this.1 point

Boy was that GTA VI trailer sh*t! Half the trailer it's women shaking their oversized butts...isn't that something from 10 years ago?! ...and @Lexx is right, the combat is BOUND to be crap. These folks could never get the gunplay/gunsound right in any of the GTA games.1 point

I actually started watching Diamond is Unbreakable a couple of days before you mentioned it, Netflix recently added it to the library (before there was only Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, Stardust Crusaders and Stone Ocean). Don't know exactly what it is with JoJo's, but every time I am watching an episode I am having a blast with it, and wonder why I don't go through it at a faster pace, and then I just don't... dunno, I only watch like an episode or two a week, for some reason. The episode with THE LOCK was the first one in a while that I really did not like. The last time that happened was in Phantom Blood which had a bit of a rough start in my opinion. Eh, well, can't keep it up all the time, huh?0 points

Yeah, but there's also the chance that you will be confronted by Inigo Montoya. You have to think these things through.0 points
