Oh man, it can and will. I look forward to your Andromeda playthrough as it's basically DA:I in spaaaace. A lot of interesting ideas that they bring up and then discard to instead keep on with the same tired stuff. It's not as bad if you skip as much open world stuff as possible just like you did with DA:I.2 points

Just to me up to date for Dragon Age4, I playthrough through of Dragon Age: Inquisition - did main campaign with minimal amount of open world, and completely it's three DLCs. What an absolute ****show. Someone here told me a way back that the game gets better after Hinterlands. That's really strange to me, as nothing really changes, beside a change in scenery, story missions getting worse and worse, and swaping small keep, into large, overly spread out and frustrating to navigate keep. I didn't like the main campaign. The opening hours were junky, but I liked set up for an inquisition, Demonic threat seemed interested and main villain peaked my interest (never played DLCs for DA2, so he was new to me). In true Dragon Age fashion, Inquisition has interesting world and teases interesting directions but chooses to ignore every interesting thread it could pull and went for a boring, generic story, with a bland baddy who.... what was he trying to do? Now when I think of it, I don't think I even know. Demons are just another darkspawns, and in spite of hinting at Inquisition's tricky political situation the player never gets engaged with it. Easily the most interesting mission was in the WInter Palance, but the potential of the concept was killed by tying it back to Coryphius, rather than being an intrigue of its own. Combat was tedius, main missions undercooked, open world bland and repetitive, it was nice to see returning faces but their inclusion brought nothing of value beside a shot of nostalgia. I thought companions were decent, though having to chase them around the keep, and getting teleported around with every cutscene really soured the experience for me. Stories written for the war table were more interesting than anything in the actual game. I wish I had one of my advisors' job. DLCs were fine. Open world area had at least context to it. Deep Roads dive I could do without, but what can one do with that terrible combat. Trasspaser is easily best part of the title, but keeping the only really compelling character in the game as a teaser for the sequel just feels hurtful after so many hours of absolute ****e. If all of the game was Trasspaser I would be much happier. I need to check Andromeda and Anthem at some point, as I can't just imagine things getting worse that this.2 points

It might work only on "Party" (controllable) summons, and not allied ones. Or maybe just Clones indeed. I just checked the file, but nothing suspicious, it is supposed to work on allies.1 point

@Elric Galad Animancy Cat is not applying either the might bonus or penetration bonus to essential phantom (probably other duplicates as well, but I've only tested essential phantom). Dunno if you were aware of this already. Can see the animancy cat on the left there. Has an aura of 42.6 according to my tooltip so he should be applying the summons buff but there is no damage bonus from might and no pen bonus. Doesn't seem to work in vanilla either.1 point

i've used a lot of +beneficial effect items in the my last few runs (both percentage and also fixed), and sadly chants aren't impacted by them. they are just overridden in the game mechanics to always just be based on the default chant duration + the calculated linger. that being said, salvation of time does work, but i suspect only because it happens at a different point in the game's computations than at chant-application time. i haven't checked to see if offensive chants are negatively impacted by resolve or -hostile effect stuff, but i suspect they aren't either (ISTR being able to keep up some offensive chants on Dorudugan, who has maxed resolve)1 point

I just signed my wife and I up for a marathon, so that's something. We are doing the California International Marathon in Sacramento. It isn't until December, so lots of time to work on the mileage and regret my life choices. I'm not worried about the distance, but I do want to hit a certain time, and that is going to put some pressure on. This will be the first for both of us.1 point

Space Dandy 24-26 We finally learn why the Gogol empire wants Dandy so badly. And the truth about getting bald when warping too much. Dandy is judged for murder and then captured by Dr. Gel. His friends decide to rescue him, but the Jaicro empire launches an attack and they end up in the middle of a war zone. Are you talking about the Catherine episode? This one and the last one were among the best for sure. Dr. Gel and Bea entering universes with decreasing dimensions was hilarious, especially after you learn more about Bea in the last episode. Honey figuring it out what it means to be 2D was funny too. This is a great series and I really liked how it ended.1 point

Annnd 20 minutes after I post that, it changes. The non-animated and darker version of the banner is much more tolerable on the eyes at least, and looks good design-wise. I'll leave this one alone for now. Thanks.1 point

It's still annoying on my 10.5 tablet at horizontal viewing. The typical phone vertical mobile view is much less obtrusive feeling I agree. Maybe I should turn the 55" TV vertically? The dynamic desktop scaling of banner vs. forum-width also causes it to grow larger/taller when in actual thread view, vs. the "Home" view which has the right side-bar menus, especially if it's not full-screen, at least on the 1440 and tablet. That all said, it's probably more the animation factor that bugs me the most. It's an overall nice design actually (and the t-shirts look nice ) , but almost-blinking animation is very distracting. If it was static I might tolerate it.1 point

Hi guys, Not gonna bore ya with "Add this and that" as the game is pretty much perfect, however, pretty please..... 1) Prevent auto sorting of inventories which happen..... a) ...After death; the players inventory is sorted. Each player has their own preferences and position of their items. Having to move my/their stuff every time I/they die is an annoyance. I dont die much but if this was sorted I would take more risks lol b) ...every time a new weapon is equipped, it moves the currently equipped weapon to a new empty slot. Please can you just leave items to be fixed in place until the player moves it or uses the sort function. 2) Please make Widow Daggers able to cut underwater stems/grass/clover just as the Spider Fang Dagger can. 3) Please have faster Zip lines. The ascender is far too slow and artificially slows the game pacing. Maybe have it slow early game but unlock a much faster way of using Zips late game... 4) Make Ox Horns drop as frequently as Ladybird Shells. The shells drop 150-300% per creature killed which allows for grindy but doable upgrades to all armours (in time). The way Ox Horns work at a 20-25% drop rate (1 Horn per 4/5 killed) is that the 15 Mighty Jewels (=THIRTY Supreme Whetstones (doubly as expensive as Candy)) needed would require 120-150 Ox Beetle kills. Total madness. Even 60-75 kills for a Candy upgrade to Lv 9 is a massive grind.... 5) As regards number 4) above, this could be alleviated somewhat if we could dismantle weapons/gear so that any mistakes in our early game choices could be fixed later on. Let's face it, early game we are still learning creature weaknesses, etc. This would allow more experimentation and depth to the game (and longevity).... 6) Allow us to place and pick up ALL grass/stems (armour dependent) from a pallet instead of one at a time. 7) Make current traps/defences more effective and durable. The 3 enemies at my Bird Table base simply eat my spike traps and render them useless (destroying them usually) so every time I go back to base I have to take care of them (when they spawn) (EIGHT) I have a powerful PC (but use a controller) and in combat, very often, when trying to drink a smoothie in the Hotpouch wheel the command is ignored/not registered. The wheel is often then closed requiring you to open it again. This is death when facing the hardest enemies (on Woah). Bandages on the hotpouch wheel also require you to mash the A button to get you to apply one. This mechanic is worse in combat than when not.... 9) We need a triangular corner piece for gable ends. When building a 5 x 5 area and I put a roof on, I have to leave a gap at the top as there is no piece that fits. This can be fixed by building a 6 x 6 area (or any even sided area) and using 2 triangular pieces but most players like odd numbered sides because thay can have a central door/exit which isnt possible on an even sided area. 10) Please make Natural Explorer resume immediately after combat ends instead of the 4-5 seconds it currently takes... Thanks for the wonderful and refreshing game!!!1 point

Back to talking about the big picture ramifications of the war and Russia's and the world's future directions, here's a link to a think-tank site where there are several very interesting articles: https://www.institutmontaigne.org/en/series/ukraine-shifting-world-order One of the early pieces by Angela Stent about Putin's worldview is particularly interesting to me.1 point

The big problem I have with the banner is that it's not specific enough to the forum. The Obsidian shirts are ok, but what I really want is a shirt with a stylized image of Josh Sawyer with a caption that reads "BALANCED" or a "you naughty " coffee mug.1 point

The banner is five times larger on the desktop browser (in 1920x1080, on Firefox, that is) than it is on mobile. The banner is fine on my phone. It is still there and isn't nearly as obtrusive as the deskopt variety is.1 point

Blackwater was so weird. Everything was hard right up until the boss which you oneshot. edit: I am way overleveled for the ivory sanctum. It's almost comical after blackwater, everyone is just exploding as soon as they appear.1 point

Yeah, that's where I got the bugcheck critical error from. But it doesn't give much info, just that's the name/reason for the crash. Google says it could be caused by any of a host of things, software drivers/dlls, hardware, etc. Not terribly helpful. >.> I don't even know if the game and the firefox tab crashes and the reboots are related or just coincidence. 7 Days is pretty hard on hardware specs voxel, alpha, unoptimized - so maybe it just triggers an issue that's cropped up rather than being a cause of the issue. And whatever it is it doesn't happen every day. Currently testing Precison's/GPU "power target" setting. I don't know what that does technically, seems to do with max wattage target, all I know is lowering it reduces gpu-load temps but doesn't seem to alter FPS/general performance in any way noticeable to me. I had it at 90percent - so gpu temps were 68-72 at a middling/quiet fan rpm. I lowered it to 80, so gpu temps run more like 60-64.1 point

Phew Wing Commander complete fully. Got the Medal of Valor for not having Maniac die, never knew he was that bonkers - killed me once with friendly fire. Got the good ending, the Firekka drove off the Kilrathi. The last mission was trivial, apparently if one wave runs away the other waves don't show up.1 point

I'm not finished the game yet, but I can already tell that in the future, I wont be buying any Obsidian games on good faith. There is a way to do open world right, and this is not it. I have to admit, as two separate stories, the main quest and factions are not bad. I play neutral good characters, and I'm still trying to decide who to side with. The dilemma of siding with a practice you disagree with in the hopes of creating a better future vs. sticking to your guns and throwing the region in chaos is interesting. I also dont mind the gods. My Watcher wants to bring them down, so being helpless against them while knowing they are fake burned in a good way. However, the fact they combined an open world, with a pretty URGENT main quest, and then did absolutely nothing to tie them together or to create a smooth timeline is sloppy and killing the game for me. The factions and their quests are the meat of the game, so as a player I want to do them (otherwise, why did I pay $50??), but story wise, I cant come up with a plausible reason my Watcher would bother. I really thought that when you went to talk to the Queen, it would set up the game. You would get a chance to explain what is happening, she would reveal a Big Obstacle stopping you from reaching Eothas, and each of the factions would offer to help (if you earn their loyalty) and invite you to talk further. Hell, I would even have accepted that the Big Obstacle is that I need to buy a bigger boat that can sail over lava or some ****. At least then I could justify doing the quests to earn gold. But no one really took the soul-sucking god thing seriously, and the game gave me zero reason to stop my hunt for Eothas so that I could become a terrorist who blows up buildings???? (And if the game does justify it, plz let me know. I need a reason why my Watcher is charting islands for a mapmaker while people are dying @_@) Like, I ended up with an immersion breaking scenario, where I explored a bit straight after leaving Port Maje, did Hasongo without realizing it would advance the main quest, and now have to justify sailing away from Eothas to answer the summons of some random faction and to talk to the Queen??? I guess they didn't want to cut off the people who like to power through the main quest line, but the main quest shouldn't be so completely cut off from the rest of the game.1 point

Hi - I was thinking it might be fun to make a Swashbuckler/Pirate build - basically a rogue with dual-wielding rapier/stiletto and pistol skills, focusing on cunning and underhand attacks. Perhaps an aristocrat fallen on hard times, who's a bit of a cad. What would be good starting choices for such a build? Not so interested in traps/thieving. Also - how easy are the first pistols to get hold of (no spoilers please)?1 point

So I haven't played the game in for a few years because I keep getting distracted, but I wanted to get into it this past weekend, and so I did. However, after I get out of the area where you save Oswald from the cultists the map freezes in a FoW and I can't go anywhere. When I exit and reload the game the save file is corrupted and says backer beta dlc missing. I'm not sure what that means exactly, but it's kind of frustrating when you sink a few hours into a game only to get hard-locked out of progressing and losing all of it. Is there a way to fix this so I can continue this save file or am I SoL?0 points
