So... pathfinder: wrath of the righteous next4 points

As a general statement, I agree with this. However, there are circmustances. In 1993-1994, I worked at an orthopaedic hospital with a separate ward reserved for people coming in from the former Yugoslavia with 0-3 limbs or so, many of them children, some of whom had just learned to walk but then were no longer able to. Let us just say that even for someone personally untouched by the conflict itself, working there was eye-opening on several levels. I don't know if you have family, but given what we've read of the atrocities committed by the Russians, I can imagine several fathers being prepared for anything after being forced to witness all sorts of things done to their wives and children. It's not an excuse, and it doesn't make it all right, but I can see how it might go. Now, we don't know if it was a suicide attack (although that would seem most likely, in my understanding), and we don't know whether there was anything like this behind it. But I just wanted to point out that there might be circumstances where even that may become a course of action less outrageous than it looks like, simply as an act.4 points

Didn't part of the "fix" for Azata that stopped favorable and zippy magic working on kineticist blasts also apply to other slas what the Devil gets? It's moot for me, because despite my edgelord forum persona killing Aivu is a bridge too far. What would Usako say? I think the Aeon > Devil makes a lot more sense thematically, but I'm not sure how it is mechanically. Aivu smelled a cookie and Aivu will go anywhere for cookies. Bruno won't play Azata because he'll butcher the Desnans dispense Law and Order in Act 1. Then go Legend because Aeon kills his romance2 points

Nah, it's perfectly fine, especially if you use spoiler tags; I looked at them earlier today and I already don't remember what was in them, . I'm pretty good at preventing stuff from being committed to memory if I don't want it to be.2 points

I'll be more careful with the spoilers. What I mentioned was vague or what was already mentioned in episode 12, but the gifs might be a different story.2 points

My adventures in ToB are progressing nicely, after killing Yaga-Shura I decided to complete Watchers Keep ToB really is my best RPG of all time for several reasons that include I love all games that use the D&D, or similar, rulesets and FR is my favorite setting The high level battles are varied and exciting, it reminds me of D:OS2 The overall ToB narrative is excellent where you face different Bhaalspawn and where you have to consider your own dark destiny. Side quests are worthwhile and interesting The party interaction and Romance arcs are very entertaining Watchers Keep is probably my favorite side quest of all time, I loved the different levels and how you had to navigate them. At the end when I faced Demogorgon I realized I had been lied to by Odren so I returned to him and confronted him. He went into the Keep by himself and I sealed Watchers using the Ritual Scroll from the ghost. I decided its better not to try to kill Demogorgon because how that might unbalance the Abyss and trapping him within the Keep seemed more poetic and painful. And the one battle to unlock the seals with the Demons and the Hive Mother was the hardest battle I have ever had but I used summons strategically, spells to remove magic, delayed AOE spells like Skull Trap and HLA like Hardiness and I won on the 5th time Im am now on my way to the Oasis, grand events await me2 points

Have a look at the sec cam footage from under the rail bridge and from about 23s on you can clearly see that the road markings and much of the right hand side of the road- where the truck was- has been obliterated. Also the road is clearly sagging down, rather than lifted up as it would from an explosion below, and the explosion is not deflected around the road as it would be if it came from below. I haven't seen the discussion you're referring to specifically, but I'd put money on them looking at the section which has partially collapsed into the sea which is visible in the later stills and still has intact markings. There's actually an entire section behind that has fallen into the sea completely, which is where the explosion occurred. You aren't going to see road marking damage on that because the section simply isn't there to be seen but as above it's visible on the initial video. The explosion also occurred at an inflection point on the bridge- where it starts to rise to pass over the ship channel; most obvious on the road sec cam footage. That's always a weak spot as you cannot set the sections flush with each other, and suggests very strongly a manual trigger to specifically target that weak point. Let's be frank here, most of the theorycrafting is desperately trying to find a way that it isn't a suicide attack, but something unmanned. If it were in Afghanistan, Syria, or even Russia a few years ago and we got this footage there would be essentially zero doubt what had happened, it's just because people don't want Ukrainians to be blowing themselves up like ISIS/ Al Qaeda/ Chechens/ LTTE etc that there's arguments going on.2 points

... and other random AoE spells. To be more explicit, I'm speaking about spells from this list : - Storm of Holy Fire - Minoletta's Missile Salvo - Meteor Shower - Magran's Might (not technically an AoE, but follow the same obscure rule for its Pulses) - Great Maestorm* * Maelstorm is a kind of double spell. It has a classic Crush/Frost pulsating AoE (such as the Symbols) and a random Fire/Shock AoE. The 2 effects have no connection. I will be speaking about the random Fire/Shock AoE part below. 1) Pulse : These spells do have pulses, as for classic pulsating spells but it does not appear in their description, or sometimes a 3s pulse appear in the description but is wrong. (From the gamedata file, they have a pulse attribute of 3s but this attribute isn't used) What they do not say is that they have a "number of random hit" attribute that appears in their gamedata file. You can therefore deduce the pulse interval by dividing their duration by this "number of random hit" as the "number of random hit" stands for the TOTAL number of pulse for the base duration. Here are the actual numbers : - Storm of Holy Fire : 12 pulses, happening every 0.75s for 9s - Minoletta's Missile Salvo 12 pulses, happening every 0.125s for 1.5s - Meteor Shower 16 pulses, happening every 0.5s for 8s - Magran's Might 8 pulses, happening every 1s for 8s - Great Maestorm 6 pulses, happening every 1s for 6s (for Shock/Fire part) The pulses do happen periodically for the duration. Now what's interesting is that you can extend the duration as for other Pulsating spells. As for Pulsating spells, Intellect does matter, but Power Level has not effect on duration. So with INT 20, you'll get 50% more random pulses. However, there seem to be something that causes having about 1 less pulse that what you could expect. For example : - with 10 INT Magran's Might has 7 pulses. - with 20 INT Magran's Might has 11 pulses. I can't say if it's always minus 1 or if it could be more or less in certain case. Let's say it's 1 less pulse as an approximation. (This is the contrary of normal pulstating spells that gets 1 more pulse than you could expect : a pulse happens at 0s) 2) AoE These spells have 2 AoE sizes : - The first one is rather big but isn't extended by INT (what you see extended by INT when aiming Maestorm is the extension of the normal Ice/Crush pulstating component.) - The second one is smaller and happens at a random position in the original AoE. It is extended by INT. What can be surprising the position of the secondary AoE is the position of the CENTER of the smaller AoE. So, if it happens on the border of the initial AoE, due to its own radius, you can hit something OUTSIDE of the initial AoE (friendly or not, depending if you are in the friendly zone or not of the secondary radius. Basically, you have more chance of hitting : - A bigger target - A target closer to the center of the AoE - When you have high INT - When the secondary radius is bigger in comparison of the first. See below the comparison of Initial (not modifiable by INT) /Secondary radius (modifiable by INT) : - Storm of Holy Fire Initial 5m, Secondary 1.5m - Minoletta's Missile Salvo Initial 2.5m, Secondary 1.5m - Meteor Shower Initial 5m, Secondary 1.5m - Great Maestorm (random part) Initial 5m, Secondary 2.5m (not displayed by the ability) Therefore Missile Salvo and to a lesser extant Great Maelstorm have higher chance of hitting. Missile Salvo usually hit the "main center target" with all its projectiles. 3) What is special about Maelstorm Maelstorm is doubled by a classic pulsating effect which AoE is 5m extendable by INT. However, only the "red" part of the UI display matters for the random component. I said random secondary AoE can happen at any position within the initial random AoE. That isn't true for Maelstorm though. Maelstrom pick up a random valid target within its initial AoE and applies its 2.5m AoE to hit. This means : - Maelstorm random pulses will ALWAYS hit something (as long as there is at least one valdi target in the RED AoE) - If there is a single valid target within Maelstorm RED AoE, it will get all the pulses (with 20 INT : 4 Frost/Crush pulses and 8 Shock/Fire random pulses. Goodbye !) - If your foes are clumped within the RED AoE, they will get all the Pulse (originating from one of them) That is one of the reason why Maelstorm feels so powerful But also unique. Now that you know the rules, you are free to use them in a smart way !1 point

the disappointing part for us were how few interesting (not necessarily difficult) encounters we had during the first nine isles... which 'cause o' the failure o' a boss to spawn is as far as we got. yeah, a few o' the undertows made us adjust our playstyle, and those will only be surprising on our first playthrough, but the dlc so far felt like little more than a mechanical and repetitive slog... albeit with a couple noteworthy items o' loot and a whole lotta sellable stuff. got a swell chapeaux and a pair o' gloves which is both improving our dual-wielding and high crit main character. there is also a nice heavy crossbow. haven't tested the longsword to see if the extra damage is added separate or not. all too often the additional damage is calculated in a new category and is frequent resisted by enemies. regardless, we will have a whole lotta extra coin when we finally make it to the abyss, and while xp growth in the isles is not particular quick, we nevertheless might just make level 15 as we enter the midnight fane. am s'posing the dlc serves its purpose if you are using it to test builds, but so far there were few encounters which impressed us insofar as level design. the game is especial buggy at the moment in many small and easily overlooked ways, but am expecting numerous such bugs will be addressed sooner as 'posed to later. the downside is, based on past owlcat experience, a few o' the new bugs will never be fixed. that said, am suspecting our dlc killing bug gets fixed soonish. am genuine impressed by owlcat speed in responding to wotr game stoppage obstacles. HA! Good Fun!1 point

You''re offering nothing objective here. It's a picture of a destroyed building, with zero context. There's no proof of what this building is, no proof of who destroyed it, not even any proof this building is in the vicinity of Ukraine.1 point

Now that I have the actual number about Maelstorm : This spell indeed feels quite above the curve, even for a tier 9 spells. 1) Choosing a "Benchmark" I loved spamming Minoletta's Missile Salvo as SC Wiz. This spell basically sniped a couple of foes and certainly feels powerful. I'm using it to compare because : - it is considered a good spell, and feel relevant enough to go SC Wiz - it scales similarly with INT, MIG, PL - its projectiles have high chance to connect because the impact per projectile / random radius radio is 0.6. Maelstrom has 0.5 but since it auto-targets at least one potential target, I consider it has similar chances of hitting foes within its area Without taking into account Intellect, Might, Power Level, its base damages are : (12 ticks - 1 for random pulse spell) x 20,5 damages = 225,5 base damages With good multiplicative stats, it's no surprise that it can one shot foes ! Now Great Maelstorm used vs 1 foe (all random pulses will hit that 1 foe) : (6 ticks - 1 for random pulse spell) x 50 damages + (2 pulse tick +1 for pulse spells) x 38 damages = 364 base damages Both are dual type of damages, but Maelstorm has 7 PEN on first effect and 9 PEN on the second one. Maelstorm has a much wider AoE, but it must be said that Salvo does its damages almost instantly (3.75s at max Intellect) so that's surely something in its favor. I would expect both spells to have similar performance in term of damages and PEN. As calculated above it is not the case. 2) Proposed reasonable nerf for Maelstorm : Pulse attack : 36-40 damages, 7 PEN -> 36-40 damages, 6 PEN Random Pulse attack : 40-60 damages, 9 PEN -> 35-45 damages, 6 PEN (EDIT : changed a bit from first version considering the massive damages from Meteor Shower) New damages computation : (6 ticks - 1 for random pulse spell) x 40 damages + (2 pulse tick +1 for pulse spells) x 38 damages = 314 base damages That's still higher than Salvo (I don't want to destroy Maeltstorm either) but significantly less. Justifications : - PEN nerf feels good IMHO. Note that as a Tier 9 ability, it gets a natural +4 PEN on top of everything it gets from PL. It makes picking PEN Talents and Fury subclass more relevant. It corrects the weirdness of a displayed PEN of 7 while a part of the spell is actually different. It makes Maelstorm less efficient vs some part of your foes, so you're less likely to auto-win everything, while being still relevant vs many foes. - The random part ticks more and can really be abused by proper placement, once you have read this thread and become aware of Maelstorm targetting. Knowledge is power. This thread is a kind of Maelstorm buff in disguise . Also I plan to out back KW as in vanilla : - Both attacks get the Elements KW (Storm was missing from the attacks ; not sure it is intended but only Lord Dalryn's Voulge affect this KW AFAIK, and Lord Dalryn's Voulge affects PL so having the KW at ability level is enough) - Random pulse get the Electricity, Fire and Wind KW as in vanilla game. - Pulse get the Water KW as in vanilla game. Quite symetric this way. I know CP added the Frost KW because of the Cold damages, but I think the Water KW made the spell more unique. It has specific interaction with Tekehu (with Revku Cloak, he can stand in Maelstorm unarmed ; with Amira's Wing, he can be immune to the cold attack and gets +15 defense vs the random fire/shock) and next BPM version of Fire Shield (will be immune to Frost but as currently be extinguished by Water). Water benefits from the same Talent as Frost. CP adding Frost KW to the Fire / Shock attack was probably an oversight The spell is about "cold Water" (as it appear in the description) as Boiling Spray was about "hot water". It makes some sense that cold Water target Fortitude while actual Hail (Frost KW) targets Reflex.1 point

My error doesn't look like that, but I am getting what I think is a very similar kind of error: I am running Windows 11 logged into Windows with my Microsoft account, and I have confirmed that account *is* the one tied to my GamePass account. That GamePass account is the account logged into the XBox PC client in which I'm launching Grounded. So, all the Microsoft identity bits on my end seem correct -- I'm wondering, given your error @0wolfman0, if the problem is in whatever underlying SSO is happening between Obsidian and MS's systems. I have not been able to fix this so far. I have tried doing a repair on the install, and I have confirmed that launching other games in the same XBox PC client on the same PC works just fine. All local network and internet connectivity appears in order. I logged into these forums to write this post using Microsoft auth, so some SSO is working between Obsidian and Microsoft, but whatever the Grounded client itself may not be (assuming it's separate). Obsidian/Grounded Support, haaalp!1 point

am thinking the obvious thing the new constantine needs is a unique and defining look. like it or not, the appearance o' a comicbook character is important, and am suspecting one reason why john constantine were popular in comics were his alloy depiction. += jenna coleman as constantine were ok, but were nothing 'bout the character which made us want to see more. on the other hand, a corinthian spinoff would personal be more intriguing than additional jenna coleman constantine material. The VA for Shiina has a rather annoying tendency to yell in an ear-piercing manner (might be a slight exaggeration, though) and the second episode features one of your favorite character archetypes, s-s-shy, slightly st-t-t-uttering Akira who talks somewhat silently and who... Aside from that, the main impression I have from the first three episodes is like watching a slowly unfolding eldritch horror show set in a rather colorful and otherwise fairly normal school setting. Shiina goes to school, there's a Kendo class where she meets Akira, she cooks, goes to a restaurant and talks to her Patrick, who does very little else than just creepily stare at her. Everything just feels wrong, in the same way authors describe their eldritch horrors. Unknowable, reality bending. Although the soft piano music underlying some scenes is an inversion of the trope just as well. It is slow piano music all right, but it's not soft. Generally, this series is hell on the ears. Is it terrible? Yes, most definitely. Just probably not in the way you asked. I have no idea where it is going with whathever it is, but it's probably going to continue being first team all American creepy, like D1ck Cheney: Heh. Here's the opening: It's cute and fuzzy until Shiina and Patrick turn into Godzilla like monstrosities and attack each other in the city. Uhm, yeah. Magic eight ball says: Unclear. I have no idea what is going on yet, no idea where it will go and no idea if I like it - let alone anyone else.1 point

Well, if it was a truck bomb and not something under the bridge, it makes things even more interesting, as the truck was driving from Russia to Crimea. According to BBC Russians are already investigating someone from Krasnodar area. edit: probably unrelated to this event, yesterday started big purge in Moscow, and army officers have been detained (report by Ukrainian intelligence, Russian media did not report such things happening). Some Russian milblogers started writing, that this explosion helped Shoygu to stay in his function a little bit longer, and there are starting to be rumours (probably psyops, but in Russia you never know ). That the Crimea Bridge incident was also a part of the ongoing war between Russian MoD, FSB and Prigozhin. Just few hours after the explosion, the security of the bridge was handed to FSB by Putin himself.1 point

If NYT is to be believed the bomb was truck-borne and strike organized by Ukrainian intelligence service. We can't be sure the driver was aware of his cargo, but yes - many in the west will not like the similarity.1 point

The blast radius indeed mostly depends in priority on "Blast radius" data : - "Large" : 5m - "Medium" : 2.5m - "Small" : 1.5 - If blast size is equal to "Override", the ability uses the Override value instead. Often Override value is set in the gamedata file to the "right" value (example : if blast size is Small, they put 1.5 in Override value) but it's not actually used. For Maelstrom, there are 3 AoE : - Large 5m extended by INT for the crush/frost pulse - Large 5m NOT extended by INT for the hazard zone - Medium 2.5m extended by INT centered on a random target within the hazard zone for the shock/fire pulse (see above, I described the later 2 after saying the crush/frost pulse works like any classic pulse spell)1 point

Reason I don't mention Clear Out is because Barb Retalliation or Heart of Fury offers similar effects. The obvious counterargument is Clear Out comes available much earlier though which is valuable. I suppose something that puts me off Druid at the higher PL is the good stuff is summons which I generally avoid because it can cause performance issues for me. I know the Summons can be powerful and resseruction is handy but they are 2 things I personally avoid when I play. Summons for the performance issue and usually I will just reload if someone dies because to me it means I ****ed up (even if the fight is still going to be a win).1 point

You could open combat with a mortar shot with Gouging Strike + modal and then switch to the melee setup. That way you will apply the neverending DoT on a bunch of enemies, not just a single one. In solo fights I find this very useful since they usually last a lot longer than with a party and the endless but low-ticking DoT pays off its cost. It works best from stealth when you first lure many enemies to a spot with Dazzling Lights (Guile gets refreshed if you don't start the fight too soon after casting it. Don't hit anybody with the AoE, just place it somewhere the enemies should go to). Basically enemies are hitting each other. It ends when you run - NOT when you use Escape or Flagellant's Path or Bounding Boots. You can prolong the base duration of 3 with INT and Power Levels and so on. The redirected attacks don't count as misses. It will prevent Ripostes entirely but can be a lifesaver if you can keep it up long enough.1 point

Actually Kerch Bridge was priority nr1 since day 1, as this was used as a primary supply route to southern occupied Ukraine. Unfortunately it was always out of range of UA weapons. edit: Russia already ordered rationing of goods in groceries in Crimea. Little bit insight on how it was used, and how it complicates things for Russia.1 point

I think you should have a store on the quest computer to spend raw science on bug parts. Late game, I have a ton of raw science with nothing to use it on. It'd give an outlet for it and a reason to continue doing tasks. It'd also be nice to have a craftable computer you could put in your base.1 point

am kinda simultaneous doing treasure of the midnight isles in act iii with our aeon as well as a new run with a dirge bard. for the hell o' it, we redid all o' blackwater on hard difficulty with the aeon and am now doing the dlc but have only finished island 1. the dlc vendor sells 99 scrolls o' everything, a large bag of holding, as well as a few endgame belts. is a lockpick iii at the bottom o' the regular item menu, which likely is unnecessary as is only a handful sooper difficult locks/traps in the game, but it were interesting nevertheless. maybe this eve we will go through island seven o' the first group... or maybe we finish off grey garrison with the bard. perhaps we finish off some rl stuff which has bee demanding our attention? unlikely. @Gorth consider the search o' all rooftops accessible with mass dimension door. is not a huge amount o' content on roofs, but there are a couple o' nice bits o' loot. warning: there is a particular challenging rooftop encounter in the same map as the slave markets. you might wanna save that fight until you are all but finished with alushinyrra. It's a bit more than that. Erdogan is a big fan of neo Ottoman irredentism/ revanchism and its antecedents/ precedents (eg Misaki Milli). That's a claim on big chunks of Iraq including Kirkuk and Mosul, big chunks of Syria including Aleppo, a lot of Greek islands, a big chunk of Armenia and Georgia and Bulgarian Thrace that he sees as perfectly legitimate. Turkey has already invaded Syria (twice, and outright annexed Iskanderun after a bogus referendum predicated on Misaki Milli), Iraq and Cyprus; two off those under Erdogan's leadership. It's very unlikely any of them are getting the Turks out any time soon. Turkey is always threatening Greece though, and nothing ever comes of it. Erdogan is a lot more shouty than normal because his economy is imploding as he counters runaway inflation (a mere 83%) by, uh, continually cutting interest rates. That has also resulted in the Lira losing 80% of its value vs the USD in the past 4 years. He's lost control of the three largest cities in Turkey and needs to appeal to nationalism to not lose the upcoming general election.1 point
