  1. After everything the happened over the last month and a half I didn't keep up with the garden. Most of it was claimed by weeds/lack of irrigation. But the pumpkins did well and I got 21 well formed and medium to large pumpkins out of them. I cut them all yesterday, loaded them in the truck, and donated them to the Baptist Church in Covington for the kids to carve today. I was talking to the pastor who I've become friends with. He's a nice fella but then I've never met a pastor who was an a----e. He invited me to come to the carving after services today for lunch and what sounds like a good time. I declined. I'm a religious man in my own way. But I've become so introverted and anti-social in my old age that a gathering like that sounds.... ugh no thank you. I've spoken, texted or zoomed with G almost every day. Often more than one per day. I can't wait to see her Saturday Morning. Long distance dating sucks. That is definitely something I want to talk to her about next week. I've got some ideas about what a future with her might look like but I don't know how she feels about it. I'm always worried about "moving too fast" but at the same time, we're not kids. We're both over 50 and have "been around the block" and know how relationships work and how to make them work. So it really comes down to what we each want. I was thinking about what Shady & Hurlshot said. I'm willing to go "all in" and start a life there with her if she is. We're not there yet but if that is what it takes I've decided I'm willing to push all my chips to the center of the table for her. I feel good about this one. But I felt good about Stephanie too. The thing that is both good and terrible about having your heart broken is it makes you wary. Speaking of Stephanie she called me Friday night. I wondered if she would. She actually sent me a friend request on FB but I use it so infrequently I didn't even know. This board and a few others like the home improvement forums on Reddit are about the entirety of my "social media". We chit chatted for about 30 minutes. She asked how things are going with G. Made it a point to tell me she wasn't seeing anyone but didn't go beyond that. I'm really not sure what she wants or if she even wants anything. But I'm very wary about telling her much. I can't get a read on her. My first thought was she wanted to soothe her conscience by building a friendly relationship with me after such a bad parting and three years of passively hostile no contact. That may be all it is. I thought I knew her but she is the one who really taught me no one can really know anyone. I've been doing lots of work around the house lately. Catching up on projects I've postponed. I've deiced to get rid of some of the junk I've accumulated. I even decided to sell some of my firearms. I signed up with gunbrokers.com to use their service. They take care of all the legalities and documentation and keeps the transaction clean and legal. It is a worry that a firearm you owned is used for something terrible down the road. That's one of the reasons I never sell them. But I do need to keep my personal belongings a little leaner and easier to move if I decide to do that.

  2. The possibility to name a chest. When aiming the chest, the name appears on screen (beside the crosshair or above the chest for example). OR The possibility to display an item on the chest's front like item frame in minecraft. To change the item it could be with a slot allowing only 1 item in it on the chest inventory menu (to avoid missclick while opening the chest wich is frustrating in Minecraft x) ) This could work with chest, basket, and any other container to come

  3. Please, please be civil over this. All I ask is you come on here without the intent to bully, or harass me over ideas. I welcome seeing other ideas for the game, but these are just my own personal suggestions I'd like to see after playing the game on Steam for a bit. 1: I'd like to see Praying Mantis as an enemy. They are a beautiful and deadly insect and will wait holding deadly still until they see you move before striking and I think would be a great addition to the arsenal of bugs that will try and eat you. 2: Fur from creatures like squirrels as a craftable ingredient would be nice and could be used to make warmer clothing, especially if you guys add in snow and the like later on. 3: Maybe something like a butterfly wing glider, along with Butterflies..or maybe a butterfly mount? 4: Would be cool to find a discarded shoe in game to turn into a base...no? Maybe just me? 5: I saw someone else put this, but I too would like to be able to customize the hero better, more hair style and color options at least. 6: Ridable Grasshopper?

  4. Took a general pause from things today, and put my focus on something different. The fruits and spices have been soaking in the brandy for the last week or so, so it was time to mix up the rest of the christmas cake and now it's in the oven baking. The only acceptable mention of christmas prior to halloween...

  8. Any chance to see an update bringing different sort of storage and container ? I would love to see a storage dedicated to stones for example, like a big basket actually filled with some pebbles (and the more the storage is filled, the more there is pebbles on the model, letting me know where I'm in my stock of stone) A sort of clay and leaf tank to store sap ? A big bag crafted from ropes of dry leaf to store fuzz ? Etc etc

  9. After 1600+ hours this is the first time I've done a combination of: - turning on Hylea's challenge (requiring you to escort and protect Vela) - having Rekke in my party as a primary companion Eventually Rekke learns common, as anyone who's used Rekke might know. What you might not know is that at one point Vela and Rekke interact and it becomes clear that Rekke is teaching Vela Seki. (in German because of my mod/I'm learning, but roughly translated: Vela: Hello Rekke: Have you returned for more Seki lessons? Vela: Do we really have to? Rekke: [something something in Seki] Vela Vela: [something something in Seki]) Just never fails to impress me how Obsidian adds these little bits of reactivity (with voice actors, no less) in extremely obscure situations that ~1% of the player base may ever encounter. (e.g. how many people have ever turned on hylea's challenge? and then played long enough with rekke for rekke to learn common?)

  11. the numerian blade is curious. provides a chance to select an enhancement bonus you likely has already achieved via a belt or helm or whatever. on the other hand, a few o' the saving throw bonuses provided by the sword become increasing useful as you get deeper in the game and there is fewer ways to stack additional bonuses to saves needed to overcome jaw-dropping dcs. the meta knowledge aspect of weapons is one o' the things which annoy us 'bout pathfinder crpgs. as an example, we were gonna make a crossbow wielding archer who takes levels in sohei to get the extra attacks and then use the curious implementation o' mythic finesse to allow dex modifiers to be applied to weapons such as crossbows. crossbows have a greater crit threat range than long or shortbows, so w/o the strength aspect holding one back, crossbows are a reasonable alternative for an archer. original the plan were to go with heavy crossbows, 'cause, duh-- heavy crossbows do more damage. the thing is, there is better light crosbows in the game, and possible the best heavy crossbows don't actual function as designed. so, on a future wotr run, if we create our crossbow archer, it will be to take advantage o' light crossbows. there is objective good weapon choices in wotr, and as pathfinder rules makes advantageous to specialize in a single weapon, choosing the right weapon will impact the efficacy o' your character. meta silliness. as an aside not directed at shady, while am one o' the persons most frequent identifying annoying wotr bugs in this thread, am gonna recognize the number of quest breaking bugs is current lower than we expected, and is relative few genuine game breakers at this point. relative few. if you had the game breakers which were more common at release in september, am sympathizing, but is better than we expected given the trends from the beta. am gonna suggest for many players the game is playable in its current state, but it will remain individual frustrating as respec is still wonky and it is extreme ez to choose a feat, spell, power or whatever and then find out some hours removed that your level-up choice does not provide the results advertised. am also not sure how much benefit one gets from waiting past the next couple months for increased stability as owlcat is gonna shift effort to dlc which will create new bugs. kingmaker trajectory for stability does not provide confidence a year-long wait is gonna fix anywhere near all major bugs, and what an individual considers an essential bug will depend on their build choices or party configuration. HA! Good Fun!

  15. Yeah, he also walks in on Mayuri and Kurisu taking a shower (albeit out of concern for their safety, but seriously, try asking before walking in what's clearly audible as a running shower?), and while he gets yelled at and Mayuri tells him that she's disappointed and embarrassed seemingly nothing comes of it. That entire scene, they send him shopping so they can shower without being afraid of being spied on, hey girls, how about you re-think your relationship with Okarin? The hell... never mind Daru having a key and being able to show up willy nilly anyway, and he's the self-styled Lord of Perverts... So, I'm done with 11 and have to admit that I don't really have any idea what the big reveal or twist that's coming up in 12. Which means it was either really well hidden or never properly set up. With the way the show is going I'm not going to give it the benefit of the doubt and it's probably the latter. However, there are some random things that could or could not be: Nothing of that is worthy of an "I did not expect that." though. So, time for a shower and the mythical twelth episode. I, uhm, also get the feeling that this would work much better as the visual novel it started out as. I wonder if that game also has branches where Ruka gets assaulted by Okarin. What the hell, Tiger's-Eye? You suck.

  16. Personally, I don't think China will invade Taiwan. Not because of any military deterrent though. The ultimate problem that Taiwan has is that while the Chinese have air superiority they'll be able to degrade AA and anti ship capabilities pretty cheaply using Artsakh like tactics. Sure, you can fire off missiles, but you'll lose the launcher and won't be able to replace them. You may also have to shoot at very low value targets- the Armenians shot down literally dozens of ancient biplanes; in the end they had the choice of not using their AA, in which case it might as well not exist, or using it and having it blown up. Chinese leadership is risk averse, and the risks of invading Taiwan is one thing that could get Xi outright removed in the medium term and tarnish his legacy permanently. The legitimacy of the CCP is almost completely based on sustained economic improvement, and the results of a Taiwan invasion would see the Chinese economy implode. It wouldn't be great for near everyone else either, but a lot of societal domestic issues are ratcheted down by ~10% growth (even if nominal) within China and a whole generation+ has known nothing but such growth*. The counter balance to that is Xi wanting to leave a permanent legacy, and the big short term nationalist boost that a successful 'reunification' would garner. But in that Erdogan makes a good comparison- nationalist boosts to popularity wear out pretty quickly, and you need more and more of them more and more quickly to get the same effect. They aren't an answer to potential longer term economic woes. *It also has to be said, we've heard that China has peaked about as long as that too. That will be true at some point, inevitably, but it's been the geopol equivalent of working nuclear fusion for the past twenty years; always coming, never arriving. To be fair, plenty of people talk up US government debt as a similar ticking time bomb, and it hasn't gone off yet either.

Packers' All-Pro LT, Pro Bowl LG, starting C, WR2, Pro Bowl OLB1, ILB2, All-Pro CB1, and CB2 all with injuries that have taken them out for games, and will be missing all but the CB2 @Bengals in an hour. This team is danged lucky to be 3-1 right now, and I think if we somehow win this one, I'll be a true believer...but I'm expecting a loss, because that is just too much to overcome. (e): Post-game:

  20. Not sure if it's really a problem if some players do abuses with the textual idea. It's their gameplay afterall. And for the item frame, I don't get your point. I'm just suggesting to let players put a display on the chest to open the right one in one glance. For example, in minecraft I put an item frame with cobblestone block displayed on a chest, then I know that it's in this chest I've put every ressources relative to stone. Since I do the same thing in Grounded (putting pebble, quartzite, clay, etc in one chest ; all insects loots in another one ; etc ) it results in a bunch of chests in my base and I would love to know whats inside each of them without opening 3 or 4 just to store the 2 ant asses I looted seconds ago.

  21. My thoughts exactly. I come to this thread every now and then and this is the thought I leave it with.

  22. You know to be fair they would have to put in a filter to prevent textual abuse as you know how crude some people get. Also for the item frames wouldn't be necessary if they just gave us better icons. Like ants, stinkbug, ladybug, and the such. I mean not every item needs a icon as many are not needed for structure or otherwise need to be in inventory. So a lady bug deco chest would be enough for storage. However just a singular rock would not be as you got what quartzite, pebble, sap, and clay being in game rocks (sap harvested by hammer bonus) as honestly those items are some of the most heavily used item and color differences often don't stay in the players head as separation methods

  23. Yes. You could put in different species too but I still haven't figured out the region the game is based on so I don't know if they could do the orchid mimics of mantids or crab spiders

  24. Different morphs...like different breeds of Mantis you mean?

  25. If they do a mantis I hope they do different morphs. Find a flower palet one around the crocus and roses. Big greens stalking the flood zone by the Cassette. Brownish sticks hanging still in the hedge.

  26. That bow is awesome and I gave it to Lann every game I've played so far I've never paid any attention to greatswords but the Numerian one seemed okay in chapter 3. I always keep everyone with their starting weapon category and since nobody is greatswords I pay them no attention. I should probably mix things up more. Replaying my Demon game from chapter 3 because I want that damn ending.

  27. @Elric Galad Thanks, much appreciation for the thorough feedback! I found myself nodding to virtually everything you wrote, so I'll follow these specifications Fair, I'll prioritize other things. One good thing is that the fight will still be available from the get-go in the Pool of Memories, so that's something.

  28. @BartimaeusHow in the world have you not seen Big Trouble in Little China? That movie is awesome and it has my favorite Kurt Russell performance ever. Kurt Russell has given a lot of great performances so that's a big statement. Jack Burton is the greatest, largely because he's so ineffective.

  29. Both, actually. October is usually sort of an "identify classic movies to watch, especially if they're horror or thriller" month each year, and had already been looking at John Carpenter movies before RLM started doing that video series - so when they did start their reviews of Carpenter movies, that was great news because it'd give a way better look at them and make it easy to select ones to watch, and yes, Assault on Precinct 13 immediately looked like one that I'd probably like well enough but definitely not love, so let's go watch it...and yep, that was exactly the case. In a month where I'm roped into watching a lot of classic movies, both ones I've wanted to see as well ones I have never even been vaguely interested in seeing, Assault on Precinct 13 seemed like an easy and agreeable choice. Might watch a few more Carpenter movies throughout the month. Yeah, it really was basically a zombie movie but just without literal zombies. This was Carpenter's second film after Dark Star, and I think it was lacking some of the more clever and snappier characters, dialogue, and action like you'd see in something like his The Thing, but it was still solid overall, especially given the budget.

  30. Got curious from the Re:View or just random crazy happenstance?

  31. Can't see Lanfear being all that important in the appearance sense in the TV series- unless they end up doing Age of Legends flashbacks or similar*. Elaida seems a reasonable guess, given the casting of Elayne. *spoiler it, for safety sake

  32. I feel like I've gotten as far as I can without consulting you guys for the next step in regards to design. Starting Point I honetly LOVE that it was possible to spawn (and trap ) the player in the area from the get-go. Unless you guys disagree I'd like to keep it like this. However, there's still the question of exactly which point in the quest it's best to start the campaign... As if the player just entered the Temple of Toamowhai for the first time. (Forcing the Tyrant of Decay fight.) As if the player just completed the Tyrant of Decay fight, starting the conversation with the apologizing guard. (2), but skipping the conversation with the apologizing guard. The first thing you would do is talk with Humaire. Spawn the player as though they've defeated the Tyrant of Decay and had the introduction dialogue with Humaire. I think 1 would feel the best from a story perspective... the remaining dialogue in 2-3 would miss some context, or feel weird as an introduction dialogue (with 2 being by far the most akward I believe). However, in 1 you'd have to face a hard fight before having a chance to recruit adventurers (or recruiting them through not-very-seamless scripting). 4. Brings you imediately to being able to start the encounters, but might feel akward regarding dialogue/quests? Starting Level & Experience gain I agree with @Elric Galad here: Another argument in favor of this is that SSS quests are Lv16 to begin with Though I can see a case for starting level of 19-20. Equipment / Money What gear goes to merchants, what is given to the player by default, what goes as rewards? Also, how much starting money - enough to get the build going but not maxed out? A couple 100k? Soulbounds Some conditionals for non-SSS Soulbounds cannot be fulfilled, such as sailing into a thunderstorm with Lord Darryn's Voulge. We could either... Skip the impossible conditionals. Set all non-SSS Soulbounds to max level when they're collected. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I think there are two ways we can go with this mod in general. Either we treat this as a real campaign, in the sense that you gradually gain levels and better equipment... or we let the player start with max level, gear, etc and just let them go wild. Two suggestions based on this: Start at Lv16, starting gear is one of each Armor & Weapon type of Superior quality (all uniques are sold by merchants/encounter rewards), Soulbounds will auto-unlock only impossible upgrades. Start at Lv20, with all (non-SSS) unique items, (non-SSS) Soulbounds will auto-unlock all stages. What are your feelings on this, everyone? @Elric Galad@house2fly@Kvellen@Hoo Btw, should I make a thread for taking feedback in the general/strategy forums as well? I have a hunch people over there might be interested as well.

  34. Andrew Lloyd Webber has become so attached to his pup Mojito during the pandemic that he said he needed to figure out how they could be together always, even on the plane when he travels to America. He said: “I wrote off and said I needed him with me at all times because I’m emotionally damaged and I must have this therapy dog. “The airline wrote back and said, ‘Can you prove that you really need him?’ “And I said ‘Yes, just see what Hollywood did to my musical Cats.’ “Then the approval came back with a note saying, ‘No doctor’s report required.’”
