I do nothing but my wife has bought a new mattress because I guess our old one has too many miles or a blown valve or something. I dunno, I don't even know where the blinker fluid goes in the damn thing. I think she got some brand which I've never heard of before which isn't saying much because I only know like 4 mattress brands.3 points

Sorry for failed annoucement but I have just spotted the new Screamin Souls only work once per target. Recasting the spell has no effect. I have no idea why but I'm still working on it. It might take a while, the bug seems kind of deep.3 points

My experience is literally the same as yours with SRTT and IV. Just dumb fun with a friend in an over the top-themed sandbox with no pretenses of being higher entertainment or anything. Just running around causing mayhem with a **** bat or dubstep gun while my character yells "I am the greatest!". In other news, I don't know if you guys have heard, but there's massive internet drama regarding what's for many games the go-to site for mods, Nexus. https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2021-07-02-nexus-mods-will-no-longer-allow-authors-to-delete-mod-files The article is incorrect in that the change was only notified to authors after someone tried to delete their mod and found that they couldn't. The less than open way this was rolled out and the obvious monetization of other people's work has burned a lot of goodwill with some modders, who have simply up and left to make their own site, Mods-in-Exile (yeah...). I don't expect much to change honestly, Nexus is simply too big and it's easy not to notice or care.3 points

The same reason people watch videos of car crashes? I played SR III quite a bit. The DLC too. But... big but... it was always co-op. The game is just fun mechanically and in an over the top way when playing as a team. My friend (a nice girl with a real killer instinct) was just the perfect partner in crime (the same friend I enjoyed completing Borderlands 1, 2 & Prequel as well as Portal 2 with). A very competitive person. Emerging game play much? Probably. Some games are just more fun when played with other people. I would have gotten bored with SR III shortly after start if I had had to play it for the story.3 points

I picked up Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear on sale, and I've played a character through Baldur's Gate so I can run him through SoD. I'm still early in the game but it's not bad thus far. Basically more of the same sort of thing, with a few twists here and there. The one issue I've had is that my original party is unavailable, so I've had to recruit several companions who join as first level characters. (Minsc and Dynaheir, for example, who I didn't recruit in the first game just for a change of pace.) The combat has been fairly challenging, and seems to be balanced for a full strength party at the PC's level. Fortunately there are ways to grind through the early battles using items acquired during the first game.3 points

My wife suggested these. Baskets that can be attached to zip lines so you can send inventory level items this way you can continue exploring after a berry or clay harvest trip. Bug basket. A cute little basket that your pet can ride with you on a Zipline with. Bonus if aphids make death screams from going too fast but aren't hurt of course2 points

This suggestion comes in four semi-unrelated parts. I think the Jerky and Roast item families should be consolidated into a single item each: a Jerky and a Roast. Having different items for each bug's raw meat makes some sense, if only for realism and lore reasons, but once it becomes food, I don't see any real difference between one and the other. Maybe the Aphid and Tadpole could keep their unique ones, representative of the former being tiny and the latter being large, but what's the difference between a Weevil Roast and a Grub Roast, from a gameplay perspective? Why do I need a stack of 5 Aphid Jerky, a stack of 3 Weevil Jerky, and a stack of 2 Gnat Jerky, all taking up 10% of my inventory, when I could just have one stack of 10 Jerky that does the same job with less fuss? This one is a minor annoyance and I can understand why it might not happen, but I would love it if the hotbar was a separate inventory space from the main inventory? I'm constantly having to rearrange my carefully-managed inventory because, for example, I equip my hammer from slot 2 of my hotbar to harvest some quartzite, and then when I unequip the hammer, it doesn't go back where it was because that slot freed up when I equipped the axe & is now full of rocks. I like to know where everything is instead of having to spend time searching for something i would've sworn was here somewhere, maybe it's in a chest, (nope it was in my inventory all along but I missed it because it wasn't where I expected and now I've wasted two minutes on boring inventory fiddling instead of actually playing the game), yknow? Make the hotbar a toolbelt, and this problem goes away (mostly, at least), because the tools I'm regularly equipping and unequipping get their own dedicated spots, instead of having to get shuffled around all the time. I'm sure this one has been said before, but: inventory upgrades? Pretty please? 30 is a respectable amount of slots, but I'd give my whole stash of silk rope for an upgraded backpack with an extra 10 slots! (Also, I'd like to quickly note that suggestion #2 would pretty much solve this problem, because suddenly I'd have 8 inventory slots that weren't used up by my normal tools and weapons!) Maybe this is already a thing and I just didn't notice, but a sentence in the description of the bow saying "press L to change arrows" or something would be helpful. I honestly didn't initially notice the little thing in the bottom-right corner saying as much, because I'm so used to that bit of UI being largely the same for every tool, so It didn't occur to me to check it when I got the bow. I might be in the minority here, though. I dunno. Anyway, thanks for your time!!2 points

I have been fooling around with ascetic builds lately, using two of my favorite subclasses, forbidden fist and shifter. In the past I have played helwalker ascetics that were ultimately more spell-focused, but I went with shifter this time for a more melee focus. After playing this build in the vanilla game I started over using the Shifter Evolution mod, which is a rather OP mod that makes SC melee shifter viable by taking the druid elemental spells, and replacing them with passives and other spells that are more melee oriented. I tried this out because of its first level spell, Crush, which basically a downsized version of the barbarian leap ability, allowing you to jump up and knock down enemies in a small AOE. It also debuffs their DEF by -10. It's a fun starting ability in IMO. I just discovered the major cheese factor. This mod adds Monastic Unarmed Training as a selectable ability for the shifter druid. To make matters better or worse (depending on your perspective), the mod does NOT remove MUT as an option if you choose an ascetic MC. If you select MUT, it STACKS with transcendent suffering, which gives you an incredible bonus to damage, accuracy and penetration. However, it's not too overpowered since if you largely play while shifted, as I do, neither MUT or transcendent suffering apply while shifted. There is one exception however: the forbidden fist attack, which, while shifted, benefits from MUT, transcendent suffering, the Wildstrike elemental lash, and eventually the turning wheel fire lash, and lightning strikes, if you select that option. It's really OP, and turns the FF ability into a real death touch, accessible from very early in the game. This is of course very cheesy, but I am offering it up as I know that there are some turophiles out there (Not So Clever Hound, I am referring to you).2 points

It's going to vary pretty widely by region. But the quote about working hard for the properties always cracks me up. Like, do you mean that other people aren't working hard to pay rent and just get by? Circumstances play a huge role in how you go from zero dollars to multiple properties, and it always amazes me that people can't be reflective of that. But, as the BLM lady in the article said, that is the issue with privilege. It makes people uncomfortable to recognize their privileges.2 points

I think the big difference here is that Ciphers get one single pool of ressources instead of separate ones per Tier. You can play a decent Cipher with no more than about 5 abilities provided you pick the less situational ones. Priests, druids and wizards can cast more different spells, but they also HAVE TO.2 points

Yes. While shifted, the FF ascetic can use the FF attack, which benefits from transcendent suffering and any and all lashes, including the wild strike lash. Autoattacks while shifted benefit from the lashes, but do not benefit from transcendent suffering. This makes FF the best option in my opinion for a shifter ascetic. Helwalker obviously is best for an ascetic build with a focus on spells, but for a melee build FF takes the cake I think. Tanglefoot is great with the FF ascetic as well. However, you need the vanilla game for that. The shifter evolution mod tweaked tanglefoot, making it foe only.2 points

There is one special fun combo (imo) with Trickster/Soulblade which I really like: go max deflection (high RES, Mirrored Images + Borrowed Instincts + Psyvhovampiric Shield sometimes + gear) and use Whispers of the Endless Paths with the enchantment "Offensive Parry". Those parries will generate focus! In addition to that the raw damage of Soul Annihilation will get applied to all enemies in the cone AoE (the amout of damage to each enemy varies, the initial target gets the normal raw dmg, the next only a bit, the next more and so on). It's not for man tanking - but you can stand sourrounded by melee enemies for quite a long time and gain focus "passively" be just parrying and then take out the enemies with Soul Annihilation. Riposte stacks with Offensive Parry (meanikng you can "riposte" twice from one single miss)! Riposte itself doesn't generate focus but it's an additional source of damage. Offensive Parry is not an AoE attack (oly hits the enemy who missed) but Riposte does the whole cone attack. Against tough single enemies you can switch to another weapon with better single target dmg.2 points

Huh, I always thought it's kind of a waste that Monk/Druids can't use Transcendent Suffering in any form for their spiritshift attacks (could have been a weakened version of TS or whatever) - but I never thought about the Forbidden Fist ability in combination with Spiritshift. Just slept on that combo. Does the ability get Wildstrike bonus in the vanilla game, too? I reckon Shifter Boar's DoT with Enfeebled + Turning Wheel might be insane on its own...? Edit: jeez, FF ability indeed gets the bonus of TS and all the Wildstrike goodies in the vanilla game, too - including Boar's wounding DoT. That's awesome! ...Lol - the Boar DoT lasts for nearly a minute then. What a beast... I also love about the FF/Druid that you can walk in your own Tanglefoot and get <1 sec afflictions all the time (=plenty of wounds).2 points

Ha, great image! You do do ridiculously high damage with the FF attack, as you correctly surmise. Needless to say, you can avoid this simply by not selecting MUT in the first place. If you like playing shifters the mod is worth trying. One thing to be aware of is the fact that the mod penalizes you with a -20% xp penalty to compensate for its OP nature. However, the penalty applies to every game when the mod is active, even if you're not playing a shifter. But you can just deactivate it in the mod manager when you don't want to play a shifter to avoid this.2 points

Of course you can play it in melee too with the right gear/abilities, stay alive using Unbending and become invisible from time to time to get back your resources. You can also flank multiple melee enemies using Persistent Distraction + Guardian Stance and trigger brilliant even without being invisible. But you shouldn't expect to be as effective or risk free as the sniper version. Anyway, you can see more details here:1 point

If you're not keen on invisibility cheese with assassin/tactician, keep in mind the assassin has a smoke bomb ability that distracts in a fairly large radius. It's nice in that it rolls against reflex too, and with +25 acc from stealth you should hit most enemies that aren't resistant. That said, take care not to hit your own teammates.1 point

Wisdom that comes from harsh lessons. Imagine sitting in theaters back in 1999 watching the Phantom Menace and thinking "this actually isn't in the bottom half of Star Wars movies". Better to not even contemplate just how bad it could get.1 point

Maybe give a perk instead. Like how brood mother gives you mama genes. Either have it block the damage to your clothing or give you immunity to the fog or heck maybe include a blueprint that gives your armour immunity like ladybug face mask+1 point

If only. Anyways in the last 20 years a bit less than 6500 Americans died in Afghanistan, the bulk of them contractors. There were weeks where the rona took more than that, and it continues to kill hundreds daily as more variations keep popping up. I'm wondering if some of the folks currently wailing at ol Joe are going to make that a priority any time soon, because it seems a lot of them really don't give two tugs on a dead dog's **** about dead bodies piling up.1 point

So, from my perspective one of the big issues with the current events is that they broadcast what they were going to do and set hard deadlines to do it, so you think its a good idea for the President to...continue to broadcast their plans to the media? He'd ignored the question once - maybe he should just leave the room? Alrighty then. To me this was a reporter taking an opportunity (at a press conference on Cybersecurity, not Afghanastain) to try and get a gotcha question in. He knew Biden either wouldn't or couldn't answer, and anything Biden did could be made to make him look bad. He leaves - he looks bad, he makes a vague statement he's waffling, he shuts down the question with a flip answer he's President Satan. Frankly Biden looks bad enough without help, and in my opinion this is a lot of ado about nothing. The last idiot just stopped having press conferences. Heck this doesn't even rate - for me at least - near Hilary Clinton's Benghazi "they're dead, get over it"* moment. *paraphrased.1 point

and just so is clear, recall it were Gromnir who criticized biden for following through with the trump negotiation including the brobdingnagian stoopid hard deadline. we saw calamity in the making and unnecessary suffering, but we understood there would be a few people, particular veterans, who genuine believe no more american deaths, no matter how few, is worth an additional day in afghanistan, much less years. am not a biden supporter regarding the handling o' afghanistan. am understanding why some support his decision even if am more conflicted. however, am recognizing just how unfair is much o' the venom being directed at biden. sure, we disagreed with biden implementation o' withdrawal, but as a young Congressman biden also reported to President Ford that vietnam were hopeless and that a withdrawal were the best course o' action. consistant. am recognizing biden in 2021 made a hard choice which were not supported by his military advisors and that he had to know that american deaths were possible during the withdrawl and that he would be blamed for those deaths as well as the suffering o' millions in afghanistan. biden made a hard choice and am thinking people are stretching themselves in impossible directions to make him a different villain than he is. given the fact biden's son served honorable in the US military and the POTUS is obvious proud o' his son's, service, suggesting biden is lacking respect for americans serving abroad is bordering on the unbelievable. incompetent? possible. we get the incompetent argument given how bungled has been the withdrawal even though as already noted multiple other nations were clear caught similar unawares. feckless? please. HA! Good Fun!1 point

gd knew they were savages. gd had to know that it were possible americans would be killed during the withdrawal 'cause no plan of operations extends with any certainty beyond the first encounter with the main enemy forces. only the layman believes that in the course of a campaign he sees the consistent implementation of an original thought that has been considered in advance in every detail and retained to the end. you knew many thousands o' afghanistan women would be facing functional slavery once the taliban regained power. you knew many afghanistan citizens would be murdered 'cause they supported americans these past two decades. you knew. nevertheless, you draw the line at a single us fatality? gotta be careful using that feckless label 'cause it could have much broader application than you want. US intelligence (and numerous foreign intelligence services as well given how similar unprepared were germany and the uk and others) underestimated the extent to which individual afghanistan political leaders and military commanders would cut deals with the taliban. were a whole lotta mistakes starting with the trump administration negotiation/surrender and biden's similar embrace o' a hard deadline. mistakes were gonna happen. this too were known, but somebody is gonna need explain the multiple failures o' the withdrawal... though we assume gd doesn't want an investigation o' any kind 'cause what would be the point, yes? regardless, this post hoc handwringing and finger pointing would be more convincing if it weren't looking like just another excuse to advance your favorite narrative. and again, washington times is not the most reliable source. am gonna need context. HA! Good Fun!1 point
